I really enjoy this location of Press. I love the open, airy atmosphere and the abundance of natural light that flows into the space. And this place is BIG. There's so much seating. There's an entire loft area upstairs with extra seating which can be a great a place to work, as well as an outdoor patio. It's really neat to see the roasting in action on the first floor, too. I always order an almond milk latte which is consistently really great. The espresso is not too acidic which is the way I like it. There's a big, free parking lot outside so you can spend enough time at Press to meet a friend for coffee or to get some work done. 10/10 recommend as somewhere fabulous to hang out and grab a tasty cup of coffee. read more

Press is our favorite local coffee shop, and this location is fancier and larger than all the others. It has some patio tables and a second level to accommodate more seating. We love Press because they only charge $.50 for two additional shots, which is much cheaper than any other coffee shop I've been to. Their cold brew is second to none. Dropped by this location of Press with a friend and loved how cute it was! Definitely aesthetically pleasing but also has a calm and relaxing interior if you want to get some work done. Their coffee menu is standard across all stores so not much difference there -- uniform and helpful for your caffeine fix. The vibe, the people and of course the drinks here are amazing. I recently decided to take a break from coffee/espresso and as much as I miss my iced latte with oat milk, my new matcha habit has given me a new reason to check out multiple coffee shops in the area to see who has the best matcha. Surprise, pressed won again. The matcha shaker(iced matcha with oat milk, shaken in a martini shaker the way every cold drink should be) is ridiculous and they use legit ceremonial grade matcha which makes a huge difference over culinary grade(cheap a$$ matcha). Coffee is life! I stopped in at Press to take a break from my desk last week. The line got really long behind me &, I was struggling w: what to order. Basically- I wanted a macchiato but- I know that Press macchiatos are not at all like a "Starbucks" macchiato. The Press macchiato is about 3 oz. This wasn't a surprise to me because, I used to order this at Press in Scottsdale. Michael (Manager) was taking my order. I know this because - it's memorable when you actually have a conversation in the coffee line that most all are in a rush to get through. Not gonna lie/ my coffee break was "necessary" in that, I was in post holiday frazzle. Frustrated w: much by the end of the week w: ALL things. When asked by Michael how my day was going-a genuine response came out of my mouth. We are all always in such a rush especially in service driven professions that we can forget the basics- smiling - listening- building rapport. Michael didn't skip a beat and was tuned in. This is probably why customers come back. The recommended latte was perfect. It hit the spot with oatmeal as a sub. My 2022 agenda- Practice Press breaks more often! I've had the Press Roastery bookmarked for months now after seeing their cool facade show up on my Yelp feed but having looked it up previously, never made the drive down since it seemed a little out of the way. Then I got lost on the way to brunch at the Original Breakfast House and I told myself, we're doing coffee here after brunch. And that we did. The Press Roastery serves up not just regular drip coffee and your usual list of lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas, but several other specialty coffees brewed with a clover press, or Chemex, or some cold coffee press thing of that I've never heard of and went with since I am very susceptible to the power of suggestion and that's what my barista recommended. Unfortunately, it wasn't as strong as I would've liked but I think that comes with the territory when it comes to cold coffee (unless you're talking cold brew). Beyond coffee, they also have a few healthy breakfast/lunch options and a bar. With options for Skrewball (peanut butter whiskey!) in their usual non-alcoholic peanut butter shaker nonetheless. Menu items aside, I love the space. It has a spacious, modern warehouse vibe, with an upper deck which I adore. My friend and I trekked up the stairs (gotta burn off those brunch calories) and took a seat at their couches to enjoy our coffee. For those studying, they do have individual tables as well as a communal bar table - my personal favorite since I love that it's high up enough that my feet don't touch the ground. I used to enjoy the Press at The City North, and missed them when they left. The location at the Quarter wasn't ever has 'homey' feeling, to me (and the parking sucks). This location solves the parking problem for sure (they've got their own lot, right there). The buildout is really cool - very modern - high, open ceilings - a large loft seating area, plus inside and patio seating on the ground floor. They've also got their roastery on site - bonus. So, since we came for lunch, I chose the Turkey Brie sandwich, and ordered a pourover with the Ethiopian bean they had. The sandwich was pretty good - a little sweet for my liking, but still a good gnosh. The pourover was a Chemex (not my favorite) and, oddly, it came served in a paper cup, even though we had a food order 'for here' - nobody asked, and I didn't think it needed to be stated when I ordered. That was a double disappointment on the pourover - they fixed it, but poured it directly into an unheated cup. Still tasted much better than Charbucks, but definitely room for improvement (how about V60 into a warm, porcelain cup? :-)) Definitely a nice place to grab a bite and a cup of coffee and chill for a while! read more

