    Angel hair pesto

Came here on a Sunday for lunch with a big group. Our group ordered a variety of items like the burger, omelet, chicken parm, calamari, and the lunch special. My husband and I specifically ordered their lunch special which is $26 for an appetizer, entree, and dessert. This deal is only from 12-3. There are only 4 pastas you can choose from if you order this deal, a choice of Caesar or house salad, and tiramisu or a cannoli. I got the angel hair pesto which was pretty good but definitely oily. My husband got the fettuccine which he said was fine. The only caveat for this "lunch special" is just be aware the portion size for the entree is significantly smaller than if you were to order a normal entree. We also got the tiramisu which was super whatever and the salad which was fine. Overall, the deal is not worth it and I would recommend getting a real entree if you came here. The food overall also was pretty average and nothing stood out so I also wouldn't recommend coming here for the food either. The service was also pretty slow even tho the restaurant was not filled either. Overall, the food and service wasn't great and you can easily find better Italian restaurants in the city for the same price range too.

Food: We were a group of 10 and dined here on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't full but there were some customers. The food here was good but not one of the best Italian restaurants. Some of us ordered the lunch special for $26 which includes a choice of Caesar or house salad, entree (choices were rigatoni vodka, shrimp parmesan, angel hair pesto, and primavera fettuccine), and choice of a dessert (cannoli or tiramisu). The salad was tasty. Entrees were also very good, but portions are small. I would recommend the angel hair pesto! The tiramisu also was nothing special. The chicken parmesan comes with a piece of chicken and spaghetti. The portion of spaghetti was not big and also had too much sauce. Overall, the food wasn't bad but again, not the best. Service: Service was average. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was able to accommodate our large party of ten but space was tight, and they put a bunch of small tables together.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would say it's a place for smaller groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, I wouldn't particularly recommend this restaurant. There are better Italian places around.

This place has amazing service and great food. I came here for a good steak and a glass of red wine after work. The steak was delicious with the fries. I enjoyed a glass of Merlot as I spoke with the staff and the owner of about my experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Of course, this place has good foot traffic on a Saturday early evening for the dinner hour.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here for a dinner date with a friend of mine. We were seated outside by the sidewalk which is either lovely if you love people watching or distracting if you like a little more reserved space. The food was pretty good, the eggplant special was probably my favorite. Service was solid and the owner was very kind. Overall a good option for an average Italian dinner restaurant.

Had high expectation for this place but was disappointed. Despite restaurant half full, service was not attentive with server forgetting request or walking away as soon as they ask what we wanted to order. Food was just ok and not justify especially when you look at the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was ok and the restaurant is a mix of locals and tourists.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would not come back again - lots of better other option nearby.

Came here a few times prior over the past few years., My brother was visiting with his wife who now live in Arizona and we wanted to get together at a convenient spot. I gave them 4 stars for food and service. The restaurant has been here a long time and I would give them 2 stars for decor and ambience. The best word to describe the decor is "tired". There are a lot of new food and retail locations popping up and it's important to make investments back into the business for sustainability. With that being said the entire staff worked well as a team, were very friendly, did not rush us, no time limits and the food was good. They have an extensive menu, full bar, indoor and outdoor seating which the outdoor seating is pet friendly. We started with some Chianti wine and a few appetizers which were the Melanzane which was eggplant with tomato sauce and Fontana cheese. We also shared the Gamberone which is grilled shrimp sautéed in olive oil and garlic. For entrees we shared the spaghetti squash with grilled chicken and shrimp, the salmon and the Pappardelle with 6 oz. lobster tail, shrimp, spinach and shitake mushrooms in a garlic light tomato sauce. Everything was tasty and a good size portion. For desert we shared the profiteroles which are Chocolate covered cream puffs with chantilly cream. I would recommend them as long as you can look past the slightly tired look. Service and food was good.

Walked by here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, they have nice outdoor seating, so we decided to stop. On Columbus between 70 & 71st, perfect location to stop by after a nice walk in the park. Staff is very friendly and the food is good. Weekends have brunch, but traditional Italian is excellent. BTW... if the inside looks familiar, it was featured on Seinfeld It was the popular breakup spot, but this neighborhood trattoria serves good home cooked classic food and drinks. Vongole Oreganata are 8 nice sized whole clams baked with garlic, oregano and not too bready. Chicken Parm was a big portion with crisp chicken, a very good sauce and topped with the perfect amount of mozzerella. It was a nice lunch, in a nice setting.

Had dinner last night and it was not as good as we have had in the past. Food was lacking flavor. Service was slow and unattentive. Had a reservation yet we had to sit outside in the shed....humid and a lot of bugs. The only good thing was the bread and Pomodoro Bellini.

Friendly and courtesy staff met us at the door. We went around 4:30 on Sunday. By 5PM it was getting busier and busier. They take reservations. We had entrees and tea. Food was hot and very tasty. A good place to go if you're in the neighborhood. We spontaneously came across this spot and recommended it.

Came here last Sunday with the family , decided to sit outside since my mom still doesn't dine indoors . Nice enclosed outdoor seating and although it was pretty cold outside it was very warm in this enclosure , they have plenty of heat lamps . We ordered a pizza , tortellini and chicken parm , the food was good although the service was terrible We got pasta sauce on the table cloth from the Chicken parm and although they came 3 different times nobody cleaned it until I had to say something and ask for more napkins to clean it myself . They served us dessert with a dirty tablecloth instead of just wiping it down for us or at least giving us a few napkins to do ourself . I would give it a second chance since my mom lives in the neighborhood and the food was decent , perhaps service is better indoors

Things got off on to a great start at Pomodoro Rosso, as I was greeted by one of the nicest New Yorkers I had ever encountered. The wait staff was also excellent, which leads me to believe that the restaurant has a good heart and culture. A lovely ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating added to the enjoyment. Where things go is with the food. Good, not great. I can't judge based on my appetizer, as it was the first time I had ever had that particular type of artichoke. However, the homemade pasta with meat sauce was very bland and overcooked. The ciabatta, however: excellent.

