Hello, I'm giving two stars due to your unprofessional manager who I'm told his name is Miguel. This guy need professional training on how to better communicate with his staff without screaming and yelling at them. I couldn't help but overhear how rude he is to the work staff and on occasion rudeness to the patrons. This kind of behavior is not acceptable or unless Philly Best find this to be acceptable. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with this restaurant. I'd been hankerin' for some cheesesteak ever since I left Westwood and could no longer visit South Street to get my fix (and I won't be able to do it again since they closed it down . . .). Thus, when my parents discovered this place, I got excited. The fries were just okay and the cheese mix for the sandwiches was a bit sweeter than I would have liked. And though it was okay, I don't think I'm going to be making the trek back out to Ontario just for this. Also, for a cheesesteak, the prices were a bit high. Yummy! This is what five stars tastes like. I had never been to this small sandwich shop by the mall. But like one of the other reviewers stated i received buy one get one free coupons in the mail. Im glad i did, these sandwiches rock. I tried the phillys best w/ cheese whiz and onions. And j loved it as well he ordered the same sandwich but with american cheese and he had to admit that mine was better. Loved the peppers and pickle station, i chomped on them while awaiting my sandwich. The meat is grilled to order. The only way this sandwich could be better would be if the mushrooms were fresh grilled but i understand that its not cost efficient. Go to the grocery store and buy a package of mushrooms and you'll see my point. Mushrooms aside this place has great sandwiches. I 've yet to try a hoagie but ive had the cheesesteak twice and both times it was amazing. Definitely going back. read more

Tried this place on a whim after finding a coupon in a local mailer. It was a BOGO deal, so perfect for a quick lunch date! When we stumbled in the place there was an aura of sourness. Wasn't sure if it was me, my friend or the place, but it was overwhelming and a bit disturbing. Surely it wasn't us. We smelled each other to make sure! Still cannot figure out that sour smell, but hopefully its gone.... Ordered the restaurant's namesake sub, Philly's Best. Like woah. So good! The bread is perfect, sandwich nice and juicy, cheese...um...cheese-y. I'll order it again and again and again..... Bad customer service! I wanted to order a catering platter for my son's birthday so I called to get information in what they offer. The girl that answered the phone was clueless and she said she will get the manager to answer my questions. On hold forever, the manager very rudely came on the line (seems like I was bothering him) Said, "Our platter is $129 feeds about 10 pp, and then hunged up on me!! Wow, really!?. Philly's Best? Not hardly. I've had lunch at four different locations of this restaurant chain, and this is far and away Philly's worst. Walking into the establishment a tired, run down, looks-like-it- was-thrown-together-in-about-five-minutes dining room greets you. While appearances shouldn't matter much, this is a case where the book could certainly and justifiably be judged by its cover. My wife had a Philly's Best cheesesteak while I tried, for the first and last time, their Philly's Best burger. My wife's sandwich was loaded with half-cooked mushrooms, not much steak, and without the extra cheese we had ordered, but on the other hand it had a hair in it, so that's a bonus negative. I'm also not sure how this happens, but this sandwich was completely lacking flavor, maybe it was in the hair, I don't know, but barring that, it was nowhere to be found. The Philly's Best burger had the same half-cooked mushrooms, but absolutely zero flavor. It was one of the sorriest examples of a cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. This is a burger that should be tossed from the menu and never ever see the light of day again. Maybe the other locations prepare them better, but this location's preparation was genuinely pitiful. I'm sorry, but you need to do more than take a frozen hamburger patty and throw it on to the griddle to make a good burger. The only plus this specific restaurant gets is that the staff was pleasant, but that seems to be true of all the locations I've visited. To experience the ideal example of Philly's Best, visit the San Dimas location. The restaurant was recently redecorated, but even before that it was clean and well kept. The food has always been amazing and the staff is warm, friendly and professional. Another hash in their plus column, parking is never a problem. Insofar as the Ontario Mills location is concerned, two words from this diner... Never again. read more

