I've been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid and am so glad it's still around to this day! This restaurant is located on the second floor of a grocery store and upon reading previous reviews, we decided to enter through the back entrance which was super convenient and quick. They have many signs that point to where the restaurant is so you won't get lost. We were also advised to call ahead so that the food would be ready when we get there, so we called about 15 minutes prior to arrival and once we sat down it took about another 10 minutes for our food to arrive. It was so flavorful for such a good deal. I don't think anywhere can compare to the prices here for fried catfish. The only downside, was the place does looked kind of unsanitary. You'll arrive at a long "food court" with several tables on the left and the counters to various Vietnamese restaurants on the right. Go to the end and there is Saigon Fish Grill. My Vietnamese speaking friend ordered a medium size cat fish. I would give it 4 stars as it had a crispy, seasoned skin and perfectly cooked fish meat inside. The rice paper wrap and plate of herbs were sufficient for the two of us to make about 4 good size rolls each. There was more than enough fish for two average eaters. I was craving grilled catfish and being lazy, I did not feel like making it myself at home. Since I was also in the Little Saigon area, I knew there would be lots of places to get grilled fish. Yelp lead me here and my tummy was very happy about it!! I phoned in an order and showed up to get my order. Getting here is somewhat tricky though. It is located inside the grocery store (Saigon Market) on the second floor. Use the side entrance of the grocery store and it will be way less confusing. I really like the crispy grilled fish at this shop, the tamarind sauce is very delicious, my family has been eating here for more than 10 years since the previous owner. The fish has a delicious and fresh flavor, affordable price, suitable for every family. Ms. Yen is very attentive in her service. Medium fish - $40, flavor was ok, not good. The onions and peanuts on top was very bland as well. Fresh herbs, sauces were ok. The place is dirty, floors seems like they haven't been cleaned forever. I think they reuse the unused rice paper from other tables. The servers were nice, but they were slammed running back and forth, so the service wasn't good. The only good thing was that it's $37.50 less than Favori's medium fish. read more
