Panera has really gone down hill. My daughter got a quinoa salad, and I'm not exaggerating, it had a tablespoon of quinoa, about a teaspoon of feta and an ounce of chicken. Mostly lettuce, for $13.29. Really! I ordered a bowl of soup. This bowl was maybe, half way full. My cup of soup, her bowl of mostly lettuce, and 2 drinks, was $30.00. Ridiculous. Half a sandwich and half a salad. My go to is the chipotle chicken avocado on a ciabatta and the Chinese salad. I love that Chinese chicken salad. It's so light and fresh! That dressing is so balanced but not overpowering and lightly compliments the actual lettuce/salad. I HATE a heavy salad dressing, this is not one of those. I'm a sucker for a good chewy chocolate chip cookie. And this Panera always has deceivingly soft looking cocochip cookies but they are always HARD AS A ROCK! I don't get it! Noise can very from : "perfect amount of background noise so I could study" to "goddamn, it's like a train station in here" so it's a hit or miss when I'm trying to get some work done while grabbing a bite. Clean and quick service. My one thing is just the bussing of tables. Can someone please inform me if we are supposed to bus our own tables or leave it cause I put my dishes away and I see a shit ton of people leave their dishes on the table.... this is the mystery of Panera. read more

Just ordered through Door Dash and it will be my last time ordering from Panera. We got soup, mac n cheese and half of what was supposed to be a chicken salad sandwich. It was more like a lettuce and tomato sandwich. It was packaged/wrapped so tightly in paper that it was a soggy mess by the time we got it. None of the food quality was worth the $$$. This place has definitely gone downhill since it opened. The last few times I came here there's always something missing or they're out of it. Most of the time it feels like they want to close up early enough to go home. Food hasn't been quite as consistent in quality, but it's decent enough. The customer service is terrible though and it shows. Went through the drive thru today 8/24/22 at 7:45pm according to the receipt. I had to repeat myself several times due to the cashier was busy laughing with coworkers (that's how I was greeted while ordering). She definitely wasn't paying attention also missed adding part of my order, at least I wasn't charged for it but after confirming it twice you would think it'd be there, but nope! When I pulled up to the window you could see the all the workers having a good time, which I'm all for making work fun, but don't let it affect the business. Went to this panera yesterday it was about 5ish wanted to go thru the drive thru... The young lady that took my order was very nice polite great customer service... When I got to the window it was not the same young lady.. she was not nice at all no customer service at all.... I was so disappointed ... I think this lady needs to review tapes to get her skills back up and then on top of that I didn't get my croutons for my French onion soup.. can't go without those ... This place is going downhill fast. Visited twice this weekend and both times service was awful. My oatmeal was cold barely warm on edges. No plastic ware given through drive-thru which made life challenging. But today was the icing on the cake. I am not a fan of their new breakfast menu...we bought to breakfast sandwiches missing the main ingredient EGG! They charge extra to scramble your egg...Quality control needs to be checked here, inside and out! I trust when I drive thru I should get the meal I asked for and be able to eat as I drive. I usually never have a bad experience with any other bread location.I love that they have a the rapid pick up. For some weird reason there's always something going wrong at the Downey location. When they first opened they were on top of things never had a problem. I could have given them five stars at the time. I'm not the only person who's experience this. My friends have experience bad service as well. I did the online pickup and I arrive like 15mins later than what I had expected. I was looking to pick up my order and it wasn't there. I waited until one of the witnesses came by and asked about my order. 10mins later the manager asks what my order was went to the back and got it for me. She said there was some going on with there system. They didn't get my order? Yet I had a screen shot of what I ordered? If you like excuses, being looked at weird and judged. Very clean restaurant. It was crowded as I arrived during lunch time but the staff was still on it quickly. The representative that took my order was very nice, polite and took my order correctly. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Thai Salad and Tomato Soup. The salad is my favorite and when it arrived to my table quickly, it was fresh and well done. Just went through the drive thru with my mother in law. We ordered 1 Asiago bacon egg and cheese sandwich. 1 ham egg and cheese on ciabatta bread, 1 dark roast coffee, and 1 pumpkin spice latte. The girl taking our order was very rude and short with her answers to our questions. I get to the window and they hand us a bag with 1 Asiago sandwich that wasn't fully cooked or cheese melted and a regular bacon egg and cheese sandwich. They take them back to correct them and we end up with 1 corrected Asiago bacon sandwich and 1 ham egg and cheese on wheat bread. I told the guy at the window this is not ciabatta bread. He responded with yes it is! Do you want to switch it to wheat? I said this is on wheat bread!?! I was so fed up we spent about 15-20 mins in the drive thru so we just left. If I'm going to spend $6 on a breakfast sandwich, I'd prefer my order is corrected with out any arguing. Definitely one of the worst Panera's. First... really Bad service. And worse, we ordered a flatbread pizza and it was made very poorly. The bakery here is barley that (they only had 2 items to choose from). Over all, bad service, food poorly made and bakery is nonexistent. read more

