I use to go here all the time when I worked near the mall. I would usually get tater tots or Jojo chips with some combo of garlic & parmesan, chili BBQ, and sour cream & onion powder. The fries themselves were always good but the most recent time I went (1-2 weeks ago), the jojo chips were severely undercooked and wet. I'm not sure if it was because of that one worker who was making it or if the quality went downhill (which I hope isn't the case since I always go here when I visit this mall xD). In terms of the flavors, it's good but sometimes the powder is not distributed evenly or there's too much the fries become salty. This potato corner location is very popular. The mall just opened for indoor dining, so it was pretty packed. Potato corner is located near the Disney store, lego store, and build-a-bear, so we were surrounded by long lines of families shopping. Food: the garlic Parmesan seasoning was good, and the curly fries were nice and crispy. We got it to go and the fries were crispy at first but got soggy after 10-15 minutes. Wait: The wait today was 15-20 minutes. They ran out of 2 flavors of seasoning, but service was pretty speedy. Don't know if it was on purpose but the piece of paper has prevented the bottom half of the container to be filled? They also didn't have as much powder last time, which is a little of a bummer. Like everyone is saying, they are very busy and it takes a while to get your fries. I thought things would be a bit faster now that they have an actual store, like maybe they would have larger capacity for frying stuff, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The smokey flavors with bbq goodness just works so well with potato, especially loopy fries. I have tried the tater tots and original too, no complaints, I just prefer loopy fries with flavoring. There can be a wait at times if there are a lot of orders. They don't have fries just sitting out, fresh to order (from bag to cook). Just be ready for a little wait if there are a lot of people there, but you'll get a large portion of piping hot fries! I make it a point to get some fries from here anytime I'm in the area. My go-to order is sweet potato giga size with BBQ and Sour cream & onion. It's a kiosk in the mall so be prepared for a possible wait. Service could use some improvements when it comes to calling you to pickup your order. With the current restrictions in place you are in a separate waiting area and the person calling the names can be hard to hear, so you kind of have to go off the who was in front of you to know that your order is almost ready. I LOVE Potato Corner! Not sure why it's so addicting honestly but without fail every time I go to the mall I need to get myself a cup. My favorite flavor is probably garlic parmesan because it's not as sweet as the other flavors. They're very liberal with the flavoring and the portions are good for the price, considering it's in a mall. Me and a friend can get the medium size (~$6) and be satisfied. The fries aren't freshly cut and it's not like they use gourmet flavoring either, but something about the smell of fried goodness is so hard to resist, especially when you've worked up an appetite walking around. I'm sure the profit margins are great since they use frozen bagged fries, but that's clearly never stopped me. Sometimes the wait can be really long though, and the workers seem a little... dead? tired? Makes sense seeing how many people are always waiting for their fries or in line. Some of the best fries I've had!! I always get the regular fries with a mix of chili BBQ & garlic parmesan and it's sooo good! I've also tried the cheddar seasoning which is good too! I'm convinced all the flavors are good LOL The jumbo size is pretty big and can be good for 2 people to share. I came on a Thursday around 4 pm and there was maybe 4-5 people in front of me. What's something easy to prepare, love by many and super affordable? Fries. Potato Corner is such an easy concept yet it's thriving and expanding all over California. They have three sizes: you would think the 'jumbo' is the biggest size. Nope, it's the smallest yet it's enough for 2-3 people to snack on. Fries are prepared within minutes and you get to choose your seasoning whether it's cheddar, bbq or sour cream and onion. So simple yet so tasty! The reason for three stars is because the employees were definitely distracted by each other (the flirting made the rest of us uncomfortable). In result, they forgot to prepare a couple orders including half of my order. The young lady forgot to put an order in and we had to wait longer than necessary. After she finally finishes frying the potatoes, another employee rushes to season the regular fries that my cousin ordered. She asked for sour cream + bbq seasoning on them. They weren't very seasoned and they tasted just like regular fries. Whereas, my sweet potato fries were over seasoned with the sour cream powder and it ended being too salty. Whenever I go to Valley Fair, I HAVE to visit Potato Corner. Despite the name, Potato Corner doesn't ONLY serve potato-based dishes. They just MOSTLY serve potato-based dishes with some options of chicken and soda accompaniments. There are two elements I look out for when I get food here: sitting space and line/waiting time. Maybe, it's because I usually get a giga-sized fries (and therefore it's a lot harder for me to walk around while eat it, even when they do bag it), but I usually look for a place to sit. Doubly so if I'm with certain friends that need a lot of ketchup with their fries and therefore REALLY need a place to set down. It's definitely a challenge finding seating in the area, especially lately. I've been coming to Potato Corner for a while now, and it didn't use to be this busy ALL THE TIME. There's tables off to the side and couches near Macy's entrance just the other way. If you aren't going to be eating while window shopping, you'll find a spot with luck. (Don't try sitting at the Subway, we nearly got chased out until we bought a bottle of water.) Secondly, as mentioned before and often among the reviews lately, is the wait time. People aren't kidding about the wait time. The last three times I went, I've waited 45 to 65 minutes from waiting in the paying line to getting my food. Additionally, I've been there at 3 in the afternoon, and while there was a short line, the crowd waiting for their food was HUGE. And during the busier times, people tend to either have to walk around the other side or shoulder their way through aforementioned crowd. Same horrible advice that I gave the Golden Gate Bakery, sacrifice one to wait, pay, and get the food. Only ONE must be sacrificed. Also, remember to get napkins. If you're like a lot of people and eat fries with your hands, the spices/flavorings are GOING to coat your fingers like Cheetoh dust. They also have free water. They provide a variety of fries, taters tots, wedges, and hot potatoes. All perfectly crispy and flavorful and well seasoned. At the same time, it's great, because you get your favorite form of fries YOUR way and suited to YOUR taste. When I go, I usually get a giga-sized sweet potato fries with bbq flavoring (vs chili bbq), which is pretty spicy itself. Every time I come to the Valley Fair Mall, I always get so ecstatic to come to this place for some reason. You basically get to choose which bowl of fries you want. For the fries we chose the Original Fries with BBQ Seasoning and the curly fries with Garlic Parmesan seasoning. The Garlic Parmesan was good but a bit salty and became hard to eat after a while. The BBQ fries were perfectly seasoned and paired well with the BBQ dipping sauce. So far from the flavors we've tried, we give the fries a 9/10, however the chicken was kind of disappointing due to its taste and lack of seasoning. Such a great place to get your carb load on. You start off by choosing your size, style of potato and then flavor. I came here with a friend and the mega ($6) is more than enough for two. We stuck with the classic style although I have had the tater tots before and those are equally as good. For the flavor we got the cheddar and sour cream and onion.
