Don't order from the bakery!!! I ordered a cake days before pick up. I showed up to see the picture I requested had what looked like air bubbles underneath it. I brought that to the attention of the staff working the bakery he acknowledged it and said I'll get a discount. I was irritated bc whoever put the picture on should've redone it immediately if it's not put on correctly, I go to the register and the checkout girl, Melanie, who was not friendly and brushed off my concerns " oh it's fine it looks textured ." I replied " yes but that's not what I ordered" when I was only offered a 5 dollar discount.Liz the manager came to help who was even worse" I don't know how the bakery works"." In Los Angeles to stay for a couple of days and needed some water and snack. This was conveniently located not too far from where we were staying. The prices were same as a regular grocery store so I can't complain. Service was ok. The lines moved fast I checked out within 5 minutes. The store was clean but some of the shelves were empty, i.e. the water section. I don't know if it was because it was later in the day or they just need to fill the shelves. But we found everything we were looking for. Also, I like that there's Starbucks inside. So that's a plus! read more

I became a regular shopper here during the pandemic. With their Simple Truth line, they have a good selection of healthy and organic products at a reasonable price. Their drive up service is free, convenient and easy to use. I've found the employees generally very friendly and helpful and it's usually easy to find what I'm looking for in the store. Ralph's also allows me to contribute a portion of my purchases towards a charity of my choice. read more

Had the rudest cashier ever during my visit this afternoon. After finishing chatting with the previous customer cashier Christine P. commenced to not respond when greeted and was on her cellphone while scanning my groceries. She also did not bag my groceries in the bag I provided. I'm not sure if Ralphs trains their employees to behave this way but I only experience this behavior with this particular cashier. Maybe this front cashier should take a note from the butcher department. Paris the meat cutter has the best customer service at store in Arcadia. He might need to train others. read more

Not that anyone reads reviews for a grocery store but this place continues to have all their gift cards right in the middle of the store unsupervised. They really don't care if you get scammed. Places like walgreen and Target have taken various measures to protect their customers from fraud. Not Ralph's even tho I know they've been taken to court several times. Yet they've now created a separate guarded area for personal items to prevent theft. This place is corporate and I know there's not much choice in grocery stores anymore. But if you have the option and means to support a different business do so. read more

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my groceries from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive. So many spots for you to choose from. Take your pick. However, beware that some spots are smaller than others. Established & Staff: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, and tidy. Things are very organized and well stocked. This Ralph's has been a hit or miss for me since the pandemic has started. We've had to go to the grocery store once a week since the pandemic, and for the most part it's been okay to visit this store with the exception of yesterday. I got there around lunch time and there was a line out the door. They didn't have stickers outside for people to socially keep their distance. This store is the closest grocery store to me, and pre-pandemic, this was my favorite. Fortunately for me, I have a lot of grocery stores within a 3-mile radius from my house, so I think if I need to make another visit at a grocery store, I'll be trying something else. Stay tuned! I'm having issues with this store. 1.) The old lady at the self checkout area accused me for stealing when I was having problems scanning my items. That got me hot when in she didn't bother reading the screen telling me to take the items off the scanner. 2.) This store is cheating the people. The meat says trimmed. It looks trimmed through the plastic but if you flip the meat over there's a ton of fat on the other side adding dead weight and raising the price when you thought you were getting a good deal. Again, this store is more of a disappointment every time I go there. I went directly to the deli and waited a full 2 minutes for 3 employees to finish their personal conversation before I was even acknowledged. They saw me when I walked up, then looked away and continued their conversation. I literally had to interrupt them to get any service. I then went to the bakery where the same women from the deli showed up and interrupted the employee helping me to have a conversation with him. REALLY??? This is my usual go-to local grocery store. I typically find most of the staff helpful and friendly, the store clean and well stocked. The prices are certainly much better than the local Von's. Hopefully they'll get back to their regular performance when this is all over. I am giving 3 stars for their behaviors during this Coronavirus crisis. Since late February/early March when all the grocery-hoarding started, their shelves have been relatively empty every time I've gone. Today was no exception...there were no paper products, water products, cleaning products, bags of flour, certain types of meat (mainly beef items), cheeses, etc. These shelves, among others, were completely bare and I was there today before 10am. I overheard staff saying they are waiting to stock shelves for certain strategic times. So they have the products in the back and are not stocking the shelves regularly. Very unfortunate in these scary times. They really should be stocking their shelves at oeastnightly so everyone has access to the items they need! No matter what time of day I try to go, a lot of the shelves are empty. They also suddenly seem to be understaffed? Limited cashiers, but I always see 3-4 staff grouped together chatting in various locations in the store? The few times I've had to wait in line outside to be let in as a result of social distancing rules, they do not ensure that there are opportunities to stay 6 feet apart and don't seem to help enforce or encourage the rule. They have taped the floors near and around the check out lines, but they do not take any actions to enforce the 6 feet rule and other customers are completely ignoring the tape and encroaching on other customers in line! read more

I usually find good deals shopping here. They usually have what I need in stock, but when I'm picking up a mobile order, almost half the time the item cannot be found. Not sure why. Anyways... I use their app to clip coupons and load their weekly deals. It's great because sometimes you can score things for really cheap. I also like the fact that you can use the same coupon up to 5 times in a single transaction. The employees there are okay. They're not mean, but probably overworked. read more

