(Edited my review below, June 12) Thoughts on visit... This place is a hidden gem. If you are new to the Palos Verdes area like I was--expect that you may get a little lost at first. The place is located within the promenade, which is an outlet with really good restaurants & shops to check out every once and a while. Which I will write a seperate review soon. Customer Service The customer service is amazing, the waiters greeted us inside. Food didn't take too long to arrive. Location I ordered a Bánh Mì, which didn't take so long. It was convenient that the restaurant was in the mall so that me and my siblings could try different foods. Ambiance Rating Ambiance was amazing, loved the inside. It felt so retro and modern, which is something I am interested in. So if you are into a place that has a retro vibe next to a skating rink and located in Palos Verdes. Thoughts I will say, by objective rating--this restaurant is very spacious, spotless, and the area is so thrilling and my family loved exploring. I had a fun time with them even after we got lost at first trying to find this restaurant. I would love to come back and see more of the dining one of these days. Food Review But as I am trying the Bánh Mì during my second experiance, the food didn't taste as good as it did the first time I came here. I don't know how that worked, and if it was just my frame of mind at the time. The first time we visited, it was late but we had time to wait a little and eat. The vegetables of the bánh mi had a earthy taste and packed of flavor with the meats. The sauces were tangy and perfect combination of spicy and sweet. I am not a professional when it comes to bành mì, but I am not unfamiliar with it either. And the sandwich didn't really seem like the Bành mì I usually order. It felt more like something you would get out of an American sandwich restaurant. As I tried it again, the Bánh mì gave me the same thoughts, only now that I am tasting it for a second time--I personally feel like it isn't something I would eat over and over again. I don't know why, but the first experience trying it was most memorable. Conclusion But of course, don't let this review be your sign not to go, because you might end up with a different reaction. Thank you for the amazing service and thrilling experiance, Pho Redbo! I would come back to see and try any new items and see what is interesting to try. But as of now, nothing could beat the first experiance of trying it.

Pho REDBO is SICHMA halal certified across the full menu, making it an easy choice for the whole family with no restrictions on what you can order. For families on the Palos Verdes Peninsula looking for halal Vietnamese comfort food, this spot stands out for both quality and variety. The menu highlights premium Wagyu beef and a rich 24-hour bone broth that gives the pho a deep, flavorful finish. We tried the beef stew, Combination Pho with thin noodles, Wagyu sliders, and the Flaming Wagyu served tableside. The beef stew was hearty, the combination pho delivered tender meats with delicate thin noodles. The Wagyu sliders were packed with flavor, and the flaming Wagyu presentation added a fun interactive touch to the meal. The tableside service made the experience feel elevated. Service was amazing throughout the meal, attentive, welcoming, and helpful from start to finish.

Reservations: Easy to make online though we walked in at off hours around 4pm on a Saturday so plenty of seats were available. Parking: Really easy free parking in the structure next to the mall that the restaurant is in. Service: Friendly and helpful in providing recs when trying to decide between dishes; tableside service for flaming wagyu and very quick to get orders/check/food Ambiance: Very unique with Ruby's style diner on outside and beautiful colorful lanterns inside as well as big windows to the LA Kings Ice skating rink next door with plenty of seating inside. Food: Wagyu phở tái combination bowl had wagyu rare steak, wagyu brisket, wagyu rib cubes in a 24-hour bone broth that was great value at $23 for a large size Shaken beef with rice was also filling and cooked well, reasonably priced at $21, and seasoned with a delicious sauce and broth. Loved the peach tea as well so didn't need to find a boba spot for dessert after! It came in a convenient bottle to take to-go if you can't finish too, which I really appreciated.

I was in the area for Fika Fika next door, when I saw this place. I was a little hungry so I thought I would grab a quick snack before getting some ice cream. I t was about 4pm so in between major mealtimes and so it was a bit slow. I think I was the only one in there. Located in the Promenade. It's right next to the entrance near the skating rink. I was greeted by friendly staff who was ready to take my order. The decor inside is quite nice with colorful Asian lanterns and black tables and chairs. Although I should have ordered pho, I wasn't feeling it on this day. I just had a couple items on the appetizer menu. Wagyu sliders: these were pretty good. I tend to like lettuce in my burgers and the sliders didn't have any so I grabbed some leaves from the egg rolls to stuff in it. They were very tasty. Egg rolls: I'm used to having these type of egg rolls made with pork and shrimp so the beef threw me off. Not really my favorite but I could see how some would like it. 3 stars I would come back to try the pho though.

