As someone from one of the northern states, I was looking for a little culture and maybe something a little different. So I checked yelp and found this lovely Argentinian steakhouse. I asked my server for a recommendation for a couple of items and they were spot on for everything I tried I had the chorizo platter as an appetizer. For my entrée I had to skirt steak ( churrasco de entraña) and it was absolutely wonderful! I would not change a thing. Can't believe I worked so close to this for so long without trying this place! Two words: Chimichurri Sauce. Incredibly delicious, but also rich in large amounts, so do your stomach a favor and dip don't drown. I had sirloin steak. Meat was phenomenal. Melted in your mouth. A little more fatty than I would have liked, but may have just been this cut. The steamed veggies and fries were, by comparison, unremarkable. Would have loved a pairing on par with the meat. Creme Brûlée was dynamite, and I highly recommend classic vanilla. This was just one of a number of delectable desserts they make that are available to enjoy. There's a "Meat Sampler" for 2 that runs $35 and is considered their signature item - going to try with a friend soon. They also have reasonable lunch pricing from $7 - $12 a plate. read more

Dined there with my wife this past Thursday. The atmosphere is very casual European with bottles of wine on shelves surrounding the back of the restaurant and a wine cellar. The place was about 1/2 full and not very busy. Our waitress was nice (I think she was related to the chef/owner) and we started with a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced (about 1/3 mark up) and ordered an appetizer (Aged Provolone seasoned with adobo with bread) my wife ordered the Palmitos salad with shrimp and I ordered the Wagyu skirt steak special medium rare which came with 1 side (I ordered the yucca fries and they complimented the seasoning of the steak exceptionally). Both were extremely tasty and above average although pricey (the salad was $20 and my steak was $48) The only issue we encountered was our entrees came out and we had to inform our waitress that she never brought our appetizer. Based on this issue and the cost of the meal I would say there are better options in the Tampa area. read more

My husband and I took my father in law to Renzo's for Father's Day. It was crowded, but we made a reservation & were seated right away. The men got a complimentary glass of wine for Father's Day. The empanadas we shared as an appetizer were delicious. I ordered grouper for my dinner, which was just okay. The next time we go I will order some type of beef dish, since I believe they are known more for beef than fish. My husband loved his lamb chops & my father in law had pork medallions wrapped in bacon, which he loved. They also brought us out a complimentary dessert that we all shared. The restaurant was nice, they had a variety of food and drinks you could choose from. If you like your meats, then you should do the Parillada. A large portion is served, which you can share or even take home for another meal. The only thing is that the service is a little slow and it looks like they are understaffed. read more

