Went to Per Se for a work function so was a group dinner. Even with a large group it was fantastic. We had a tasting menu with paired wines and every course was stunning to look at and tasted amazing. Service spectacular, all in all an amazing evening. Highly recommend!

I was treated to a set menu courtesy of a vendor sponsored dinner. Selection of dishes and wine pairings was exquisite. Service was equally attentive well orchestrated had not overly heavy. The classic oysters and pearls was a favorite. Also loved the lamb, which was prepared sous vide. Dessert surprisingly was my least favorite dish.

Someone once told me that while Per Se isn't the most innovative or exciting meal, it will make you feel like a million bucks. And that's what they did with incredibly smooth, refined service and perfectly cooked courses from start to finish. My favorites included the Oyster & Pearls, one of Chef Keller's signature dishes that's warm, buttery, luxurious with oyster with caviar, and surprisingly, the short rib "stroganoff" which is what the wagyu supplement replaced. The stroganoff was fantastic with the tender beef, few bites of orecchiette, earthy morel. Crispy bone marrow was mind blowing and gave the dish an amazing richness. Made me wish I didn't get the wagyu! Service felt super friendly and comfortable and not at all stuffy, and all of the servers worked in sync with one another like a well oiled machine. Per Se has their own pens which write soooo smooth, they wouldn't give em up though lmao. Service is included in the menu price which makes it quite worth it for the amount of food served at a true classic 3* establishment. All of the servers deserve the additional gratuity for sure! I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again and am plotting a TFL visit ASAP.

I would give 4.5 stars if possible. A very good fine dining restaurant. Overall the food was good but there was no wow factor. The proteins were perfectly cooked but the flavors were very safe. The signature oysters and pearl was very good. The brioche and butter was very good. The lobster was my favorite course. I got the foie gras supplement which was good but not great. Service was very good but one of the servers was clearly in training. The gifts when you leave were a nice touch.

Oysters and Pearls. I'm pretty sure. If it's not oysters and pearls, it was still delicious but oysters and pearls was my favorite.

I was surprised with dinner here for my birthday, and it truly was an incredible experience. I'm lucky enough to have had dinner at French Laundry a couple years ago and the menu was very similar. Because we recognized many of the items on the menu, we decided to make sure that if one of us upgraded a course, the other one went with the course on the set menu. Interestingly, besides the Wagyu, I preferred the set menu items! I use the word "preferred" loosely because it was all perfection. I don't even know how to explain the oysters and pearls course, but it is amazing. I'm pretty sure it was my favorite course, but it truly is difficult to choose. Nothing was just good, it was all great. The wine pairing was perfection and the sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable. The presentation, the service, the flavors... Everything was magical. One thing that was different at per se, and I'm definitely not mad about it, was the fact that they gave us about nine different desserts, and then they brought more. And when I told our server how much I loved the crème brûlée macarons.... He brought me more. They even brought me a tiny little birthday cake and sent me home with chocolate bars and cookies. One thing I did not expect was that this restaurant would be in a mall! It's definitely a high-end mall, but it's a little odd. Once you're inside the blue door, the setting is very chic, overlooking Central Park and Columbus Circle, and the hours feel like minutes!

My partner and I celebrated a special occasion in NYC and decided to try Per Se's Salon 4-Course Menu. Evan was our server and made us feel like a million bucks. We were initially seated at the high tables, but after the couple in front of us finished their dinner and left, Evan kindly relocated us to the most coveted spot in the salon--a couch facing the window with the perfect view of Columbus Circle. He didn't have to do that, and it was incredibly thoughtful. The ambiance was dark and romantic. Everything that night was amazing. Our favorites included the Milk Punch, Salmon Cornet, butter-poached lobster with peanut relish, and all six dessert courses. I'm a dessert person, and their offerings truly blew me away, especially after such a strong progression of savory courses. I was stuffed after the main courses, and had to take some of our desserts home. Evan was knowledgeable, professional, and warm. His ability to anticipate my needs before I even had to ask--and his graciousness in arranging a kitchen tour when I requested one made our visit feel personal and memorable. The dinner was fantastic, and the service staff were exceptional at what they do.

