I went in for an oil change, rotate, align and balance. Two weeks ago. Now my vehicle drives like complete hell. I was experiencing no issues, this was to be a routine maintenance. After I returned to the shop, the tech simply swapped the front tires from right/left. The tech stated that there is no issues with my vehicle and to be on my way. My vehicle drives and handles terrible now. Keep in mind, this used to be a Discount Tire. Had I known that before hand, I would not have brought my vehicle there at all. This shop is full of rip-off artists. I regret not going to my regular shop, Advanced Auto Care, right down the road. I honestly just came here for a free check engine light check and found that the team was so nice. One of the team members noticed my tire was low while the manager was checking my diagnostics and asked me if I wanted some air in my tire. I didn't even ask!!! Super attentive and caring team. Much Like Rachels review, This whole experience was pretty much a joke. Girlfriend runs over huge/ bolt on a Sunday in our 2012 Jeep, when most places aren't open. So I just pull the tire and throw on the spare, she drives like 5 miles a day r/t so rolling the spare wasn't a big deal...... for a day or so. I drop the tire off Monday morning 8 am. Please call me when its done.. No Call, got busy Tuesday... Called back Wednesday, early Again, didn't get a name... Cant find my tire/wheel. They will call me. No call, Busy again, Call Friday Talked to Adam I think... Helpful, Friendly, seemed cool, Explained, no Calls, lost my tire,..... He knows where it is, Great, patched ready to go. Apparently the problem was they never entered my job/tire into the system therefore never could call me back, even though I filled out their little form authorizing service with all that info. I guess the form disappeared into the void where the tire went. Soooo Saturday G/F goes down gets fixed tire/ spare swapped. You lost my info, You lost my tire, etc but heres where my biggest Annoyance, Frustration is... I open the back of our 2012 Jeep. The M'Fin spare tire is sitting there.... "Ummmmmmm Honey, why is the spare not back in the spare space under the Jeep?" Wait for it...... Wait for it.......... "They said they didn't know how to put it back on." Clearly she must have jostled the man-speak of tires, So I asked again... "He said they didn't know where the tool was to put it back" So, in the rear of the Jeep, I am staring at this spare tire, Leaned up against the compartment that says "Jack and Accessories" . This just has to be pure laziness, I mean really? Really? 1. You have TIRES in the name of your business, you should know how this stuff works. 2. "Couldnt find the part" I find it hard to believe that there isn't some sort of alternative tool that could accomplish this feat of engineering. Like a socket. 3. "Couldnt find the part" Part 2, The saga continues. Theres a manual in the glove box that could probably tell you how this spaceman contraption works. 4. But he is not the only guy, can't you phone a friend, use the internet, or read the damn signs where the tire goes? Two days ago I called AAA because I thought my battery died. Today the same thing happened. AAA gave me a boost and recommended I get my battery fully charged at Pep Boys or Auto Zone. I called Auto Zone because I was familiar with them, but they required that I take out the battery myself. I wasn't really down for that so I called Pep Boys and the manager Ravi was very welcoming over the phone. Great customer service. So far so good. I was welcomed to come in and chill in the AC while they recharge. It turns out when I got there they checked out the battery and it was fine. Then they found the cable was loose. Came in to get some new tires on a fleet vehicle Kelly was the one helping me better yet reluctantly helping me worst customer service ever kept sighing and just not patient at all with me and with the people over the phone who were to give him a po number. Worst service ever . As of right now I've been here for 30 min which is something that should have taken maybe 5. Even after obtaining the PO does not even awknowledge me . As of right now I've been here for an hour an a half to get 2 tires changed. I was not consulted if it was ok that the tires had to be brought here from another store location. Good for regular maintenance...not so good for other things? IMO, I would suggest coming here for regular maintenance (i.e. oil changes, break pads etc.). I've had great service and thoroughness here with regards to my regular maintenance. But when it comes to specific car issues I would go elsewhere... I appreciated them warning me of my oil leak and taking the time to figure out where it was but I didn't care so much for the $800+ quote to fix it. The gal who noticed the oil leak took the time to show me how serious my oil leak was. When I received the final diagnosis on my oil leak, I asked whether or not the particular piece of my car could be REPAIRED/patched up without having to get it completely replaced. In response, they pretty much said no and that for something like this, I needed to get a new piece. I didn't feel my car was thoroughly being looked at and/or no one seemed strongly knowledgeable about the specific contents of my car to offer a repair solution that would be prudent. Well...since I didn't agree with paying $800, I ended up finding a repair shop who looked at the specific part of my car that was causing the oil leak and patching it up for $150. I was able to save myself the headache of a potential $800+ bill. My car is running well with no issues. On a brighter note, if you decide to take your car in for a major repair here and are a little strapped for cash, you may want to consider their financing option. read more