Was looking for a good place to eat lunch outside and came across this place. When we were seated, we were sort of rushed to order our food since their computers were supposedly shutting down in 5 minutes. I assume it's because they were probably closing before reopening later for dinner. The waiter was nice and gave us a couple extra minutes to decide on what we wanted. The bread that was served at the beginning was served warm and very fresh. I really liked the bread! The dish I got was very tasty and fresh. The tomatoes and Basil gave a lot of flavor to the dish. Pasta was Al dente, which I actually liked. The waiter grated some cheese on top, so that was a plus. My dad got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and enjoyed it. Overall, my experience here was pleasant! I wouldn't say that I'd rush back here as I would rather try a new place next time I'm in New York, but I would recommend this place to others.

The menu has plenty of variety across pastas, seafood, and cocktails, with some unique dishes that made the experience memorable. The drinks were a highlight, and the seafood options stood out the most for me. My Tipsy Tayke: The Fragola Fizz was juicy, fruity, and refreshing. The Forever Summer was another standout, with the smokiness of the mezcal blending really well with the fruit flavors without overpowering them. Both are easy recommendations depending on whether you want something fruity or a little more complex. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Seafood Ravioli Unique, flavorful, and packed with different seafood flavors. The ravioli itself was delicate and had a tendency to fall apart, but the flavor made up for it. Standout: Calamari Crispy, seasoned, and enjoyable. It had a slightly chewy texture, but I still found myself going back for more. The Carpaccio wasn't necessarily for me texture-wise, but I really enjoyed the greens and dressing that accompanied it. The garnish felt intentional and helped bring the dish together. The Pappardelle came with plenty of sauce but could have used more flavor overall. The complimentary bread was also tougher and chewier than I prefer. Desserts: The Lemon Sorbet was easily my favorite dessert. Bright, refreshing, and packed with real lemon flavor. The Mango Sorbet was another refreshing option with a smooth tropical sweetness. The Panna Cotta Cheesecake leaned closer to a mousse in texture and was definitely on the sweeter side. I especially enjoyed it with the cherry, which helped balance everything out. Service: Warm and attentive throughout the meal, fitting the inviting atmosphere. Plates From My Visit: Calamari Carpaccio Seafood Ravioli Pappardelle Lemon Sorbet Mango Sorbet Panna Cotta Cheesecake Fragola Fizz Forever Summer In Conclusion: A warm Chelsea Italian spot with strong cocktails, unique seafood dishes, and refreshing desserts. The Seafood Ravioli was the highlight of the savory side, but whatever you do, save room for that Lemon Sorbet. Stamped by Elajas

Both were very refreshing and perfect for when we started our food. We split the VERDURE GRIGLIATE CON CAPRINO for our appetizer. This was perfect as we got nice veggies paired with the goat cheese. This was enough for both of us as we got a couple servings of the house bread. We then got to our main courses. While she got her seafood, I got the TORTINO DI MELANZANE. It didn't look like a big serving from the outside, but there was plenty of cheese to make it filling. All in all, very yummy food and we were done in about an hour. Can't expect anything more.

When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

HOUSE-MADE FOCACCIA - 10 Super bouncy with a bit of chew, this was probably the best focaccia I've ever eaten. It came generously drizzled with olive oil and alongside chopped peppers drenched in even more olive oil, which added a nice little kick. We highly recommend starting with this. TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Finished with just the right amount of Parmigiano, both the pasta texture and sauce were sheer perfection. PICI 'CACIO E PEPE' - 23 This was such a simple pasta, yet so delicious. It was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with hints of fresh black pepper flavor that blew standard at-home black pepper grinders out of the water. Despite it being the simplest pasta of the night, I enjoyed it immensely. RIGATONI - 32 This pasta was simple yet slightly innovative, featuring sausage paired with a broccoli-based pesto. There was a slight bitterness that was polarizing among our group. While this wasn't my favorite pasta, I appreciated the creativity. PERCIATELLI NERO - 35 This dish packed in more components than just pasta and sauce: plenty of crab, tomatoes, and crispy breadcrumbs on top. However, the combination wasn't very memorable. None of the flavors really stood out, and it was my least favorite pasta of the night. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 Served with a pile of golden raisins and fancy whipped cream, this ended up being a bit of a miss. The raisins were a bit too sweet, and the cake's texture was uneven -- some bites were soft and moist, while others felt dry. A couple of others in my group also felt the same way. Overall, I'd give L'Artusi a 4.5/5; it was mostly hits with a couple of misses. The pasta portions are quite small. Since each dish is primarily carbs and sauce, I'd imagine you'll likely need an appetizer or a pasta and a half to leave full. Still, I'd definitely come back for the focaccia, tagliatelle, and the cacio e pepe.

I called L'Artusi on Friday, August 21st just to check on a reservation, and the woman who answered…read morethe phone was immediately snotty. Instead of simply confirming it, she made a comment like "you should know if you've been here before," which was unnecessary and pretty rude for such a basic question. It wasn't a busy‑restaurant kind of tone--it was just attitude. Not exactly the first impression you expect from a place that tries to present itself as polished. A quick, polite confirmation would've gone a long way, but instead it felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a restaurant with their reputation, having someone speak to guests like that over a simple call really doesn't help the image.
