I like that all their food is fresh and tasty. I mostly go there for breakfast, so coffee , bagels, muffins and souffles are all good. I like you can order ahead or if there is a line, they have tablets/ipads to order and pay. read more

First i want to add this review because i really like this place and I want the staff to improve. 1. Plain bagel run out (not a big deal) 2. Switched to Asiago cheese bagel (plan B) but not my best choice becuase never tried it before. 3. Server informed us they run out of plan B Asiago cheese bagel. End up with Blueberry bagel. 4. Our food came and noticed there's some sort of Mold on top of my bread. 5. Informed the server and all she told us was:" did you want a different bread with it instead?" What kind of customer service is that? Not the response that i was expecting but i guess that's how they were trained handling situations like that. First, and sadly, DMV has better customer service. When picking up the order, the employee acted as if I was putting them out by piking up the order. The order was wrong, three soups ( 1 chicken noodle 2 vegetable). W/ bread bowls and cheese Flatbread turned into three soups without bread bowls, two chicken noodles, and 1 vegetable. Don't get me wrong I love Downey but the girl at the drive thru with blue nails tried to snag my gift card telling me there was not balance (on a New $50 GC) and insisted on keeping it and giving no receipt. Received a phone call from Jennifer who is the store manager regarding this issue. She is the epitome of what a leader represents. Prior to calling me regarding the lack of dressing for my salad, she endorsed to me that she had already investigated what happened, and discussed this matter with her staff to ensure this wouldn't happen again. Though the staff at this location are very nice, they keep missing stiff from my order(s) the last 3 times...I'm pretty much done coming here to be honest. First forgot a bagel; second my bottled water and now on my turkey & cheddar sandwich they actually FORGOT the turkey! Ordered a whole Turkey avocado blt sandwich substituted with tomato basil bread. This was on 12/26/22 at 9:11 PM. Drive thru worker rudely handed me my order. I got home and they got the order correct but except that they had drowned my sandwich in some kind of spicy sauce that I didn't ask for. It seems like it was done on purpose because it has a lot of sauce on it. Tried calling them once I got home but it was towards closing time so no one answered. They need to improve their customer service. They always Run out of Regular coffee. For the third time I notified them that they run out if coffee and they told me that I had to wait until they prepare more. So I end up eating my sandwich with out the coffee. I frequent this panera and the one in Norwalk, lately when I go to Downey it's so dirty and messy. To take my order was even horrible the employees don't know the products. There was 3 girls standing around taking while the line was growing. By the trash there was plates piled up everywhere. None of the tables are being cleaned . My soup was cold and I asked if they could warm it up they told me there was a microwave there (it was gross, dirty AF microwave ). Today 8/12/20 went in for a sandwich soup and salad and an extra sandwich which they forgot to charge me my total was $27 dollars that's fine with me. So I call in and tell them they forgot an extra sandwich, so as for me I didn't ask for the Receipt which I can't show prove I was charged or not call in speak to a so called Manager was greeted to a male person then transferred to a female which she didn't not want to tell me there names. Was not calling to get anything free! From Panera. Female worker tells me with an attitude I should have asked for my receipt " and it wasn't there problem I forgot so I just told her it's fine and hung up. 4/28/24 @ 1:30pm Honestly, I'm surprised this place hasn't been shut down. To start the salad had rotting fruit. The sandwich was good, but we found a hair in it. When I told the employee she just said "oh sorry". Not a care in the world. She asked me if I wanted refund or a new one. Ideally I wanted both but couldn't eat anymore so opted for the refund. When I got the manager to the register he had very little customer service skills. I told him how the employee responded to me. He did apologize and refund our meal. However as I'm getting my refund another worker comes up to swiped her card for the pos. She had rainbow hair and her gloves were so gross. She pulls her card out of her back pocket with her gloves on, then uses that hand to grab a bagel out of the slicer and PLACES IT ON THE COUNTER, just actually places a whole bagel on the pos counter filled with crumbs and sticky spots. My jaw dropped. She then walks away to give that to a customer!! WTH!! When I told the manager standing right next to her. He said " oh sorry I wasn't paying attention" I told him how gross that was and how dirty the counters, coolers and everything else was and his response was "sorry it's hard to keep track of everything around here"... yikes. -From one restaurant manager to another absolutely foul. Ridiculous location! Spoke to the "manager" Aria about what horrible service we received. My boyfriend stopped by at 6:40pm to get my daughter & i chicken noodle soups in bread bowls! Well they were out!! How do you run out of bread bowls ? He ordered a sandwich w/ chips & as he was driving out of the drive thru he notice the chips were missing. He went inside & told them they forgot the chips & there was only ONE bag left & the girl proceeded to say " well those are the last ones " ok? What's your point ? Very rude customer service. Accusing me of moving the cone from their drive through because they were "closed" I got there at 9:20pm and they are supposed to close at 10pm. The cone was not in the drive through. They helped the car that drove in right in front of us but would not allow me to buy a drink because "I moved the cone" read more