I came here for a work event. There was an hour of small bites in the beginning including a tuna cone one. These bites were good and I generally liked them more than the entrees I had here. This isn't a fault of the restaurant, but we ended up only having 2 courses in the first 2 hours of the actual dinner due to speaking engagements running long. But because of it, the experience was a bit muted with my hunger. Oysters and pearls: I thought this was too rich and thick Bread service: I'm a sucker for warm bread which neither the pretzel or baguette were. They were just alright and I thought the butter was just fine as well surprisingly. Winter salad: I was hoping for something more hearty at this point but again not the restaurant's fault. This had a lot of flavor though. Black bass: decent dish but unmemorable Faux-Filet: my favorite dish of the night. I'm more of a seafood person but this one was prepared almost rare but not stringy. Almost like a magic trick in how it was easy to eat. The mushrooms on the side were an interesting texture to eat with. Tropical brownie: unmemorable and wished I had a bit more ice cream The complimentary marshmallows were okay and they gave us tea(?) shortbread cookies with panache that were decent. Of the wines, the sauvignon blanc really stood out to me. I do want to come back for a non work event next time and see how the experience differs.

finally got to try the infamous Per Se after ages of wanting to try immediately upon entering the vibes were stunning with the perfect lighting and staff greeting beautifully we opted for the 4 course pre fix as we had a broadway show to attend to after. started off with some savory bites, then a caviar and oyster soup, scallop and some rye breads, last was the dessert with felt like a whole bakery at the table. each fixing was wonderfully curated and each bite had such a unique and elegant flavor. each bite was thoroughly enjoyed and since we struggled to finish the dessert we got to take it home for a later treat which was great. def recommend and would come back for the dining room

Absolutely stunning dinner. Top one or two dinners of my life :) Truly every aspect of the evening was impressive: the romantic ambiance with a view overlooking Central Park, the staff and service, the course after beautiful course of plates that were each works of art, and of course the expertise and care that went into every dish that made everything so delicious and memorable. From the classic, delicate cornet to the famous oyster and pearls (honestly perfect -- I will be craving this for probably years to come) to the most buttery, tender lobster I've ever tasted, every course blew me away. Their rainbow trout with dill seemed so simple but was so refined, I can't even fathom a more fitting preparation that highlights each ingredient so beautifully. Per Se ends the evening with delight and abundance. We were presented with a comical amount of desserts that filled the entire table -- such a fun and strong end to the evening. My favorite was the chocolatey, ganache-y bar with the crunchy bottom and the semi-frozen cappuccino. We were sent home with copies of the evening's menu, chocolate shortbread cookies, and a birthday chocolate bar (which reminded me most of Laderach's bars -- excellent!).

Per Se is one of Thomas Keller's three Michelin Star restaurants. It's located at Columbus Circle overlooking Central Park. I've been lucky to dine at Per Se and French Laundry; however, I enjoyed Per Se more as it's refined, yet it has a more playful menu. For example, they have Keller's signature smoked salmon in a cone with their own version of everything bagel seasoning - a fun reference to an everything bagel with lox. At the time I made the reservation, I made a notation that I was interested in having "white truffle" as we were celebrating our last meal in Manhattan. In the menu was a hand-cut tagliatelle noodle with Alba white truffles. Our server shaved a generous serving of white truffle over our pasta and we were pleased. A few moments later, he came with a brand new white truffle and shaved a cartoonish amount, exclaiming "TO CELEBRATE YOUR LAST DAY IN NEW YAWK!". We smiled from ear to ear. From time to time, we remember this meal. Long after our experience in dining here, we still remember the excellent service they gave us. This personalized touch is what makes our meal at Per Se one of our favorites. Thank you to their team.

I wanted to love this but couldn't. To be fair this is a good restaurant. But when one comes for a Michelin 3 star restaurant and pay several thousand dollars for a meal for 2. You are expecting to have a transcendent experience. Unfortunately this falls short and probably deserves to be a 1 or a 2 star. Since the menu changes every 1-3 days no point in talking about details outside of their common dishes. The oysters and pearls signature dish that is served both here and at French Laundry is excellent. The tapioca in the sauce adds a unique twist. The assortment of desserts is an avalanche of desserts. Impressive. Disappointing was the opening 3 seafood appetizers. They were uninspired and boring. The caviar with egg seemed like there was a bit of lack of effort. Our sommelier was fantastic and this was the best sommelier experience we've had. Unlike other wine pairings where the wine is preselected, here the sommelier asks questions to understand our tastes and he starts pouring based on that. As a result, I had the best paring yet as everything was based on what I liked. Because the wine pairing is so unique, there are 4 price levels he works with. $750, $1000, $1500 or unlimited. I asked what was the craziest he has done and he mentioned he did a $5000 per person pairing that opened all sorts of rare bottles none of which were younger than the 1980s

