Amazing food. Everything tasted like it was made from scratch. We went with a party of 4 and everyone ordered something different. All of our meals were amazing!! Cute little restaurant. We sat outside and it was a little warm, but the fans were going, and it was tolerable. The food was so over-the-top delicious and it really didn't matter where we sat, the vibe on the patio was super cute. The owners and management should be ashamed. I will never return. I have not been to RB's in quite a while. The pancakes are still great. However, the rest of the food was average. The sausage in particular was not good. There were lots of chopped onions in the sausage, along with a strange taste. The biggest reason I will never return to Ria's is the inclusion of a 20% "gratuity" for my 2 top table. Why the quotes around gratuity? Here's Webster's definition: "something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service". Keyword being *voluntary*. The presumptuousness to even do something like this boggles the mind. Any place that quite literally takes money from my pocket in the form of forced gratuity will not get my business. Ever. I wish I knew about this because there are a ton of better brunch options I would have gone to. It's a sh*t practice. As a footnote- the service was fine, friendly and fast. I went with the Country Fried Tempeh because where else am I going to ever find country fried tempeh?? It was a very good dish, crispy tempeh with a nice gravy over a decent biscuit. My daughter went with Ria's version of Huevos Rancheros. Served over blue corn tortilla chips and black beans, the eggs were done well. We opted to split a short stack of pancakes with grilled pineapple and while not out of this world, they weren't bad. Service was fast and very friendly. There are two things that keep Ria's Bluebird from being "as good as it gets." First, no alcohol. Being honest, brunch without alcohol is just a late breakfast. Second, the prices. Breakfast for two was $40 including tip. I'm sure I'm not the only one whose heart has stopped when being given the bill. This place is a small breakfast/brunch spot. The customer service is great, no sitting area so if you are waiting on your party you will have to wait outside. They do have an inside and outside eating area. The food is okay. The sausage is very good and a must have, the pancakes are okay. One of the best restaurants in Atlanta. The best for breakfast hands down. We bring all of our out of town friends here and come here ALOT. Our go to dishes are the Buttermilk Pancakes (we usually share a short stack - p.s. the warm syrup is a game changer) and the Early Bird Special! The Buttermilk Biscuit is also great! I met one of my fav foodies here for brunch on a Saturday and there was a slight wait. Parking is kinda limited but I managed. We were told our wait would be 30-40mins but it turned out to be maybe 15mins not bad at all. We were seated in an area that was outside but closed in and the sunshine felt nice. The natural light make for great pics as well. Our waiter was awesome explained their specials and took our drink order. I decided on the blueberry pancakes, fresh avocado, fresh fruit, and coffee was my choice of beverage. My friend ordered the bonic breakfast bowl which in fact is vegan. Ria's Bluebird have a nice variety of vegan choices. Noise level was average kinda reminds me of a cafe. Overall great experience I will definitely be returning. I'm finally getting around to reviewing this spot! I have been here several times and I love it every time :) The food here is great, the service is great, and the prices are on the lower side for what you'd expect to pay for a nice brunch! The pancakes are some of the best pancakes in Atlanta. I would recommend ordering them with pecans if you aren't allergic. The short stack is filling but if you are really hungry then go for the tall stack. I've also had the Shrimp & Grits which was amazing. No matter what you order here though, you are not going to be disappointed. The coffee and tea is also very fresh. Be aware that this spot is popular so unless you are headed there during off hours be prepared to wait a fair amount of time before being seated. Ria's Bluebird was a very pleasant experience. We were told we'd have about a 20 minute wait due to requesting a high chair. We got seated, and the high chair never came. But luckily the toddler with us didn't absolutely require one. I got the tofu scramble which was really, really tasty. Like someone else had mentioned, it's not really a "scramble" more like chunks of tofu. But I didn't mind this AT ALL. It was really flavorful and I enjoyed every bite. Would absolutely order this again, but if I come back, really want to try some of the other stuff on the menu. My bf got a pancake stack, eggs, and bacon. The pancakes were really