I want to Thank Nadine C. and Kira K. and Steven U. , and Pancake & Waffles BLD for Hosting this Event. Mom and I went here for the Special UnOfficial Yelp Breakfast Club Event. We saw our Yelp Friends there and made some new Yelp friends. Everyone ordered different food items from the menu. Steven let us try his Chantilly Pancake and OMG ! That was so yummy. I gotta order that the next time we eat @ Pancakes & Waffles BLD. I probably will try to order it at the Waimalu location. It was our first time at the Dillingham location. All of us Yelpers earned our Breakfast Club Badge today for attending this Yelp Event. We had fun and played a game and took pictures. Everyone's food looked so ono. . Mom and I ordered coffee, Vindha Daldos with Scrambled eggs, and Fried Rice. We also ordered Waffles because Mom wanted to eat waffles. We took home our left overs. We Enjoyed our food and meeting Everyone at this Yelp Event. We had Fun ! ! ! Shout out to the Awesome Staff @ Pancakes & Waffles BLD . We enjoyed eating brunch here. Food was hot when it came out. Service was also really good. It was pretty crowded when we came in . It was about 9:45am on a Saturday. Plenty parking but it gets crowded fast. Took off 1 star because they only except cash. Not to much people cash on hand since everyone uses their card. I'll be back again. read more

First time eating at this location. Order first, then they will direct you to an available table. I was on crutches so they promptly took my order and let me sit while the rest of my party ordered. I got the corned beef hash loco - brown gravy is delicious! My husband got country style breakfast and friend got the Kalbi loco (special). They have Harder's drinks - orange bang, lilikoi and POG - just like Zippy's. Food came out quickly and hot. No table side service but they do bus your table. read more

We have eaten here three days in a row! the kalbi loco moco is the bomb! the Korean fried chicken is awesome and so is the corn bread waffles with chicken. The pancakes are huge, light and fluffy! We eat breakfast and don't need anything till dinner! read more

Never disappointed when I come here! The food always comes out fast and even though it's like a seat your self place and I'm always worried there won't be seats, they always have seats and they are fast to clean the tables! The waffle is amazing! I probably wouldn't recommend the waffle benedict though because the waffle is very soggy (from the hollandaise) but I just prefer a crispy waffle. The hollandaise was very good though and everything else taste amazing! read more

First things first, if you want a hearty breakfast without breaking the bank, this is the place! You'll need a car to make the journey more convenient as this is not in Waikiki. They have so many breakfast options here! While I was waiting for my order, I had plenty of time to look at the interactions around me. I have to say that the young ladies that worked behind the counter are really quick and good at their jobs - repeating long customized orders without skipping a beat! Onto the food: Chorizo Benedict @ $11.95: I had no idea that chorizo could be served in a patty form. I am used to crumbled red chorizo so I was quite shocked to see 2 brown patties under my poached eggs. I thought it may have been a mistake, but I can confirm there were some flavors reminiscent of the chorizo I'm used to. The hollandaise was a little on the sour side, but I thought the toasted english muffin was one of the better ones I've tasted. Perhaps another benedict item would be better, but I don't recommend this one. Fried Rice Special @ $9.25: This dish came with 2 eggs any style and a choice of meat. Don't choose Portuguese sausage as your meat option because you will literally only get TWO slices. This would have been a good dish because the fried rice was not mushy, but actually nice and smoky with little bits of ham and scallion. If there was least 4 slices of Portuguese sausage, then I would totally recommend this! Overall, portion size and price is decent. I would come back for the fried rice and try something else. read more

You can skip the lines and reduce your wait time by ordering online, then enjoying your meal in their dining room. The food is not outstanding, but it's convenient and they do give large potions. Everything is awesome about this place! The service here is so good! The staff is super friendly, kind, caring, and helpful. In person and over the phone, I have only encountered the highest quality staff here. The food is really good here! My breakfast favorite is the PW Special Omelet. It is an omelet with everything and covered with hollandaise sauce. I pay a little extra and get it with fried rice or banana pancakes. So delicious and filling. Sometimes it is heavy on the cheese on the inside, so if you aren't a fan of cheese in your omelet, order it without. My lunch favorite is the garlic chicken. It may just be my taste, but I really like how it's prepared here. The sauce is good, not too garlicky and the pieces are a good size for one bite. As of the date of this review they are open to dine in with capacity restrictions being followed. It can get busy, so takeout is almost always the way I go. read more

Good food, fast service but small portions and very expensive! Side corned beef hash is $7 and the portion at best is about 3 heaped tablespoons!!!! FYI: they only accept debit or credit cards, no cash. read more

Not cheap but the price of everything seems to be going up now. It felt so much more local than the craziness of downtown Waikiki. The food was delicious and it's in a cute little hole in the wall shopping center. read more

