Chicken empanadas

Great tapas in Holland, MI. I came here when I was visiting for the weekend and will be back next time I'm in the area. The interior is small, dimly lit, with a nice bar and romantic vibe. Some standout dishes are the shrimp adobado, whipped cheese with olives, and tiny tacos.

Very nostalgic tapas experience from my study abroad semester in Spain. Nothing is authentic, but I loved the modern spin on each dish. Everything was PACKED with flavor from the lemony zing on the Brussels sprouts to the rich flavor in the barbacoa tacos. Bring a few friends to help split the cost, it can be quite pricey.

I love this place. It's an amazing addition to downtown holland. The restaurant is small and had bar seating. We made reservations for a Wednesday night for 2 to be safe but could have possibly been able to walk in. The staff is super friendly and knowledgable. The food is always amazing with lots of flavor. This is by far one of my favorite places in holland and is connected to an amazing cocktail bar.

I was drawn to this place when I saw that their menu featured classic tapas as well as larger options like a burger and tacos. My husband isn't always a fan of tapas restaurants, but this place did the trick! We started with their manchego fries. These were thick cut fries covered with finely shredded manchego and served with a side of aioli. I'm a sucker for fries and was happy to find they offered them as well as the usual Patatas bravas. Next, our scallops arrived. The yellow sauce was so bright and lovely. Then came our burger. Woah. This was definitely one of the best burger we've come across anywhere. It is very fatty (it's topped with a thick slice of Brie as well as aioli and panchetta), so sharing might be the right choice. The bun was the perfect balance as it was super fluffy with some buttery, toasted edges. We'll be hard pressed to top this burger anytime soon. Lastly, we got their tiny tacos. The beef was so tender and totally filled the little wonton taco. It was topped with a red sauce that reminded me of a hot and sweet salsa - so good! Our server was very attentive and great at answering all our questions. We will definitely return on our next visit!!

The ambiance and interior design is warm and inviting with a nice modern touch. The service is welcoming and considerate of the table's conversation flow. Food is pretty good. Just like the name it is a small portion but that is the art of tapas, but delicious. It does lack some fresh green options but is very good overall. Definitely not an option for someone who is starving but maybe a good option to try something new.

Tostones Fritos- okay. A little heavy on guacamole. Would have appreciated more plantain. Warm goat cheese- fantastic!!!!! Ceviche- kind of tasted like soapy fish Chicken empanadas- delicious. Could use a bit more spice in filling Short ribs- good Service was okay. Ambiance nice.

Food was great 4.5/5. Service was good. Nice location. The only issue with outside seating is the seats are metal and very uncomfortable.

Ceviche

Please save your money and do not order the ceviche. I was hoping for a traditional style ceviche and got served this horrendous seafood salad. This ceviche was sticky, bland and did not taste fresh. Way too much scallops. I thought the ceviche at bonefish was terrible but this takes the trophy. How to improve? Add more citrus even after the seafood cures with the juice. Dice the shrimps, fewer scallops, do not serve it with plantain chips as this adds too much sweetness to the dish. Serve it with salted chips to balance the citruses. Partner it with Valentina hot sauce incase the customers need a extra kick. Cheers.

My friend came into town and it allowed me to indulge in tasty meal here. We were a little late for our reservation as we had a bit of difficulty finding a parking spot. Our sever Alex was pretty friendly and helpful with deciding on what to order. We settled on the red sangria, papas bravas, tostones, garlic shrimp, crab cigarillos, and the beef short rib. Everything was good but the stand out were papas, shrimp and beef. I would love to come back and try some other items. What a great addition for a restaurant in town.

Amazing food and service. Perfect size tapas for the 2 of us. We enjoyed the Tostonas Fritos, Truffle Fries, Empanadas, and Braised Beef Short Rib. All delicious. Highly recommend.

Spanish old fashioned & good chat

Been meaning for some time to try Holland's hot spot for small plates. Chef Luke posted a shot of his seafood paella on the socials, and I. was. lured. Cozy little atmosphere to unwind and enjoy some small plates with big flavors. Latin fusion vibes run deep through the ample menu and the original cocktails, to include wonderful variations on old standards. Try the Spanish old fashioned, the mezcal spritzer, or the black and white--each is mixed perfectly and makes you happy you drank it. We ate the seafood paella. It's rich and hearty and tomatoey, and there's lots of great seafood on top. Split it four ways if you only want a taste, but two ways if you're hungry. Service is competent and friendly. Good for a romantic night out or low key dinner meeting with the boss. If small plates are your thing, you'll enjoy a stop at Poquito.

Fun, delicious food! Everything we ordered was delightful, and the service was great! The whipped manchgo and beef short rib are not to be missed!

Great outdoor dining, usually full but we caught a break in the rain.

Exceptional food, GREAT tapas choices, terrific and friendly service. A fantastic date night choice. We've eaten several places now in Holland this one is our favorite.

The chicken empanadas and the chorizo skewer.

We had to go around the block multiple times before we found a space behind the parking lot behind the restaurant. When we got into the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night. There was a short waiting list that moved pretty quickly. The main reasons for going there was to try their James Beard award winning Trumpet burger. I also ordered an amber ale that was pretty good. It was good but coming from Chicago there are several burgers that I feel are better. Places like Au Chaval & Little Bad Wolf to name a few. My wife ordered a Mediterranean style pizza. Again coming from Chicago the pizza was very average. How can you compare this to Pequods or Lou Malnati? Hops draws a large crowd and really packs the people in. They have a good lively crowd w/a nice selection of food & beers. It was an enjoyable meal in a very crowd friendly. As someone with celiac disease, eating out can be stressful, but when I informed our server, he immediately reassured me that they take cross-contamination seriously and ensure a safe meal. While they do offer outdoor dining, we opted to sit inside, and the service and food were fantastic from start to finish. To drink, I started with the kiwi pineapple margarita--they offer multiple types of rims, and I went with sugar, which was delicious. The summer sangria also sounded amazing, but I stuck with the margarita since it was guaranteed gluten-free. For food, we shared the ricotta with gluten-free toast, and for my main, I had the Beyond Burger on a gluten-free bun with a side of chips that were confirmed to be safely gluten-free. Finding a place that is this accommodating, knowledgeable, and delicious is rare, and it made our trip so much better!

Very good but a tad too salty for our taste. So many times when restaurants try to cook a variety of different Asian dishes from multiple countries you end up w/a variety of mediocre dishes. This wasn't the case w/Taste of Asian where each dish had its own unique blend of seasonings that made it unique to the country being represented. Our host Lena was very helpful in helping us choose our dishes. The young girl (probably her daughter came out to check on our needs several times). Our waitress was really nice and overall service was quick. We ordered the Lemon Chicken and the Wedge Salad. The reason why I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars is mainly because of the chicken dish. I was expecting it to be more citrusy, but I feel like whatever lemon flavor it was meant to have was lost by some sort of sweetness. I think the Meyer lemon butter made the dish was so oddly sweet it mixed in with the rice underneath. Overall, this dish was sadly disappointing since we were looking forward to something savory and herby but got what felt like a sugar bomb for chicken. The salad was good and loaded with toppings, however, I felt like there was way too much dressing that drowned the salad once it was all mixed. If possible, I would get the dressing on the side. All in all, great ambiance, good service and a wonderful location. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong things. Still worth checking out, if you're in the area!