Run, don't walk (but make sure you bring your wallet....the tasting menu before supplements was $425pp and the wine pairing was $425-$1k pp - but totally worth it in my view). The food, wine, and service here were all out of this world. They go above and beyond for special occasions - they gave us a customized menu, dessert with candle, customized per se bottle of sparkling wine from Schramsberg, per se chocolate, etc to help us celebrate my friend's 40th birthday. They also gave me the option to purchase signed books in advance as a birthday gift, which I did. The wine pairing wasn't cheap ($425 was the cheapest option and it went up to $1k), but it was the best wine pairing I have ever had. Very generous pours and they all complemented the food so incredibly well. I was blown away at the quality of the wines. We started with Dom and ended with Chateau d'yquem, just as examples. My favorites were the Domaine Florent Garaudet, Meursault 2022, the Margaux du Chateau Margaux 2015, and the Austrian dessert wine. But really it was all so amazing - huge shoutout to our amazing soon Anaïs! I really can't get over how amazing everything was - food, drinks, and wine - and how special they made the night, including with surprise gifts and a tour of the kitchen. So grateful for the team here and can't wait to return!

Lovely time with our server Igor and the other staff members. They were attentive and timed the food perfectly. We were comfortably full and had a great view of the sunset with our 5:45pm reservations. Reservations were a lot easier than French Laundry. While French Laundry had a more extensive tea menu, Per Se was also excellent. The seating area was beautifully organized and it was easy to find without a car. Everything was delicious and I really appreciated the mocktail options. The drink menu on a tablet was very cool and I had a good time going through it as it was very long. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable and I would have enjoyed hearing him talk about the history of wine all day. Would've loved a map in the tablet to see all the regions of wine they had. Definitely recommend and definitely a better dessert menu than Somni. Hope they open a gift store like the French Laundry!

Vincent, the owner, is very "sympathetico"!!

And our dinner entrees blew us away My dad and brother both got the Branzino and ate the whole plate. My brother's girlfriend got the Beef Bourguignon and loved it. I myself got the Saint Jacques Grilles (scallops with risotto and porcini sauce) which to me was cooked to perfection. The scallops were buttery soft, the risotto the right texture and taste. My mother and aunt both had the steak Frites, they liked their steaks but thought the fries were a touch salty. Then came desserts and I had the crème brûlée, my aunt and mom shared the chocolate mousse, and my brother, his girlfriend and my father all had the chocolate lava cake. Out of the three: the chocolate lava cake was #1. Then chocolate mousse then crème brûlée. The restaurant dimmed the lights and had soft music on. The wait time between meals were a bit long in my opinion but it was a small restaurant and they made stellar food and they weren't in a rush to kick us out of the restaurant at all which was very nice. The service was great, they spoke clearly and were ontop of making sure we had tap water and anything else we needed, again they took their time and never made us feel rushed. Highly recommend this place if you're ever in the Hells Kitchen/Times Square area.

Putting the food aside (which was VERY good), the place is beyond charming... like walking into your nonna's living room- and the staff was welcoming. As for the food: everything is "perfect" in a simple, old school, traditional way. No trendy twists. This is a GOOD thing in my book. It has been years since Ive had escorgot that I loved, but this brought me back. I had almost sworn off of it. My steak au-poivre was cooked to perfection and green peppercorn sauce was sublime. The fries were basic but in a good, I dare say perfect, way. My gf had the sole and, altho she says it wasnt earth shattering, liked it as well. The soufle was a bit of a novelty for me but worth a try. This place is Old School New York at its finest. P.S. I cant stand liver or pate but my gf ordered the foie gras (which ive never had) and tho i resisted trying it, I finally did and loved it. I think that says something about the place. She said it was perfect.

