Worth the visit. Very aesthetic place and the food matches the aesthetic. Limited hours so plan accordingly. Service was very friendly. The tempeh was my favorite. Wish it came w/ 20 pieces! We had the whole place to ourselves around 11:45am on a Monday. Sate Tempeh: 4.5/5 (my favorite, best flavor) Sate Tofu: 4/5 (tempeh had more flavor) Jasmine Rice: 5/5 (can't mess up rice haha) The Pandan Iced: 4.5/5 (smooth)

The Indonesian food here was pretty mid (okay). It wasn't terrible, but it was giving gentrified Indonesian food. My friend from Indonesia I came with also agreed as well. We both shared the following dishes: - Hamachi Dabu-Dabu: The best of the dishes we had. I liked the tangy and spicy flavor of the fresh fish. The fish was pretty stringy though. - Sate Tempeh: Th texture was good, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor. - Beef Ribs: I liked how the meat was tender, but wasn't the biggest fan of all the fat. The flavor also could've been better. The dinner was tapas style so the portions were on the smaller side. However, the price paid for them was not worth it in my opinion besides the hamachi. The interior was nice with the mood lighting. There was a decent amount of tables and chairs, but I would recommend making a reservation in advance. The server we had was super kind, attentive, and explained the menu items to us well. Overall, I'm not sure if I would come back here for dinner but would be interested to try the cafe and day menu items.

Looking for street parking was a pain or pay $20 right behind the store for public parking. Came on a Saturday night. Service was great. Restaurant was decorated super nice and small maybe around 6-7 tables of 4. Food I felt like was overpriced food for the bucks. I liked the green chilli that comes with the beef ribs but it felt like the beef ribs were not marinated enough that theres no flavor on the inside. Chicken sate and wagyu sate was delicious but only two skewer per order. We came here seeing the bubur ayam and bakmi ayam but that was only for lunch (I saw too many lunch pictures on google and on Yelp). Food does not come with rice. So if you order beef ribs ($32) you have to order rice ($3.50). All asians eat rice. So you're eating at around $35 per person unless you go cheap like us and have chicken sate ($8) or wagyu rendang sate ($18).

Excellent food and service by Louis!!! We had the gado gado, chicken satay, yellowtail collar, eggplant, pandan tiramisu. Wow 10/10 meal! Everything was cooked to perfection and plated beautifully. Louis was very attentive and kind. The yellowtail and eggplant dish is A MUST! The eggplant melts in your mouth and is perfectly charred. The umami of the miso or fermented soybean paste was chef's kiss! Everything was made and plated with intention and I highly recommend Padi! The ambiance was very relaxing and nice.

Came on a Saturday morning right at opening and we found street parking easily! There may also be a lot right behind the building. The restaurant is right next to Iki Nori and felt very spacious and modern. They have just one menu now and we got the Bakmi Ayam, Sate Ayam, Sate Wagyu with Rendang sauce, Gado Gado, side of rice and some Sambal! Also got the Pandan coffee which was strong! Favorite bites were the Gado Gado and Sambal. Other dishes were very good too, but I'd skip the wagyu rendang if you're looking for a more familiar renang dish. While the wagyu itself was good, it didn't soak up the sauce like in the classic rendang dishes. Service was very nice and they even packed up all of the few bites of leftovers that I still wanted to enjoy later!

Loved this place! Menu is made to try a few different dishes. Really recommend the miso eggplant, so much flavor! Also love the scallops and pandan drinks.

I am sooo happy to get an Indonesian spot in the neighborhood! Better yet, this place rocks! Excellent Pandan coffee and their food menu looks delicious. They have a yummy blueberry muffin too! Super friendly service and spacious interior with lots of tables. Run to try this place before it blows up!

We had dinner at Padi, the brand-new Indonesian restaurant in the heart of Hollywood, and it was an amazing experience. We ordered the prawns, octopus, chicken satay, ribs, and finished with the Pandan Tiramisu for dessert. Everything was outstanding--we loved the ambiance, the attentive service, the gracious owner, Renata, and, most importantly, the incredibly delicious food. Every dish was a 10 out of 10. My personal favorite was the Pandan Tiramisu. The aroma of pandan was wonderfully pronounced, and they took the classic tiramisu and transformed it into their own unique creation. We will definitely be back, especially for breakfast. We've heard so many great reviews about their noodles, chicken porridge, and drinks, and we can't wait to try them.

