I'm not sure what I was expecting exactly.... but it's essentially a slightly bougier version of Panda Express with a tea bar haha. They do offer healthier items (like salad and quinoa) but they still have all the classics. The food was good, I got lucky and got a fresh batch of the chow mein and orange chicken right as it came out of the kitchen. They tasted the same as the other locations I've eaten at. However, the eggplant tofu was a little different. It tasted less tangy and more savory, which I didn't mind. We also tried the Panda Milk Tea which was surprisingly good. It wasn't overly sweet and the boba was soft and slightly sweet. The only issue I had was when we were paying. My boyfriend and I ordered together but for some reason they rang us up separately. I had already paid and thought I had also paid for him and as I was walking away, I realized they were about to charge him separately. Not sure why they thought to do that. read more

Everyone knows what to expect at Panda Express, unless you've been living under a rock for the past 10 years. I like the chicken with veggies and the steak entrees and I never was a big fan of the orange chicken. But this time I marched in an tried the Beyond Orange Chicken. This had a great texture and flavor -- more like soy sauce favored not orange, Orange Chicken. It was really tasty, with great flavor and a touch of heat. Paired that with the green beans with chunks of tofu and you're into vegetarian style. Don't laugh. Panda Express knows what they are doing and they pulled off a substitute, plant-based chicken! I know you don't believe me. Try it yourself. This particular Panda Express is cleaner and better staffed than other locations. Plus they have umpteen varieties of tea!! I also like they allow veggies instead of rice. They cater to the customer more than other fast food places. Check this new "Beyond" entree or just go for what you like. It's all good. It was busy when I went in about sometime after 3 PM today. Young lady behind the line was running back-and-forth doing her best to help everyone as fast as she could while at the same time she was attentive and friendly. amongst all the craziness she went out of her way to make sure I had what I ordered, she went above and beyond to make the customer happy. Went here with a couple of friends for a late lunch. The atmosphere is welcoming and music was at a good level. I like this Panda Express because it actually comes with a tea/boba bar. Super disappointed in this location. I used to come here once or twice a week. Next to NO options for vegans, even the quinoa has egg in it :(. I asked for tofu and was told they won't be serving it at this location because there's no room for it. Whaaaaat??? Make room for it!!! I've personally never been a fan of Panda Express, but after visiting this location my thoughts might have changed. The food here is great, very different from the usual Panda Express(es) I've been to, and is definitely of better quality. This location is considered an innovation kitchen meaning they have a healthier spin allowing their customers to have more healthy choices. I really enjoyed their quinoa rice substitute. I really appreciated that they allowed their customers to have samples since some of their dishes are new and most people probably have never had before. Although they added new dishes/sides to their menu they also kept their original dishes like the orange chicken and broccoli beef so for those of you that would prefer the original Panda you are still in luck. I can see that Panda is trying to appeal to a wider range of people (oldies and newer more health conscious/younger customers) by adding new entrees and very popular teas/drinks i.e. matcha and boba. I had a chance to try some of them and thought they were great, but personally would've requested a reduction in sugar. There's plenty of parking in the back and on the street during night times. The renovation makes the store look really upscale, very clean, and very appealing. The customer service here is also very attentive (they bring your drinks to you!) and helpful when it came to my questions about the new dishes. I'd highly recommend trying this out because it certainly did change my view on Panda Express. read more

New location!! They actually just moved right next door. The new place looks modern, clean and I love the new feel of it. I went a little before lunch hour and I am glad that I did- the line can get super long! Especially with people trying to check it out for the first time. Everyone was really nice and friendly. At the end of the day, the food is still the same (I always get orange chicken- yum!) but with new options such as a salad, burrito and the new tea bar. I did try two of the teas- the Panda Milk Tea and the Hibiscus Green Tea. I wasn't too please with the milk tea. Something was missing but I couldn't tell what. I think it was too watered down. However, the Hibiscus Green Tea was delicious and I would highly recommend it! So refreshing and you can taste the Hibiscus. The staff members were really nice and friendly and they made sure to greet you as you walked in. The service was a bit slower- but it is only because they have new employees (we have all been there!) With time, I am sure that the ordering will be flawless. I was excited to see that they converted this Panda Express to a Panda Express + Tea location. I used to make the trek to the East Pasadena location jist for the yummy steak salad. I came here tonight expecting to get the same salad since that exact salad is shown in this location's yelp pictures. To my disappointment, I was told they do not carry steak at this location. I am not going to complain they should all carry the same items at this location, but why post a picture if you are not going to offer it? The picture was posted by the restaurant. I ordered the salad with mandarin chicken and am pleased with the end result, but I wish they didn't include stock pictures if they weren't planning on offering the food in the location. read more

Loveee this new Panda Express. Everything is clean, decor is modern, service is great and the food is even better! I had the bing, which is a green onion pancake with whatever entree you want to put inside, I went with chow mein, Orange chicken, and kung pao. The orange chicken was crispy and tangy unlike other places where I've had soggy orange chicken. I also tried their creme brûlée milk tea with boba, a little on the sweet side, but definitely delicious ! I'll be back again ! read more