good. Some of the best I've had from a restaurant. The syrup was a little thin, which was interesting, but also flavorful. I expected the syrup to be thick like you'd find in any grocery store, but no. I do wonder why the consistency wasn't like you'd normally find, but I don't question it because it was still packed with a lot of goodness. Yummy, cute, quaint, has been around for a long time! Parking is a bit of a challenge and it's not a huge space so often there is a wait - but there is a reason for that. The food is consistent and good. I took one star away because they automatically add 20% tip to the bill BUT don't make it obvious that is the case. I always tip 20% so on more than one occasion I've been on autopilot and double tipped which is annoying. I don't mind them adding the tip at all, but they need to make it much more obvious and make it stand out more on the check. I've been to places where they do this and put bold print or even a little card attached to the check mentioning the policy so you can't miss it. This restaurant should consider something like that. read more

I am utterly disappointed and underwhelmed by this place. After raving reviews and recommendation, we decided to pay Ria's Bluebird a visit. Driving by a crowded parking lot out front and the people that were here on a Thursday late morning, we thought we made the right choice. Walking in, we were asked if we wanted inside or outside seating. As it was a nice day and outside seating was limited wait, we opted for outdoor. We were brought around the restaurant into a cute enclosed space outside. But that is where everything went downhill. Our waitress was unfriendly and rushed us to order. She was almost upset when we asked her for suggestions and walked away from us when we told her we weren't ready yet. Two of us got the bluebi burrito and one got the avocado sub + pickled zucchini (per her recommendation). One of our breakfast burrito came out with the wrong side and while my friend started to push the sour cream off (she asked for no sour cream), the waitress whipped back around and took it from her before she even have time to react. She gave her another burrito with the correct side but was really rude. The breakfast burrito and homemade sausage was flavorful. The avocado sandwich was flavorless and the pickled zucchini were gross. Our waters were never refilled and they were dry to the bottom and it took forever to get our checks. We finally got tired of waiting and went inside to pay. Overall, food was decent but the service made me give this place a 2 star. We will not return. Thank you! read more

My friends and I came here for brunch. Parking was very scarce so we were glad we Uber'd here but were disappointed by the long wait. The wait was at least an hour and there was only one waiting room outside with limited seating (there were a few benches). We were able to order coffee and had it with us while we waited outside. The inside looks small but they have indoor and outdoor seating. I went with the Brisket Breakfast. The brisket was tender and the portion was a decent amount but I felt that they could have been a little bit more generous with it. The tomato broth was greasy with zero spice and the baguette that came with the dish was a little stale. The poached eggs came out perfect. I tried my friend's Shrimp & Grits. It was good but we both felt it could have had a little bit more flavor to it. I liked how the grits were on the thicker side and soupy at the same time without having the grits being too thin and runny. I like some texture to my grits. read more

Food is fabulous. Coffee was not good, which is a bummer for a breakfast place. Everyone ordered brewed coffee and it was watery/stale. I order a cappuccino which was basically a very milky latte. The wait was about 45 minutes even though they told us 30, but the food made up for it. We will be back, but would love to see their coffee improve and maybe a barista trained! I believe the overall consensus of the group is that the food was pretty good and that the banana pancakes are magical, so no complaints there. I will say that a few members in our group were upset about the wait time -- we ended up waiting a fair amount longer than we were initially told we would need to wait for the size of our party, so the h-anger set in. I've never heard this from any of the people who recommended it, so maybe this was just some sort of fluke. This has been at the top of my list of brunch places to try, based on reviews and local friends' recommendations, and after treating myself to a birthday brunch here, I can see why. There was a 35 min wait, even on a Thursday morning, but since I was in no rush I decided to stick it out. Their menu has several intriguing vegetarian/vegan options, and even the seemingly simple fare is made brilliant by how