Just came in for a quick bite of pizza by the slice as a lunch special, I'm lactose intolerant but I just love pizza. We'll I took almost all the cheese off except for by the crust. Just to see how the cheese taste. It was so gross. The cheese had a nasty taste to it. I'm glad I took it off. Crust was super dry. We arrived at 8pm. They supposedly close at 9. Pizza was good but we just get our pizza and they start putting chairs on top of the tables at 8:20. Then a guy starts mopping with fabuloso and it's so strong we can't eat our pizza. I asked the guy what time they close and he said 10, the sign says 9. I ordered a pineapple pizza from Ray's the other night, and when it got to my door, I realized they had gotten my order wrong and gave me pepperoni. When I called about it, the employee on the phone was extremely rude to me and claimed it was my fault and that the order said pepperoni. I had told her I had an email confirmation stating it was pinnapple, and she continued to be rude and unwilling to help me. At the end of it all, Ray's pizza was only able to offer me a $2 topping credit or pick up a new one even though I would still be charged for a delivery and small business fee for their mistake. I would not recommend this business, and the pizza was not worth all the trouble I went through. At this point, I would much rather order from Hungry Howies. read more

Decided to give this place a try. It was not good. We sat at a table and everything seemed just a bit sticky. We moved to another table and everything seemed sticky there as well. There was a strange unidentifiable order everywhere.The Margherita pizza that we had was not very good. Taste wise there was just something missing. We decided to give Ray's a try on the recommendation of Tim at Vital Care. Not only will I say Tim is an excellent physical therapist, he also gives very good suggestions when it comes to pizza. Looking forward to trying other items that caught our attention while were there. Ordered meat lovers pizza (2 slices). Server said they would have to make up my order as they did not have that type readily available. When it was served, it ppeared to be slices of a previously prepared cheese pizza with meat added and reheated. Crust was tough and dry and the meat toppings lacked flavor. Tried Rays's in Surprise today. Ordered the Monster and I found that the crust was way too hard. Could not bite into it. Hard to slice when I got it home. Other than that the pizza was ordinary. This Rays Pizza is amazing! They have very good authentic NY style pizza and their bone in wings are out of this world!!!! The specials they have are great prices as well! Large pizza and 20 wings for $20.95. And if you are hungry for dessert.... Their cheesecake and tiramisu is to die for!!! Definitely eat at this Ray's pizza!!! Very pleased with the food and the service tonight. Ordered 2 chicken parm dinners, 1 chicken alfredo, and a slice for the little man. Chicken was good and flavorful sauce, the alfredo was served in a big bowl, looked like a half pound of pasta drenched in Alfredo sauce. Each dinner came with a small salad and some garlic toast. I had a beer with my dinner, but they do have soda and wine as well. They have some Cannoli, and tiramisu for desert but I was pretty full. Family owned and operated by an Albanian family that spoke both languages at times. Always nice to help out a family trying to live the American Dream. read more

I live in California and work at a pizza place - and wow this pizza is the best I've ever had. I've had their white pizza before but today I tried the Buffalo which was amazing. The authentic atmosphere was so nice which made lunch even better. Girl at the front had great service, super nice and answered any questions I had. We're new to the neighborhood so it was our first experience with Ray's Pizza in Surprise. Someone else had place the order, I went to pick it up. When I approached the young lady at the counter she asked for my number. I didn't know. I was then asked if I called it in or ordered on line. I wasn't present when the order was placed so honestly, I did not know. I was then asked what we had ordered. I had to stop and think as we had discussed various options. This slight pause was enough to enrage the manager standing nearby. Evidently not knowing Ray's ordering process disqualified me from be treated in a courteous manner. He was truly put out. Fortunately, he had to answer the telephone (poor customer on the other end). This ended our exchange which I would have liked to continue. I asked who the man was and was told, "the manager." The young lady at the counter remained pleasant and accommodating in spite of the manager's poor example of customer service. Walking out thinking I didn't want to come back; but then, what if the pizza was really good? Pizza was as poor as the manager. So, no need to try Ray's again. Reminder to Ray's, you're only good as your last pizza! You work so hard to make a good impression but one bad pizza, one bad employee can really cost you. read more

I was not really impressed. We have been looking for a new pizza place and we have them a shot. The pizza was subpar. The fried mushrooms had a strange taste. The booths were very small and this is one of the first times I did not finish my wings. The staff was nice, but a bit creepy, they kept staring at us since we walked in the door and not in a "how may I help you" way. We stopped at Ray's, literally, because we drove by it a few times on the way to the hospital and wanted to try something different than cafeteria food. We got the large pizza and 20 wings for $24.99 which was about a 15% discount from the menu prices. The pizza was very good and the wings were decent as well. The mom-in-law loved the size of her 'small' salad. The staff was nice, service was solid and the food was good. Oh. And the take out business was non-stop. They have raised prices by more than 20% since covid started gouging customers and taking advantage of the pandemic. Low blow.

This was probably the worst pizzeria I've ever been to. The crust was dry, the pizza was soaked in grease, and the meatball topping did not taste fresh. Not to mention the garlic knots were just toasted bread with no garlic flavor at all. It was definitely not worth the 25 minute wait and me and my family will not eat here again :( read more

I will start this review with the fact that I have an allergy to tomatoes, which I told them about.I called Ray's pizza in Surprise at 3:00 pm August 22, 2020. I talked to a man and asked about their white pizza( snow white), and what kind of cheese was on it because of my allergies. He said Ricotta and Mozzarella, that was great because I don't have allergies to these two. I asked for meatballs and a thin crust. He said yes so I ordered one. He gave me the number 25 so when I arrived I just asked for number 25. 5 minutes I called back to order a white pie with spinach and sausage also and it would be ready in 25 minutes. I opened the box and to my total surprise it was regular pizza! I called back and talked to some lady and she claims that is what I ordered and I told her I would never order that because of my allergies. She kept asking did I call in the order or order online, after repeating myself 4 times she said they would make the pizza right but I would have to pay for it again. I flipped out on her and will never go back to that place. If they would have someone answer their phones that understood and spoke English well they wouldn't have problems.