What a great Vietnamese restaurant! I got to try their pho wagyu A5 and it was truly amazing. The broth was so rich and the meat was fatty and thinly sliced but so flavorful. We also got the shaken beef rice plate and it came with a side of broth which was a good combo! They have plenty of seating and this place is located inside the mall but pretty easy to find plus there's a big parking structure attached to this mall. Service was great and so glad I finally got to try this restaurant! Their wagyu pho is 10/10 worth getting. Can't wait to be back!

I went here with my sister on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 11:00 am. We were craving pho and have been here once before. The food was really good, service was great, and the restaurant was clean. They added lanterns on the ceiling, which added a nice touch. It's conveniently located in the Promenade. Golden Truffle Fries 4/5 I love fries and theirs is a must-try starter. There was a hint of sea salt and truffle oil. Yum. Wagyu Sliders 4/5 A little too much bread for me, but other than that, the Wagyu was flavored nicely and cooked medium-well. Pho with rare steak 4/5 Their broth was so flavorful. I knocked off a point because the last time I visited, I had their Pho with Wagyu A5. The Wagyu melted in my mouth like butter. The rare steak is good, but not as good as their Wagyu. I guess once you've tried their Wagyu A5, you can't have any other type of meat. I could taste the difference. Pea Tea 4/5 Refreshing!

Half eaten Crispy Truffle Fries! (They give you more than this)

Service we got was great, truffle fries are crispy! Thai tea was not overly sweet. I loved it! Pho broth is more on the light/herby/floral side--not salty but peppery. Meat presentation was sad for both orders (one combo pho and one rare steak pho) :( they were crumpled up, not laid flat uniformly. Phos were in the $20s. Ambiance when we went was 7pm on a Friday--a couple of screaming toddlers unfortunately, my right ear drum feels busted but it is what it is. Very casual. Right next to the ice rink too! Hmm, we're not coming back for pho, my husband is Vietnamese and very picky about his pho--didn't make the cut, so for me :c, but the truffle fries so yummy. Thank you for the food though!

A halal pho spot in South Bay!!!! This is so awesome, I really liked the original location and this one is fantastic as well! Came here with my friends and got the pho sandwich which I thought was really great! It comes perfectly sauced and the meat is super well cooked and its very flavorful. On a cold day, the pho really hits the spot. It is quite spacious on the inside with good ambiance and its located inside the mall and the sevice was also good. We got our food relatively quick. Won't have any problems with parking since you can park the mall structure

This was our second stop on our way to LA! We wanted pho, so we decided to check this spot out. Our server recommended the flaming wagyu, which was torched tableside. It was a delicious appetizer and fun to watch! For our entrees, I got the pho with rare steak and my friend opted for the well-done brisket. I also ordered the shaken beef, but was too full to finish it. The beef was very tender and flavorful! We also got the passionfruit and lychee drinks, which came in plastic bottles. They were both very refreshing and not too sweet. All their food is halal and service was friendly and attentive.

I recently visited Pho RedBo and had a great experience overall, especially because I'm a fan of high-quality beef dishes. The standout for me was their combo beef pho--the broth was rich, deeply flavorful, and clearly simmered with care. The beef was tender and well-portioned, and everything came out fresh and perfectly balanced. It's definitely a step above your typical pho spot. I also tried the Flaming Wagyu, which was both a visual and culinary highlight. The presentation was impressive, and the wagyu itself was incredibly tender with a buttery texture that melted in your mouth. It's a bit of a splurge, but worth it if you're looking to treat yourself. The shaken beef was another hit--perfectly seared, juicy, and packed with flavor. It paired really well with the accompanying rice and added a nice contrast to the lighter pho. On top of the food, the customer service was attentive and friendly. Staff checked in regularly without being intrusive, and everything came out in a timely manner. You can tell they take pride in both their food and the overall dining experience. Overall, Pho RedBo delivers a modern, elevated take on Vietnamese classics with excellent service to match. I'd definitely come back. The place is located in a former dinner in a. Outdoor mall. Lots of parking spaces.

I thought this would be another whitewashed Vietnamese spot, but I was proven wrong. Everything I had here was delicious and even my Viet friend I came with approved! My friends and I did family-style for the following dishes: - Flaming Wagyu (Halal): Fun having the staff flame this table side. The meat was juicy and tender. The onions and dipping sauce added sweetness and umami flavor. - Pho Combo: Loved the broth which was perfect on its own. A generous amount of meat, but no tripe and other cartilage which is usual for "combo" pho. Still good nonetheless and a good option for pickier eaters. - Wagyu Beef Stew (Halal): Full of tender meat and carrots. Sweet and rich. Would love to try this would a side of bread as we got it with noodles this time and it was a bit too heavy. - Wagyu Fried Rice (Halal): Full of meat and flavorful. A bit too oily though, but it was still my favorite dish. Also loved that it came with a side of pho broth and fresh veggies to help cut the oily rice. - Lychee Tea: Sweet and flavorful, but a bit too sweet for my liking. Would prefer if this was diluted a bit more. I loved all the dishes. Everything was so tasty, flavorful, and had good textures. I love how all the dishes had a generous amount of meat with most of it being halal which is unique for a Vietnamese restaurant. I also really liked the interior which was American diner themed. This restaurant used to be a Ruby's diner, but it was cool of the owners to retain the diner theme and add some Vietnamese elements. The service was good and the servers were super attentive and friendly. There's street or covered mall parking as this restaurant is connected to a broader shopping area. Overall, this was such a great experience with delicious food. This spot is so underrated and deserves more attention!