Padi on Sunset delivers a thoughtful take on Indonesian cuisine with a small plates approach that encourages exploration and family style. The gado gado was vibrant and well-balanced, while the oxtail soup brought slow-simmered richness. The grilled hamachi with sambal added a modern touch--clean, crispy, and layered with a touch of heat. A great place to experience a range of flavors in one sitting, and if you've never had indo food it's a great introduction.

Dropped by the recently opened Padi restaurant on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood for an early dinner, as it was on my list to try this Indonesian place, and it did not disappoint: the scallop crudo and chicken satay were both tasty - the raw scallops were pristine + lovely plating. While the gado gado (which translates to "mix mix") was nicely composed, the dish was over-dressed imho, so the salad became a bit mushy to my taste - still, the space is clean, service was pleasant & attentive = overall it was a solid experience - and I'm eager to return to try their congee dish (which is only offered during daytime hours). If you dig Indonesian food, I recommend a visit to Padi soon.

I was coming from schools and i heard there is a new Indonesia Restaurant nearby . Food is good However, portions are not big. for me , it was so little for the price. By the way, I really like Indonesia food. I like the bakmi (noodles) 18$and bubur ayam (porridge)15$. The satays are really good as well. My friends love the bubur ayam. I like the bakmi. Service is friendly. Place is spacious and clean. The vibes looks like we are jn Bali cafe shop.

The food , the service, the ambience all immaculate!! The sembal had the perfect flavor and spice. All of the coffee drinks were perfectly made and hit the spot. Makanan, Enak Sekali!! Sambal pedasnya Pas!!! Semua Menum Kopi enak jugat! I cant wait to return for the upcoming dinner menu.

Padi is easily one of the most memorable Indonesian meals we've had in LA. The food feels home-cooked in the best way, like everything was made with intention instead of just being pumped out for volume. We ordered a spread for the table and every container we opened got that instant "wow this smells good" reaction. The noodles with the minced pork and mushrooms were super comforting and flavorful, not greasy, and the sambals on the side let you dial in the heat exactly how you want it. Even something as simple as the way it was packed and labeled showed how much care they put into the experience. The family demolished it. No leftovers, no picking at food, just everyone quietly eating because it was that good. That rarely happens. What really surprised me is that they take their coffee seriously too. Most places focus on one or the other, but here the drinks are not an afterthought. The iced coffee was smooth, strong, and balanced, and the cream-topped latte style drink was a huge hit at the table. It turned the whole meal into more of a hangout than just a quick bite. The space is clean, bright, and welcoming, and the service feels genuinely warm. You can tell they're proud of what they're serving. Great Indonesian food is already hard to find in LA, and Padi makes it even better by executing everything at a high level. This is the kind of place you bring your family to and everyone leaves happy. Definitely going back.

I think I saw this place pop up on my social media which is how I got on my radar. I signed up for the newsletter and did a pre-order when they did a pop-up. I don't have a lot of experience with Bali/ Indonesian food, but this was such a fun, novel experience and the food was really tasty. I ordered nasi bungkus, the kueh lapis, and the es cendol. From their website, the nasi bungus contained the following. STEAMED RICE Fragrant lemongrass rice made with coconut milk, pandan leaves, and galangal SAYUR URAB Long bean and bean sprout dish with toasted coconut and kencur COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY Pasture-raised chicken, slow-cooked for six hours MOTHER-IN-LAW EGG Hard-boiled egg marinated in tamari and topped with chili paste TEMPE OREK Fried soy bean cake in a sweet and spicy glaze SAMBAL GORENG Spicy Thai chilies, shallots, and garlic, fried and finished with coarse salt KACANG BALI Bali-style salted peanuts ABON BABI Traditional dried pork garnish The kueh lapis is a fun colorful, coconutty dessert that is nice, thick and chewy. The cendol is a nice desserty drink made of coconut milk, pandan jelly, red bean, and diced jackfruit. The drink reminds me of something similar in the Vietnamese culture. I was a fan. The desert was beautiful as well, and had such a fun look to it. I like the chewiness, and it was fun the peel the layers. The nasi bungkus itself was a nice combination of flavors and textures. I bought some of that chili stuff in a jar and added some extra on top. I liked that there was a kick, but not so much where I started sweating. The spice was a nice level. I got a little excited and ordered a lot of food and was totally full by the time I finished my items. Pick up itself was really easy. After you pre-order early in the week when they do a pop-up, there's a time window where you pick up - and in this case it was Friday afternoon - night. When I got there, they were friendly, and just directed me towards the counter, where they did final prep to give me my food. They even gave me some reheating instructions just in case. Super friendly and you can tell they put a lot of care into their product. I hope they have all the success in the world and would like to order from them again.

