First day of vacation! Five hour flight here I come! Checked into LAX, and I was in desperate need of a coffee. I flew out of Gate 209. This is the FARTHEST gate I've ever flown out of. It was a 20 minute walk from our terminal. Tip: Make sure you buy food in the nearest food court you see before going to any 200 gates! Playa Cafe was the only coffee shop otw to my gate. Of course a cup of coffee was overpriced in this airport. I got an iced Pumpkin Spiced Latte for $7 - their version was sweet but you can taste the pumpkin spice.

I enjoyed a sausage egg and cheese croissant while running to catch my flight. I mean I was already late but Playa Cafe staff was so quick and kind that you wouldn't have thought the plane was waiting for me. Friendly staff. Clean. The sandwich was a little small but what do you expect anywhere from now on. I remember when a newspaper cost a quarter and water was free. My water was about $8. I don't blame Playa Cafe for the prices. 5 stars. Thank you

I've walked past Playa Cafe a long time ago but never stopped by to check them out until just recently. Their location is inside Tom Bradley International Airport Terminal West Gates. I'm so glad that I got a chance to see how their coffee tastes and see what else they have to offer. Came here right before a flight and although there was no line, it seemed pretty long to make a decision what to order. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte. Illy Coffee Brand is used and it is very flavorful rich in espresso and I particularly like this a lot better than another famous coffee brand ;-) The space is small, with a couple of long bar tops for you to quickly enjoy your food and beverages while standing, so definitely not a place for you to hang out for a very long time. But this is a great option for a caffeine drink before or after a long flight in and out of LAX.

Horrible personal. Not only did they ignore my order but also yelled at me. I had to wait 32 minutes for my cafe and then was charged twice.

Their vast selection of pastries are displayed behind a thick layer of glass on the counter. They offer outdoor seating and there is a whole other section of seating next door when the main cafe is crowded. My friend recommended the espresso dul'sal, which is made with Black Lava Sea Salt, and my kiddo got a blueberry-ube kouign amann (not sure of the exact name). Both the drink and pastry were delicious; the espresso was so creamy and the sea salt cut through the sweetness, and there was real ube inside the pastry. We sat and enjoyed our late morning snack in the next-door seating. I would highly recommend stopping by when you're in El Segundo!

Each morning we went here, there was always a line almost out the door. They have a nice variety of items on their menu and A LOT of pastry options in display in their display case too. Each one looked delicious. One of my coffee-loving friends ordered an ice white mocha with strawberry cloud foam. She really liked it and would give it a 4.5/5. My friend who doesn't really enjoy coffee ordered the strawberry cloud matcha. She gave it 5/5 and said "solid matcha." My other coffee-loving friend ordered an iced hazelnut latte and she enjoyed it too, giving it 4/5.

One of the first things I noticed is that their tv screen menu only showed photos of the drinks and didn't have the price listings. Nevertheless despite not having the prices listed, it was nice to be able to have a visual of what their drinks looked like. It was the Pink Perks Iced Coffee that caught my eye. I couldn't help noticing the pretty in pink drink and the barista described it to me as a strawberry latte. I found the Pink Perks Iced Coffee to be refreshing drink. It had just the right coffee flavor with a hint of strawberry. I was hoping for a bit more strawberry sweetness but it was still nonetheless a good drink. Overall I was happy to visit and discover this little coffee shop.

However, this place doesn't really do it for me in terms of milk tea. I had the taro milk tea and floral milk tea both with boba. The taro milk tea was mostly milk with sprinkles of taro flavor and spots of tea. The floral milk tea had a slight flowery taste and was bitter. The boba they have is perfectly fine though. Neither of those really make the cut for me. In my opinion, it's not worth it for people who love milk tea. Maybe their coffee is better, but I don't care much for their milk teas at all.