I'm hooked! I visited my first Philly's Best about a month ago and fell in love with the philly cheesesteak sancwich. This Ontario location has an awesome crew. We arrived on a Sunday morning, right when it opened at 11:00, and the two hip and friendly guys took our order with smiles. The food is cooked fresh to order, reasonable prices, and the french fries are delicious, too. Skip the trip to Subway or Panera for your lunchtime sandwich. Pick up a cheesesteak instead! I come to Phillis best often. And I never had a complaint. But tonight was the worst service ever!!! We walked in, not even a hello, or eye contact. The two young men completely ignored us. I understand that they were busy. But they didn't even look up and say we'll be right with you, nothing. And when he finally came to take our order he just said what can I get for you? ... Like really! Another down fall tonight, they are both not using gloves, handing money then going back to handle food, disgusting. I told him to please put on gloves before he handled my food. Yesterday my spouse and I went to Philly's Best and the restaurant was busy and only had two workers which, for which it could have had more workers. There was only a cashier and the cook and the food orders were taking forever plus they were getting the food orders wrong. The cashier was very pleasant nt but the cook had an extremely bad attitude. At one point he even kicked the spatula for which we were in shock and it walks out the door, but he does come back into the restaurant. Some unknown a lady who placed an order also, was able to see the frustration on individual faces and went around and ask everyone if there was anything she can help them with or if there was anything she can get them. She even rolled up her sleeves and went in the back and washed the red baskets that you guys put the sandwiches in since they were completely out. Unfortunately, my spouse and I had to ask for a refund back because our mail that we received was a complete disappointment. Our sandwiches look like they were put together with scraps of meat. I have loved Philly's Best from the first moment I tried one if their sandwiches. Whenever I travel, I seek out the closest PB restaurant. I traveled almost 30 minutes to eat here tonight. It wasn't busy when I arrived and ordered as soon as I walked in. The table I sat down at was dirty as were a few of the other tables so I wiped my table down myself. When I went to get my order, which was ready very quickly, I picked up my tray and when I turned around the order of onion rings spilled. Three of the large rings fell on the floor because the tray they were in was too close to the side of the tray and too small for all the onion rings to fit in. The cashier never offered to help puck them up so I picked them up myself and was never offered a replacement. Bad customer service. Even though the sandwich was very good...it wasn't good enough to cover the lack of customer service. I will find another Philly's Best to spend my money at. read more

I love food, and I am not one to mind paying a little more for something delicious, something that puts a smile on my face. But today, seriously, I can't believe my brother and I paid $20 for 2 sandwiches, ONE order of fries and ONE drink, maybe because the quality of the food was not up to par for its price. I had the Philly Chicken Pizza sandwich, which was drenched in NOT pizza sauce but what tasted like water-down canned tomato sauce with some added canned whole tomatoes. I have to add that the bread, tasted like it had been warmed in the microwave. My brother has the Philly's Best Chicken (the one with mushrooms) and it was eh, AND they charged him an "just a dollar",as they put, to add lettuce and tomato to his sandwich. The tomato wasn't even ripe, it was a color between green and yellow. Maybe we went wrong by going with chicken instead of steak. I was deeply disappointed in the food and the place itself, I didn't feel it was THAT welcoming. For being the first time there we were intimidated by the cashiers constant stare while we decided what we wanted to order. The one thing we enjoyed about our meal without hesitation were the fries, they were good, but definitely enough to sucker us into visiting this place again. I come here about maybe twice a month since I work inside the mall. I love the Philly cheese steaks and the fries . The food is prepared very quick even when the joint is at its busiest hours. One thing I've noticed from the countless times I've been there is the employees always say thank you to the customers as they leave but I've never gotten a thank you. I mean I'm all for smoking weed however there should be a minimum IQ criteria do you have to reach before you can smoke it so you can afford to lose a few points when you're stoned. Until right now I loved this place, been coming here for years. Waited 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches cheese fries and onion rings. Got the food and it was cold, went to the counter and the onion rings and fries were there, didn't even have to tell them they were cold, they told me then gave me the option to eat them cold are get a refund, I took the refund. The sandwiches me and my family ate... I won't again. I don't even blame the staff, there was 2 untrained people working, pumping out one slow cold sandwich at a time. I was always a fan of this place, and had been craving a simple Philly cheesesteak sandwich. I was disappointed to find out that closing time is really not what it says on the the window. We arrived just over 10 minutes before "closing" and the guys working looked at us like we were an inconvenience. They said they had already cleaned the grill and pretty much were closed for the day. I even made it a point that I really wanted to eat there, but didn't want to inconvenience them by them having to make them clean the grill again. I suggested I would just go across the street to Jersey Mike's and they pretty much said it was a good idea.
