I saw a creepy bug scurry across my floor at 4am and called Pest Med at 8:30am- they were at my house by 10:30am! Within the last few weeks we noticed ants making surveys of our hallway bathroom (one wall of which faces the exterior of the house). We initially tried home solutions like diluted vinegar sprays and some Terro bait traps, but continued to observe ants still making their way in. We requested estimates from a few pest control companies on Yelp and PestMed was among those who had responded in a timely manner. Through text messaging we got an idea of what to expect in terms of treatment approaches and timing. We arranged for an early morning appointment. Michael, the PestMed technician, showed up right on time and explained what he was going to do for the indoor/outdoor combined treatment. The indoor treatment entailed spraying a water-soluble solution along the baseboards of the interior of the house. We missed a suggestion to move furniture and items away from the walls and he was nice enough to help with the furniture re-arrangement. He also listened to the steps we had taken and identified errors we had made in our bait trap placement. After we had moved the furniture away from the walls, he then sprayed the interior while we waited outside. He then sprayed the base of the exterior of the house and also noted to us some possible problem spots (tall grass) near the building structure that could lead to ants making their way toward the structure. Beware!! Rip off! I contacted them about a wasp removal service. The original quoted range was $125 to $450 (see screen shot attached). When I talked to the guy on the phone and I described the issue (wasp nests under the roof, there's 3 small ones I can see), he said the range is 100-400 but for the job I described probably on the lower end, maybe around 200. When Joshua came to the house the guy said it will cost $850 and if we don't want the service it's a $150 fee for just showing up. My husband countered him for $450, which he accepted immediately. I still feel this is an unreasonable rip off! Charging twice the price of the high end of the quote!!! And our house is single story (not even very high at all), so how much more "tricky" than originally described can it get!? Absolutely unreasonable. Damien never once showed up on time for his appointments. He showed up 45 minutes late on the first appointment. After we paid him half, he kept rescheduling on us last minute. He rescheduled 5 times on us and each one of those times I had to take time off work to be at home to answer the door. This is simply unacceptable and unprofessional. On one of his visits, he was about to leave without checking the trap he set in the front house because he couldn't find the door code that was texted to him earlier in the week. Thankfully I caught him before he left to see if he had removed it and he said he didn't have the code. His work is very sloppy and careless. We had just moved and found a huge amount of ants in our backyard and inside our garage. Huge as in, I'd never seen so many ants in my life. We tried spraying ourselves and they just came back a few days later. Pest Med came out and by two weeks, we hardly saw any ants. Then it rained and we saw a few more. PestMed treated our house for oriental cockroaches that have been regularly coming into our garage and living room for the past few months. The only way we knew of their presence was with the use of Roach Motels which had been trapping them. Obviously this method was not going to be sustainable so PestMed gave us the inside and outside treatment. Not only that, Josh identified entry points where they could be coming from and helped seal up some gaps. He mentioned that I should replace the traps in about 2 weeks and monitor it. If we spot any new activity between the 2 week - 1 month timeframe, they would come back out as they warranty their work.
