Went in there today for the first time with some co-workers for lunch , boy was it good. I had the pastrami sandwich and I substituted the roll for sourdough, I highly recommended you do that it was delicious. The bread was crispy and the pastrami was perfectly cooked. The pickles are on the side and so is the mustard I love that. And the fries are crinkle cut , those are my favorite. I also had a cup f the clam chowder, they add a bit of imitation crab on top that gives it a little sweet taste to it. FYI if the chowder taste familiar, thats because it's from splash cafe. Overall the service was great and so was the food , I will definitely be going back to chop away at other parts of the menu pretty soon. read more

We've been talking to our friends about Renae's Cafe off of Meany in Rosedale so much that they sent us pics of their Breakfast Of course that meant we had to grab lunch there too. My husband had their Ortega and Swiss cheese dip on thick sourdough bread and I had the Meany Chicken sandwich (sans bread) which had all the thing I can have (on keto)- Juicy Chicken breast, bacon, avocado, and Swiss cheese paired with a salad with ranch. I came down from San Jose yesterday to visit family in Bakersfield and we all decided to try this spot since they live 5 min away. Everything went well and food was great except for a young lady who was very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable. She took our drink orders but did not greet us or even look at us. Every time she talked to us was with attitude and I could not enjoy my meal because of it. When she came around to pick up our plates, she rudely reached over the table to take the plates interrupting our conversation and not even asking if we were finish. We were the only people of color in the restaurant, so I would hate to think it was related to that. This young lady seemed like she was in her late teens and was blonde. Although the other staff and food was great, I don't think we will be returning because of this experience. read more

Came here for the first time with my family for breakfast. It was tucked in to an industrial complex so I didn't know that this restaurant existed until my family took me here. They serve standard American style breakfast. It was good but nothing really stood out. I'm not sure if they have any specialty because I didn't ask for it. I just ordered basic breakfast food. The breakfast burrito supreme surprised the heck out of me. Normally the egg is overcooked and dried up and there's not much meat. Well that was not the case here. The burrito was huge and cooked to perfection. I swapped out the country potatoes for hash browns and it was killer. I also tried the chili Verde omelet. That I wasn't too crazy about. While the omelet itself was cooked perfectly, the chili lacked flavor and heat. I also felt the pork was overcooked. Maybe don't use pork loin as it's too lean to be simmering all day. Biscuits and gravy was nothing special. It needed to be hotter and more sausage in the gravy. read more

One of my new favorite places in town! I can't believe I lived so close to this place and never knew about it until now! I had the supreme omelette (sausage, ham, bacon, onions, and bell peppers) and it was fantastic! The hash browns were also crispy but not overdone!! However, the pancakes blew me away! OMG!!! They were absolutely incredible! So sweet and light! My friends also had the French Toast and they said it delicious as well! The employees here are very friendly and very helpful! Followed the Yelpers to this coffee shop. Located in an industrial area off of Meany near a laundromat. Ordered the Corned Beef Hash with Eggs for myself and the Veggie scramble for my husband. The Veggie Scramble was pretty good. Huge portion. The corned beef hash was a little skimpy. Thin crisp patty. The biscuit and gravy? Dry, dense, huge, crumbly biscuit. The gravy was okay. Maybe a little bland for my palate. We've honestly had a better tasting breakfast elsewhere in the Northwest. Service was good. Attentive. Offered to refill my coffee cup several times during the meal. Checked on us several times too. Noticed that the kitchen staff was very loud. I have nothing against staff having a good time, but their kitchen crew had some pretty rowdy moments that could be heard in the dining area. Ambiance was all-American country-ish, the American flag occupied a whole wall. There was a strong patriotic vibe. Overall experience fell short of the expectation. For the price, the food we ordered was underwhelming. For what seemed to be regular patrons, the place is probably a haven. For outsiders, my sense is that the reviews could possibly be overrated. After reading many reviews I decided to give Renae's a try. I was greeted as I walked in and seated right away. I used the restroom and it was nice to see a clean restroom. The restaurant was also clean looking. The decor was simple, a few pics here and there. Liked the wooden made flag on the wall. I ordered the French Toast Combo. Yum, yum! The eggs were scrambled soft and I asked for the sausage links. Good choice! The FT was perfectly golden and cooked just right. The coffee was freshly made. It seemed the staff personally knew customers as they walked in. That's nice to see. The only problem I had was locating the restaurant. Its in the middle of a business center. I drove by it twice until I saw finally saw the sign. Just keep an eye out for the sign. Anyways, I'll be back to try something else. read more

We were looking for a new breakfast spot and I saw this on line so we headed over to give this place a try for breakfast. We were surprised that it was much larger and busier than we thought it would be. We were acknowledge upon entry and they said it would be a few minutes. And it was fairly a quick wait as someone left and they cleared the table. We were seated given menus and she took our drink order. Our waitress took our meal order and food was prepared quickly and delivered to our table in a fair amount of time. It was wonderful and we both were really were pleased on the food and service. I convinced them to give Renae's a try. I was a little nervous because I know people can be hesitant to change. Today we had about 10 people show up. In town with the in laws and they love this place. Went around 1030 on a Sunday and the wait wasn't too long. I will day that the outside seating was properly spaced out but the inside was not. I didn't mind but figured I'd mention it for anyone who is trying to stay spaced out. It took about 35 minutes to get our food. I got the special of the day which was french toast with cream cheese drizzle. It came with eggs and sausage or bacon. The toast was nice and thick with great flavor. First and last time! I got the tri tip and eggs over medium. The eggs had runny whites and the tri tip was gross. It didn't taste good at all after one bite, no seasoning, etc. My son got sausage and eggs, his sausage was raw and had to ask them to cook it longer. It came back browned on one side. His hash browns had no salt. We took it to go, he thought he could just fix it at home. He took one bite of the tri tip I didn't eat and spit it out and said it tasted rotten.