Enjoyed the cappuccino and vegan banana nut bread here! The chocolate chip cookie was TOO sweet for me. The banana nut bread was delightful! Tender and moist, with great banana flavor and not too sweet. My only complaint was the slice wasn't larger, hehe. I seriously considered buying another slice for my Mom, but didn't due to the price for the size given. I asked which bakery supplied this location's goods, and I was told "Salud," a local bakery. No one could get ingredient info for me, which is why I only rated this location three stars. Press is fairly new to the neighborhood and I am so pleased to have it nearby a lot of the things that I frequent. Initially, parking was sparse, or really it was just so busy, but now they have opened up their parking a bit more and I don't seem to have any issues finding any parking. The building itself is very modern and different than the architecture of the 32nd/Shea neighborhoods. The service is for the most part friendly and accommodating. They have a small bit of vegan goodies in their case. They do offer alternative milks, and the coffee is very good. The space is very clean, open, and attractive. I would love to come here on a free day and hang about with a book or my laptop. The upper sitting area is cozy and there's access to plenty of plugs! Again, super happy that Press is in the neighborhood. I hope to see more of it and am curious to see how they might further incorporate themselves into the neighborhood! read more

Such a great coffee and breakfast spot. Very clean, modern aesthetic with friendly staff and top of the line drinks and food. My wife and I come here about once a week and love the breakfast burritos, their iced teas, and iced coffee drinks (especially the cold brew shakers!). The wait for food can be long, so if you're in a hurry or just getting it to-go, I'd recommend ordering through the app ahead of time. Price is just a tad bit high, in my opinion, especially for the amount of food you get, but not enough to deter us from visiting. read more

Not my absolute favorite cup of coffee in Phx but it is still very good! We came here after we were tired from errands for an afternoon pick me up. Walking is it was very cute and hipster. Lots of seating throughout the place both on the main floor and in the loft area upstairs. I personally like to study in a quiet environment and it was a little noisy but probably would be fine with some headphones on. We ordered two iced lattes with oat milk and one had vanilla (1 pump instead of the normal two). Both were good and the espresso tasted very smooth. I also liked the oat milk they use..made it creamy and delicious! Also got a chocolate muffin for a friend and they seemed to enjoy it. Overall, definitely didn't experience any of the negative things that were stated in recent reviews! No complaints and would come back just didn't absolutely blow me away! 10000x better than any coffee chain (aka Dutch Bros or Starbucks) and that's all I can ask for. Support local! read more

Well, my first visit to what is a gorgeous looking property ended with surprise when the mustachioed manager flipped off "oh we're out of Nitro and you're credited." No I'm sorry. No expression that the customer might be right when I said I wasn't credited. I even asked for a voucher, which seemed like the worst thing I could have said. Why doesn't your App prevent you from ordering the item if it is out, like Starbucks. Well I said it. The S word. I am clearly now the enemy ;) I am amazed at how often investors fail on return by not spending a measly few hundred on a professional mystery shopper that cpuld cost them business from within their store. Yes, indeed their signature product is awesome, but I'll pass on the attitude reps hiding being their shiny new POS Tablet Stations. I'm off to Starbucks. I even gave them a tip. read more

