The rice roll rice was paper thin and the meat inside was very good, a mix of beef, pork, bbq pork, and egg. It's very light and easy to pull apart to eat, good with soy sauce. The T5 Signature Shrimp and Roe Wonton in Chili Oil was not too spicy, it's a light spicy oil base around the wonton that you can dip your wonton in. Despite how red the chili oil looks, it's not as daunting. The wontons were a nice size, not too small and a good portion, wrapped nicely and very juicy inside, the shrimp pieces are noticeable. We arrived around 1:30 PM on a Saturday, and it was packed. If you want to avoid the crowd, I'd recommend coming a bit later--around 2:00 to 2:30 PM felt noticeably calmer. Our party of three shared the Rice Roll Express Special, Pork Rice Roll, and Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. That was plenty to split, and everything was delicious. The rice noodles are made fresh to order--soft, silky, and delicate. The beef brisket was tender, and the broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles soaked it up perfectly. Next time, I'd skip the Rice Roll Express Special--the egg didn't add much for me, and the protein was already flavorful enough on its own. Recently made my way here while shopping around Chinatown and I decided to drop in. I ordered the #1 Rice Roll Express Special filled with beef, pork, BBQ pork, and egg. The silky, translucent texture of their Chaoshan style rice rolls makes this much thinner and softer compared to the typical rice rolls that I'm used to which I found to be pleasantly delightful to eat. The service was quick and next to the counter is a sauce station full of condiments, including house-made sweet soy sauce, chili oil, and spicy jalapeño soy sauce. Heard from some of the regulars that this spot gets very busy during peak meal times so while there are tables and counter seating available, I'd say its best to view this more like a grab and go type of establishment unless you come during off hours. read more

I love how they incorporated vegetables in their rice noodles cause usually in other restaurants it's just a single protein inside (generally shrimp). Their congee is decent albeit a little bland. I tried the fresh shrimp noodle roll, something simple because I wanted to see their noodle quality. The sign implies that they stone grind the rice flour for the rolls but I don't know for sure. The taste was great though, and the thinness is something that isn't seen in typical dim sum places. The rice rolls are incredibly thin and practically fall apart on your chopsticks, but that's not a weakness when it comes to these because the texture is amazing. The sauces that sit on the side in bottles let you add and customize to your heart's liking, so I used peanut butter sauce, soy sauce, and chili crisp oil, and it made for the perfect meal (or snack, considering they're not too filling). My friend and I dropped by for lunch an a Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 pm and it was packed with locals grabbing lunch. They offer an assortment of both rice noodle rolls and noodle soups (think wonton soup, beef brisket noodle soup, etc.). I was starving, so I got both the #2 shrimp feast (rice noodle roll with shrimp, dried shrimp, and eggs) for $8.98 as well as the wonton noodle soup for ($9.67). Interestingly, it's the same price for the wonton noodle soup with and without noodles. My wonton noodle soup came out first. It was a decent sized bowl with 5 wontons and a ton of noodles. The rice noodle rolls were ready soon afterwards. There's no sauce at the tables, so when you pick up the rolls, make sure you add whatever sauces you want then. They've got plenty of options - from the standard soy sauce to peanut butter to sriracha, etc. I really like this self serve method, so you can control the quantity of the sauces. The rice noodle roll itself was AMAZING. The skin was silky thin and smooth, and they don't skimp on the ingredients at all. I am already thinking about my next visit here!! My friend agreed that his vegetarian roll was fantastic as well. I only wish I lived closer so I can come more often.
