Rayman's is definitely one of our family's go-to neighborhood spots. The owner always remembers my name and even gave me a tip about calling instead of ordering on the apps because the apps jack up the prices! Rayman's Nudough is an upgrade to Tu Tai 3, another Vietnamese spot that used to occupy the same space. Rayman's is a takeout-only spot now, but that's fine with me. I've been there twice for lunch and once around dinner. So far, I'm a big fan of the Grilled Shrimp Spring Rolls that come with an on-point peanut sauce. The Banh Mi may seem pretty expensive at $8.50, but these sandwiches are substantial. I tried the Grilled Pok and the Lemongrass Beef. They do Grilled Pork here better than in a lot of places I've tried in Oakland. I even like it better than Banh Mi Bale for this one. We also got a tasty vermicelli chicken bowl... the grilled chicken has a hint of the Chinese 5 spice powder and the fish sauce is one point. Next time, I'll have to make sure to order an eggroll to add to that bowl, because I love some eggroll in my vermicelli! Once around dinner, I picked up a PHO TAI. All the ingredients come packed separately, so you can throw them all together in a pot at home on the stove for a fresh bowl of noodles. Rayman is pretty generous with the thinly sliced beef. Pleasantly surprised to see this new restaurant open up! My partner and I ordered pho and banh mi to go and the food was delicious. I excitedly forgot to take a picture of the banh mi and my partners pho, but fortunately I remembered to take a picture of my pho ga and fresh squeezed limeade. The portions are extremely generous; this is one of the few pho restaurants where I've ordered where they gave me this much chicken! This makes me a very very happy person. Very long overdue review - Back in December I was throwing a holiday party and wanted to get a party platter of some sort. Did some digging around Yelp and saw that Rayman's Nudough did party platters. Based off the reviews, it sounded like this establishment would be good choice and it was local. I called to place an order and Rayman was extremely helpful with the breakdown of quantity and cost. He was in great communication with me over text as well when I had concerns or questions. He made sure to let me know that every bite of the fresh rolls would have a little bit of everything. Ordered was scheduled 2-3 weeks advance. Day of, order was ready and pick up was easy! Presentation of platters were clean and professional. No issues at all. Now onto the rolls... WOW!!!!! Rayman was NOT wrong when he said that every bite you take will have a little bit of everything! One thing that I love about their rolls is that it does not fall apart. I have eaten so many rolls before that as soon as you take the second bite, it deconstructs and is a mess to eat, but Rayman Nudough's rolls are thick and tightly wrapped ;) LOL! We ordered the grilled shrimp, the grilled pork, and the egg roll wrapped in spring roll. EVERYTHING was amazing but the star of the show was definitely the grilled pork - sooo flavorful and tender. Also the sauce that comes with the rolls is DIVINE! They gave me a whole soup container worth of sauce and it was all used by the end of the night. My friends and family loved the rolls so much they now ask us to bring/have them at all of our events. We even did another order for my boyfriend's grandmother's birthday recently and again, easy ordering process with Rayman and delicious execution! After confessing to my friends on FB that I'd never had Pho before, this place popped up somewhere. Since this is the only Pho I've had, I guess it's a little biased. Lol But it was really good to me. I tried the lemongrass beef, and I've had it about 4 times over the past few months. Once I try pho somewhere else. I'll revisit for a fair comparison... The restaurant itself is a small takeout only location. Parking isn't always the easiest (ordering ahead is best). The the staff is very friendly. I have been here quite a few times now. They only offer take out or delivery. The staff are super friendly! The food is great and it's consistent. The menu offers lots of options- I wish they had more vegetarian options but it's ok. The vermicelli bowl has been my families favorite. The fresh rolls are delicious. The parking can sometimes be a little difficult but there is a parking lot behind the building open to everyone. If you do order pickup they offer chairs inside to sit and wait if you need to and there is a tv to keep you busy. Definitely try this place - they are a welcome addition to the community! read more

