Visited 4/30/21 around 1pm. I just wanted to jump on and say, I've been there two times in the past month. Both times food was very good. The main thing I wanted to highlight is the fact that it is clear they are working with a smaller staff than usual (most restaurants are). It's been busy when I've gone there. The staff is very non flustered and have clearly been trained well. The young lady who waited on me today was trying SO hard to keep everything straight and organized. At one point a customer came in who had been waiting at curbside for pick up--they young lady was apologetic, but didn't feed into any drama by the woman. She just told her the truth that they hadn't received the needed text (for curbside) The young lady was absolutely pleasant and professional and I didn't mind my small wait after ordering. I took it to go and it was very good. I've seen some restaurants not doing well post-pandemic, but this place is doing well. Everyone is pulling their weight and doing their job. The manager seems to be a good dude also. read more

Don't get me wrong I love, love, love Pei Wei's food most of the time, but it's the staff I feel is lacking a bit. Every time I've come in it seems they'd rather talk to each other and help the person trying to order. It's very clean and bright which I love. I usually don't have to wait too long unless I'm ordering takeout. The best dishes I've had are the sweet n sour chicken, any of their sushi, and the spicy ramen. They'll even make it hotter if you ask which my husband loves. A family of six can get pretty pricy so if you're looking for cheap this probably isn't for you. read more

We've been avoiding this Pei wei for a few months but last night we decided to give it another try. In short, it was great: Online ordering for 3 dinners was ready when we came to pick it up. The floor looked clean, wasn't sticky, and didn't smell like dirty mop water The attendant at the register was quick and professional The other diners seated at tables seemed to be enjoying themselves too. It looked like they might have made some good improvements, and maybe there are more ongoing (some dusty looking spots behind the counter and behind the menu tv's for instance) but I think this is a good indicator that this location is on its way back to excellence. We got two entrees and it was $35. No extra stuff. Absolutely insane. The plate sizes are actually smaller than we remember too. The manager lady is an older blonde woman who is absolutely nasty to the cooks behind the counter. The way she speaks to them is terrible. She and another employee were getting into it and she thought we would want to hear more about it as she was taking our order. Um no. That's not okay. We politely just ordered and ignored her bashing her employees. She saw us walk in too and still made us wait to order; mind you the place was seriously empty. Only one other table in there at lunch time on a Sunday. We learned our lesson and won't be returning. They should put a different business here instead, anything would thrive honestly. read more

I ordered my food online at 5:48. I wanted it ready by 6:45. I arrived outside and parked in a spot for pickup at 6:40. I texted the number on the sign even though I was 5 min early. At 7pm I had to Walk Into the store to get my food. Which was SITTING on the COUNTER behind the register. After I got home, I realized that I had paid $9 for LoMain...but did NOT receive it. I tried calling the restaurant. No one answered. I called THREE TIMES. All around 3+ minutes of ringing. No one answered!! So I guess I lose out on the food I Paid for And the food I Did get was mediocre at best. The noodles were pasty and stuck together. The "donuts" were overcooked. Also, the beef teriyaki was tough for my kids to even chew. I can't believe I convinced my family to try this place out. I'd rather go to Panda Express. I get what I pay for there read more

Today I went to get pei wei and the food was nasty. The quality of the meat was not good. The rice was not fully cooked and actually was crunchy at times. The flavors were not good on items we've have before, and are familiar with. The oil they were using for cooking looked like it was old. The cleanliness of the restaurant inside was questionable to begin with, which make me further regret ordering food from here. read more

We love Pei Wei. However, this is the worst one we've come across. We've ordered from them twice since moving here and both times they've left items off our order (Dan Dan noodles both times) once they forgot my sons order. Tonight they sent me sweet and sour chicken instead of orange chicken. No utensils, no extra sauce (as requested) no fortune cookies. The bag delivered was light so we asked hey is it all in there? Driver said - it says it is.... however the ticket clearly shows the Dan Dan is not included, the sauce isn't marked, the utensils, cookies- none of it is marked. Talk about just flat laziness. Called and waited on Hold over 15 minutes trying to get the food fixed - finally got an answering machine. Great service pei wei. We won't be giving you a third chance. read more