Horrible experience with an dull - witted and lazy cashier whose name is Oscar L. He ran my card for the wrong item and didn't want to fix it. He said he cannot redo it. I went to the Ralph's 30 min later and talked to the other cashier and she simply helped with it, just pressing couple buttons. Yes, I love Ralph's. Been shopping there for many years. Unfortunately... for some reason, the Pasadena, Foothill Blvd. location frequently run out of my favorite coffee creamer. Italian Sweet Cream, by Coffee Mate. They have plenty of the "No Sugar" Italian Sweet Cream, but they run out of the "regular" Italian Sweet Cream, every week? I would think that they would have figured out that they are not ordering enough ... since they run out by sweet cream", and three rows of the "no sugar sweet cream", which doesn't taste anything like the regular sweet cream. Other than that.....it's a great market. Out of necessity, I had to go to Vons down the street for the Original Italian Sweet Cream. read more

What a disappointment . This has nothing to do with the Grocery purchase or service department's. I rarely buy a Gift Card, but when I do I am always fearful that somebody has tampered with it and now it's on the shelf? I dug through several shelf pegs to find one sealed up to my satisfaction. When I got to the checkout the Checker told me to hang on to the activation slip, in case there's a problem? After I paid and began leaving , she told me that their cards had often times been opened, tampered and altered then placed back on the shelf. I had already paid for the card and now after already scrutinizing the card I bought again, the Checker looked it over a second time and agreed that I was sealed properly. I went home and immediately brought out my laptop to activate the card and make my needed purchases. I opened the wrapper to remove the card , only to find that the Factory PIN number was already scratched off and 1/2 of those numbers and letters weee missing. I got back into my car and returned to the store immediately. I was in shock that I feel for this scam and so did the Checker who warned me of the scam. Of course their first words were to me was "well unfortunately at Store Level " we have nothing to do with card investigations". I called my a credit a card company , but they can't do anything for several days until the charge is posted to my account. Imagine in2024 .. not being able to find recourse for their product s sold with defective activation? Before they scan the card , they should verify the PiN strip inside hasn't been tampered with in any way. It does me no good after the fact. Those cards should be in a safe or Managerial Lockup. A separate "Lockup" for the DoucheBags that swiped the activation on my dime. read more

I've been trying not to go to any Ralph's since they decided to close locations rather than pay their workers the "hero pay" requested, but sometimes I find myself there anyway. Today really sealed the deal. I can ignore the extreme right-wing newspaper they stock where the LA times should be, but when I asked my checkout employee how to use their digital coupon, he rolled his eyes at me. Several times. I heard him mumble "I hate digital coupons". I get it, I've had jobs I hate. But I didn't take it out on a customer. Find something that makes you less angry. I tried to joke with him about it but he kept grumbling so I got fed up and left my groceries at checkout and calmly walked out. read more

As far as most people are concerned (mom always told me to "Keep some, tell some") I'm a fairly positive person. I dance between the optimism of a glass being half full and the reality/pragmatism of "it's a drink of water or a place for a small bouquet." Yet for some reason, I walk into most BigCorp supermarkets with a chip on my shoulder. I expect one or two registers open with long lines and inconsiderate cashiers, I expect loss-leader marketing campaigns that surreptitiously make up the difference on complementary goods (save 30¢ on mustard, then pay $2.50 more for hot dogs than the WalMart price). This particular Ralph's has given me a bit of therapeutic support to break that terrible cycle of self-fulfilling prophecy. It's the usual fare, but the setting is somehow more intelligent. There isn't a gauntlet of random services (Starbucks, sushi display, a bank, etc.) to navigate with your cart when you walk in. Aisles are wide and clean. The produce selection is good-- fresh fruits and veggies, and a smattering of organics, exotics, and "Asian" veggies, perhaps in response to the neighborhood demographics and nearby competitors like 99 Ranch. The service staff at the deli does a nice job, too! I recently went in for some kale salad (don't get it unless you enjoy drinking olive oil as a beverage, by the way) and they offered me a sample, gently pushed their self-service soup station, and bid me a very nice rest of the day. Good training, there. There is a weird angular aisle turn at the back of the store, and it seems that is where they chose to put the meats. Things get a little cluttered in the northeast corner with laundry soap just a hop away from the kefir. But when you're a stand alone building, you do what you can with the layout I guess. There are plenty of self-service checkouts and there is an attendant. Two or three registers are open at all times, and they are much more responsive about calling for help over the intercom to open more registers if lines start snaking into the ice cream aisle. I much prefer shopping at smaller stores (equally corporate, I suppose, but with different customer service and product positioning models that appeal to me) but in a pinch, this Ralph's can take the Pepsi challenge with those places. It won't win, mind you, but it doesn't have to forfeit and invoke the Mercy Rule. read more

The woman checking us out wasn't wearing hers over her nose, and neither was the dude stocking toilet paper. The florist Gloria was getting ready to clock out for the day. She not only stayed behind to help me find the perfect flowers, but also took her time making the most beautiful arrangement. Must be friends with management because there's not supposed to be unapproved solicitors here, but staff came and chatted so they must know. Inside bathroom toilet had stuff all over it. Girl who bagged groceries named Maddy look super high and would not help customer. Cashier seemed to be only sane person. Feel bad that she has to work here. read more
