My dinner was a disaster, I ordered orange chicken with rice n chow mein, guess what they did, ?? They stiffed the chicken rice n chow main all in one small little to go plastic container, when I got home I opened and you can't tell where the chicken or rice or chow main is all stuck together dry no flavor and looked boiled, im getting grossed just by describing it, was disgusting, i threw it all out yukk!!! We had dinner here last night before a movie at the District. We had a BOGO coupon for signing up for their rewards program. I had the honey chicken with brown rice. I was trying to eat chicken that wasn't breaded, but they only other choice was terriyaki chicken. Last time, I had the mongolian beef and the portion of meat was much bigger. This time was mostly rice and hardly any beef. Honestly, I don't like this place, the food is just so-so, I think Panda Express is better even though the food is not as fresh. Kayla gave amazing customer service today! The food was amazing as always. I had the green chicken curry with the spring rolls.

I've coming to this location since it opened. In the beginning it was hit or miss. Food portions, and amount of sauce would fluctuate, iced tea was like colored water with no flavor. But recently there is a new manager, cooks and staff. I get great service and the food is consistently great with no surprises. I look forward to eating there now because I know I'll leave satisfied and satiated! It just goes to show why great management is so important! read more

I eat here about once a week and it is one of my "go to" places for lunch. I am always greeted with a friendly hello and the food arrives fast, fresh, and hot. The standard of food at Pei Wei, Tustin, has declined recently. This may be due the change of ownership of this restaurant from PF Chang's to a private equity group that also owns Pick Up Stix. Menu choices and options have been significantly reduced from the days when one could select from a variety of proteins to be added to any of 15+ entrees with flavorful sauces & veggies. In addition, Pei Wei have stopped offering cauliflower rice - a mistake in this era of low-carb, no-carb and keto diets. The Wonton Soup is now Thai Wonton Soup, which features lemongrass; this soup isn't as tasty as the typical Chinese version. *we've been dining at Pei Wei for maybe 10 years. This was certainly our worst experience at the restaurant. I'm sorry to say, but if Pei Wei doesn't improve the recipes and their menu, they will be losing customers and losing money too. read more

Huge step down compared to 1 year ago. I understand there is inflation but this is simply unacceptable: - dishes are 15-20 percent smaller - prices are 10 percent higher. Some options like "extra vegetables" are almost 3 times as expensive. - they now use disposable plastic dishes, knives and forks. Everything looks so cheap. - they removed items from the menu such as sweet and sour. I ordered the Honey Seared shrimp. It sincerely looked and tasted like a pre made frozen meals at the grocery store. It was not worth $15. I used to love Pei Weis. I will not come here again. read more

Pei Wei is kind of like the Chipotle (or Subway) of Chinese food, except it does not seem to come off a steam table, which is a plus. You go to the counter and build your meal by base, protein and prep, and then have a seat and it comes out to you, typically in a bowl. The taste is pretty fresh, but my lunch time companion did warn me that his was very hot (he ordered spicy, but it was hotter than he expected). The restaurant itself is clean and attractive, and getting is and out isn't terrible, as long as you are not blocked in by the line of cars for the In&Out drive through. read more

I hadn't been to a Pei Wei in many years so I was thrilled to come across this one, but not sure what to expect. Their menu has changed a bit but they still have a ton of great choices. As a vegetarian they have plenty of delicious options which I really appreciate. We shared the firecracker tofu and the sesame tofu. They were so good that I'm still thinking about them the next day! Decent Asian rice and noodle place. It's not the best ever, but if you have a craving this place will satisfy it. The menu isn't that large, although the prices are pretty average. I got the king pao with noodles and tofu and veggies. The veggies are carrot, broccoli, and snappeas. The tofu is firm. There was a good amount of the tofu and veggies compare for the noodles, and the sauce is on the thinner side. It had good flavor, but could be a little salty for some. read more

