We were seated but were not acknowledged for 15-20 minutes. No one came around with water and we just sat silently as waiters waited on tables around us. We made eye contact with the waitress but were ignored multiple times and she would look away and serve another table. The host randomly came out and noticed we didn't have water and said "oh you guy probably need water" to which replied "we haven't placed our order yet either". The Brussels sprouts were quite sour- way too much vinegar and lemon juice. We finished our water and they did not bring any jug to fill our water so we were thirsty again. There were very few people at the restaurant so the slow speed cannot be blamed on business. The waitress did not introduce herself even once. When our food finally came 1 hour later, there was meat in the dish and we do not eat meat. It was never mentioned on the menu. When we brought it up to the waitress, she was rude and told us to "tell us next time- even before you sit down because we put chorizo on top of everything". Yet none of the other food our neighbors received had chorizo nor did the 7 Brussels sprouts we received. There will be no next time. read more

We did not have paella but highly recommend the following tapas: mini tacos (10!), shortrib (10!), Shrimp (10!). The goat cheese w tomato sauce was okay but not great (7). I have been very excited to try this tapas restaurant because I enjoy tapas. The food was very good. Flavors were great, but for my wife and I to each have one drink, three tapas items (tomato on bread, phyllo dough wrapped cheese, saffron chicken) and the paella, it was $120 out the door. You might think that sounds like a lot of food, but the tomato on bread was three small pieces, the cheese looked like something I could swallow in one bite. And, while the paella was delicious, I don't even think there was a whole chicken breast worth of chicken in it - and it's intended for two (at $26). I may go back with a group, but I have to not care that there will be no leftovers, I'll probably leave hungry and I'm going to spend a lot. That said, I'd recommend just going down to Seventy-Six. My wife and I ordered a couple margaritas, the Warm Goat Cheese, and the 36 Hour Braised Beef Cheeks. The margaritas were strong and the food was very flavorful. People need to understand coming in beforehand that this is a tapas restaurant. It's meant for small appetizer styled food where you will order 9-10 different plates for a table of 4 and is not a one order full stomach kind of place. read more

It's definitely a place to try if you're a Holland native. Its a unique place for the area. However the food itself is just okay and there are better unique foods available in Grand Rapids. I was in a party of 3 and got 6 dishes and we were satisfied. One was vegetarian so we got went cheese and veggie heavy. Beets and Sweets: good salad, beats oranges, greens, and.. sunflower seeds? Or some other nut. I think it was a nice starter. Barcelona bread service: garlic bread (6slices) a cheese and herb spread and slow roasted garlic head that works as a spread. Baked Goat cheese: this was tasty. The cheese didn't quite taste like normal goat cheese and was much softer. Baked in a tomato based sauce with a side of bacon jam. The smokiness and saltiness of the bacon played perfectly with the tomatoes and cheese. Stuffed peppers: we choose cheese stuffing. It seemed like the same cheese as the baked goat cheese but had mushrooms in it. Saffron chicken: Panko?.. Crusted with grilled yellow bell pepper on top. The chicken was a little dry. The saffron aioli was a little bland for me. Garlic shrimp: they gave you quite a bit of shrimp! Garlic purée/sauce was a bit too salty. Shrimp itself was good. I think if there was more bread to go with it or something to balance out the salt, this would have been a great dish. I also had their Pinot noir, which was really good! read more

Great food and service! My husband and I walked in at 6:30 on Saturday evening without a reservation and were offered a seat at the bar. Enjoyed the classic sangria. We shared the Garlic Shrimp Adobado, Tostones Fritos, and Smoked Chicken Empanadas; everything was fantastic! Topped off the meal with Churro Bread Pudding. We will definitely be back. read more

Could be a great place, but we cant seem to book a table. We are guessing that Poquito is closed on Monday. But Yelp says it is open. The phone number listed just says "the party you are trying to reach is unavailable, please leave a message". Does not even acknowledge the restaurant. So we left a message - twice. Never got called back. Checked the website. I imagine the hours are there somewhere, but we could not find. Would be helpful if Poquito used Open Table or any reservation service. my boyfriend and i walked past this place back during tulip time and wanted to try this place for a future anniversary. we came here on a whim last night and we were left a bit disappointed. first our food took forever, each dish probably had 25 minute wait in between each dish that came out. our waitress was nice as we sat at the bar but it took her a minute to check in on us but it was all good, i had the zona rosa and was left disappointed the drink was super strong so i told our waitress and she was kind enough to take the drink off our bill so we are so grateful for her! my boyfriend also agreed that their al pastor taco was a bit too salty and needed some other garnishing to balance the flavor maybe a bit of like cilantro or extra onions or something to get that saltiness away. he also ordered the chicken taquitos but the they looked a bit burnt on the ends, we cut the ends and ate the middle sections to make up for the burnt ends. overall would i return back? maybe no for a while. read more

What a quaint little find in downtown Holland, Michigan on trendy 8th street. A great little Spanish tapas place with great food. The charcuterie plate was exceptional as was the paella. Be careful - the menu says it big enough to share but I could have polished it off alone easily. The atmosphere is casual and the servers are attentive and helpful. It was non-typical compared to the classic ones they also offer, but I was blown away at how well the flavors of beef short rib and mushrooms played with the rest of the dish. I had gone to this place to try it out, they had said the wait would be 30 minutes. As we waited we watched 3 groups with more people come in later and get seated first. By the time they contacted us, an hour and a half later, we were already eating at butch's dry dock. I do not recommend this restaurant as I found it too expensive given the extremely small plates. A few examples include the scallops at three for $14, or the chicken and ham croquettes which had no sign or either ham or chicken. They tasted like a breaded mashed potato dollops. The baby kale salad for $7 was not big enough to share.The sangria consisted of a glass full of ice with maybe 4 ounces of sangria for $9.
