To be honest I was super excited and looked forward to visiting this cafe after seeing it on social media. It's located inside the Polo store (women's clothing) and the men's store is directly across the store. We were seated very quickly because a table just opened up. We didn't make any reservations. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon. We tried the matcha latte, chocolate croissant (overly buttery that was too greasy to eat), chocolate chip cookie, blueberry muffin and a cup of regular coffee. The service was average. Our server was a bit odd in terms of his mannerism and the way he was talking. I came by with a friend. We have always wanted to try this place and when we came sadly there was no indoor sitting. They do have tables and chairs set up on the side walk. You walk in to order and they will bring the items out when it's ready. No bathroom available either :( The male staff was a bit snippy...like why? However, the female staff was warmer/friendlier. My friend got the Matcha and I got the Chai..both iced. I enjoyed it and it was nice to sit out and chat for a bit, weather was nice. It was late afternoon during the week so no crazy crowds. Why was I not surprised to drop $15 on a cup of peppermint hot chocolate, a chocolate candy bar, and a chocolate chip cookie? Maybe I was crazy. Amazing coffee!!! I'm not a coffee nor a tea drinker. I have coffee 3-4 times a year, but their coffee is out of this world! Hubby & I tried their croissant which was alright (just wish they would have warmed it up a bit). We got their coconut cake to try which was delicious and rich! You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. A notable unique favorite of mine is the espresso orange tonic, however. This place is very trendy right now as the Instagrammable cup of coffee. I happened to be in the neighborhood and tried the peppermint hot chocolate that they were advertising and a cookie. There was a bit of a wait, but they were very organized, so it did not take too long. I can be a little picky about baked goods because I am a home baker, but I really enjoyed the salted chocolate chip cookie! It was very good and fresh. We asked if that area would be open since it was so busy and received a cold "no" and back-turn from a woman working at the cafe. Later a different woman working was trying to push through a small crowd in the cafe and was yelling "excuse me" repeatedly and in an annoyed tone. I get that service work isn't always fun and people have bad days. But honestly, it just ruined the mood. I've lived in NYC for about 10 years, and work not too far from Ralph's. Like many folks, I've seen it all over social media and have wanted to give it a try. I did so today as I was craving a cold brew on a hot summer day, and the line wasn't too long. The ambience was lovely-- such attention to detail and lots to look at! Additionally, I was greeted with a warm smile at the door. Shout out to Eli who was kind enough to direct me towards the counter for my to-go order. I base every coffee shop off of their cold brew, and this one was markedly terrible. It was bitter and not smooth, and quite honestly just tasted like old drip coffee poured over ice. For nearly $7, I found it to be unacceptable. I don't see myself stopping in here again any time soon, but I could imagine giving it one more shot on a cooler day when I'm looking to sit in the dining area with a book and enjoy a latte. Such a lovely cafe on UES. I waited in line to be seated inside as it was packed. The ambience and decor are super cute. I got a regular latte and split the coconut cake with my sister. The coconut cake was super delicious. In terms of pricing, it is on par with what you would pay at any other cafe and probably cheaper than Starbucks (with an ambience that is much much nicer).