We came here with a large group for a business lunch. Though they weren't ready for us even though we had made a reservation, they were quick to accommodate. The food is authentic and fresh and the service good. When an order was made wrong they corrected it quickly. It was a nice hole in the wall with unique dishes. We were referred to this restaurant by a friend and have been looking forward to trying it. We ordered a red Sangria and a fruit margarita and it was good. For appetizer we got the Cachapas con queso which was done perfectly. For our meal, we got the Renzo's Parilla with the assorted meat. The sausage and the picanha were the best but it all lacked flavor. We ordered the yuca fries and they were not crispy enough, so if you like them crispy, please ask! I'm not sure how this restaurant has four stars. First, our waitress was wonderful. She was super nice and very attentive. We ordered the empanadas; chicken, beef and ham and cheese. It came out immediately which leads me to believe it's not cooked fresh. The chicken was so dry not hot and basically inedible. For my entree, I ordered the chicken and sautéed vegetables. With the chicken, you have the option of a quarter chicken and breast. I tried to order the quarter chicken, but was told they only had breast. Fine, I needed to eat healthy anyway. Highly disappointed in both of those especially since the potatoes were box potatoes. No bueno. The sauces consisted of Chimichurri, garlic aioli, and a ketchup/Mayo blend sauce. Why 5 stars? Because Argentina is winning my heart. --- --- --- I think Argentinian food is now officially my favorite of all-time. The churrasco....OH THE CHURRASCO!!! I will say this, I have had a better Churrasco. Not much better, but it Renzo's has been topped. The chimichurri was good, but definitely more oily than I am used to. I couldn't decide if I liked that more or not. It was interesting, but a bit too greasy. However, the overall experience at Renzo's is more highly superb in many ways: 1) Renzo's service is extremely quick. I love El Puerto to death, but the food takes painfully long to come out. Our meal at Renzo's was ready in 1/4th the time. 2) The portions are manageable. A lot of similar Latin restaurants have portions so large that you end up eating twice what you should.....and then it's sleepy time. Not that one should complain about "too much food," but I don't have the willpower to put my fork down when something tasty is in front of me. I need the restaurant to do my thinking for me when it comes to portion control! 3) Renzo's doubles as a store. They sell meat, wine and other various items. I was incredibly excited to be able to purchase myself some Churrasco de Entrana, the seasoning AND the chimichurri that they use at the restaurant! I was surprised that they were willing to give up their "secret recipe" and sell me all of the ingredients like that. But regardless, I made myself some churrasco tonight and it was good. It was not Renzo's, El Puerto or Arco Iris quality, but it was solid. I would rate my own cooking 3 stars. Decent flavor, but the server was a real jerk. :) 4) I was too full during my first visit for dessert, but I stopped back in a couple days later and had to try one of their desserts that looked so phenomenal, I hadn't stopped thinking about it since I I first laid my eyes on it about 48 hours prior. It was called Postre Chaja. I am happy to report that it tasted every bit as awesome as it looked. Wow, was in unbelievable! Argentinian steak and European bakery treats? I'm in! We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was packed, but the service was pleasantly quick despite the crowd. I ordered the Renzo's Panino that consisted of fresh prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula and tomatoes. My sister got the Argentine Vacio (grilled flank steak) with a side of french fries. The food was hot, delicious, and promptly served by our friendly waitress. Sadly I had no room for dessert, but I will be sure to stop back for some tirramisu. Can't beat the prices; $8 for my sandwich and chips and $13 for my sisters steak. There are so many tasty options on the menu so I will have to return to try more of the menu soon! read more

I wasn't as blown away as I thought I would be. Maybe it's because we went during off hours...or Linner. So, for an appetizer we had the Provoleta Parrillera, which is melted provolone cheese with spices that you eat with bread. I'm a cheese lover, so I loved it...but at the end of the day, it was just melted cheese wtih olive oil and oregano. The main course was Parrilla Solo Carne. This is 4 types of beef: skirt steak, flank steak, short ribs and sirloin. All of these meats tend to be tough if you don't cook it right...and that's exactly what it was...tough meat. However, I must say it was well seasoned meat. So, the flavor was good and the presentation was nice as it came out on a mini grill. I will try it again during normal lunch or dinner hours to give it a second chance. They got the flavors right. I was just turned off by tough meat. read more

We ordered chicken and spinach empanadas. The empanadas were like warm. Absolutely, no flavor to chicken. Very dry hard to swallow. The spinach empanadas- bland. Definitely, would Not recommend. Next we had the shrimp appetizer. Nothing special. There was no bread, butter or oil service. The Caesar salad Was Not a Caesar salad. Nothing more than cut up Romaine lettuce sprinkled with cheese and croutons. God- they have no clue what a well prepared Caesar salad is especially at their prices. The octopus appetizer was hard as a rock and with no flavor. The main entree, Renzos Parrilla was thoroughly uneventful, the chicken was dry- overcooked, probably Re cooked. The meet was overcooked despite requesting medium rare. They served us 2 plastic vessels of chummy churi dress for 5 persons. We ordered the tostones and vegetables as the side for our entrees- the Vegetables were nothing more than cold- 5 string beans 1 small head of broccoli- not seasoned but steam thrown on a small plate - no presentation at all. The Tostones were dry, no flavor hard and cold. The waitress seemed very inexperienced especially during the wine service. I am sorry but this was perhaps the worst restaurant I have visited in Florida. No attention to details. Sorry to say, but the nicest thing during our visit was a nice young man behind the bar thanking us for our patronage. read more

