After manager promised he would not be allowed near me or my food? Experience was exhausting, we should have left after the server had mocked my husband the first time. I ordered my food to go over the phone from the lunch menu at Pappadeaux's Stafford location. I ordered shrimp étouffée over white rice and the fried catfish. When I picked up my food it was all put into separate containers which that has never been done before. Looking at it I felt that I was being cheated on the portion for the price I paid. I spoke with Staff member Emily who spoke with Eden who politely and quickly solve the issue By getting me a small additional portion of shrimp étouffée no question asked. My kids had salmon and salad and it was delicious. I ordered a shrimp brochette and broccolini and it was great. Our waiter was really nice and payed attention to us. From my kids perspective, the restaurant was really cool and filled with sea creatures on the walls. There were also two types of bread for us to choose. The bathrooms were really clean and the music was good. It is very popular, but not too loud. When we ordered the food, it came out really quick (5-10minutes). The temperature was nice in the restaurant. My oldest ordered a lemonade and without asking the waiter refilled it quickly, knowing that he wanted a refill. Definitely kid friendly. Of course the fried foods, shrimp brochette, broccolini, crab fingers, blackened anything, pan seared or grilled its all just fabulous! We most often go to the Katy/Memorial location which iI really like. The service is great and if there is ever a problem they will address it in the most professional manner. I was starving after a long day of traveling, so I was relieved when I was able to be seated right away (it was a Friday around 6 PM). Service was fantastic. I decided to try the Atlantic Salmon Alexander and am sad to say that I was overall pretty underwhelmed by the dish. I found the shrimp to be a bit tough and bland and something about the sauce did not fully resonate with my taste buds. I did really enjoy the crawfish and scallops. The scallops were sweet and cooked well while the crawfish was also cooked well and had a nice subtle flavor. As for the salmon - it wasn't bad. I ordered it medium and it was what you'd expect with salmon. The dirty rice it came with was flavorful and had a nice kick. So..how do I begin. My husband And I visited here on our lunch break. I tend to be pretty specific with my order because there are just some things they never get right. First off my husband is allergic to seafood and only came for me. He wanted the chicken strips but they told us they were fried in the same grease as the shrimp and fish. So he had to get grilled strips. Then we had to substitute the fries with Cajun rice because no surprise they're cooked in the same grease as the fish and shrimp and chicken. For some reason the shrimp here is always cold and un flavorful. I ordered the catfish and 3 shrimp and tenders. The tenders were extremely cold and no taste. The shrimp as always was just gross. The fries were so hard I could not even swallow. But, I must say the catfish was tasty. Our waitress noticed my food was just sitting there and asked what was wrong. I told her all of the above and she got a manager. The manager comped my meal but charged me for the fish I ate which was fine. The soda machine was obviously low on syrup because our Coke and Dr Pepper tasted like water. They didn't comp those. Needless to say we left saying we wouldn't come back. The inside bar is loaded with comfortable seating and the dining area hosts many tables to fit 2 to 8+ groups. Highly recommend. It's not a place to go for intimate groups with necessary conversation, as it can be very noisy. This doesn't take away from the 5 stars. The Pappas brand is a Houston staple. From my past experiences, try the seafood fondue and from my present visit I would absolutely recommend the shrimp and grits. My coworker had the baked potato with her catfish and I think that's the largest potato I've ever seen served. They start you out with absolutely wonderful soft baked bread and delicious butter. Our server was good but after leaving I noticed that my card was charged more than I wrote on the ticket. I always tip with cash but I guess someone double dipped. I ordered catfish and shrimp. The order came out very quickly and looked great but my fish was very fishy tasting. The slabs of fish were huge but the fat had not been trimmed off which causes the strong fishy taste. Catfish must be trimmed on both sides to remove any fat or dark meat for the freshest and best taste. I cook and eat a lot of catfish and I must say that plate wasn't worth $28. read more

Pappadeaux is my all time favorite place to go for seafood. My family has been dining either here or at other Pappadeaux locations in Houston for many years now (since before I was born)! My go-to order is the Pasta Mardi Gras, which is "linguine, crawfish, andouille sausage, cremini mushrooms, marinara cream sauce, and jumbo grilled shrimp." It is so creamy & delicious! I have a hard time ordering anything else if I haven't been here in a while. If you are not a fan of sausage (the slices are pretty big), you can request for the sausage to be replaced with more of the crawfish. Also, I like to ask for the tails to be removed from the shrimp so it is easier to eat all together! A few other entrees I really like are the fried shrimp & crawfish dinner. Both of these are so well-seasoned, which makes them stand out from fried seafood at other restaurants. I prefer to replace the French fries that come with the fried seafood with white rice. I also feel like I need to mention that warm, fresh bread is served before your meal here - if you need another reason to come. For dessert, I love their vanilla cheesecake! It is served with fresh strawberries and is the perfect way to finish your meal. We usually share 1-2 pieces depending on how many of us there are, and sometimes we will swap the strawberry sauce with raspberry. One last tip for dining here - the prices are much cheaper at lunch (& in the case of the Pasta Marti Gras, the size is comparable).