We were so disappointed tonight with our meal, we ended up at Chick-fil-A after ordering $50 of food. We've been here many times before (a while ago) and remember it as being quality food and really good. Chicken was rubbery, beef was rubbery and had oyster sauce which is NOT on the description- it smelled horrible! Granted the manager changed one of the meals for us, it was still very disappointing. I got cauliflower rice with my meals and it was as if they took it out of the freezer, popped it in the microwave and threw on the plate! No flavor and smelled like freezer burn. I'm guessing that Pei Wei's 'chicken' is actually MINCED FISH FLESH... that's been de-boned, WASHED, .... and combined w/ other stuff and formed into something they want you to believe is CHICKEN. My Wonton soup was cold And it looked like they just went in the back Ran some warm water in a bowl and put some scallions in there. Full disclosure, my picture was about 20% into the meal. My experience is "meh". The flavors are nice, but there was so much rice and hardly any protein though they claim 4oz. I didn't know my food was ready until I came back up to the counter myself because I guess you have to sit in the to-go area and not the dining area. Food was terrible; I ordered the Spicy General Tso's chicken with brown rice, and the chicken had a "frozen and just heated up out of the box" taste to it. The brown rice was overly dry and boring. I also ordered a cup of wonton soup, which was lukewarm when it came out, and incredibly salty. The cashier who took my order also got it wrong the first time and then when I went back to correct it, she put some forks or something away in the middle of my ordering, so I was left standing there holding my money out for longer than i should have. Also, when I went to get a spoon from their utensils bin, EVERY SINGLE SPOON was dirty. The one shining light was the young hard-working server who brought my meal out - he changed out my lukewarm soup for a piping hot one (I had to water it down with hot water because it was still way too salty) and brought me a very clean shiny spoon. Big ups to him. Overall, I paid a total of about $14 for a terrible meal and a mediocre experience, which was further disappointing because I really wanted Asian food. I have tried Pei Wei on many different different occasions and have never been too impressed. It is as americanized as you can possibly get with chinese food, which could still be pretty good as proven by places like panda express and pick up stix. However, Pei Wei does the worst job in my opinion and the portions appear to be a third of the size. My latest visit I tried two different bento boxes and the first thing that I noticed was how incredibly salty they were! I have a salty palate and tend to add even more soy sauce at other establishments but these were SALTY salty, to the point where I couldn't even enjoy any of the flavors they attempted to create. I hope this was just a mess up by the cook and not the standard because it completely ruins the dish and I can't see how anyone could possibly enjoy it.. I had no issues with their service but as for "chinese" food there are far better options around the area. read more

Very disappointed, Each time I've gone recently the restaurant has really dropped the ball on each order. This recent order was on UberEats and the entire order was incorrect (especially for someone with a food allergy), given sickly and white looking broccoli in the orange chicken, bad or moldy parts clearly cut off and then served. Kitchen manager Jason deserves employee of the month! He was working cashier tonight and I'm happy I came in cuz his energy was such a warm welcome. I haven't physically been into Pei Wei in awhile and craved some kind their beef dish so I dropped in. He was upbeat, friendly, and smiley like it was infectious as I was having a weird night and needed to get out of the house. You know how smiling at a stranger can change their day? This is one of those days! He came out from the counter to greet me and some other customers and gave a full explanation about the menu like a pro! My night was boosted by his sheer customer service like he was excited to be here doing his job and he helped pick my dish based of what I was craving and I love that, it was fun. I've been a regular customer of this Pei Wei location for the past three years (once or twice a month). I love Pei Wei food, but my experience with the quality of the food at this restaurant has been really bad the last two times I've been there. About a month ago, I ordered my usual takeout Kung Pao chicken with brown rice. Every piece of chicken was tough and chewy, and I tossed the dish because it was inedible. I decided to give it one more shot today, and ordered the Korean Spicy chicken. The first couple pieces of chicken were fine, but the last few pieces were again tough and chewy. I'd hate to think of why the chicken was so bad, and I hope it's not because it's old and expired. Yuck, I'm done with this location for good! read more