Took my car in to replace the battery. Joey did a phenomenal job! My battery terminals were highly corroded, and it was very tight, with a bad nut, and hard to remove. Those mechanics there are very skilled and handled it very professionally. Joey cleaned up all my terminals, screws, battery, and replaced my bad nut. I usually don't write reviews but the service at this pep boys always goes above and beyond. I've been coming here for 2 years and every time I come I always leave satisfied. The staff always ensure that you're getting the appropriate repairs for your car and they always promote ways to save with coupons that are available online. They are very friendly and welcoming. Manny is a great mechanic and he'll always make sure your car is well taken. He'll take the time to walk you through the repairs if you have any questions (this goes for all the staff as well). I've mainly come here for oil changes but if they notice something's wrong during the inspection they'll talk me through the next steps to get it repaired. I've had a nail in one of my tires, thinning break pads, and water leakage etc. Each of these problems were resolved during the same visit. The wait is long sometimes but if you're patient and understanding of the intensive labor that takes place then it isn't so bad. They have a TV in the waiting area and magazines that you can read. I like to watch the Price Is Right haha. They also provide FREE coffee and WIFI. This Pep Boys deserves 5 stars and more! After recent visit to have new battery install found out that mechanics improperly installed the possitive side of battery causing car to loose all power & steering on our way to work @ 4:30 in the morning. Also left a rag in the engine very close to serpentine belts. I normally take the freeway to work in the morning but decided not to risk it that morning. Can you just imagine what would have happened loosing all power on the freeway in the dark on the fast lane of the freeway. My family's safety is more inportant than those reward points. After this experience I will be taking my business elsewhere. Learned a valuable lesson. Always check under the hood after every repair. The battery installed was not what we paid for. read more

These guys are crooked. Plain and simple. I went there for a new battery last year. My power cut off on me and I had to get jumped a couple times. They tried to tell me my alternator is bad it would be $600 to repair. Meanwhile, the battery had a sensor on it that tells you when it's time to be replaced and it was BLARING. I point that out to them and the guys like "Oh no disregard that." Hooks it up to some machine that spits out some reading that says "battery=ok, alternator output=low. Bear in mind I'm driving a newer Civic SI here. Bad alternators are the kind of problem you would have on like a 20 year old Skylark or some pile of shit. My car has barely been driven and well taken care of. I kindly tell these guys to go F themselves and get a 2nd opinion. Next place I go plainly tell me "Yeah your battery needs to be replaced, pretty obvious. They probably wired their machine to give low readings to trick you. Shops do that" I simply replaced my battery and haven't had a problem since. That was over a year and 12000 some miles ago. They're that classic shop of swindlers that you take your car to for an oil change and they tell you "Looks like you need a new head gasket buddy! Whew I'm surprised this thing made the trip here! Don't worry well give you a good deal on one! Only $1800! Cash of credit?" Don't go to these guys they're fraudulent. There's no other way to say it. read more

I have to start by saying Adam is the best mechanic I have ever met! I have encountered a lot of mechanics in my time and this man knows EXATLY what he is doing! I brought in my wife's car for a check engine light and they did a vapor test of the fuel system and didn't find any leaks....turns out of was a bad gas cap. I got a new gas cap and the re-set the check engine light and I was on my way! Then, I asked Adam about my turbo system on my SRT4 since it clearly had some kind of boost leak since it would not boost at all. He instantly said its either the blow off valve stuck open or I have hose that popped off. I brought that in immediately after I took my wife's Honda home and told me that a hose had popped off and that it was no problem! He clamped it back down and I was on my way...again! These days, it is very hard to find an honest, trustworthy mechanic...anywhere! Adam will not sell you something you do not need! Pep Boys has my business for life! DO NOT GO HERE- EVER!!! The absolute worse experience I have ever had with service. I got my oil change done at this location(1st mistake) and worked with Kelly. About a month later, I was smelling awful fumes in my car while I was driving as well as my Camry was running like a "rusty truck". I thought something was seriously wrong with my vehicle and pep boys was closed. So I took the car into the dealership- turns out these idiots at Pep Boys forgot to put the cap on the oil, and oil was leaking every where under my hood. This explains why the car was smelling with fumes and driving poorly- and who knows how much damage was possibly done to my vehicle, not to mention how much I lost in gas mileage. It ended up COSTING ME $115 out of my pocket for the dealership to fix the mess. I had a report written up by Toyota and took it over to Kelly at PB. Kelly proceeds to pull my chain for a week on this matter- saying its not his fault that I went to dealership to have this fix and that I should've went back to them. I explained that they were closed, I had no choice but to go to the dealership as this issue seemed serious. Kelly said he couldn't make any decisions on the matter but told me I had to wait to speak with the manager, who he said would be in later in the day. Kelly gave off the impression that he could give a rat's about my situation and I believed he hope I would let this one slip by. As I followed up each time Kelly said the manager would be in- he keep pushing it off and gave non committal times for me to speak with the Adam, the manager. Remember - this was because THEY MESSED UP. Finally, after 10 days of tireless attempts - I finally was able to meet with Kelly and Adam. I presented the course of the events that occurred as well as showed them the report from the dealership. Adam stated they would not pay the $115 it cost to repair the situation, but proceeded to offer a gift card(for a free oil oil change) out of the "kindness of their hearts". I was willing to concede with a full refund in cash for the oil change but not only was rejected on this but was then questioned by Kelly "if it was even their fault, and who is to say another car service company didn't mess up my oil". They both proceed to tell me that if I was not happy with the gift card- to go "take it up with corporate but good luck with that. We were being nice offering the gift card". I was completely astonished by their ignorance, lack of integrity and compassion towards a customer for their OWN mistake. This ended up costing close to $200 for a simple oil change. I wasted a lot of my own time, energy and money because of these idiots. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE- DO NOT GO TO PEP BOYS. It's simply not worth it. read more

I wish I can give them no stars. I went to this Pep Boys location, I told them something was wrong with my alternate because my battery wasn't holding a charge. They said they'd run a battery test then run other tests from there, they suggested I buy a new battery there and I said no I have a warranty on my current one so I went and replaced it at another location, came back, they charged my battery and sent me off on my way as if nothing else was wrong with my car. The next day my car dies again so I take it to a mechanic across the street and sure enough I did have an alternator issue and it was replaced within hours.
