I've lived in this neighborhood for about 10 years and have seen businesses come and go and I've tried a lot of food along the way. I can honestly say Pops Bagels is one of the most delightful bagels I've ever had. The crunch on the outside, the soft pillowy inside, and the perfectly balanced scallion smear on my everything bagel were incredible. It tasted homemade; like it was made with heart. Not heavy or "carb coma" inducing, just light, airy, and full of flavor. I was genuinely shocked when I finished it and immediately wished I had ordered a second. Next time I'll start to sit in their outdoor area, it's sunny and inviting in a non pretentious way. I've tried several bagel spots in the area, and this is hands-down my new favorite. Brentwood location is awful service. Ordered a lot on bagel. Toasted. Watched 8 people behind the counter chat with each other, had to remind them about my order. Bagel wasn't toasted and lox was sloppy and too much cream cheese and barely any onion or black pepper. Paid $14. Never again would I eat here. Oh and lox was warm. Gross. We stopped for some bagels on the way home and initially came here for the rainbow bagel. Unfortunately, they weren't making the rainbow bagels that day even though it was a Sunday... I tried to ask and they didn't give any reason. Was definitely disappointed but we I got blueberry instead with a lox bagel. It was a fair amount of filling but not as much as I would have liked. I'd still say Pop's Bagels delivers quality bagels and I always get the Tomato Bagel as a staple for breakfast/lunch. Came on a Thursday morning. There was no line and we were able to order quickly. There's an outdoor section out front with plenty of spots to eat at. Egg and Cheese Bagel - I got this with an everything bagel and added avocado. This was the saltiest bagel I have ever tasted. It was close to inedible. I thought at first it might have just been the seasoning on the everything bagel but realized it was the bagel dough itself. Not even the avocado could tamper down how salty it was. I ended up taking off the top of the bagel half in order to cut the salt but it was still extremely salty. Towards the middle of eating the salty bagel, I ended up just grabbing the egg, cheese, and avocado and forgetting the bagel all together. My sister got another egg sandwich with a different bagel and she experienced the same thing. Judging on the reviews, this must have been a bad batch or something. Very disappointing. I love this bagel joint, located in a lovely part of West Hollywood. It is located in a little plaza where there is also a coffee shop and a Japanese restaurant at. There are a few tables to eat and relax outside for some fresh air. They make their bagels freshly in store and also sell frozen ones to go and a variety of different kinds and spreads. I got a pain bagel with lox cream spread, it was so creamy and delicious. I can't wait to go back! The service was also kind and quick even with a busy line! read more

We usually come through when we're in the neighborhood using the Too Good Too Go app, which means we get a bag of bagels picked by the staff. What a great way to try each flavor! The bagels are a family favorite now, with the perfect chew to crusted outer ratio. The blueberry is more savory than sweet, which is how my son likes it. The chocolate chip has a beautiful swirl and nice bits of chocolate. Again, not too sweet. The cheese jalapeño bagel actually had bits of jalapeño baked into the dough. It packs little bites of pleasant heat throughout each bite. The poppyseed is messy but delicious. As I was walking into the shop one day, an guy was walking out with a poppyseed bagel in hand - no cut, no spread - and just bit the hell out of it with joy in his heart. I'd heard good things about this place and decided to give it a shot. I got the baker's dozen (poppy, onion, blueberry, cinnamon raisin) and a nova lox sandwich. The individuals bagels were sliced but thrown into a bag all together which was interesting considering there were sweet and savory flavors, so maybe I should've asked for them to be separately wrapped? I just thought they would be in a box or separate bag. The lox sandwich was good, seasoned well, but the texture of the bagel wasn't as chewy as I would expect. Why does it take 20 minutes to slice, toast, and put a schmear on a bagel here? During the three times that I've been here, there is no one in line at the register, yet there's always a long wait to get a simple order. Something about their workflow doesn't add up. The other bagel shop I go to can have a line out the door and I'd still get my bagel within 5 minutes after placing my order. To add insult to injury, a bagel is around $3 but adding a schmear more than doubles the price; a bacon egg and cheese sandwich is $15. NYC would NEVER. read more

Somehow I missed "gluten free" till I was home and looked at the bag.my heart immediately sank. Doesn't look anything like a bagel in my opinion. Nor does it taste like one.