UPDATE 10/24/2018: Why would I update a one-star review and leave it as a one-star review? Did I return to this location after having such a horrible experience only to have another horrible experience? No. The reason I came back to reaffirm my opinion on this terrible establishment is twofold: First, I really don't like what the manager did replying to my review. He pretended like my bad experience was uncommon. Part of what's wrong with the place is the floorplan. They built the place to be unpleasant, so it's not like that's going to change anytime soon. Then, he offered me a free meal. I NEVER WANT TO COME BACK. Why would I take you up on a free meal? You couldn't pay to eat here again. Second, I haven't been back on Yelp since I wrote this review. This experience kind of turned me off to writing reviews. It soiled the entire Yelp experience. Seeing myself pile on negative comments about a restaurant felt bad. It got worse when I imagined what it might look like to a poor kid who went without dinner. "Oh, you felt a little cramped? The food was a little cold? I ate out of a dumpster last night. A dumpster." I realize part of that isn't Panda's fault. But they started it. They got the ball rolling, allowing my conscience to take over. And this used to be a great place. All they had to do was not change it. Anyway, don't go here. It's horrible. Any other Panda is better. Also, donate to charity. While we're all trying to find the tastiest meal, there are plenty of people who can't afford food at all. *********** ORIGINAL REVIEW: Look through my reviews and you will see that I am not one to rag on a place for no reason. I don't like to leave bad reviews. But, I do not like this new version of Panda Express. First, they got rid of one of my favorite menu items. There's pretty much only Orange Chicken left as a meat choice (which is the best meat they have, but I usually like to get something else along with it). The new layout is cramped compared to the old Panda Express that used to be here. If you show up to pick up an online order, you practically have to stand on top of the customers who are checking out through the regular line, which isn't comfortable for anyone involved. The biggest problem is how they handle online orders. If you order for 6 p.m., most of your food will be set aside by 5:45 p.m. You'll see it there waiting for you, but you can't take it yet because they are waiting on a meat or side that isn't ready yet. So half your order gets cold while you wait until 6:10 to get your order. Thanks for the cold food. If I were you, I'd stick to the regular Panda Express. read more

2 stars because at least I can say the employees weren't a-holes. Considering this panda has the highest reviews in my area, I was expecting at least hot food. The good thing was, I ordered online so I didn't have to wait to pick up my order. Online ordering is pretty simple plus, they give you time options for what time you want to pick up your food. Looks like a perk for the customer but turns out to be pointless. I selected my time, and arrived to pick up my order at the exact time specified. The bad thing is, it was obviously sitting there so long that all the ice was melted in my drink. All of my food was cold and there was no teriyaki sauce on my teriyaki chicken so it was not only cold, but also dry and borderline hard. An awesome change to the Panda formula! Love going 1/2 quinoa fried brown rice and 1/2 kale veggies. Portions are the same as Panda Express, just uses the new packaging. They have a few staples (Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken) as well as stuff they keep swapping out (Steak & Shrimp, Pork Belly). Definitely recommend for those who love panda and want to eat a little healthier! Wow. The best version of panda express I have ever tasted in my life. All of the fried food was so crispy and fresh. (Orange chicken, walnut shrimp). Quinoa fried rice was so fluffy and healthy tasting. I know this is panda express but it seriously tasted better than some fancy chinese restaurants. The honey glazed pork belly was amazing... it is extremely tender on the inside (melts in your mouth) but crispy on the outside. The sauce is not too cloyingly sweet but flavorful. Tastes better than fancy restaurant pork belly. The green ginger scallion sauce is amazing and something ive never tasted before. I literally dipped everything in that sauce.. its that good Boba teas are a pretty good addition. The sparkling yogurt drink was unique and not too sweet. I wish they add sea salt cream teas to their menu!! read more

Don't live closeby and so as I was driving through town I decided to grab that burrito only to be rudely told "they stopped doing that". This place was awesoeme you have not experienced panda like this... it's a must try. I got a burrito (BING) with half half Beijing beef and orange chicken, wow, what a new way to eat panda. I also got teas, the hibiscus tea the flavor was good but to be honest it tasted like I got sprayed in my mouth with perfume ( it's a very distinct flavor that's takes getting used to) and I also got the lemon ginger sparkling tea This was more bearable warning it dose have a lot of ginger so if you cant handle the spicy ginger taste let them know to add a little this one was good to me I like ginger. What a fun and bright place to eat. A wall of freshly cut veggies. The company history on the wall. Interesting dishes and yummy teas. Can't wait to go back! This restaurant has only been open for a few weeks. They did a nice job providing great service. One item: we observed cyclists dining and they had no place to store their bicycles. Suggest providing wall hanging posts inside or racks outside. This would be a nice addition. We'd ride instead of driving. read more

First time visiting Panda that had a Tea Bar as well...I mean wow this Panda really delivers..they have way menu options than not Panda's. You could have wraps, you could have salads, They offer healthier sides like brussels and carrots and or Quinoa fried rice. Meal cooked and prepped was good. My only complaint is food handling there is why doesn't anyone wear gloves?..i watched a few times food touch the hands and still keep the food be prepping our orders, even the cashier. Might of be me or maybe there is other customers too but I went Wednesday night at about 14 before closing time and this lady appears to be the person in charge she was nice offered me a sample which I did try their new chk didn't like it, asked for a Bigger plate since my daughter loves chowmein I wanted to take her some. I was not happy with the portion size she was putting me in my Plate. I asked for double orange chk it looked like she just added a few more pieces of it instead of double. I waited for the walnut shrimp since it's my favorite. Meanwhile I was waiting this guy approached the counter and order his Bigger plate too. He order chowmein beef broccoli and orange chk. I notice the girl over stuffed his plate to the point where the lid almost didn't close. I'm like wait a minute why she did that to his plate and to mine she almost counted the pieces of chk she was putting in there. I felt that she had favoritism towards him than me. I'm a regular customer and never put bad complains on this restaurant but had to put it out there so the management can train their employees right. I felt the portion size I got wasn't worth the $10 I pay for my plate. Watch out when you order on line. If you are not there on time your food will sit on a counter in the heat. That is not good for food safety temperatures. Especially chicken. They refused to use my cup and said that they could make my drink in the single use cup which defeats the purpose of why I brought it in the first place.
