This place is average. I would say it's 3.5 stars. Located in a plaza with The Habit, parking super easy. Inside has nice decor and it's pretty clean tho I think the tables were a bit sticky. I ordered the Pho Tai and my hubby ordered #46 (5 entree combo rice dish). I thought the pho tai was delicious. Meat tender. Broth good. Portions on the smaller side to me tho. My husband's #46 came with a good amount of food and the pork and beef were good, especially the marinade. However, they advertised shrimp and it only came with one small shrimp. I think 2 would've been better since they are considering it one of their proteins for the entree. Pho Hoan Pasteur is my local go-to spot for pho! The owner is always nice and friendly. There are plenty of seating options for small parties (booth) or larger parties (tables that can be put together). My usual is the rare steak pho and the crunchy won tons. The pho broth is so rich and flavorful. You can tell they cook the broth for a while. One thing I wish they offered is the thicker pho noodles which is my personal favorite. Came here one time because they also have a location in garden grove so I wanted to see if they are just as good and at the time, the owner told me that he was related to the other owners from the garden grove locations. As soon as I heard that I just knew I was not going to be disappointed. Sure enough I was not! I had the vermicelli noodles with chicken and shrimp! I love the satay pho. The sweet and spicy combination was excellent. I tried the marrow bone and it was so good. The food is good and reasonably priced. The service is good and people are friendly. The restaurant is clean, but gets crowded on weekends and rainy days when you are looking for something hot. They welcome you with a big "hello" as you enter the door. Out of Our party of 4 people 3 had the beef rib pho. It came with two humongous beef ribs sticking out of the Pho bowl. I had the oxtail soup and was equally delicious. The broth was not too salty, was just perfect. We also ordered spring rolls and vegetable rolls. The restaurant opened a month ago. The prior restaurant also served pho but I forget the name. Parking can be hit or miss. Even though the lot is large, it always seems crowded. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered: Vietnamese coffee Pandan leaves tea Shrimp egg rolls Pho Grilled pork chops with egg The shrimp egg rolls were ok. Normally we get fried egg rolls but I wanted something different but the same. My husband liked his pho. I thought the broth was good. My grilled pork chops were ok, but could have used more grilling. The flavor was a bit anemic and the eggs needed salt. Unfortunately, while there were condiments on the table, there was no salt and pepper. I was also surprised that they did not serve the dish with nuoc cham. This dish is the dish I usually order at most Vietnamese restaurants and it's usually served with nuoc cham. I may have not ordered the right item on their menu but I was not craving pho. Perhaps your experience will be better than mine. I know my husband enjoyed his food! Came with a friend on a rainy day. Pho is one of the best comfort foods for cold weather like this. The place was packed when we arrived around 6:15 pm--got seated fast, though. The server was friendly but always forgot about refilling the water. It's a busy night, so no big deal. The chili pepper oil was spicy. I like it, though. You just need to eat it cautiously when it's in the soup. I got the house special pho, which had brisket, beef ball, tendon, and tripe inside the soup. The soup was the best. It's flavorful but not heavily seasoned. It would be perfect to get more than one piece of the tripe and beef ball slice. I would consider ordering extra sides next time. My friend got the beef rib pho. I was surprised with the portion of the rib and the amount of meat that came with the bone. Really generous. They looked good, too. I've been looking for a good pho spot around the area and this place is a solid pick. I ordered the filet mignon pho. The beef was super tender, and the broth was flavorful. I love a good broth We also got the shrimp & pork spring rolls for the table. It was fresh and delicious. The peanut sauce was good. The service was great! The workers were really nice and attentive. I really love the Rib Pho here, they give you two large and generous ribs in the soup - it's super soft and delicious and was perfect to eat when I was sick. The to go container is microwaveable so I was able to enjoy the leftovers the day after as well. Just wish that they gave more limes to squeeze into the soup. I also got to try the Pandan Milk Tea, which tastes like ube to me - very sweet vanilla flavor, it tasted really good! I also got the Vietnamese coffee, but it just tasted like a strong coffee with milk so I wouldn't get it again. I haven't had the chance to eat inside the restaurant, but I did before when it was called Soup Shop. It's a very comfortable dining atmosphere, it almost feels like an intimate cafe with big lofty ceilings, so very cute spot for a lunch/dinner date. Good pho discovered.. I was very reluctant to come to this place since I didn't have a great experience at the prior Pho place, but was curious since the menu did look different. I came on a Saturday afternoon and was promptly seated at one of the tables. The decor was modern and nice. Nice airy ceilings made it seem more "regal". I ordered the Beef Rib Pho. The noodles came out and were hot and tasted so freshly cooked. I really dislike pho places when they put the noodles into the bowl and it cools down the broth. This did not happen here. The broth was so light and had lots of flavor. The beef ribs were cooked perfectly and were all soft and cooked well. I appreciate the fact that they took such care to cook it right. It was also great that they had sriracha and had no problem