In Surprise this is probably the best Chinese offering which isnt saying a whole lot. I really wish there was an awesome offering out there in terms of Chinese food.. Mexican food, oh yeah, some very good places mostly but Asian, youre better off staying at home and cooking. We ordered the Asian Chicken Salad, chicken was old and had that old gross fridge taste.. Dan Dan Noodle, the noodles were over cooked and stuck together as one large soggy noodle.. Curry with Tofu, the curry had a weird perfume taste.. the honey chicken was pretty good as well as the hot and sour soup though neither made for good leftovers. With Surprise having so many chains it wasnt surprising to see one of these finally opening up.. a far better choice than Panda Express.. kind of sad, huh? read more

I have corresponded with Pei Wei customer service for almost a year now, and they have failed to address my grievances in any way. Often they do not even bother responding to my e-mails, and when they do, they make promises and assurances which they do not bother adhering to. You would think that during a pandemic, where restaurants are struggling to survive, that a chain such as this, would do their best to retain their clientele. I would have given more stars but the staff ruined that! They didn't have any forks we told 2 different people and then got from someone else they were washing some. What can I say, I'm a sucker for Pei Wei. When we lived in California, I heard the place was shut down. Glad to move back and see it open. Take out rocks, call ahead. They remember your phone number and name, so when you call they already know you. They also save your last order to ask if you want the same, or to add anything to it... Nice touch. I think I eat there too much! The only thing I don't like, and I think I'm the only one who doesn't like it, is the soda machine. Only because I always get a soda after someone has pumped out some nasty combination of orange soda and root beer, then I can taste it in my coke. Wish they had some filter system. Went to this location recently and they told me there was staffing issues and there's was a 40 minute wait. We left went back the next afternoon and were told they were closed because of staffing issues. There was trash overflowing all over, terrible service, and NO manager on site. The kid at the front desk had to call their manager and they still did nothing for their customers waiting. There were a lot of people complaining and leaving this location due to poor staffing issues and poor customer service. Reached out to corporate and they were useless as well. They literally said sorry and to talk to a manger even though I said there was no manager on site. We ordered lettuce wraps and got no lettuce...and no one here seems to care. Overall this location is going to fail if they keep this up and treat customers this poorly Alexis - I filled out the comment card form and was told "sorry for your experience" which again, was zero help and even more customer service from corporate now. Staff doesn't give a lick for good customer service, portions are significantly smaller than they used to be, and the tables were filthy. Pei Wei is a restaurant my family and I go to regularly. We love their fried rice, wontons, and are usually never disappointed with the food or dining room appearance. Although, the last few times we've visited this location, it hasn't held up to our standards. Unfortunately, I feel this location has lost its sense of quality. When we walked in, we looked over the menu and headed to the ordering counter. The service was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and patient with my mother as she asked her many questions. While ordering, we were told that some items were taken off of the list, like the pot stickers, and they hadn't quite updated the menu yet. This wasn't a big deal to us, but it may be important to someone who only comes here for one specific item. We placed our order and headed to the soda machine before selecting our table. As a plus, the restaurant had a touchscreen coke machine, which gave us a variety of options to choose from. However, the drink counter was out of straws for us to use and the machine was out of ice-arguably two essentials for soda. On our way to the table, I also noticed many used wrappers for chopsticks, napkins, and bits of rice scattered around the floor of the dining room. However, since you get to choose your own seating here, we just sat in the cleanest corner. I should note this place does have a decent about of seating if you have a larger family with tables being able to seat 6. Our food came out very quickly, with our wontons and entrees being delivered in less than 5 minutes. I loved the fast service, but would be willing to wait a little longer if it meant receiving a better quality meal. I understand, with most of the menu items being under $10, you shouldn't expect absolute perfection. However, I would have enjoyed my chicken fried rice a little more if it didn't have a long string of burnt egg in it (sorry, it's a little hard to see in the picture because of the lighting). My mother and sister's bowls of fried rice also had many chunks of white rice included, which threw off their