Visiting Pho Red Bo was such a elevated pho experience. Located at the Promenade PV, is this pho restaurant that specializes in Wagyu. Their menu consists of various dishes featuring American, Australian and Japanese A5 Wagyu. From starters like Wagyu Sliders to Main Entrees like Wagyu Beef Stew to Pho with Wagyu Oxtail, this restaurant is all about premium beef and quality ingredients. I started off my meal here with their famous Flaming Wagyu. This is not your ordinary appetizer. The slices of premium American Wagyu is brought to the table raw and the server will then torch the beef tableside on a hot stone. It's a fiery show and one that ends with the most mouthwatering, tender pieces of Wagyu beef. The thin slices of meet simply melt in the mouth and has the perfect smoky flavor. This is definitely a must try here! Aside from the Flaming Wagyu, I also got to try their Pho Sandwich. Think bahn mi reimagined French dip style. This sandwich consists of tender Wagyu brisket with fresh herbs like cilantro inside a crispy baguette. On the side is pho broth dipping sauce. It's messy, delicious and honestly one of the best bahn mi sandwiches I've ever had. I can't go to a pho spot without trying their egg rolls. I love Vietnamese egg rolls and Pho Red Bo knows how to make a good one. The egg rolls came out piping hot from the kitchen and they were perfectly golden brown. I loved the outer crisp skin and the flavorful seasoned filling. Egg rolls here truly excellent. From the main entrees, my friend and I got to try their Pho with Well Done Brisket, the Wagyu Fried Rice and the Shaken Beef with Rice. The Pho with Well Done Brisket was a quite delicious. The pho broth was slightly salty but quite heartwarming. I loved the Wagyu briskets that was tender and buttery. It paired quite well with the aromatic, rich soup base. The Wagyu Fried Rice was my favorite dish. I loved how there was large pieces of soft and juicy Wagyu. Not to be skipped is the Shaken Beef. Once again the Wagyu beef was delightful. I loved how the beef was "shaken" with onions and peppers. Last but not least, we enjoyed some house made special drinks. My friend got their Thai Tea and I got the Passion Fruit Tea. The Passion Fruit Tea is a seasonal special. It is fruity and flavorful and the perfect pair to the savory flavors of the dishes. I really enjoyed my visit to Pho Redbo. I could really tell that their dishes have quality ingredients. I love how they use premium Wagyu and how the menu features the premium beef in so many different dishes. Each dish I tried was superb and I was really impressed! I am a fan of Pho Redbo!

My go to order is still the chicken and gyro platter combo, mixed with barbecue and white sauce. It is seriously amazing and the gyro is still one of my favorites anywhere. The portions are solid and the flavors always hit. The only downside is the fries used to be better, I really miss the seasoning they had before. They are still fine and we keep ordering them, but I do wish they had a bit more flavor like they used to. Another small bummer is that there tends to be a noticeable homeless presence outside near the Starbucks, which has become pretty normal for the area. That said, they generally do not seem dangerous, which I do appreciate. Overall, this remains one of our go to spots. The food is still great, the service has always been good, and it continues to be a place we are happy to return to.

Everything was going normally until I got to the sauce options at the end. The employee asked if I wanted barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I didn't hear her clearly at first and said "mild," and she responded in an irritated tone that it was either barbecue sauce or hot sauce. I told her I had never seen the barbecue sauce before and asked what it looked like. She repeatedly just said "it looks like barbecue sauce" instead of simply showing it to me or explaining it. I even asked if she could show me the sauce, and she still responded dismissively and seemed annoyed that I was asking basic questions before deciding what I wanted on my food. What made the interaction worse was that there wasn't even a line or rush happening at the time. I wasn't trying to hold anything up -- I just wanted to know what I was ordering. The receipt listed the employee name as "Estuardo," although the employee helping me was a woman, so the register name may not match the actual employee. I'm leaving this review as constructive feedback because a little patience and friendliness goes a long way with customers.

