Went here to try it. Looking for a replacement for the Country Inn.. my husband's chicken parm was over cooked. His chicken was stringy. My ilfredo sause was anything but ilfredo sauce. Took advantage of a Living Social special and went with the hubby on a 'date night' to Perella's for the first time. The Living Social special was: 2 Salads (good) Wine (They asked if we wanted red or white. We chose the white...nicely chilled & also good) The Italian Sampler: Ginormous meatballs (could use a bit more flavor); Eggplant Parmesan (good); Chicken Parmesan (yummy) and Veal Parmesan (very good), It had sausage & peppers too. We choose Penne as our pasta. It arrived with a generous topping of clearly homemade sauce and was al dente. Just the way I like it! Dessert: a large piece of apple/fruit type of pie to split. (It was Ok. I would've preferred at least another choice for the dessert. ie: something chocolate!) We ordered an appetizer of Calamari on the side. It was good, but needed "something"...so I looked around for the waitress. She crossed the room, but didn't look in our direction so I had to get out of my seat to go and get her & ask for some marinara sauce for dipping. She got it promptly and it made the calamari perfect! We liked that they were playing traditional Italian music in the background. Decor reminded me of my Grandma's and that made it quaint & nostalgic for me. We looked at the menu and would definitely like to go back sometime and try some of the other dishes. read more

I went to Perella's with a party of 23 people, there menu has changed and they do not have it posted so we had no idea what we were getting (Very small menu). We had 2 people who needed gluten free food (they could not accommodate them), we also had a vegetarian and a vegan who they had to serve only pasta with marinara sauce. Several in our party had the Lasagna and did not like it. We were not at all happy with the food. I have been there several times in the past and the food was much better. i worked all day Saturday so my girlfriend wanted to treat me to a nice meal. She brought me to Perella's, im not from the area, Warren, so I have never been there. I go out to eat probably 2 or 3 times a week, not fussy but i know whats good or bad. Perellas is GOOD. We started with the fried calimari with pepperrs and garlic butter, cooked perfect, no rubber bands here. then on to the salad where the house italian dressing is very nice. She got the Stan Ross Seafood Special over pasta, dam tasteyy! i went with Doreens (our waitress) advice and got the Italian Pork and Little Necks.I should change my rateing to 5 starrs. fall off the bone pork and perfect little necks in a broth with potatoes. We stopped in because we had seen the makeover on Restaurant Impossible. We found two seats at the bar and sat down. 15 minutes later, the bartender finally acknowledged us by throwing down 2 coasters and saying "drink"? We told her our drink order. She promptly left the bar area without making our drinks. 10 minutes later (no exaggeration) she comes out of the kitchen/back room and places a black box on the shelf beneath the bar RIGHT UNDER US without even looking at us and saying anything. She disappears again. 10 minutes later she comes out the same door helping someone carry a big TV. Finally after a total of 25 minutes (we are timing at this poInt) she comes back and starts clearing all the dirty glasses that have accumulated while she was away. She then comes back and tells us she forgot what we ordered!! When she brings the drinks we asked for a menu. Now we've been there for more than 40 minutes, just got our drinks and had to ask for a menu. After 15 more minutes we had to yell to get her attention to take our order. The food took 35 minutes to come out. The food was just OK, nothing to wait over an hour for. While I wait for my ride to pick me up at the door, I asked the two women also waiting if they had been there before the do over. They said yes but NEVER again. They said the service was as bad as before and they would never return. Did I mention that we drove 35 minutes to get there? All in all over 2 hours to get mediocre food, bad service and attitude. Waste of $$ for restaurant impossible to spend on this establishment. We did peek in dining room and it was beautiful. Too bad the service and food didn't get a makeover too. It was a Friday night. We went by another nearby Italian place and the parking lot was so full we decided to go to Peralla's. Total of seven diners and I saw some people in the bar. Really dim and very old school looking. I think it's a prime candidate for Robert Irvine ... seriously. I had chicken Marsala. Two small pieces of thin sliced chicken swimming in a brown sauce. The linguini with marinara sauce ... sauce tasted like diced tomatoes out of a can. They offer roasted garlic with bread to start ... the garlic was way over cooked ... we asked for a second one ... which we were charged for. In the past we were not. My companion ordered wrong ... her fault ... they offered to change it she just stayed with her plate of pasta and salad. She has been here previously and raved about past meals or veal and peas. Will I be back ... no. Quantity, quality, atmosphere, presentation for the price were not up to what I would expect. If I could I would probably give it one and a half stars. Enjoyed a delicious meal at a reasonable price. Tasty fresh seafood over linguini served with crisp salad and plenty of Italian bread with roasted garlic. Hubby enjoyed a generous portion of prime rib cooked to perfection. The clam chowder had an ocean fresh taste to die for!! The wait staff went out of their way to be helpful . I have not been to this restaurant in yrs. It was always very good.I ordered a dish that I always used to have there. The chicken topped with ham and eggplant . The piece of chiken was very small and thin could not tell what was on top. This used to come in its own casserole dish. Now served on top of penne with some unappetizing pinkish sauce. I just could not eat it. Never saw the waitress, so I got up to check the menu thinking I had ordered the wrong dish @ $16.95. The owner saw me and he came over I told him I could not eat this dish. He asked did I want something else , so I ordered the eggplant parm. When it came to the table the server looked at me and slammed the dish down in front of me. I was afraid to eat it. No feear it was horrible just paper thin slices of crusty eggplant,no taste to the red sauce. I would never go back and will not recommend it to anyone. read more