We decided to check out pancakes and waffles in kalihi. It's tucked away near the dmv where so many of us had our dreams made or shattered. This place spaced out tables really well with comical life size cardboard cut-outs. We ordered the honey butter chicken with cornbread waffles and Korean fried chicken. The honey butter chicken was very photograph friendly but I was underwhelmed with the flavor. Usually I would think it would be sweet and savory but it might've been missing too much of one side. The chicken skin was crispy but not that flavorful. The meat was cooked well and it was juicy with each bite. The waffles were heavy but a good compliment to the chicken and butter. The Korean chicken looked a little dry but it was surprisingly my favorite part of the meal. Like the fried chicken it was juicy and tender and not as dry as I expected. The staff was friendly and asked us twice if we were good with what we had. I would love to try other items on the menu some other time. read more

Love the honey butter chicken and waffles here. The workers here are also very attentive, helpful and accommodating. The tables, utensils and environment is very clean and they are constantly sanitizing, something that I greatly appreciate, especially during these COVID times. Although not pictured, the biscuits and gravy is fluffy, savory and very filling! However, as I mentioned above, I can't come here without eating the honey butter chicken and waffles. The honey butter is a perfect mixture of salty and sweet. The chicken is always crispy too! I would recommend getting the waffle on the side, so that it doesn't get soggy and stays crispy! This is my go to brunch location! read more

First, I went in to pick up my order which I ordered French toast, bacon and eggs got home and realized it was a waffle bacon and eggs went back to return it and asked for the order I came in for and when I got home to check it they only cooked one part of the French toast they didn't flip it over and cook the other part so it was soggy and it was soaked with raw egg. Someone did it on purpose being a prick they must not like their job. Hope they get fired. I usually like to place, but sometimes they be cutting corners read more

Happen to be in the area and decided to stop for breakfast. First time here - order first and then they seat you. Cute cutouts of people placed at tables throughout to support physical distancing. Took a minute to decide what to order, ended up ordering: 1) Veggie omelette - full of veggies and added cheese 2) Waffle breakfast - opted for a mochi waffle ($2 extra) instead w/ scrambled eggs and links. The waffle was so good. Crispy exterior and chewy interior. For me, syrup not needed. Would've liked ketchup and hot sauce for my eggs. Asked for it but they forgot to bring it. 3) Honey butter chicken and cornbread waffle - Hubs shared his waffle and these were so good. Liked them more than the mochi ones as I really liked the texture and flavor. Hubs said the chicken was really good, too - moist meat and crispy skin. Tried the Monte Cristo sandwich and a side of fries. Great crispy fries. Monte Cristo is basically a ham, turkey and cheese sandwich dipped in pancake batter and deep fried. It's a very substantial sandwich if you can fight through the thick crust. An improvement might be to thin out the batter to make a lighter crust or use French toast egg was and grill it. But then, I guess people expect deep fried goodness... Oh and it comes with strawberry jam, which somehow works very well with the saltiness if the meats. Overall a 4 star experience with great service. The sandwich is 3 star. The fries 4 star. read more

Casual diner feel where you seat yourself with hints of modernism. Staff aren't rude per-say, they're just not personable whatsoever. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the caramel apple pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were interesting. Slab of biscuits with sparse gravy. Then to top it off, two large awkward sausages next to it to basically make our own biscuits and gravy. Tasted fine, just disappointed, as we've been looking for more places to have biscuits and gravy, and finally found one. The pancakes were great. No complaints, just extremely sweet, as you'd expect. Unless you have an expansive appetite, just get the smaller stack. Overall would recommend this place for a quick bite to eat with quality food. Also just so you know, they don't take cash, just card and Apple Pay. read more

This was a good breakfast choice. The menu is very extensive, something for everyone. I came here with my youngest son, when we walked in nobody said anything to us so I awkwardly stood there unsure if I was supposed to order at the counter or if I was supposed to seat myself. I finally just decided to sit at a table, then I sat there trying to figure out if I was supposed to order at the counter or if someone was going to come to the table. I figured it out because another person walked in and the lady behind the counter asked if he was dining in or taking out and when he said dining it she asked if he was going to order at the counter or use the QR code. My son and I decided on what to get and then I ordered at the counter because I still wasn't sure what QR code, there was a small paper that looked like an advertisement for a service, turns out that was the code. I ordered the chicken and waffles with honey butter, my son got the mini breakfast with pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs, I also got two bottles of orange juice. When I sat back down I realized I wanted some potatoes so I used the code to order home fries. The orange juice would be better if it was Simply Orange, that Tropicana orange juice has no business even calling itself orange juice, that's orange drink...but I digress. The food came out pretty quickly, everything was hot. The chicken was fried perfectly, very crispy and flavorful. The waffle tasted homemade, no Eggo over here! I didn't even need syrup because it had such a good flavor. My son liked his breakfast, his pancakes were huge. The home fries came to the table and they looked like boiled potatoes, I was let down by the look but they actually tasted better than they looked, seasoned properly and the skin was crispy. I just wish they had added some green pepper and onions. My older son didn't come with us so i ordered him food to go, he got the P&W special with chocolate chip pancakes. The omelette was huge, he's a teenage boy and couldn't eat the whole thing lol This place does not accept cash, just fyi because I saw at least one person leave because all they had was cash. Definitely worth the visit, I'd come again! read more

