Eekk. I literally live off poke,sushi and Asian food. I've been to SO SO many poke places and this one unfortunately isn't my favorite. I came home to add more sesame oil and soy sauce to my poke to spruce up the taste and still ended up leaving 90% of the plate. Sauce isn't mixed with fish like traditional poke places which was my first indication that i wasn't going to be very satisfied buttttt didn't want to judge right away. If you know about poke eehhhh. Food: Though the format is similar to other poke places I've been to, this is by far one of the freshest poke places I've tried. I recommend their salmon and scallop for sure. Also, they are generous with their portions! You are definitely getting more than your money's worth. Service: The restaurant is small, and family owned. It is a Korean family who are probably some of the nicest people I've met. They are highly respectful and accommodating. This is truly the best Poke experience offered in Orange County! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by their staff and since I hadn't been there before they kindly explained how they would build a bowl for me and all I had to do was tell them what I like and what I'll pass on. I was really hungry so I added another big scoop of crab meat and seaweed salad which taste so good with the fish and poke sauce. I don't usually like spice on my food but I LOVE ginger so one of the staff recommended I try the Mild Wasabi Cilantro sauce and I loved it! The first dozen bites of trying a little but of all the topping I put on my bowl instantly put me at ease knowing my money was spent on a quality dish made up of all delicious and flavorful ingredients. I also helped myself to a few cups of their complementary water (which is pretty much up there with some of the expensive hotels I've stayed in). I loved the decorations inside a lot too. They had really iconic front pages of newspapers from important dates throughout the past century and clean furniture. read more

I work at CHOC hospital right across the street and I get these poke bowls (for a cheap price!) sometimes for lunch. But today when I came in I met an older asian man that ran the cash register, which I'm assuming is the owner. This man is so sweet and caring it brightens my heart. Seeing families struggling every minute of the day makes me so thankful that they can walk over to Poke Tiki for a fresh, cheaper AND healthy meal. Supporting a man that is very genuine and cares a lot about his customers. Everyone should give this place a chance and although he won't be working everyday, supporting his restaurant would be amazing as I see he deserves it!! Caveat: this was my first "poke bowl" experience. I'm not entirely sure if the entire concept is bad or just the implementation at this particular establishment, though i suspect it's a combination of both. This feels like a generalization of the same idea behind the KFC Famous Bowl to sushi, and it just doesn't work. The rice is bland (unlike sushi rice, no rice vinegar - just plain white rice, prepared poorly). Literally scooped onto this is an incongruous mish-mash of ingredients that form less than the sum of the constituent parts, with an utter lack of proportion. The fish portions, while admittedly generous, are cut into such tiny pieces as to be vastly less enjoyable than the equivalent sashimi. Spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and crab (imitation), outside of a sushi roll, are notably unappetizing in appearance. Even dining-in your soy sauce will be coming in the obnoxious tiny packets one associates with Chinese delivery. Don't understand the accolades for the service - same bored teenager/college-student detachment/impatience one expects from low-end fast food (not blaming them, just sayin'). Won't be trying this again at any establishment. Epic fail. read more

I love poke, all things poke, all things Hawaiian, it's my culture, my food, my people. This place is none of these things. It's a shame they call it poke. They scoop fish onto rice or salad with an ice cream scooper about 1 tblsp worth, and have "poke sauce" wtf is poke sauce? It's not whatever is in that plastic bottle they squeeze over the fish they scooped onto the rice. Poke is an art. It's a staple of the islands and this is an absolute let down that they can even attempt to call it that. I'm insulted that they can use the term and not know how or what poke is. The quality of the fish was ok, not fresh... but not terrible. The ingredients they used were ok. But they in no way shape or form made poke here out of anything they have. Be warned, if you're looking for real poke, this is not where you want to go, if you've ever had real hawaiian poke, don't come here because it WILL DISAPPOINT you. I hope for their sake they can figure it out because I don't see this place lasting long with what they serve using that name. read more
