Worst restaurant in Pasadena! Not only is this place extremely dirty but the food is disgusting and made with cheap ingredients. I came in today and ordered a chicken pho and an order of egg rolls to go, when I got home my order was completely wrong. They gave me someone else's order completely. So I went back with the food and asked for a refund instead of my original order. The cashier then proceeded to give me less than what I paid for my order! The worst part is this isn't the first time they've gotten my order wrong. I don't know why I ever gave them a second chance. Stay far away from this place. It's cheap and convenient but you will pay the price! If you are craving Pho do yourself a favor and drive to Saigon Eden in San Gabriel! Honestly, the only thing I ask for in a pho place is for it to taste like pho. You would be surprised how many places just taste like beef broth and do not use the star anise/five spice seasoning that makes the pho taste like pho. I was a little skeptical coming here, because of the three star review, but I am familiar with this franchise and trusted that the food would taste like Viet food. We got the pho and bo bia. Pho broth tasted like pho. Condiments were serve yourself at the counter. The portion was a little less than generous, and the quality of the meats was south of okay, but they got the taste of the dish right, and that is allll I want. The bo bia was okay/ good. They used dried shrimp instead of chinese sausage, and I can't recall if there was egg in it. It was pretty refreshing, and staved off my hunger, so all in all - a decent place. They have something on the menu called the Obama noodles, which I think is bun cha Ha Noi. I'm tempted to give it a try next time we're in desperate need for Viet food in Pasadena, so I'll report back on that option. read more

Service was fast for the pho and banh mi sandwiches but it took forever for my summer rolls. It took over 15 minutes for them to make the 3 rolls. The cashier has no new customers as I waited. I had to go up ask about my food. So I took off one star. If you are ordering, don't look at the Yelp photos of the menu. Some items like one I ordered was different. The A2 roll now is dried shrimp inside and not bbq pork and shrimp. My mistake but I trusted the photos on yelp so I didn't look at the actual menu when I was there. My kind of Banh Mi joint. Small, cheap, unassuming, and fast. With food that tastes great. The sandwiches are all less than $5. I tried the BBQ pork and the Special. Both were very good. The bread was perfect. Overly crunchy or stale bread can ruin a banh mi and that wasn't a problem here. Perfect amount of crunchiness on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I'm a sucker for the pork so that was my favorite, but I'd order them both again. Also tied the egg rolls. They were good, but nothing special you can skip them if you'd like. Tried the meat pies both pork and chicken. They weren't really for me, although the pastry was pretty tasty. It's cash only, you order at the counter and they have no seating. While one order of the shrimp roll includes 3, most of the inside was shredded lettuce. It's the ingredients of two, portioned to make three. I've been coming to this location for a long time, and their service has been spotty at best. The food isn't what's getting the 1 star, it's the service. It's not the first time that we've ordered online and the food was either not ready at all, or there was stuff missing. If they plan on using the Yelp Eat 24 app as a means of gaining momentum in the very busy college district that they run their business in, they also have to rise to the occasion. This time around, the food was ready, but it was incomplete. We ordered a bun that comes with the fish sauce that you pour over the dish, and that was nowhere in sight. Then there was the sauce for the eggrolls, nowhere in sight again. It was a slow day there, too. Literally, no big rush, and the food order that we placed was complete with notes in the special instruction portion of the Eat 24 online order form. Why bother having a customer do this when they won't pay attention to the notes? At any rate, it will be a while before I go back there to order. The food, though good, isn't enough to keep me coming back when the service is mediocre. This is my favorite Banh Mi place in Pasadena. As a PCC student, this is right across the street and I am so glad it's accessible AND affordable. My go to is the BBQ Pork Banh Mi and sesame balls. They have had a deal where you buy 2 sandwhiches and you get a free lemon tea drink! This is perfect if you want to share lunch with a friend!
