I'm surprised to see I haven't written a review before....because Rabanao is an all-time favorite - guaranteed everyone is happy - take out spot for us. Everything is so fresh and so tasty. From the salads to the kids meals. We love the La Bamba (they also have a kids meal version, which comes with a drink). The chinese chicken salad- so good, especially with the pickled vegetables! Kids teriyaki chicken comes with veggies. Love that you can order everything online, see the customizations, add-ons and all the pricing. We placed an order for pick up in 15 min and it was ready in less (granted it was early evening on a Tuesday, but still- suuuper impressed). On top of that, they also have a loyalty program! Tabbouleh lettuce wraps - I can't believe the dressing is tofu Edamame won tons - that sauce really makes it! This is going to be an epic review. First, let me thank Rabano for creating a cool concept. The menu is super California, and for the most part, my experience with the food has been good. I've probably ordered here 50 times because I live really close. The owner has served me a few times--really nice man. And the staff in general is kind. Then why the 3 stars? Well, I'm not sure what's happening with service these days, but in general, it's lacking awareness and attention to detail. First, let me acknowledge the cooks because the amount of food coming out of this place is wild! Having served, bartended, expoed, and pretty much done every single position in high-class to low-class restaurants, I understand how hard it is to maintain consistency. That being said, if I walk into Rabano at 7:30-8 PM, I'm expecting my experience to be subpar. Today, I ordered a vegan burrito with steak instead of the fake meat. 10/10 for speed, 4/10 for quality. The proportions in the burrito were out of whack, dry, and it didn't even fully wrap--it turned into a burrito salad. Maybe the cooks need some of that tip money, because the biggest issue I have with Rabano is the service. I should not have to ask for a napkin. I should not have to get up for anything. But it happens 50% of the time! I understand we live in a different world now, and this new generation that's coming up is completely unaware of the horrors my generation and the generation before us went through in the service industry. I had four-star chefs literally throwing plates at the wall in frustration. Insane standards from GMs all the way down to expos. There was no automatic tipping system. You had to serve your guest, then give them a paper receipt after their experience--not before. Perhaps this automatic tipping is fueling a complacent, droned-out mindset. I try to remind myself to breathe and have compassion for these young folks who are completely oblivious to what service is. Ask yourself, Would I want a napkin? Should I turn on this insane neon light right in front of someone eating at 8:15 PM when the place closes at 8:30? Hook me up with some blue light glasses because that things insane! Should I mop the floor at 8:20, making it very unsafe for customers to walk out? Because of my past in the service industry, I've always been willing to tip and give the love. But everyone at Rabano needs a big wake-up call. You guys close at 8:30. That's early in the service world. Young nice lady trying to take my basket without asking if I'm finished. I wasn't. Trust me I know it's 8:26, cuz I respect this game called service. My foot will be landing on sidewalk 830 sharp. I know the kitchen works hard, but you've gotta finish strong with quality. There is zero excuse not to have utensils or napkins. Everyone should watch The Last Samurai. As ridiculous as the concept of Tom Cruise in that role is, you'll be delighted to know that the word "samurai" means to serve. Have some honor, have some respect, and be thankful for the system in place. Because if I were running Rabano, there would be no automatic tipping. It's not a good system. But, like I said, everyone that works there is really nice. It just breaks my heart how unaware some of you young folks are. Time to class it up a bit, Rabano. I'll gladly raise the score to 4 stars if this is acknowledged. read more

Located adjacent to Lazy Acres at Hermosa Beach where I sometimes buy overpriced groceries (much like Whole Foods) but mostly go there to charge my hybrid car where they have a couple of free (!) charging stations, and across the street from my gym Afterburn Fitness, Rabano was always one of those restaurants I was curious about with its "handcrafted food" sign. I had to find out what that meant! So I finally made time to visit Rabano for the first time for a light snack after a workout. I ordered the Gogi steak tacos. As you can see in the photo, the steak generously filled the taco shells and was tender. The cilantro was fresh and added that flavor and twang that compliments the cheese and the already flavorful dressing. I highly recommend this. And it is only $8.50 for 2, relatively a cheap snack in today's inflationary economy. I went back a second time for lunch and ordered the pork belly Bahn Mi sandwich for $13. (I thought WTH, I'm going to Afterburn Fitness after this anyway LOL). But I was surprised that the pork meat was on the lean side ( good! lesser burpees!!). The baguette was good quality crunchy outside and soft inside which makes or breaks a Bahn Mi. It came with a side salad (you could order fries as a side but I was doing my best to keep from doing more burpees!). This was another winner. And so, I went back for a 3rd time, for dinner, just before a 2-hour long Bible study. I needed something heavy. So I ordered the Thai chicken which was a yellow Thai curry with brown rice and veggies. And heavy it was! The dish was generous with the mildly spicy curry sauce (I wonder if I could have it spicier) which I felt was too much for the amount of rice in the dish. But the sauce was extremely good that I was dipping even the veggies in it. And I ended up even eating it up like soup! The chicken breast was cooked so well that it wasn't dry. Dipped those cluckers in the sauce too of course and I was getting full before I could even finish the whole dish. Dinner for $12 with good flavors makes this dish a winner too. Now one thing, if management would consider my humble observation, is that this restaurant is extremely popular for online orders. There is a rack right next to the cashier counter right across the dining area. This is quite a distraction as so many people go inside the pickup their online orders and this makes an otherwise nice interior quite messy looking. I understand there is limited space so perhaps an extension for online orders separated from indoor dining? One last thing, of the 3 times I ate there, twice the table I ate at were sticky, they weren't really cleaned very well. I'll give it a pass, but I hope the owner reads this and addresses it. Overall though, this place is a must visit! I still don't know what "hand crafted food" means but the food is VERY GOOD and is sure to please the palate I highly recommend Rabanos "hand crafted food" !!! read more

