This is by far one of the worst meals I have ever had in a restaurant . I normally don't complain about restaraunts but this was so bad I felt compelled to warn others! My husband and I went here on Friday evening and had their BBQ. I believe they opened up a can of green beans and barely heated it through. The coleslaw had to be from GFS or something like it. The pulled pork was all fat and again luke warm at best. This was our first and last experience at this restaurant. Besides the terrible food, the service was lousy. If you come across this place keep on going. This was a huge let down and complete waste of money. I'll never go back! read more

We always like to try a place a few times before leaving a review to give a more fair assessment. We had high hopes for Paws ... the biggest problem is their inconsistency. We have eaten here now about six times. We usually go for happy hour between 4-6 pm, on Mondays if possible because it is half price pizza night. They did remove my husband and son's favorite chicken bbq pizza off the menu ... I guess their offerings change a little seasonally. The service here is either really great or the worst ever ... especially the young male workers who congregate in the corner to gossip rather than SERVING. We actually had to flag ours over several times for water refills. Whenever we have the young female servers, they are great in personality and service. The food is either really good, or sooooooo salty to the point of high blood pressure!!! Our food is either done really well, or burnt. There isn't really an in between here ... we have either really enjoyed dinners or, like last night, experienced awful service, awful, undercooked, salty food and a an atmosphere as if you are bothering the staff for being there. I would have given the place one more star, but we weren't even asked about drinks at happy hour and the waiter took soooooo long to get to us that we wouldn't have time to enjoy cocktails with dinner if we ordered them. read more

Very disappointing. We used to eat here often when we lived in the area. We returned tonight after two years. Ordered side salad that never came until after meal was served. Then my turkey sandwich had mold on it. Server took sandwich but never offered an alternative. Then one of the bartenders stopped by table commenting to another guest at table, "I am not going to stick my finger in your mashed potatoes." After paying the bill (minus the sandwich and 20% discount), I had to seek out a manager to express my dismay. This used to be a good eating establishment, but no more. read more

The Paws I give the Paws a 3 stars, the atmosphere is nice and warm. The service is professional but the food is just OK, put it that way, we have better around town. First of all, there is strange thing happen in the reception area. A fairy busy night, there is a couple waiting in line to be seated. I mention we have a reservation; we jump ahead the couples and got seated first. The couple gives me a funny look. We order the French Onion Soup and BBQ crawfish for opener. For $7.50, we expect the French Onion soup to be better. The BBQ crawfish was deep fry with a very thick breading, not much crawfish taste. There is too much sauce on the dish but the sauce is good and spicy. We order the Veal Marsala and the Rainbow Trout for dinner. The veal is overcook and not much sauce come with the dish. On the other hand, the angle hair is very tasty. The rainbow trout portion is big and very well balance stuffing with crab and cornbread. read more

Dropped in for their happy hour yesterday. The decor was little bit dark for my taste. Our assigned waitress disappeared shortly after we were seated, leaving us seated in no man's land. However, Kristen stepped in, took our orders and provided excellent service. The food was excellent. We ordered the Pepperoni Bread - which was delicious and very filling. I loved the greens, cheeses and sun dried tomatoes on top. We also had the mini Reuben made with potato pancakes, which was big enough to cut in half and share. For drinks, we had a stout draft beer and glass of pinot noir. Three drinks and two appetizers for under $20 (without tax and tip). All in all, a very nice experience. We would recommend the Happy Hour and definitely will come back. read more