flavorful it is. I ordered the cheese quesadilla from the lunch menu. These are stuffed with black beans and avocado, and served with a side of sour cream, verde salsa, and lettuce/tomato. I was truly impressed by how flavorful the beans were!! Black beans can be tough to season, as they're relatively bland on their own, but each bite of these was bursting with spice and flavor. Yum. The salsa perfectly complements the bean/cheese/avocado filling as well. I also ordered a buttermilk biscuit, which came with a side of butter and jam, and it was also yummy! I'd say the second-best biscuits I've had so far in the South (TBD on that as I try more local spots). What's fun about this place is the colorful, funky decor and patio arrangement gives me serious Austin vibes, so in a way, it felt like a piece of home in Atlanta. The service was also excellent. My go-to brunch place in Atlanta! FOOD: Get the Brisket Breakfast -- you will not regret it! The flavors are so great in that sauce, it's tomato based and has a little bit of spiciness, plus two poached eggs and very tender brisket. YUMMM! I order it every time I come here. When I came here with my friend, she got the Pancakes and gave me a few bites. There were SO FLUFFY, I almost couldn't believe it. I love that they have peach preserves on the table -- went nicely with pancakes. AMBIANCE: Casual and simple, but really cute. They have a really nice back patio spot for warmer days, which is a little dark in terms of lighting, but otherwise quite nice. SERVICE: Always good! No complaints, even when they are super busy. I have a friend who works here and he is a really nice person in real life too. Therefore, I assume people who work here are also nice... not sure that's perfect application of the transitive property but whatever. TIPS: There will be a long line during prime brunch time and there's only waiting room outside (they have a few benches). Get there early or prepare to wait about an hour -- you have been warned. I visited Ria's on a Sunday and was seated relatively quickly. The menu was small but had some choices that looked really good. We ordered the caramelized banana pancakes and the early bird special. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. However, the early bird special was very disappointing. I ordered the eggs over medium and they came out barely over easy, the white was very runny. We were going to order new food, not even ask for our order to be replaced, but we were unable to as our server did not return to our table until we asked for the check. I have high criteria for five stars. I have been here many times to evaluate critically everything they do and they have done it and continue to do it time and time again. I am now obsessed... mainly with the pancake (I know this is basic but I'm telling you the pancake is the bomb.com). I highly recommend getting a meal then ordering at least a short stack of pancakes. You have to. The skillet potatoes are unique, flavorful and come out perfect every time. The biscuit is on the cakier side but delicious. And the omelet of the day is on point. They just do a really good job. Even their coffee drinks are great. Oh and the sausage they make in house and it is so delicious. The vibes are fantastic. They play good music that isn't too loud you can't talk and it is homey and cozy in there. So obsessed. I've been eating here since Ria opened the restaurant so I've had most of the breakfast menu multiple times. I'm currently on a tofu scramble kick because that vegan pesto has me in a chokehold. Service was disappointing. We were handed a check without asking for it and basically left pressure to vacate the table even though two out of four people were still actively eating. When I pointed out to our server that we had accidentally been charged twice for something, I was simply met with an "oh, ok". The food was ok, ingredients looked good (lots of fresh seasonal veggies) but a little underwhelming in terms of flavor. I've heard great things about this spot, so I was so excited to try it out! We came in on Saturday right at 9am when they opened because I've heard that they get very busy. There were already about 5-6 parties there ahead of us! It took a few minutes for them to seat us as they opened up. We were seated on the back covered patio. Luckily it was a nice day and not too hot or cold. They didn't seem to have a lot of indoor seating. Our waitress greeted us quickly and took our drink order. I got a vanilla latte. For food, we got the caramelized banana pancakes (the short stack) and the breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, bacon and grits. It took a while for it to come out. But oh those pancakes were so worth it! I now get the hype and the hype is real. These pancakes were decadent! I'm glad we split them because there were very rich!