I took my kids there. Two of us got pork belly bowls and another got Korean beef bowl. My first impression of the cafe is that the staff at the front didn't want to be there. The young Asian lady in pretty makeup who took our order was pretty cold and seemed to just wanna go home. Maybe that's their Sunday vibe? Rabano is good fusion food, just a little overpriced! Located on a very busy corner of PCH/Artesia Blvd. in a small plaza with limited parking. You can park the Lazy Acres parking lot too. When you walk inside you'll see the big menu of food on the wall with self service ordering iPads (takes card only). The self ordering system is pretty simple to use but can be a little confusing at first. Grab a number and they will bring your food out. If you're paying with cash you can order directly at the counter. FOOD: I normally order the Peruvian Saltado SUPER BOWL - $11 which comes with rice, salad or greens, sautéed onion, tomatoes, potato fries, salsa verde. Steak is additional $2. They have a good variety of drinks that you can order with boba too. SEATING: the area inside can sometimes be a challenge since there a limited amount of tables. There is parking behind farther back in the lot majority of the spots are marked for the store there so be aware of the marked parking spaces. The place is small with a few tables. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was originally gonna get a burger but I saw the sign for shrimp street tacos so yes of course went with that lol fries and the simple salad. I also got the kids teriyaki chicken bowl for mom. Overall a nice spot the food was good. This place was okay. The burgers were VERY greasy, and just decent. Fries were cold, and only had ketchup, no mustard. The service was not very good. We have loved Rabano for a few years now. My sister and I usually get the Rabano fries or their Green Earth Burger. I once tried their vegan burrito and loved it. They recently changed their menu look on the wall and the vegan burrito is not listed on there. On 8/16/25, I went with my sister and she decided to get a vegan burrito as well. Since the vegan burrito is not on the menu, it is not noted that the chipotle sauce in it contains cashews and my sister has a nut allergy. We took the food to go and after one bite my sister's throat started closing up. We instantly called the restaurant to confirm if any of the ingredients contained peanuts, that's when the staff disclosed (after putting the call on hold) that the chipotle sauce contains cashews. This is something that should be mentioned on their menu as it can severely affect someone with a nut allergy. I had to rush my sister to the nearest urgent care. Rabano, please consider adding an allergen notice to the menu. read more

My friend picked up food the other night and it was excellent! The 4 of us shared 4 bowls and a salad. Lots of leftovers because the portions are very generous! The biggest pro to the food was how distinct each flavor profile was for each item. We had the Thai curry bowl, Korean beef bowl, a Peruvian bowl and a Mexican bowl. Each bowl had a specific flavor and deliciousness. The meats were tender, lots of good, crunchy vegetables over brown rice with sauces that were very special and unique. Pretty impress with how this little restaurant was able to accomplish all that without breaking the bank. Dishes all range between $9-$15. Not bad considering is grass feed, free range etc. We ordered the showtime burger that had a nice balance of savory and a little sweet. The curry shrimp with veggies and grains bowl had a creamy coconut flavor and a little spicy kick. I also enjoyed the coconut white boba tea that was not sweetened but very refreshing. The food is good! We got a burger and it was absolutely delicious. The meat is juicy and flavorful. Perfectly cooked. We opted to get the salad as a side and the Rabano fries. The fries were ok although the toppings are unique. I love the iPad ordering system where you get to customize your order. You swipe your card, take a number and your food will be brought to you at your table. The one item I do not recommend is the boba milk tea. We got the regular boba milk tea and it didn't taste right. I'm guessing it's because of the type of sugar they use. The boba was also hard and not fresh. This is a delicious tiny spot whose outside doesn't indicate how flavorful and healthy the offerings are inside! I love how many flavorful cultures are represented from my spicy Thai chicken bowl to the Edamame wontons to the Cuban, Korean, Peruvian and American flavors I look forward to trying next time. I love that you can get your bowl served on rice, ancient grains or vegetables. Many have a choice of meat. My spicy chicken had a delicious lake of curry thick enough to be soaked up by my chicken, ancient grains and veggies without being a pool at the bottom. OHHH RABANO! I've passed by Rabano several times before, but was never really curious in trying it out! It wasn't until a few of my friends suggested getting dinner here and I'm so happy they suggested Rabano. All three of them have been here before, but it was my first time. They have a pretty large menu in which you can customize it to your liking. They have two iPads to order from when you first enter. // FOOD & DRINKS // Zingy: Ginger, lemon, mint, pineapple, cayenne, sparkling water, agave. It's almost like a slushy. Very refreshing and not too sweet which I liked. The cayenne gives it a little kick which was really good. 4/5 El Koreano: Grilled certified Angus steak, baby boy chop, cucumber, carrot, gochujang, house kimchi, sweet umami glaze on a bed of brown rice with ancient grains. This bowl was flavorful and had so many different components, but it all worked well together. I really enjoyed the brown rice with ancient grains as the base. 4/5 Overall, I was glad I tried out Rabano. I will definitely come back to try out a couple other dishes that caught my eye on the menu.
