ive been to panera in coronado and in grossmont center. This panera is nice, friendly service but my soup was lukewarm. mehhhhh

I'd like to thank the manager of this Panera location, Lisamarie, for assisting me with the issue described below and for working towards making things right. As mentioned in my previous post, I had placed an online pick-up order only to find the location closed upon arrival (the website didn't indicated they had moved, so I wasn't able to get my order). It took three times of me calling customer service, but I was finally able to get a hold of the manager and explained the situation. Lisamarie was apologetic and offered a full refund, but the only challenge for me was that I don't live in Eastlake (I only go to this location when I'm in the are for work) and she could only process the refund at the store. Therefore, she offered to send a message to the manager of the Panera location closest to where I live, so that I could go a get a meal replacement. When I finally showed up yesterday, I was convinced that I'd be told they didn't have any notes, and that I'd waste my time. To my surprise, I was greeted by a very friendly manager and she basically told me to order whatever I wanted and that my meal would be on them. I wasn't even going to order a drink because my original order (the one I never got) didn't include a drink, but she told me she'd throw in a drink as well. I'm still not updating this review to 5 stars because it did take effort and a time investment on my end, but I am very appreciative of their customer service and efforts to make up. read more

Okay Panera. I wasn't going to write a bad review, but I just got home with my to go order and I am over it. I placed a "rapid pick up" order tonight and the service was far from it. I made the mistake of ordering bagels with my dinner and guess what, half of what I ordered they were out of. I asked for a refund and I was told they couldn't just refund the bagels... so now I am stuck with bagels I won't even eat... thanks for that. Now it gets better, I check my dinner to make sure it's correct and there was no baguette with my soup nor cheese and croutons. I get my cheese and croutons but guess what, they were also out of baguettes. Awesome. I then noticed I didn't have the candied cookie I ordered and was regrettably informed they were out of those too. Strike number three. So now, I'm home, about to enjoy my soup, and I open up my bread bowl to see it BARELY cut around the top. Seriously? And my soup is going to go where? On a happy note, the lady that was helping me was lovely. Happy Friday the 13th to me. read more

I don't get the hype. The asiagio bagel with cream cheese I had was actually pretty good, but the clam chowder...bleh. I'm from New England, so I naturally order chowder anytime I see it on a menu. It was milky and runny and missing a whole lot of flavor. It didn't even come with oyster crackers for some much needed texture. I thought it was cool that something we ordered came with chips, but the only flavor they had was plain, yawn. My boyfriend ordered some kind of chicken sandwich and there was barely any meat at all. A dinky sandwich, a bagel, and a small cup of clam chowder ran us 15 bucks, we didn't even have any beverages. This place might be good for breakfast fare, but for lunch, you might leave still hungry. read more

I really like the food here but the service was kind of all over the place at this location. Ordering seemed difficult for the girl on the register; she asked my aunt three times if she wanted chips, bread, or an apple but still didn't get it right. When our food came out, my aunt and I both received the wrong side. I had wanted fruit, which she had gotten and she had wanted bread, which I had. No big deal since we could just switch. I had a soup and she had a salad but neither of us had been given utensils. My aunt flagged down a server walking by to ask but he returned with to-go boxes instead. Maybe he just didn't hear? I do wish he had clarified if he felt unsure but regardless, we received utensils the second time around. All in all, I do enjoy Panera's sandwiches but I might try out a different location. read more

This will be the last time we will go to Panera's at the Otay Ranch location. There were several employees, but only one cashier taking orders. There were 3 people in front of us. The cashier was tending to the first customer (slicing her bread loaves, etc). He did noticed a line forming and did nothing such as acknowledging us, picking up the pace or calling for back up. This is a reflection on the manager not training employees correctly or the employee not taking their training to task. On two occasions they have run out of soup and/or chips and even certain dessert items two hours before closing. I rather drive to the Panera on Broadway at the CV Shopping Center. It's spacious, cleaner, faster, and the cashier's are friendlier. read more

The food is delicious (I especially love the breakfast power sandwich), the restaurant is clean, and the customer service is second to none. We love Panera! We usually come for Sunday breakfasts. Their cinnamon crunch bagel, toasted with cream cheese is the best! And so are the egg souffles! We've never met an egg souffle we didn't like! Their "You pick two" combos are also great. This past weekend, I tried their new steak chili with cornbread. The chili alone was ok (where's the steak?!") but paired with the cornbread made up for the lack of the steak in the steack chili! We will continue to be loyal customers because we enjoy the food, our kids love the broccoli cheddar soup and it's very close to our house! read more