Tried this place a few weeks ago, my partner asked the guy if they had any vegan & gluten free dishes and he was very knowledgeable about what we could eat, which was great. Their pho is made with a vegetable base (yay!) There are 2 items on their menu that are both vegan & gluten free: the veggie pho & tofu spring rolls without the sauce (which contains gluten) Even though there are only 2 items on the menu for us to eat, both are soo delicious! Honestly, best vegan pho I've ever had ~ it's so simple but oftentimes the simplest things are truly the best. I love that it comes with a lot of veggies and their broth in particular is really amazing, truly on point! Which I think is the most important factor in pho. The tofu spring rolls are also so yummy, I just end up making my own gluten free peanut sauce at home that we love to eat with it :) The food is so good we've probably eaten at this place at least 7-8 times in the past 3 weeks lol! It's take-out only but I don't mind that at all because I personally prefer to eat in the comfort of my own home and the pho still tastes fantastic and stays quite hot. This place was very tasty! They have so many spring roll varieties, and I love all of them! My favorite are the fish and shrimp. They also have this really yummy egg roll spring roll which I have never tried before. This place is definitely my to go place for spring rolls from now on! They were so delicious I knew I had to come back and try their other stuff Went back and tried their Pho Tai. Their broth was the best I have tasted in a while. I'm usually picky with pho broths but this was hands down the best pho broth I've had in the Bay. Since this is a takeout spot only, the ingredients came separately in bags but it was very easy to heat it up at home. Saw the fancy new sign and interesting name, stopped by to check it out. Greeted by the friendly young man in the front and decided to get the grilled pork sandwich and eggroll wrapped in spring rolls. Wowza, Bread was nice and toasty on the outside and soft on the inside. The pork was tasty with a kick of the smoke from the grill. The spring rolls with eggrolls was something I don't think I have ever seen, but this was great as well. Usually, I have to pick between getting just the eggroll or just the spring roll, but this was I was able to get both at the same time! I was pleasantly surprised to see that the previous restaurant, which somewhat unceremoniously closed, was now revived in the form of Rayman's Nudough. On the basis of the earlier reviews, I went on down to MacArthur and Fruitvale and placed my order. 2 grilled pork bahn mi sandwiches, fried egg rolls, and grilled beef and shrimp noodle soup. Well! To start, the bahn mi rolls were nicely toasted so they provided a sturdy enclosure for the generous amount of grilled pork, carrots, peppers, cucumber, all in good proportion. The egg rolls, which are long and slender rather than the Chinese style plump egg rolls, were crispy and filled with a well-mixed combination of chicken and pork and a bit of carrot. The soup is a real star, with the broth being very well balanced: not too spicy but just enough from the peppers (these come in a separate bag along with sprouts, holy basil, the usual suspects) and importantly, not overly salty. The beef gets a turn in a wok, but that's pretty close to a grill flavor, and the shrimp also had a bit of char on it. Proportions were generous. I had 1/2 of the sandwich and soup and can look forward to a second lunch tomorrow. I will be returning! read more

I got some pho from Rayman's today, the second time I've been here. It's in my own neighborhood and has been open for about a year and a half I believe, but, surprisingly, I've missed it until recently. The small take-out only storefront on Macarthur @ Fruitvale is not super prominent, but I'm glad I finally discovered it. Previously I had a vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and it was very good. Today I got a "grilled noodle soup" with lemongrass beef. I subbed out the usual rice noodles for egg noodles. I had bok choy at home so I added that when I got back and pulled all the ingredients together, but I would add some (available as an option) in the future. The broth was delicious and the meat was very flavorful. I'm looking forward to trying their banh mi next time. I'm glad to have this place nearby ... it's excellent! read more

Finally a close by, solid Vietnamese restaurant. Called these guys up and ordered various vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, and noodle soup. Food was ready for pick up when I arrived, and still hot when we got home. Family loved it...absolute bomb food. It's the new take out joint! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE OAKLAND! The Pho is one of the best I have had in the East Bay. We usually hit them up once a week. They make a combo Pho with grilled chicken and shrimp that is tasty. Service is fast especially when you preorder and the young man that works the front of the store is friendly and affable.