I had just finished buckling my child into the high chair when my order was delivered to my table! They are super fast here! The super friendly waiter delivered my meal, and I dug in. The gyro was stuffed with meat! This is a huge deal, since a lot of places skimp and don't give enough. So extra points to Al Hamra for a job well done. The flavor of the meat was juicy and well seasoned, super delish! The hummus and pita was good, although I usually add a bit of spices to my hummus so this one was a little plainer than I'm used to. Either way, it was a nice addition to the meal. The grand finale were the desserts! I usually go for baklava, but decided to try the knafeh, a layered cheese dessert with syrup and pistachios. Get the knafeh! The warm cheese and syrup were so delicious and made for the perfect ending to a good meal! I will definitely be back, the food was super tasty, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the happiness, Al Hamra!

I forgot to notate the coupon deal that enticed this visit, so my best guess is either a BOGO offer, or a buy one & get one discounted offer; I wanted to support local restaurants during lockdown so I wanted to give them a chance, & the signature menu listed chicken sandwiches that we both might like. When I called in, a friendly melodic male voice picked up & took my order. After I was done, he asked how did we hear about Calf & Chick, & I informed him it was their neighborhood flyer. With a 10-min. estimate, it was just enough driving time for my order to be ready. The restaurant is located around the corner from home, & sits behind Wendy's off of busy Sepulveda Blvd. & Pennsylvania Ave. Upon arrival, I waited another 10-mins. for my order. The cashier said strips & onion rings were still in the fryer & wanted to make sure they were hot. The spacious dining room was empty due to lockdown, but their phones were ringing & ringing for takeout. When my order was ready, I checked my bag to be sure that there were 4 items since I had infrequent expedite issues during lockdown. Everything was still warm when I settled home to eat. I had the panini... it was warm & savory, your taste buds hit particularly hard with the tasty garlic paste on a crusty roll. It was flavorful, however, the greens were old, & not from being pressed/toasted. My husband's Grill Chicken Sandwich was the same; it was a good sandwich that was tainted with old & wilted spring mix, & soggy sourdough due to condensation even though it was a short ride home. The chicken strips were pretty good, seasoned batter to give it a nice crust & juicy meat, but the last strip was on the thinner side so it was drier & tougher than the 2 thicker strips. The onion rings were somewhat bland, & the thicker rings were a bit raw & could use a few more seconds. Calf & Chick is a fast-casual restaurant that specializes in halal Mediterranean food & American-style breakfast; its menu consists of breakfast (eggs & omelettes, pancakes, crepes, & waffles), salads, sandwiches, sides, & pastries. Service is friendly & welcoming, but not enough to overcome order execution issues for a return visit.

The lighting is warm and intentional, creating an intimate, upscale vibe without feeling pretentious. Whether you're on a romantic date or just catching up with friends, the beautiful interior design--complete with subtle traditional accents and modern elegance--sets the perfect stage for a memorable meal. For dinner I kept it classic with the Aloo Gobi and Basmati Rice, and it was executed to perfection. The cauliflower was tender yet retained a slight crunch, and the potatoes were buttery soft. The rice was incredible fragrant, fluffy, and served in a generous portion. It was the ideal canvas for the rich flavors of the Gobi. The service was impeccable--attentive but never hovering. It's rare to find a spot where the visual beauty of the space matches the quality of the kitchen, but this place nails it. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu soon! I recommend Banana Leaf!

The meal opened with Rooh Afza falooda and a mango lassi, each thoughtfully composed. The falooda was aromatic and layered without being cloying, while the mango lassi struck an ideal balance between fruit, dairy, and sweetness--refreshing and composed, not dessert-heavy. The transition to savory dishes was seamless. Pani puri arrived crisp and well-structured, with a pleasantly sharp, clean pani that avoided overpowering acidity. The chicken 65 followed--crisp on the exterior, tender within, and seasoned with confidence. The spice was assertive but controlled, allowing the dish's texture and flavor to remain the focus. For the mains, both the mutton biryani and chicken biryani were commendable. The rice was aromatic and distinct, the proteins well integrated rather than buried beneath spice. Each biryani stood on its own, demonstrating careful layering rather than relying on heat alone. The standout of the meal was undeniably the lamb vindaloo. Rich, deeply spiced, and unapologetically bold, it delivered complexity without heaviness. Paired with soft, well-cooked naan, it was the most memorable dish on the table and a clear indicator of the kitchen's strength with traditional preparations. The meal concluded with two varieties of dosa, both expertly executed--crisp, light, and evenly cooked, served with flavorful chutneys and sambar that complemented rather than distracted. While the service was a little slow, it felt more reflective of the care taken in preparing each dish rather than inattentiveness. The pacing ultimately allowed us to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. Banana Leaf succeeds not by spectacle, but by consistency, authenticity, and technical precision. For diners seeking serious South Indian cooking with depth and integrity, this restaurant stands out as a reliable and rewarding choice in LA.