Had lunch yesterday with my husband. Ordered 'u pick 2' meal which included the chicken Cesar salad and French onion soup. My husband got the chipotle panini and the Classic Cesar. The croutons were stale. Like totally totally totally stale. Doesn't anyone taste the ingredients before using them? Ruined the whole meal. The salad portions were weird too. There was more dressing than lettuce. I feel like whoever was back there seriously didn't give a shit and threw together our meals in a huge rush cause it's panera and who cares right? Psh. First time at this Panera and it's the last. I ordered an Asiago Steak sandwich and was highly disappointed. I felt like my sandwich was just pulled out of the fridge and re-wrapped in the sandwich paper. It was cold. Seriously, you couldn't even toast the bread or warm up the Steak? This is for poor customer service. As my husband and I went into panera bread, I asked for a specific item off the menu. Now, the cashier was rude with his tone because I was trying to order something off the breakfast menu and he said, "We don't serve breakfast right now." So I asked him what time the breakfast menu starts and ends since the times were not on the main board. After the fact the cashier told us the time it started and ended, he was very impatient that we didn't order right away due to other customers in line. As a customer service representative myself, I feel like this situation was not executed to which customer service is held. There's a difference between informing the customer that unfortunately breakfast isn't sold at this time, versus to be impatient with the customer when the time is NOT posted on the board titled BREAKFAST. read more

I've been a Panera fan for at least ten years but that officially changed yesterday. I'm in sales and at least once a week I drop goodies off to my clients. I prefer to point out the pastries that I'd like and have them boxed based on where they're going so I go through the line vs use a kiosk. Two weeks ago, I was directed from the line to the kiosk by a very pleasant employee. It was a disaster. I kept trying to point out what I wanted and he kept directing me to the screen and speaking like I was a toddler. I was trying to explain that I wanted them grouped and boxed a certain way and he kept pointing to the screen. Long story short, the order took forever, it was wrong and the pastries were in bags not boxes. They left the cream cheese and my bagel out completely. Yesterday, I stopped in to place an order and was told that the "full service" line is cash only. I won't be back. Management clearly doesn't understand the value of up selling based on visual appeal. Hans & Harry it is. read more

I absolutely love Panera Bread! I ran across this place by accident a few years ago after a hair appt. at my salon which is located 2 doors up from Panera. It's now a ritual every time I have a hair appt, I head to Panera afterwards for lunch. Panera's food is FANTASTIC. The best soups and sandwiches I've ever had and the portions are HUGE (and worth every penny!). The service is wonderful and I love the chill atmosphere of the place. It's one of my top fave places to eat in Otay Ranch. read more

Loved this place a lot! Great warm and welcoming atmosphere. Came here after a good gym day with some friends and was surprised that they had the calories right on the menu (cool points!) Ordered their Asian Sesame Chicken Salad (YP2: 200 cal Whole salad:400 cal). Tables were nice and comfy and had our food within a few minutes. Servers are nice and chill (some awkward too, but it made the whole experience a lot more fun). So glad this place is near my house. I will definitely be coming here more often! read more

Whenever I'm in the mood for a fresh, inexpensive meal I come here. Although there are several Panera's in San Diego I consider this one to be "my Panera." I would give it 5 stars but sometimes the tables are a bit dirty or still have cups and plates on them but besides that, I love it. read more

The food here is great and doesn't make you feel bloated when you leave. Their sandwiches and salads are all fresh and made to order. I also like their green iced tea drink. Free re-fills on the green tea is a plus! They have free wifi, but if you decide to come eat and study I do not recommend it. Their wifi is really slow and sometimes hard to connect to. Their service is great. The waiters/waitresses are attentive and they try to make sure you are having a great dining experience. read more

This is the only Panera I've ever been to that keeps the iced coffee apart from the iced tea. Walking back and forth from the ice machine to the iced coffee is a minor inconvenience but it still bugs the hell out of me. Please move it closer to the ice machine. Also your internet sucks. read more

So it took me 40 minutes to get out the "manager" was horribly rude like I should be happy about their error and not even an apology. I've only recently started coming here, and after a few visits, I have experienced the same kind of weirdness during all of them. The decor is nice, the food seems decent and the prices are reasonable... but the staff they mostly have there is very junior. They all seem extremely young and lack confidence. You ask them a question, like "What kinds of tea do you have?" and they kind of mumble, fumble and seem uncomfortable. No biggie, it's just a cafe after all, but this is why I'm only giving this Panera 3 out of 5 stars. read more

I haven't been here for 4 years. We came here today and was promptly reminded why. Girlfriend had the soup, which was cold. On a side note, they do have a microwave under the coffee station, which I suppose you could use to heat up your cold soup. Maybe it's there solely because they serve so much cold soup. Grilled cheese looked and tasted like it was microwaved, probably in the aforementioned microwave, with only half a slice of cheese. 7 bucks for that sorry excuse of a sandwich. Probably 1 dollar for every minute it spent in the microwave, which created the inedible rock that sat on the plate before us. The highlight of the meal was our green passion smoothie. OMG so delicious! the new fall harvest salad and soups are so good. they service is FAST i couldn't believe how quickly they brought out the food. prices are a little high but everything is fresh so its worth it. the breakfast souffles are amazing. the backed cookies and all the pastries are so good. my only complaint is that i asked for a flavored mayo or sauce or honey mustard for my turkey sandwhich and was told they dont have anything like that. next time i go back my friend asked for a signature mayo and they had it. so all the employees need to be on the same page and knowledgeable of the menu. read more

Pretty solid Panera bread and it does not stray from the average. Would give a 4 but the wait time on average is pretty ridiculous.