It was crispy on the outside and the shrimp was slightly on the firm side and slightly savory. Nasi capcay included a lot of fresh vegetables. It had more liquidy sauce than expected . The veggies soaked up the liquids quickly and began to get a little soggy. However the veggies were savory. The dish could use more greens. NOTE: this dish comes with shrimp which was NOT disclosed in the menu. We specifically ordered veggie only. One party member wanted a veggie dish but could not eat it due to shrimp allergies. Let them know to cook without shrimp if you have shrimp allergies The Nasi bunkus was delicious. Traditional Indonesian food would typically have a lot more tumeric and spicyness but this dish felt more streamlined. You can ask for more turmeric and spicyness if you prefer. Also The chicken was flavorful but a bit dry. The Riice was good, flavorful and not greasy. Perkedelle was tender but did not have as much crispyness as other perkedelle that ive had. The potato inside was not as light and fluffy as expected (compared to other perkedelle) and was instead on the slightly dense side. It was still good. The Bakwang jagung, or corn fritters, were both crispy and a bit dense and sticky. It was savory and was not greasy at all. We liked this dish. Es doger was good BUT had tough meat husks in the drink. The coconut flavor and bits were a nice addition to the drink. The casava and condensed milk had the right amount without being overpowering. If not for the husks in the drink, i would recommend it. Es cendol was heavy on the condensed milk and slightly overrpowered the pandan jelly and bits of jackfruit. It was ok. Overall this restaurant is an option for the area if you are looking Indonesian food.

I went there thinking I'm just going to buy 2 items max. Wrong! This place, unlike many places around the area takes credit cards. There goes all my money! Lol. I ended up with a basketful of food. I just couldn't help it. I ate them, not all, as soon as I got home and each one of them was delicious and authentic. I know this will be a stop for me whenever I visit LA. They're just that good.

They really keep the authenticity and quality at a high level. The food is amazing and every dish we have tried has been consistently good. It can get a little pricey if you order a bunch of dishes with a group but it is completely worth it for the quality you are getting. One nice bonus is their loyalty program. If you spend over 50 dollars they give you a stamp card and once you collect ten stamps you get around 20 dollars off or a free dish. Definitely a good incentive to keep coming back. If you are looking for authentic Indonesian food in the Rosemead area I honestly do not think there is a better option than Medan Kitchen. Highly recommend giving it a try.

The rice was flavorful along side the well cooked meat. It came with an egg, spicy peanuts, and a coquette. You can order at the counter or at the table. Though, if you're unfamiliar, it's worth it to ask the staff for details especially for the items listed on the daily special since there's no descriptor on those. The place also serves as a mini grocery for Indonesian items if you want to make it at home. It does give homely vibes with a sense of community. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes like the satay. Fun fact, they were part of the original food court but now have their own space.

The rice cake on the side was good, but not a must; the chicken alone was enough. Might get again (tasty, but not standouts): 17 Nasi Goreng Seafood (seafood fried rice) 27 Mie Ayam Jamur (chicken mushroom noodles) Would NOT get again: 47 Sayur Asem (tamarind soup) - just okay, not bad, but not for me. Overall, the food was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. The restroom was exceptionally clean, and parking is ample and free, though it can get crowded on weekends.

I love this little mom‑and‑pop shop. Indonesian food isn't easy to find, at least not around here,…read moreso discovering this gem was such a treat. Since it's a small restaurant, it's always a good idea to call ahead if you're visiting close to closing time. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, and the food feels like true home‑cooked comfort. Don't expect fancy presentation but expect good, honest, delicious food. Everything we ordered was great, but the standout for me was the fried oxtail. The curry‑based marinade was rich and flavorful, and the meat was fall‑off‑the‑bone tender. Such a satisfying dish. Overall, we had a wonderful meal, and I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Since moving, we've been trying to find another Indonesian restaurant. This place had been on our list for awhile, but never went because it was quite a drive away. But now we are closer to here and we can say that it is amazing, authentic Indonesian food!! And if you need it to be halal then it is as well. We got the Nasi Bungkus and Chicken Sate. The portions here are very generous in my opinion. It's so flavorful and it has a 'homemade comfort food' feel. It's like I went over to a friend's house and got a really tasty home-cooked meal. I believe there's only 3 staff-members -- the owners who cook and then one lady who ran the front. All were very nice people and I feel bad I didn't get the name of the lady who works the front but she was funny and has a great personality. We definitely want to come back!