We tried to give them a second chance because the one in Aiea we love. But it was another disappointment. Ordered our food, waited 35 minutes wondering where our food was and then when we asked what was going on, they said it'll be another 25 minutes. 55 minute wait for breakfast food?? Nope, sorry... we asked for a refund and left. Cashier then argued saying they told us up front that it was a 55 minute wait but that was not true. If we knew it was going to be a wait, we wouldn't have ordered because we were starving. Not coming to this location anymore. The Aiea one has a good flow but this one is not operated well. read more

Needed a spot that opened early so we could make it to our Pearl Harbor reservations and this place opened at 6:30 compared to most places opening at 7 and was open on Sunday.. We were the only ones eating in the restaurant, they seem to do a a lot of To-go orders... you can order at the counter but I noticed on the tables there is a scannable code to order and pay from the table.. Portions didn't disappointed... I had the spinach bacon cheese omelette and subbed for pancakes for $2 and got a 3 stack... my husband had the waffle combo... the pancakes did taste better than the waffle.. Only thing that would have elevated the food more would have been some syrup options because syrup wasn't that good, I mean this is a pancake and waffle restaurant.. I saw some mixed reviews about free refills .. we did get free refills but it might depend on how busy they are since I only noticed the one coffee pot. read more

Traveling from California We were shocked by the size and quality of the food. The food was just amazing. The chicken was HUGE and very flavorful. The pancakes are perfect pair with the chicken. Pork Loco Moco was insanely soft and juicy. The ambiance and staff were very friendly. I would definitely come back here again. read more

My husband and I came here after arriving to Honolulu. I ordered the corn bread waffles and the fried chicken. He had the crab Cake with scrambled eggs and a side of cornbread waffles. The food was really good. The corn bread waffles were cooked to perfection! My husband enjoyed the crab cakes and scrambled eggs. I would definitely recommend coming to this spot. I just ordered The chicken sandwich. Their sign said $5.45 but they charged me $5.95 plus tax. When I asked about ithey told me it's $5.95 and the sign was wrong. Talk about false advertising. Anyway it's hard to compare their sandwiches against other fast food chicken sandwiches because they use thigh meat while the others use breast meat. I thought the chicken sandwich was okay but nothing I'd keep going back to buy. And their spicy sauce was not very spicy. read more

I had the Shrimp & Grits Bowl, and it was outstanding. And shoutout to the beef sausage... Absolutely delicious! From the moment we arrived before the doors opened until the time we left, the owner and the entire team were outstanding. The hospitality was genuine, the food was exceptional, and they even went out of their way to make the experience extra special for our 2-year-old and our 8-year-old. We're visiting from St. Louis, and this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you for the amazing food, the warm hospitality, and the memories. We'll definitely be back....before we leave. If you're looking for breakfast, stop comparing stats; this place is the undisputed GOAT.

There's a topping station where you can add toppings like chia seeds and honey to the acai bowl too. It's unlimited! Mr. C, the man that runs the place, is also super kind and welcoming. Whenever I bring a new person, he offers them a sample of the acai so they can try it before deciding what to get. Waffle and berry is in the middle of Waikiki. You'll have to go down some stairs to find it, but it's worth hunting down to try! There's lots of seating available and a turtle in a tank in the store to keep you company while you enjoy your sweet treat.