As of right now, Panera has been good to me. A month ago, I was released from the hospital, I was told I could only eat certain foods, as of today. I can only eat certain foods still. Panera bread sandwich soups have been good to me, I only eat two things from there right now. It's easy on my stomach and it also helps me stay full until I get clear from my doctor, I can only eat what I can. I am happy with Panera, when they mess up, they allow you to pick something else, or refund you. So far, I'm just happy I am able to eat and enjoy some food again. It isn't hard on my stomach like my stomach isn't upset and that is a good thing. Thanks again Panera. read more

I usually love Panera bread but tonight's visit was a disappointment and I'll never come to this location again. I came at around 9:20pm (40 mins before closing time) their drive thru was already closed, they had no smoothies, no drinks out or hot water etc. I get it that I came 40 mins before closing but all services should be still available to us customers. All employees were rude and were eager to rush customers out. I was also told I was only able to take my food to go. So not worth the $22 I spent bye Panera I won't be back! read more

I work close by so come to this location out of convenience. On several occasions I have not received what I ordered. The worst part is they place a sticker on it saying it's double checked. Clearly it isn't checked at all. It's unfortunate that they aren't more diligent about getting orders correct. Don't stop here if you don't have extra time to spend correcting the order. read more

Went like around 8 am for a teriyaki and broccoli bowl specifically asked for no cilantro 2 times because I'm allergic and I let them know that. I went through the drive through might have been my mistake for not checking at the window but it was busy didn't wanna hold up the line plus they add like a sticker so the bag isn't completely open get home and find cilantro on my bowl now I can't eat it because I'm worried a piece of cilantro will find it's way into my mouth. Really upset cause I ordered 2 things and now I really don't wanna go back to the place cause i shouldn't have to if I had let them know too. I went in for a sourdough bowl with chicken noodle soup. The gentlemen told me they were out so I said okay I'll take the soup in the cup. Like I always have. I get home and they're super small cups. I call to speak to someone and the lady on the phone told me I was wrong and I should have ordered a bowl. I let her know I did order one and he told me they were out of bowls. But the gentleman never told me there were different sizes of cups. I don't work there so I don't know. She told me that he always tells everyone so it must be my mistake. Let me start by saying that I love the Panera Bread brand. You're supposed to get quality, whole food with a touch of sophistication. I work nearby and on the rare days I don't pack a lunch, Panera is on my mind. On Jan 15 I order the chicken frontega, only to discover when I got back to work they totally forgot the basil on the sandwich. I was annoyed because it's part of the reason why I get it. So I call. She first offers me to clock out of work, come back, and they'll give me basil. Uhh. Then she offered to replace the sandwich. A few days later I come back to get my replacement sandwich. This time.... It's missing the red onions. I didn't call to complain, because I didn't want to come off as a trouble maker. A week later, on my way home my.kids wanted cookies so I stopped by, and ordered a frontega again. Before I pulled off, I opened to inspect the sandwich. The cashier saw me and opened the window and asked my why I was still there. I explained I was checking to see if it was done right, and sure enough, no basil. I work for a company that is very systems and process oriented. So I really wonder what the team does to improve their service after a mistake. How does a customer have a mistake three times in a row? Where is the quality check? They just fix it and move on. This may not seem like a big deal, but it shows a lack of care. Do they also not follow the hand washing protocols? Do they handle money and your food without gloves? Seems like they just don't care because it's located in a community that isn't neccesarilly the target market that Panera is aiming for. read more

Finally cancelled our "unlimited sip" coffee membership after too many poor customer experiences at the Downey location. I know it is hard to find employees in this current labor environment but at the least the employees shouldn't be rude. For example- On multiple mornings the hot coffees immediately spilled in our car when the lids were not put on correctly and each time the employees seemed annoyed by our request for napkins. Beware when ordering from here online for delivery. Twice now, they missed items that I ordered. I ordered bread, soups and pizza plus a chocolate chip cookie. They forgot the cookie. I ordered again pizzas plus 2 white miche bread. They only put in 1 white bread. I guess they make extra money this way. Better to just pick up your order so you can double check. read more
