Pho was not that flavorful. Not like the best tasting pho in Alhambra. The customer service was really bad. I sat there for like 15 minutes before my order was taken and I was the only customer. I wonder if anyone that comes here and gives it a 5 star or even 3 have ever really had Good Pho? I'm sorry but this place didnt do it for me.. The chowmein had a weird taste to it. I ordered a combination chowmein and it had like 60% veggies and 10% meat if any and the rest was noodles.. Now for the Pho soup not the business it was tatseless and very little chicken it was mainly noodles hardly any mint leaves and the broth had no taste which was awkward.. I got a small thai tea not so bad but for soup and noodles and a tea i paid 24$ and some change.. Pretty pricy for their quality of food and quanity.. Honestly it was a bad experience over all.. I really wanted my money back since i hardly ate any of it.. I give it two stars for the tea.. read more

So for a Sunday night everyone knows resturants are busy! Wanted to go to Chili's but since kids were in the bar area there wasn't any seating. Pho whittier was a way better choice. My fiance and I were seated immediately! The staff was very friendly. The food came out fast, hot and delicious! We ordered the Fried egg rolls, Shrimp & pork spring rolls, fried calamari, fried rice and a noodle dish. The Thai Tea was so satisfying. So glad we came and will definitely come back for the Pho! read more

Great food and service. My only suggestion is don't order water to drink because it doesn't seem filtered and tastes like tap water.

Let me preface this by noting that on a usual day, anytime I have eaten at Pho Whittier I was always satisfied!!! HOWEVER, and this is a HUGE HOWEVER!!!! Today when I was about to eat my shrimp pho, there were TWO ROACHES in my noodles. ONE was still ALIVE and kicking!!..... My husband immediately took the food away and went to return it. When I phoned to advise them of the situation, there was response was not shock, not appalled, no apologies, NOTHING of the sort that would lead one to believe that this was not up to their standards. Their response was simply "oh....would you like to bring it back and order something else?" REALLY?? NO I WOULD LIKE TO ORDER SOMETHING ELSE EVER AGAIN!!!! We happened to be in there area visiting and looking for an authentic pho spot. We happened to stumble across this pho place located off of laurel ave. There is plenty of available parking out in front of the restaurant so it was nice to be able to park and go right in. We came on a Sunday and it wasn't packed at all. We had to wait only a couple of minutes before being seated. After seated we were immediately attended to with waters and we placed our orders for the combination pho that comes with rare beef, brisket, tendon and tripe. We also ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls. There was a little bit of a language barrier at first and it was a little difficult to understand the gentleman, but he was very polite, attentive and helpful. It wasn't too long after until we received all our food with the condiments. The soup was piping hot, the broth had ton of flavor, full of meats, lots of noodle and I have to say that the large bowl is definitely sufficient for a couple. We definitely enjoyed our meals. The only complaint I had was that after we got our food, our service descended and they weren't taking plates away or asking if we needed anything else. We had to flag down people and sometimes that was difficult as they seemed understaffed and shortly after we had arrived more and more people started trickling in. So I show up with three of my co-workers for lunch. I ordered egg rolls, two - grilled beef & chicken rice plate. ..one chicken rice plate and a house chow mein. First of all, the waiter did NOT even write any of it down and second of all, he acted like he knew the dishes i was ordering. So ten minutes go by, we get the egg rolls then 15 mins go by and we get a beef fried rice. WTF. THAT IS NOT WHAT I ORDERED. He quickly took it back. Another 10 mins go by and ONE - Beef & chicken plate came out and one chicken plate. Now I'm thiiinking mine should be next right?! Considering I got the same thing. ..nope. I was wrong. Another 10 mins go by...my coworkers chow mein comes...my dish still no where to be found. I confirmed with the waiter that it was being made. .he replied "yes, its coming" . Another 10 mins, I ask again And he gave me the same response. ..now it's been 45 mins...WOW REALLY? Don't u guys have steamed rice already made and ready to go, in the back?? And if u made beef and chicken for my coworkers dishes...shouldn't u have made the portion enough for all three of our plates?!!!! Seriously. .....lousy ass service. I don't get it. Great little spot close to Uptown! Solid menu. My five-year-old son loves the Banh Mi and Mango shake. Good pho and noodle dishes, too. When I came in a few days after they opened, I asked if they had durian shakes, and they didn't. However, the waitress said she'd add it to the menu, and the next time we came, I got my durian fix! Looking forward to trying all of their menu. Hope this place stays in business a long time. It's about time Whittier got some good Vietnamese food. read more

Very good bowl of pho! It beats everything in Whittier, and compares nicely to the spots in Chinatown and San Gabriel/Rosemead area. Their rolls are good, but not great. Be wary that they are getting very popular, and it is a very small restaurant, so you may have to wait, and their might be a delay with your service. I see them taking over the open space next door to them in no time. If you are a fan of Chili Oil as I am, they do have it behind the counter. read more

The only thing I wish they would do is mention if they will charge you extra for a substitution on the meat.
