Wife had to ask 3 times for our order then I had to go up and ask and that's when they finally went into the kitchen and came out and told me "your food is gonna come out right now." C'mon phoholic, don't cut corners. You have the ability to make 5 star pho. Take the time to thaw the meat properly before serving. You wouldn't want to eat pieces of steak that are stuck into a ball and can still taste the bloodiness so neither would your customer. Take the time to cook your broth because it could be the best in OC but don't water it down when it gets busy. Also watch out for old veggies, I'd rather get a few less leaves than those that have turned brown. read more

My family have been going to the original Phoholic on Bushard for years, and was excited to hear that their was a Phoholic at South Coast Plaza. Unfortunately, after eating at Phoholic at South Coast Plaza, my family was so disappointed. When we were first seated, our table was dirty and still had utensils and vegetables left behind from the prior customer. The broth was salty and not piping hot. My son was unable to get the Tai beef (thinly sliced raw beef) to fully cook, because the pho broth was lukewarm when it was brought to our table and was not hot enough to cook the raw meat even though my son had dunked the beef under the broth for several minutes and immediately when the pho came to our table. We told the waiter about the raw meat issue, and asked if we could have a small bowl of hot broth so my son could fully cook the Tai beef because he didn't want to eat raw meat. When it was time to pay, they had the audacity to charge us for the side of broth that was only used to cook the raw Thit Tai, because the pho broth was not hot enough to cook the meat to begin with! I told the staff that we should not be charged for the side broth because had the broth that originally came with my son's pho bowl been hot enough to cook the Tai beef, we would not have had to order the side of broth to begin with! The staff said it was their policy to charge for the side of broth, despite my explanation. So I guess the policy is if you want to eat raw meat come here, if you want properly cooked Pho Tai, you are going to have pay extra even though it's Phoholic's fault! read more

TERRIBLE customer service!! As I was getting ready to pay I had set my drink on the counter to take my wallet out. The girl then turned the iPad without even looking and knocked over my drink. Did not apologize or acknowledge me in anyway. Instead she just walks away and someone else comes to me and doesn't even say anything about the spill. She just asks me to insert my card and if I wanted a receipt. To top it all off their manager walks by, points at the drink that's on the floor and looks at the girl and walks away. I enjoyed getting pho here cause the quality was great and service was usually good . But when I came here yesterday, they served us hot jasmine tea that was over steeped. I was fine with that. But when we got our pho, the meat was way too overcooked and hard to chew on. Customer service wasn't too great, either. I've tried the phoholic at Rodeo 39 and remember the broth being rich, delicious, and piping hot. However when I tried the location in the Costa mesa mall, I was disappointed to find that the broth wasn't as flavorsome. Also had the thai tea in which I didn't finish because I've had better. The service was good and brought out my food within 5 minutes of sitting down. The ambiance is cool. I sat by myself at the bar and had plenty of privacy. Overall 3.5/5. read more

Out of all the locations for pho Holic, this is the worst location. They give less noodles, the broth is not as flavorful and the meat quality is lower. I would have thought going to a pho place in Costa Mesa meant higher quality but now I see that is not true. It was very nice of them to give a complimentary bone but they kind of force it onto your table saying it's a gift without giving you the option to accept it or not. The service was good and well attended however these workers are clearly new and don't understand all of the special things you can ask for such as the vinegar onions and fatty broth. I ordered the pho tai tai rieng and as a solid go to but much prefer the other two locations. The ambiance is odd for a pho place as they have ramen style stalls that seem interesting at first glance but just doesn't give the full vibe of eating at a pho location. Feel free to give it a try but definitely not my first choice for pho. read more

Hard to find but an introverts dream. The food was authentic and simple. So satisfying. I had been craving pho and this place was mentioned in passing. Already in the area, I braved the south coast plaza crowd and settled in to a little cubby at a horseshoe bar serving food. A body approached the window, I order, the blinds closed. This is bomb af and the service is great It was quite fantastic and the broth is so flavorful and yummy.

First time here. The broth wasn't any flavorful as in the one on bolsa or rodeo 39. We were a party of 3. We ask if we can have 3 extra spicy sauce for each person but they only brought 1sauce plate and it was barely sauce on it. it was only 1/3 sauce was on the plate. Btw plates with vegetables wasn't as much it was so little we have to ask for more. Bowl of pho was more broth then noddle and meat. Never in my life and with my friends have experience this before. We love pho Holic but this is the first time we don't like it at south coast location. Very unacceptable. read more

Hands down one of the best pho places I've ever been to. It was so good, broth so flavorful. I shared with my sister the beef and oxtail, beef was soft and good however the oxtail was only fat... no meat. The only negative factor here was that the broth was a little to salty and greasy but hey what's good food without salt. just so you know you will have to wait to get your food but they are VERY QUICK to serve you. read more