meal's taste. When I was finished with my meal, I went to grab a box for my leftovers. Unfortunately, those were also out of stock. I usually love going to Pei Wei and it was my first choice for dinner dates for a long time. However, with the lower quality food and dirty floors, in addition to hearing the cooks complain from the open kitchen, it doesn't really set a comfortable mood for me anymore. The service was excellent, fast, and seemed to know what they were doing. Perhaps this is a management issue? I have been to many other locations and not had these problems before. This place used to be the bellwether for all restaurants in Surprise. For years, always accurate, always on time. An absolute paragon of excellence. Things have changed in the last 9-12 months. Orders filled incorrectly at least 40% of the time. At times have had to wait for up to 35 minutes. Lenora, the manager is a sweetheart, and always makes things right. She has a tough job. Too few helpers, and too many new cooks. Now I have to check everything before leaving with my pick up order. The food is very good, but the problems listed, continue to rear its ugly head. Always loved their delivery but just had a horrible experience with them and will not order from them again. They delivered the wrong food, said they would prepare a replacement order asap and then didn't deliver it. Apparently that's their policy. They screw up your order and you have to go and pick up the replacement. I don't care whose job it is clean the table ... We had a small order of sushi rolls that were swimming in so much sauce it was hard to tell where the roll was and when I did find it and tried to pick it up it just fell apart on the plate .. the salad rolls are supposed to be served with peanut sauce and fresh inside rolled tightly etc... I don't even know how to explain the sloppy wet fall apart mess that we got .. or that anyone thought it was acceptable to leave the kitchen. It was mushy had excess liquid inside was falling apart just terrible .. and no peanut sauce either though at this point they aren't edible so didn't matter. The orange chicken was decent and the lettuce wraps are always good .. The condiment jars haven't been cleaned anytime lately either the hot mustard was so caked with old I couldn't get much out .. The food was fresh and tasty and our pick up order was correct, but the servings are about half of what they used to be. Usually when I order the Chicken Salad, the bowl is full and it's enough that my husband and I can split it along with another entreé. This time, the bowl was literally half full. Pei Wei is a fave, always- but this location is the best I have visited. They are extremely attentive, food is spot on, never slow dining in or late on pick up orders. The staff is all really friendly & helpful. The entire atmosphere is casual & very cleanly- even the drink/condiment/dinnerware area was attended to frequently while being kept stocked & tidy. I brought an out of town guest with me & was really pleased to have chosen this because the meal & experience was great- the perfect casual evening. Only thing- we were confused on if we were supposed to bus our own table before leaving. Being as how most everything else is self-serve (including to-go boxes since you pay as you order before seating yourself- staff only waits on you to bring food & check on you- very casual), we didn't know if we should have taken our plates to clear & stack them or leave them on the table. Anyone try to use the Contact Us button? What a joke. I went to the restaurant. Before I could place an order I witnessed a tantrum by the kitchen staff that was worse than anything I have ever seen. Honestly, my boyfriend and I were extremely excited to try this place out but we were so disappointed. The food lacked in taste, it quite frankly tasted like it was microwaved... We spent over $40 and we ended up getting a small serving to the point we thought it was a kids dish. I would say save your money and don't go here! We order for meeting we have done before everytime we order it is wrong. So took my food back I ordered teriyaki chicken and it was fried another person ordered spicy chicken salad and the chicken was slimy. Took my food back and said this is what I got and I ordered teriyaki chicken didn't know it was fried and had no flavor she gave me a refund and said come back tomorrow and we will make it right so I did ordered with no veggies like the day before and got the same thing not happy. When I arrived there, instead of handing my order the manager, Mike, came up to me and asked if I really needed the condiments. I said "yes" and he said "Well I'm going to just give you what you need." Of course I told him who are you to tell me what I need. I am positive White Mike doesn't ask his counterparts if the really need the condiments they order. I asked for a refund and he said he couldn't give me a receipt for it. Have been coming to this Pei Wei for a while, and it has definitely gone down hill. Got takeout tonight and was told it'd be ready at 7:35. Didn't get our food until 8, over an hour after we called it in. Wouldn't have been that big of a deal but then got home and there was only 3 PIECES OF CHICKEN IN MY MEAL??!!