Ordered on the app went in to pick up my order waited 30 mins for it. Inquired on my order was told I was the last order and will still have to wait about 10-15 more. Person behind the window was busting his butt trying is hardest. A previous customer inquired about the wait time Jason what looked like to be a manager was very rude to him all he did was repeat to the man " we are short staff" then rudely walked away. Upon requesting my refund Jason once again was rude repeated himself like 5-6 times "we are short staff" I couldn't get a word in he'd cut you off and automatically replied " we are short staffed" another 5-6 times. I finally asked for his name he wrote in down and refused to give me his last name. I told him I spent my whole lunch waiting no need to be rude and he looked up at me and said " so I don't get a lunch" . Do not waste your time trying to order delivery an HOUR before closing they just continuously cancel. I have a loved one at home who can't eat solids due to dental surgery. Nice easy place. Good food good service...only issue was the people on their laptops taking up the booths. They were taking up premium seating. GO TO STARBUCKS!!!!! For the most part, the service is either good or really good. I had to be particular in ordering for my senior mom and they accommodated. Their coffee in the afternoons is watery. It's cold weather and you would think Panera bread would get it together. I asked for 5 things on the menu and of course they are out. Its 8pm no bread bowls no pastries and a manager that can't do anything for you. I went to 2 locations and it was the same b.s. I guess rainy days don't mean anything to these franchises. They only make stuff for limited times. Obviously everything goes before 8pm and they don't bake anything past that. The ones in Whittier and La Mirada have way better Customer service. I love Panera (see my other 5 star review), but this visit was not up to their previous standards. Music was too loud. Some of us come here for morning meetings and to have a nice cup of coffee. This time, music was so loud we had to speak very loud to hear each other over the speakers. Seems management decided everyone likes the type of music they play constantly. I went to day through the drive thru to this Panera location. When I asked for some hummus the cashier named Mellisa told me I would have to pay $1 for each tiny container of hummus. I have been going to Panera for a very long time and this was the first time I was told it was going to be $1 for each tiny container. When I told her that there usually is no cost for them she responded to me with a "Well they should". I honestly don't know if this is a change and they started charging but her response unclear. I love Panera Bread and I love that this location has a drive thru. Now don't get me wrong, it is a little pricey but I usually love their food here. So why the 2 stars? I ordered 2 salads, which took longer than it should have (I was in the drive thru and the guy was nice at least and kept apologizing)...but anyway, I get all the way home and lo and behold, I have the salad but no dressing. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! How could they forget to put the dressing in with the salad? Dry salad is not good. I understand that things get busy but it was an unfortunate oversight. SLOWEST PANERA I'VE EVER BEEN TO. Food is what you'd expect from a Panera, but it has taken me over 15 minutes multiple times to get a simple pasta. One time, I waited over 25 minutes and still did not receive my food. When I asked an employee about it, I was told their system had a glitch for a few seconds which made them lose track of what food went where so they just didn't attempt to find it. I had to wait for them to re-make my pasta and bring it out to me. They offered a free pastry, but at that point I just wanted to eat and take my baby home for her nap. I have been to this panera twice so far and I had an amazing experience the first time I came here. The last time I came here they messed up my roasted turkey and BLT sandwich and when I told the staff they forgot to add the bacon. They were apologetic, added the bacon to my sandwich and brought it out to me all in a span of maybe 2 minutes. read more

I love how most of the booths have an outlet! I love love love coming to Panera to study! Lots of students study here. The best part is that you don't have to get up to order your food! If you have the app, you can order right from your table which is SO CONVENIENT!! keeps you full while you're busy working and studying :) kinda gets busy around dinner time but does down. Plenty of seating here and on the right side there's a more lounge-y area with couches. I wanted to sit there but they were all taken. Can't wait to come back and study some more since finals week is coming up soon!! read more
