Reminds me how much I miss my Abuela

This is going to be an unusual review. This Mexican Bakery is reminiscent of when I was a kid with my mom. On Sundays we'd head over to the panderia and buy sweet bread, cookies and all sorts of weird looking pastries and candies you'd see in Mexico close to the border. We would then go over to my grandmas house and they would have coffee and eat sweetbread until late in the afternoon and we'd snack and nap. I still don't know what everything is called here but when you have a big metal pan and a super long pair of tongs you'll load it up until it resembles a pyramid. All for CHEAP.

If you want delicious, freshly made, sweet bread, then this is the place to go. The bakery has a fantastic variety of mouth watery baked goodies. Moreover, they also sell tacos, quesadillas and other Mexican plates with fresh waters in case you want to grab a quick dinner or lunch. The place is also clean and well maintained. We'll be coming back for more!!!n

    Cubanas sandwich $7.45 of blah

The food smell really good in there and i was starving!!! I decided to get a cubana torta. I needed something greasy and meaty. I told them to put everything in it... it cost me 7.45 no drink just a sandwich. I got my sandwich and when I opened it I was a Lil disappointed. It's just a plain sandwich with all sorts of meat with mayo lettuce tomato and avocado. No sauce nothing heart clogging goodness that I've had in various restaurant when I order a Cubanas torta. Doesn't even have a lingering heat or taste it's just a mayo sandwich. Quite disappointed :-( did I get tricked?

Tres leeches with fresh strawberries!!! I've never had it this way before and it tastes heavenly!!

This place is old school and authentic. If you're looking for fairly priced Mexican pastries THIS IS THE PLACE.

My Yelp pal Alyssa got me hooked on Tiny's. Hooked real bad…read more OMCookie are they yummy! They've got other things besides cookies like croissants, donuts, muffins, and donut holes. Thus far, I've only had cookies. First time was when said friend gifted me a rather ginormous chocolate chip cookie that melted in my mouth. Couldn't get it in my belly fast enough. Since I've been going on my own I've also had the lemon crinkle cookie as well as the chocolate crinkle and the double chocolate chip. All are enough to put my head in a tizzy state of intoxication from their sugary goodness. I'll have to say the double chocolate chip cookie is my favorite. That is, as I type this. I'm sure during my next visit it'll be another cookie. Perhaps the lemon will move forward in my line of faves. No matter because as I said, it's all delicious goodness. Baked love. Perfectly baked. Yummy. Pure cookie bliss.

All smiles and very patient as I was being indecisive on what to get but ended up getting all Chocolate Chip. I didn't really see a spot to sit but I also did just pick up and left. The outside is super cute and can definitely be a good photo opportunity. I initially Yelp for ice cream but this spot popped up and I couldn't say no. It was a good spot to check out if you love cookies. Prices are a bit high but would make great gifts or for you to eat. Tips: *Credit card accepted *Small parking lot.

This bakery seriously might have the best cookies in Austin. Perfect texture, rich flavor, and…read moresomehow always fresh and satisfying every single time. Definitely one of those places that keeps you thinking about the cookie long after you leave. Everything else in the bakery also looks amazing, but the cookies are absolutely the star of the show. One important thing to note for first-time visitors: be very careful with parking. The lot next door apparently boots cars almost immediately if they see you park there and walk toward the bakery. It's not the bakery's fault, but it's definitely something customers should be aware of before visiting. Parking headache aside, this place is 100% worth the trip.

Thoroughbread bakery is tucked away in a residential area behind South Lamar. I saw a post on…read moresocial media touting ThoroughBread cookies as the best cookies they have ever eaten. Wow, that was a bold claim! I finally got the opportunity to try ThoroughBread cookies and they were quite yummy. These cookies are like no other cookies I have eaten. I got the chocolate chip cookies with pecans. They had the texture of gingerbread cookies and were huge. They were gooey in the middle, perfectly crisp on the outside, and rich without being eye-squinting sweet. The chocolate chip cookies had welcoming textures and flavors. In addition, my server was kind and patient as I made my selection. You could taste the quality of ingredients, and each mouthful was progressively delicious. Definitely try Thoroughbread cookies for yourself. You're in for a treat.