Well, the Monkeypod Kitchen Mai Tai is that "song" for me. No matter how many months pass between trips to Hawaii, it's the one thing I'm always craving. First stop after our five plus hour flight is to always sit at the bar and hum my way through a Mai Tai. We've tried competitors' Mai Tais, but Monkeypod has THE BEST Mai Tai on the island (possibly the country)! It contains a double shot of rum, so pace yourself if you're a lightweight. What makes this extraordinary is the lilikoi (passion fruit) foam on the top. It's the reason I am "passion"ately in love with this cocktail. We've eaten at a table in their main dining room, however, we really enjoy bar seating during Happy Hour, which is from 3:30pm-5:00pm, daily (except select holidays) and again from 9:00pm-11:00pm. It is first come first serve at the bar. If you prefer table seating, be sure to make a reservation. The wait can be long without one. Their Happy Hour items include all of their appetizers at half price, excluding any seafood. Cocktails are $4 off, beers $2 off, wine by the glass $3 off and the pizzas (excluding the Bourgeois) are $17. All of the items we've tried are super delicious and the bartenders are all very friendly and professional. They also provide live music daily, at 12:30pm, 3:30pm and 7:30pm. Live music always adds such a refreshing and lively atmosphere, perfect for those vacationing vibes. LOOOOOOOVVVVVVE this place!!!!! My family and I eat here a lot as the food is really good and they have great breakfast special's. But I called in an order this morning and my experience was awful! I called it in about 15 minutes before I got there. When I walked in i saw my order sitting on the counter already. There was one person in line which the cashier helped. I was on my way into work so i was kimd of in a rush,When it was my turn the cashier turned her back to me and started packing up other food orders then went ahead and delivered food to two different tables. She finally came back to the counter and I told her I had called in my order. By this time there was a women in line behind me. The cashier rang me up and I paid her, she gave me my change and then just looked at the lady in back of me, kind of like a que for me to move! As my order is still sitting on the counter. So I moved out of the line and she helped the women behind me. After the lady paid the cashier turns her back again and is looking thru her orders. My order is still sitting on the counter. Then she starts asking the cooks about my order. They start looking thru there receipts l. Finally the cook had to come out of the back and he sees it sitting there and he tells her "it's right there"! She tells him sorry grabs the bag and just hands it to me like nothing, no sorry, no thanks for waiting nothing! So I walk out thinking ok maybe she just started but I was still a bit irritated. It gets worst, I drive over to work open the bag to eat and there is no napkins and no utensils in sight! Ugh that really got me! It's sad cause I really loved eating here and at all my other visits there the staff is WONDERFUL! Its so sad how one bad worker can ruin a restaurant! We went with a pretty big group because we had some friends in town for a wedding. I suggested we go somewhere else because it was a weekend and they don't do reservations because they're a take out restaurant. I heard it gets busy on the weekends so I knew it was going to be a mess. But lo and behold, it was the best big group eating experience I had! It was busy as I had expected but the tables opened up pretty quickly. And because its not a dine in type restaurant, it was comfortable to just walk over to the other end of the table and eat, I mean "try" my friend's food. And I could just walk up and get free refills. So comfortable and kind of like being at a friend's house. The food was great and everyone was full and happy. Sometimes its hard to decide where to take people who are visiting because there are more things to consider like, is the restaurant large group friendly, kid friendly, easy to find parking, is there a range of food so everyone can find something to eat, is it somewhere they won't be able to find back home? This is one more to my list of places to take the visitors to (and it won't make you broke). read more

We stopped by on a weekend and were pleasantly surprised by how easy and convenient the ordering process was--you can either order at the counter or scan the QR code at your table. The food came out quickly, and everything was fresh and flavorful. We tried the spinach, bacon, and cheese omelette; the vegetarian omelette; and the loco moco. Each dish was well-prepared and satisfying--the omelets were fluffy and packed with ingredients, and the loco moco had that perfect balance of savory gravy, tender beef patty, and a perfectly cooked egg. A friend wanted eat lunch and said to meet him and another friend at Pancake and Waffles at the City Square Center in Kalihi. He told me they're known for their fried chicken. Boy, was he correct! My first time there and I ordered the fried chicken plate. Three bumbucha pieces! I finished it and ordered 5 pieces for take home. I don't know what's in the recipe but I thought if I reheat in the microwave, it'll be tough and dry but what the heck. I was pleasantly surprised that even after zapping it in the microwave for 2 minutes, it was still juicy, tender and all soooo good! Now I know where to get my fried chicken. Always great service, always with a smile. Their local dishes are the bomb! Short Rib Beef Stew, Kalbi Loco Moco, Honey Butter Chicken & Corn Bread Waffles ... the list goes on and on. They do have the standard breakfast menu - bacon & eggs, waffles, French toast, pancakes, eggs Benedict. It was a packed house... I was amazed at how smoothly everything went. Tables got wiped up quickly and our food came out quick too. Waffle benedict: Yum! Churro waffle: Double yum!! The chips tasted fresh and homemade, and I even used some of the tuna that fell out of the sandwich as a dip for the chips, which was yummy! The staff was friendly, and I appreciated how easy it was to place an order by phone and pick it up without any hassle. Parking was also a breeze, plenty of stalls available next to the building, so there was no need to worry about finding parking. Overall, Leilei's is definitely a treat yourself type of meal. It's one of my favorite sandwich spots now!

The location itself doesn't have a lot of seating space, so it seems best set up for takeout, but it is a pleasantly bright space and the outdoor seating seems like it would be nice as they're not on a main throughfare. It's far from where my family lives on the island that we stay with when we're visiting, but next time we're near Ala Moana around lunchtime, we'll definitely stop by for some vegan goodies!