My wife and I stopped in here recently for the first time when we were in the area on my birthday, and we had a really good experience. We loved that the baristas seemed to know their stuff about coffee and didn't mind questions. So often, coffeehouses have staff who know how to follow the standard recipes but don't know any details, for instance, about the notes of the coffees they serve--if they even know what "notes" are. We're not coffee snobs, so that's okay, but it's just really nice when the baristas know what you are talking about and understand why you want to know. For example, I like a coffee with chocolate or caramel notes, and it's not a weird question to ask about that when you'd prefer not to be drinking something with fruity or floral notes to it. That's a big difference in how a coffee tastes. Unfortunately for me, the cold brew here, at least on this day, was on the fruity side, but at least you can purchase it knowing what you are getting into! The environment is quite different from what you'll experience in the typical coffeehouse, as you are essentially drinking in part of the Press Coffee Roastery, and that's the appeal. I wandered past the roasters, right next to the restrooms, and admired the amazing machines. We headed upstairs to the loft and found the one place left to sit until a couple of other customers vacated a great table overlooking the downstairs area. My wife and I sat and enjoyed our drinks there while chatting for awhile before heading out for the remainder of our stops that day. Good Morning, In the past, I would skip this step and opt to never return, having experienced the most odd and unpleasant circumstance at an establishment. Now I study company cultures and leadership communication, and I feel this should be addressed- even if I'm wrong: I would like to know WHY. Yesterday, I met a friend at your north Phoenix location, The Roastery (10443 N 32nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85028) and I would like to start off by saying the space was IMMACULATE. Top marks for cleanliness and aesthetics. We were warmly greeted at the counter, and questions were answered in a professional and friendly manner. Upon the conclusion of our transaction, we were then informed that "just to let you know, we close at 4." Ok. That didn't strike me as 'odd' it was 3:45 PM, and I have come to appreciate establishments giving their patrons a courtesy "heads up" in case they need to make any and all last minute purchases, before EOD and the registers close (akin to a LAST CALL.) No. That is not what this was. My friend and I found a table and commenced with our catching up. At 4:00 PM, I literally watched your associates go from table to table asking each patron to leave. Pointing at their watch, informing each guest that it was indeed 4:00 and that "just to let you know we close at 4:00." Standing over each guest until they awkwardly gathered their things to leave. This included me and my friend. I have to tell you, this was the most bizarre interaction I have ever experienced. Is this policy? Asking guests to leave at the strike of 4:00? How do you think this made US feel? I have never been hustled out of a restaurant for such unexplainable reasons. My coffee wasn't even halfway consumed. This is Phoenix Arizona in July- we didn't even have the option to go out doors- it was 106° outside! Why couldn't we have 15 minutes more to finish our coffees? There were only a handful of guests left- why is this practiced normalized? Is it in the training manual to approach each guest, and then ask them to leave your establishment the moment the clock strikes 4, no matter what? We are literally talking about an extra 15 minutes: tops. Don't the associates have side work and closing duties anyway? Maybe they don't - I'm not managing your store, and labor is rare these days (and expensive) so, optimizing hourly wages is paramount- I get it. Even in the most exclusive Michelin establishments, when the kitchen closes- the servers do not remove their guests from the dining room so that they can go home the minute the clock reads close of business operations. Is there a COVID sanitation process that happens and there are harmful chemicals that are time sensitive, and they were looking out for our health and safety? I'm seriously asking- why couldn't we just have 15 more minutes to finish our coffees that we paid for? This is borderline insane, and reeks of inexperience and lack of critical thinking. Why would I choose YOU over the dime a dozen other options for coffee after this? Isn't it the experience itself that informs the future choice of "next time?" After this, I can promise you there will not be a next time. I look forward to your response, and hopefully a teachable moment for everyone involved. *UPDATE* Response from the establishment: Hi Damon, Thanks for the email and the feedback. We do work to get customers out of the cafe shortly after 4:00 in the most polite manner possible because it allows our staff to start to mop and count the cash drawer, the primary closing tasks remaining. Most side work is typically complete by 4:00, when the cafe is ready to be closed. To close a store we have to flip all chairs up, mop all floors, wipe down all tables, etc etc. This work cannot be done with customers sitting at the tables and the doors have to be locked in order to count the cash drawer by company policy. I think it would be more uncomfortable for our staff to be mopping around your table while you are sitting there then to politely ask you to leave after our official closing hours. I do not think the staff treated you rudely or unfairly. By letting you know we were closing in 15 minutes when you were purchasing your drinks, you would not have been caught off guard at 4:00 when we closed. I've been in situations where the staff might yell to the whole establishment "we're closing", and without a heads up I might have ordered my beverage for here. I would feel disappointed by that experience. I hope this helps explain why don't allow customers to hang out at the cafe after we are officially closed. The good news is we are extending our hours to 7:00 pm this month, allowing more time for people to sit. Thank you. So- JUST AN FYI: this is their business practice. If you come in at 3:45, you have 10 minutes to finish your drink. Rather than giving the guests the common courtesy to leave when they are finished: They are ASKED to leave. In addition, I ordered a 16oz hazelnut latte and two sticky rolls and the total was over $28, $32 with tip. Certainly not worth the cost. read more

Came here to do some work on a Saturday and was easily able to find a seat next to lots of outlets. I had a chai latte which was a little sweet in my opinion but pretty good overall. The coffee is a bit expensive- $5 for an 8oz! But I guess everything is expensive nowadays haha. read more

Stopped in for my first taste of Arizona coffee brew and was not disappointed! I ordered a chai latte, which is usually my go to at a new coffee spot, and a breakfast burrito with no tortilla (I'm gluten free). Both were pretty awesome and very solid. Burrito could've had more flavor but this isn't a place that's specializing in Mexican cuisine. Wish I got more pictures of the inside cause it really is a cool vibe. Press is this hipster place that must have gotten some seed money because they are opening up stores everywhere. Their coffee is decent but service at this location is especially spotty. I went in this morning to pick up a latte and breakfast sandwich after spending the night caring for my daughter at the hospital. Ordered on their app. Got there about almost 15 minutes later. My latte was done but no sandwich. Waited 5 minutes. I asked the servers if they could check on my food. No one came back to tell me anything. 5 more minutes. I asked if they could just give me a refund. They couldn't give me a refund. Keith behind the counter said they'd refund my credit card but I doubt it. Here's the real kicker. the "owner" that answers response was there. As a matter of fact as I got there he grabbed a bunch of food off the pick up window(i can only assume the sandwich made for me was there) and fed his kids. Either you exist to serve your customers or to serve yourself. This isn't the first time I've had problems ordering food there either. They all act like you are jerk for questioning why it take so long for quick service food. EDIT: Based on Andrew's response I guess I should edit. It was, in fact, Steve Kraus and his wife Tram(local TV personality). I thought I recognized her from somewhere. Wouldn't recommend. My girls and I traveled to AZ for a spa weekend. We decided to try this local coffee shop out to support local business. They took FOREVER. What's more, EVERYONE who came in after us got their orders. I hate to be a race card puller, but that's the only differentiation between us and the other patrons. We were the only black customers and we were not treated the same, essentially ignored. At the end of the day and when we finally got our coffee, it wasn't even worth the wait.