My friend threw a party here for her boyfriend. They really took care of us, and the food was great, especially the appetizers - amazing stuffed mushrooms, calamari, cold antipasti, mozz sticks, etc. The food is not exceptionally creative or unique, but it tastes pretty good for the most part. The atmosphere is generally quite comfortable and homey, although the bathroom could use a little bit of work. Overall, a nice hometown place with affordable prices. read more

I tried this a while ago and can't wait to go back. It was a little off-putting at first because of the location and the decor. However, the food was great. My husband and I split a sampler entree that had a little bit of everything. It was so good and there was enough there to take some home for the next day. My son had the pizza and enjoyed that, too. December 30, 2017 My first time, and last time at this restaurant. I ordered what was supposed to be filet mignon, but it came covered in gravy so you could not see that it was not filet. Every bite had a piece of fat in it. My boyfriend ordered buffalo calamari, and it came without buffalo. He politely asked for what he ordered and it came back swimming in buffalo sauce and you could tell it was microwaved. He also ordered steak cooked medium, it came out pretty much raw. He asked for it to be cooked to the way he wanted it, the chef put it in the microwave and a minute later it was back on the table. Disgusting! They only had one vegetable to offer, carrots. Not my favorite and I told our server that, She didn't even try to see what else they have, and the carrots came out dried up and looked nasty. I didn't even try them. Our server was also serving as a bartender so was very inattentive to our needs and never apologized for all the flubs made by the kitchen and herself. WOW walked in for first time, and like to give the local businesses support in our town and East Bay, the food was not good, the waitress had only us to service and she spent all the time we were there in the bar. I asked for coffee and she delivered a side of milk in a glass that was sour and obvious to anyone curled up in the whole glass. My nine year old and I tried Perella's for the first time on an early Friday night. I would describe the type of place as a local family place. Folks knew each other. Our waiter was a great kid. Interacted with my son and got him smiling and laughing. They have Guinness in a can and the waiter knew how to pour it. Salad was standard greens, looked like it had been sitting for a bit, bread was standard. I had ravioli with side of meat balls. The start of the meal was the meatballs. The size of softballs and perfectly cooked and flavored. Tender and filling. Perfect. My ravioli was okay. Several undercooked. My son had the fettuccini alfredo and it was lack luster. The sauce seemed out of a jar and his pasta was well undercooked. Dessert was okay with the chocolate mousse cake which was really filled with pudding. Where do you start its a Friday night the place had 2 couples in the dinning room and scraglers in the bar. The waitress was horrible the food took for ever why I'm not the place was empty. We've passed by this place many times and so decided to give it a try. We decided to try the italian combo for two. It came with sausage, meatballs, eggplant, veal, chicken parmesan and a choice of pasta. The portions were large and that is the only good thing we can say about this food. It appears that the veal was sliced in a deli slicer and then breaded. We actually scraped the breading off to see if there was actually any veal. The meatballs should be renamed as breadcrumb balls. The "in house home made sausage was disgusting. The main theme seems to be flavorless meat, if there is in fact any meat in it The waitress actually asked if we wanted to take the leftovers which was more then half the meal. You'd think she'd notice that we barely ate any of it. Avoid this place like the plague. In fact, the plague would be a better option. On top of all of that, it's pricey for a plain run down neighborhood eatery. read more