We ordered a traditional gran marnier soufflé with our dinner order as it takes that amount of time to make it. I came for the duck confit. It was tasty with the right amount of crispy skin. My sister ordered the Moules Marinieres which I think was the winner. It came with fries and a few small dishes of green beans. The Buf Bourguignon was rich and hearty. I've been craving a soufflé, and I'm not an expert but I wish I hadn't poured all the sauce in as the mariner was fairly strong and almost overpowered the soufflé in flavor. Overall, happy to support a small mom and pop business. You have to call for reservations. No resy or open table.

There were only 2 other parties seated and we were seated immediately upon arrival. It's fairly dark inside and the decor reminds me a bit of New Orleans. I enjoyed the ambiance. The drinks were great! I had the cocobella while he had margaritas. The table bread was hot and fresh, so make sure they bring it to the table for you. We had the mussels for an appetizer, lamb chops and bass. EVERYTHING was excellent! The flavor of the broth for the mussels was Devine, so much so my husband used his bread to sop up all he could. The bass had great flavor and came with sautéed spinach that was well cooked. It initially looked like a small portion but turned out to be plenty. The lamb chops were cooked to the requested temp and seasoned well. We left no crumbs. This one is definitely worth a try!

This space felt larger than the other locations I've been to, while still keeping the same cozy, charming, and beautiful vibe that defines their brand. We were a party of three, and each of us ordered different sandwiches and pastries. I got the Katie's Chicken Sandwich, which is one of my absolute favorites and something I order almost every time I'm visiting the city. For pastry, I tried the Cherry Croissant Cube for the first time, and I was honestly speechless. It was incredibly flavorful, delicious, and truly made my day. I 100% recommend trying it. For drinks, I ordered the seasonal Cherry Elderflower Spritz. It was just okay compared to everything else, but not bad. Overall, Maman continues to be my go-to brunch place in NYC, and this visit reminded me exactly why.

Unnecessary confrontation over a 5-minute early pickup…read more I'm a regular Too Good To Go customer and have picked up bags from Maman before without issue. This visit was a frustrating exception. The app activated the swipe button shortly after 5PM -- which Maman and several other stores have recently started allowing as an early pickup signal. I went to the store accordingly. The young male Hispanic employee at the register refused to hand over my bag, insisting the pickup window didn't start until 5:15. All the bags were already packed and ready. There were no other customers in line. I tried to explain how the app works and that early pickup had been allowed here before, but he repeatedly cut me off. At one point I said "if you want to play by the book, so be it" -- meaning it as a neutral acknowledgment. He took offense, raised his voice, and kept repeating "I don't play, you play" in an increasingly hostile tone. I asked if he understood the expression. He just kept repeating "I don't play." When I asked to speak with a manager, he said there wasn't one. When I asked what a customer is supposed to do when there's a problem with an employee, he told me to come back tomorrow and talk to him. This was completely avoidable. The bags were ready. It was a 5-10 minute window, allowed by the app. The confrontation served no purpose. I noticed the review posted the day before mine mentions "poor customer service at the register" -- I suspect we encountered the same person. Maman has a good reputation worth protecting. I'd encourage management to review this interaction and make sure this particular staff is trained properly.

While the French Onion soup was still a stand-out dish, the painfully slow service detracted. There appeared to be a single waitress working. I didn't notice during my first visit if there were multiple servers, but the first time I did hear the waiter advise another table that the kitchen was behind and there would be a wait for food. (This didn't affect me since on my first visit I only ordered soup.) Same thing happened this time, and there was a significant delay between our soup/salad course and entrees. We were told the kitchen was backed up. this is apparently the norm. For appetizers, the French onion soup was a gold star dish. My friend had the goat cheese salad which she said was also very good. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was good, and a hard-to-find dish in NYC. While eating our entrees, the server never checked on how things were or if we needed anything. Once finished, we sat there for a long time waiting for our plates to be cleared, and finally had to "announce" that we were done and request our dessert (as we had ordered the prix fixe menu). For dessert we ordered the Dame Blanche and Profiteroles. I would recommend neither. The ice cream (in both) was poor quality, crystallized and not creamy. A real shame. In all, the meal too 2.5 hours due to the slow service. The soup remains fantastic. I'm downgrading my review to recommend this spot only for soup and salad and not a full, hours-long meal. For that, it's 5 stars, for a full meal a middling 3.