giving me the onions on the side. All the veggies tasted fresh. I think this might be the best pho I have had in the South Bay, but will need to try it one more time to crown it the king. The service was friendly. They were always cleaning the tables and the owner was so friendly. He shared that this is the second location and the original one was in Gardena. He said they took over about 10 months ago. I just tried this place today. I keep forgetting this location changed to this new Pho/Vietnamese restaurant. I think this location is a little cursed because there is no parking at lunch from the 99 cent store nearby and other eating places like habit burger, but dont let that dissuade you from trying it. I had the filet mignon pho, usually what i get at other places. I ordered a large, but i will have to admit the size of the portions of noodle and sprouts/onions/basil/jalapeno was a bit on the smaller size. It's not bad though i was satisfied after i ate it, so it wasn't super small but just saying it's on the smaller size. Broth had a clean beef flavor, it was a good broth that you can definitely finish. It's a clean looking broth, and i cooked my raw filet mignon in some of the broth, and added the meat to main bowl with a little bit of the beef broth with the meat cooked broth added. I dont cook the meat in the main bowl anymore to reduce the cloudyness of the broth from the meat blood. But it does enhance the flavor so i added just enough to give it a little more flavor but broth still looked pretty clean and still tasted very good. The meat looked lean, but i have to say it was super tender and was very good! This is good quality meat, similar to how Pho Hue Oi used to be, but now their filet mignon meat is a standard cut even though you pay for filet. So i'm happy to say, this place the meat is legit and was a pleasant surprise. I also had a Ca phe sua da (vietnamese iced coffee) usually with condensed milk. They premake the coffee so it's faster (the old drip way is great, but very slow) but yeah, the coffee here was great, strong and tasted very good! Overall, for my first try i'll give this place a 5 only because of the overall quality of the pho/meat and coffee. The location is S/W corner of Redondo Beach and Normandie ave. Right next to the Habit burger, 99 cent store, gym. Parking can be hit and miss at lunch time as this parking lot does get pretty crowded. Off peak hours is probably best. The inside is clean, similar layout to what was there in the past like the counter and booths. So a very good place to go grab a quick bite. Host was very nice and service was great. Came for a late lunch after I heard good things from a few colleagues. I decided to get the Satay Pho, which was under their specialty section. Very hearty bowl of soup. Satay flavoring was very pronounced, but it was a bit too sweet for my liking and a bit lacking with the beef. I also got an order of the egg roll, which came with 4pcs piping hot. However for some reason I wasn't given the veggies and thought it was normal and ate one. After I ate one I saw the tables around me all had veggies for wrapping then I asked for it. This spot is very busy, that means it's very good. Every time I tried to enjoy either my tea or soup the door opened with either pick up orders, or customers. Quick service 360 rotation. Very quick service folks were in and out. This restaurant works well as a team and they have now gained a new customer. Came here with my family to celebrate Father's Day. The service was amazing! When you walk in, you're greeted by a delicious smell of pho. We were able to get seated fairly quickly as well. I like how they have some vegetarian options for their pho. The broth for the chicken pho was very clean and tasted great! I wish they offered dark meat for their chicken pho, but overall, it was really delicious. If you are new to trying pho, I would recommend eating here because the menu is very simple and fairly authentic. I also recommend ordering the vegetable egg rolls! The restaurant Pho Hoan Pasteur has very good service because it is family owned. I usually go there with my family and they make me feel like they are family to us because my mom knows the owner very well. So every time we go we call the owner if he is there and they reserve a seat for us before. He's always ready to be on the move and help customers. The pho is very good and it has a large portion with tender beef rib meat and the broth is very tasty. I was surprised the Vietnamese restaurant are usually dirtier but this one was totally different it was tasty, clean, and had a good vibe.This is the second location that they opened and it will always still be good like usual. read more

The service is efficient and friendly but the most important factor in pho is quality of the soup and that is lacking here. They watered the broth down too much so they had to pick it back up and the used lemon juice to do that. Using fish sauce is too costly. The noodle quality was excellent but wish there were more noodles. The meat quality was good but too thinly sliced and not enough. Basically, it's a large bowl which is the same size as medium a few years ago with watery broth. They were also stingy with the bean sprouts and basil on a tiny plate. The summer rolls were too loose because they went with the usual method of chopping up romaine lettuce as filler so when you bite the roll, it's insubstantial tasting with more air and no pork and just maybe 1.5 shrimp. Also not enough bean sprouts. The Vietnamese coffee was also strange with a big head of foam that took up maybe 20% of the cup. Overall Pho Hoan Pasteur does everything it can to reduce food costs and it shows very clearly. I debated whether to give 2 stars or 3 but I cannot lower my food standards just for friendly service. If you want the best pho, go to Hong Long, not far away on Crenshaw. read more