So glad I came here for dinner. We got complimentary empanadas because it was totally our first time being in the area and in the restaurant! I had a steak (top sirloin) sandwich for dinner. It was a decent price $10 and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. There were so many yummy sounding things on the menu that I really wanted everything. My boyfriend had something with steak, ham, and egg on top, which was pretty amazing as well. They have beer, and a big selection of wine. I had a south American beer called Polar which was pretty decent. The server was friendly, and attentive. He thanked us for visiting and welcomed us to come back again. read more

Very relaxed place to have some wine or coffee and food. This is an Argentinian place so their focus is going to be meat which is what they are know for. The entraña with fries is a classic Latin / Euro dish and they do it right here. The portion is always too much so if youre a big eater for sure try this. The sides are pretty boring and nothing too special but the french fries are on point. The offer a grille at your table which if you are 2+ and hungry is an amazing deal and lets you try a multitude of options for meat. I normally stick to skirt steak, chorizo appetizer, or grilled chicken. It can get packed in the evenings and has a nice bar you can relax at while you wait. read more

I Ordered delivery for an evening meeting. Within an hour of placing the order I received a text saying "your order has been cancelled", no explanation, but my credit card showed transaction complete. I immediately called the restaurant and after much time on hold was told by Maria that they were out of what I ordered (the ropa veja) and my credit card would be promptly refunded. I was frustrated and annoyed that no explanation was given in the initial cancellation text and it required me to call to determine why my order was cancelled. She was sympathetic but again replied I would get an immediate refund. If it had ended there I would have just been annoyed, But it's been over 3 weeks with multiple phone calls to the restaurant with promises that a full refund was in the works. However, to this date all that has been refunded to me is the $15 for taxes and delivery fees! ( for something that I neither enjoyed or had delivered) I have never eaten at Renzo's so this is the only experience I have had with Renzo's and certainly not one I would recommend. By the way. Today they sent me a text asking me to review my experience!!! Really??? So here it is, since Renzo's thinks charging me for a meal THEY cancelled and didn't deliver, should be reviewed I'd like to tell you, I DON'T Recommend them! After weeks without a refund and multiple calls to them, I have turned the issue over to my bank. Whether their food is good or not, I'll never know. But I do know that the service or correction for a failed service, is far from good! So there you go Renzo's, you asked for my review and now you've got it. Big NO for Renzo's from me! read more

My brother took me here when I had visited Tampa. This is an interesting establishment. They have a wine shop in the back and the tables are filled with a diverse crowd. Young couples, families and meat heads. The mixed grill platter is great not just for taste but also for value. Get the mashed potatoes as a side. You will not be disappointed. We traveled to the area on bussiness. We were so glad we took a chance on Renzo's. The atmosphere was not very spectacular but it was extremely clean. The menu selection was decent. The Sangria was out of this world. They have a private room for parties that is very nice. The meat was seasoned perfectly. We had a sampler of Short ribs, NY strip steak, flank steak ( my favorite), pork chop and chicken breast. My husband who salts everything did not lift the shaker. They had many servers there and let me tell you they catered to our every need without being asked. The desserts looked amazing we had crem brulee, choclate mouse pie and flan. The choclate mouse was delicious just the right amount of sweetness. I would make a day trip to Tampa just to go back to Renzo's. read more

The food was amazing! The service was though, absolutely horrible. Waitress sat us down & left without a single word. She came back a few minutes later, brought water, didn't say anything, and left again. We had no opportunity to order drinks. Our friends joined us a few minutes later and after about 10 minutes of them sitting down, we had to go up to the bar to ask for our waitress to come by so they could also order drinks. Our table was one of the few occupied, and all servers were behind the bar talking the entire time as the restaurant was not busy. Our waitress hardly came to our table all evening and we had to ask someone at the bar if we could order dessert. My family's worst meal ever! We were truly disgusted by the food we received by this restaurant. We ordered the croquetas, which were soggy, extremely oily and the taste was terrible. We also ordered the braised short ribs which were dry and seemed as they had been reheated for the tenth time and a week old. Most braised meats taste better the next day, but this was just inedible. I'm truly in disbelief of how awful the food was and I want to think it's because it was takeout. The linguine bolognese should be removed from the menu. The pasta seemed as it had been boiled for an hour then canned meat sauce thrown on top. The tostones...rubber!!!! Shame on the person who put those tostones in the to-go plate.
