I have to say from start to finish, the atmosphere, service and food was all on par and quite good. We ordered grilled pork spring rolls, he got the combination pho, I got the rare steak with wontons added. Broth was good, could not tell if it was Homemade stock or from a bouillon powder, but was still good. Spring rolls were probably my favorite part, the meat was excellent. I would have given five stars but the wontons in my soup weren't fully cooked by the broth, so was a bit mushy. Holy Moly this place impressed me! Went there on a recommendation from a friend whose spouse is Vietnamese and loves it. I tried the grilled pork vermicelli bowl with grilled shrimp and not one, but two spring rolls for $14.25. The bowl was huge and looked super fancy compared with any I have had before! And the taste was spot on! It had all the good stuff including fresh mint which to me is the best herb to have in the bowl, but rarely does it come with it! Bonus! The meat was perfection, the vermicelli noodles were (according to my friend) the correct noodles to have in a vermicelli bowl which normally you see the ones that go into pho. These rice noodles looked more like spaghetti and were not sticky. They also held up well to leftovers! The nuoc cham that comes with the dish had bits of chilis and garlic which tasted so great but also looked fancy! My only criticism would be that the fried spring rolls. They weren't the best I have had. I like super crispy and these seemed like they were either rolled to tight or not fried long enough even though they were golden brown. My friend's pho looked amazing and I will def try that with tendon next time. Service was quick and friendly. My prediction is that once the word is out, this place will be packed all of the time! How this establishment has 4.7 stars is beyond me. They do not have a host system so when u get in u sign in ur name and good luck getting seated before 20 minutes. We asked for vegetable spring rolls they got us rice wrapped with lettuce only. Yes just lettuce like were some type of rabbits. What happened to cabbage? Carrots? Etc? The fried Shrimp barely had any shrimps in them they were fried breading. The Pho was okay. There are way better restaurants like this in Folsom!