This restaurant is located inside a beautiful hotel and you need to come into the restaurant through the lobby entrance as there is no outside sign to direct you. The lady who greeted us at reception and the man who greeted and seated us at the restaurant were friendly and welcoming. We were quickly seated in a half full room, served water with lemon and warm delicious bread-things were looking great! A waitress came by to see if we wanted to order drinks, which we declined. She left quickly before we could ask about the menu. A second waitress then came by and we were again asked if we wanted drinks... I asked her if we could ask a question about the special menu before she could get away. I asked what was the vegetable on the prime rib special, which she told me was broccoli. I ordered the petite prime rib-medium well, and my husband the queen prime rib-medium rare. I even made a joke about not giving me his order since Dunkin' Donuts had mixed up our orders earlier in the day. She assured me all would be as expected. From here on out, our experience went downhill. Within about 5 minutes, our waitress came back and asked us if we wanted to order-huh? Mind you the room was still only about half full. We politely told her she already took our orders. Within a few more minutes, a bus boy came by with our dinners-a petite cut a bit more than medium and a thicker piece with a lot of fat that was medium well (opposite of what we ordered and neither were medium rare). This was probably the quickest we have every been served a non-fast food meal. Both meals came with asparagus (not broccoli), mashed potatoes, au jus and a horseradish mixture. We told the bus boy there might be some confusion about the size/cooking of the prime rib. He became confused, so we just said we would take the food-I took the larger piece that was cooked more with the expectation I would give the rest to my husband. The potatoes were excellent, the prime rib was ok-but as I mentioned very fatty and I didn't eat the asparagus. A bit later, the waitress came by and we told her the order got mixed up. She said that after she handed in the order, she was told the prime rib available would only be medium and above. But for whatever reason, she didn't bother coming back to us before we were served and ask my husband if he wanted something else. We ate our meal and a lot of time went by with no one coming to see if we needed anything or to refill our water/order a drink (after being asked about drink orders twice up front). At this point the room was about 1/3 full. Finally we had to ask another waiter for our waitress and the check. When the waitress came, I asked her if she/we could box the reminder of my dinner to go (leaving out the fat part which I set aside on the plate) along with the check. I also asked if the waitresses were also covering the other restaurant in the hotel-to which she replied that some were. She came back quite a while later with a to go box with a thin piece of prime rib and potatoes along with our check. Apparently my left over meal was thrown out, so they gave us a new piece at no charge. The thin piece looked very dry, so I asked her if we could have some au jus. A while later, someone dropped off a small container of a horseradish mixture that was served with the prime rib instead. We then sat around waiting for someone to take our payment, actively looking around for the waitress or to get someone else's attention. Finally we asked someone else to take the payment. We assumed our waitress was covering the other restaurant since she was not often in the room and certainly wasn't paying attention to us. The credit card and receipt was dropped off to our table by a different waitress. We paid our bill and gathered our stuff to leave and our waitress walked by us with her head down, no thank you or goodbye. We went past the other restaurant on the property, expecting it to be very busy, thus the reason for our lack of service-but we saw many empty tables. At no time were we rude, we were polite and accepting of the mistakes. All the waitress had to do was come back and apologize for all food errors and lack of service-or even the manager coming by our table, and we would have been back to give them a second chance. But nothing. Very disappointing, we won't be back. read more

Stopped by for dinner last Tuesday. Very friendly place. We decided to eat at the bar and watch the Indians game. The wife and daughter had salmon dinners and the staff accommodated their changes to the side. Large portions and very good. Both took home enough for another meal. Now for the good stuff, Tuesday is half priced pizza day. A business lady sitting next to my daughter was having a pizza and a glass of wine. I thought that looked good to me, so I ordered a steak pizza with crispy onions. There were about eight choices. I thought the ladies was a large so I ordered a large. Hers was the small. Mine was, I'm guessing, about an 18 inch pie. I could not finish three pieces. What is Paws doing having one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted? I have always favored Mama Santas in Little Italy as the best. BTW, the pizza was $8.75! We have told several friends and are getting together there. Thanks Paws. read more

Just dined at Paws for the second time last night for fajitas and margaritas. The fajitas were amazing. Steaming hot and delicious. The restaurant probably boasts the best happy hour around. Two dollar drafts and huge cocktail for six dollars. I plan to return two more times this week...buy one get one free sushi on Wednesday and a clam bake that starts this weekend. Service was very good, very attentive service by Sue. Just be prepared for strong drinks. My friend ordered a gluten free-vegan meal, there was no hesitation on the part of the server and the food was perfect. We will certainly keep Paws as part of our regular rotation. read more

Went for dinner the other night. The menu was great and the service was impeccable. Had the Brussel sprouts which were best I've ever had! The paws pizza was prepared so well. Had great flavor. The restaurant has a mildly pleasant atmosphere... courteous enough service... and we wouldn't have minded the cost of the buffet if it had been exceptional quality. However, the food warmers all were uncovered and did not keep the food hot, or even warm. Noticeable particularly with the very dry mashed potatoes and pasty stuffing. Even the ham and turkey that was carved and attended by staff was cold. The green beans were a bit undercooked -- not in a good way, but rather still raw. And the yams, brussel sprouts, and stuffing had an overly perfumy flavor not typical of these items... vanilla? We couldn't place it... and almost everything offered tasted very bland. Honestly, we wanted to go somewhere "nicer" this year... but the quality / flavor of the dinner was considerably better at Bob Evans last year... and my mom likes it there... so I suppose that's where we'll go next year. read more

We had a table of four last night for my wife's birthday. We didn't order anything difficult. 3 french onion soups and a miso soup to start. The entrees were 2 burgers, a crab cake entree and 1 spicy California roll with a seaweed salad. Two of the french onion soups came out at the same time. Then came out the 2 burgers and the crab cake entree. The third french onion soup was delivered to the table when the crab cake entree was finished. The miso soup finally came out when all three entrees were finished; and that was luke warm. Then finally the spicy california sushi roll about 15 minutes AFTER everyone else was done eating. A glass of Pinot Noir was ordered, what came to the table was a Pinot Grigio. The server was completely overwhelmed and said she had asked the managers for help due to the amount of tables that she had. We could see that she had more tables than what she should have had. The managers told her they were too busy themselves to help. Completely frustrating experience and still was presented a bill of $139. I live in the neighborhood and the restaurant is convenient for me to go to, but will never again. Judging by the lack of attention last night, I doubt management is even bothered by that statement. read more
