I was a loyal patron to the original Primo's so I was very excited to learn it was returning to its location with a more grown up menu and feel. I want to give this a better review, but service makes that hard to do. Our table was a group of 4 (two couples) and outside of the initial appetizer order and first round of drinks, it took a really long time to get anything beyond that. We started with their queso which was definitely a step up from the original restaurant days (everything on the menu was), but still lacked anything of flavor and substance. The guacamole was outstanding and very fresh. My husband and I split the TX Caesar to start - though it came out after our main course, but we thought it was delicious and gave us something to start on because.... both couples got the filet mignon tableside fajitas. A fun presentation, I'll give them that. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the peppers and onions were practically raw and just soaked in oil, giving them a weird taste. We had to ask twice for them to bring us the tortillas and plates to eat off of. By the time we got that, our food was cold. So, I'm glad we had a salad, though we had to ask for it and it came out 5 minutes after the fajitas did. We had to check on our drinks and ask for water refills several times. Then, the check was mixed up on who got what. Not a big deal, but given the course of the poor service throughout the night, it was kind of the icing on the cake. I will go back to try more on the menu and hope service flaws will shake out with time, but my husband has no interest in returning. read more

The restaurant itself is very nice but the food and service are just not good. We were there for over an hour before the food came out, the waitress came to the table maybe 4 times, and forgot to put in a meal (it was only 3 meals total). Just overall sad for a seemingly nice restaurant. We had to ask other servers for ours several times as well. The placed looked amazing!!! The service was ok, but we all know what really makes a restaurant and that is the food and drinks. I ordered a spicy margarita and what I expected was fresh lime juice and serranos what I got was the artificial flavors that come from the premixes. We then ordered the the shrimp al mojo and they were extremely overcook and very rubbery. I gave them two stars because the waiter was very friendly and the ambiance was beautiful. I've been coming to primos since they're return back to the metroplex in 2019. The main reason why I visit so much is because of the Margaritas. Last night I was in a slight rush but wanted a margarita to go. That to go drink cost me $9 which was ok. The problem was I watched the bartender do everything but help me for 20 minutes. This means the purpose of togo was defeated. I finished the drink there it took her so long to come back to assist me. I watched her take a shot. Chitchat with some folks and again everything else but help me. I actually had to get up and interrupt her conversation for her to take my debit card. Oh and the drink to go cup is maybe the size of a Capri Sun. I literally felt like I was in kindergarten as small as the cups were. As much as I frequent this place I know the size of the cup but she tried to convince me that it's actually more. Like come on lady. Anywhoo this experience has me with doubts about going anymore. By far the worst dining experience I have ever had. Not only was the food AWFUL and tasted as if it had been made in a gas station, but it took 1 hour & 45 minutes to get it ON A MONDAY NIGHT WITH ONLY TWO OTHER TABLES IN THE WHOLE RESTAURANT. After our terrible food was finally brought out, they THEN proceeded to bring out this brick they called queso that we had ordered along with our drinks as an appetizer, 2 hours prior. To make matters even worse, me and my friends were explaining to the manager that our server was so nice and we didn't want to complain but that the food was terrible & took forever to come out & she proceeded to charge us DOUBLE on fajitas that we split. The quality of service here has seriously declined over the last year. Taco Tuesday use your be everyones favorite...the tacos (had sauce) and drinks were good, priced reasonably and the servers were friendly and fast. Well can't say it's like that anymore. The service is slow and sometimes non existent. The drinks are melted by the time they get to you and the tacos are small and dry. When I asked for the sauce that I had on my tacos the first time I came no one could figure out what it was. That's a very strange thing for a restaurant. They also do this weird thing and push all the tables super close together to create a dance floor??? I can understand the concept of making a dance floor on Latin night but it makes everyone super cramped and throws off the look of the restaurant. This place has the BEST service. I've been here twice, and both times I've been blown away with the attention and great service I've received. The first time, the chips and salsa came maybe 5 minutes late (we didn't even notice) and we got free queso on the house to make up for it. The second time I came, we asked about the extended happy hour to 8 pm on Thursdays (this is an old promo we saw online) and the manager made up for it by giving us our first round with happy hour prices. We had party of 15 people, the waitor was nice except for the dirty uniform! The margarita was really good for 5 bucks. The food was a whole diffrent situation, we ordered the chicken enchiladas (recommended from the dirty shirt waitor) was dry dry dry! nasty! then we had the waitor bring us the nachos yuck!!!!!!! the meat tasted like they cooked it to long, needless to say ur entire party was very unimpressed with the food. The manger watched us through this big window looking like they where waiting on us to complain, we didnt even have the energy to go back and forth with the staff. Not one of the three reservations was seated by 10, resulting in us all having to leave and continue on with our other plans. I've been going to primos since it opened, and I haven't had too much problems besides the customer service. I went out for a friends birthday dinner. The server was horrible I could tell she was new, and she got most of the orders wrong. When I checked my bank statement I saw my total was wrong, so I had suspicions something wasn't right. Came to find out she tipped herself 60% even tho the gratuity was included. The manger didn't have the decency to call me & apologize. He just sent one of the works to call me to tell me they refunded me the amount she took. & she did that with several ppl in our party as well. We were visiting Dallas from Seattle and wanted a classic Tex-Mex style dinner in a fun area... and I think we nailed it! Delicious food-baby worthy enchiladas (I recommend the carne asada chilli relleno). Lots of seating available during COVID (indoor and outdoor). They make you feel safe by enforcing social distancing and taking your temperature at the door, but your COVID worries melt away with your first sip of a $6 in-house margarita.
