We ordered a brisket sandwich but then decided to eat it there on one of the empty tables. -1 Star The brisket lacked flavor, but it was made up with the BBQ sauce. The BBQ sauce that they have sitting on the tables was some of the best bbq I've ever had - not too hot, not too weak, and somewhat sweet. The fries that came with the sandwich were decent, nothing special about them except for the fact that they gave us a big portion to share with our friends. The ambiance is cool. Save your money. This place is not good. Wait staff make excuses about why the food isn't good. They don't cook their ribs but have them brought in every morning. Not sure what that means. Our ribs had no meat and what was on there was burnt. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because they tried making it right but the food was just not up to standard for downtown FW. Our okra was the best thing but subpar. If the potato salad is made from scratch they need a new recipe but I am thinking it is not fresh. No flavor or seasoning on the green beans. Then she took it upon herself to bring me a plate of food I did not order/want AND charged me $12.99 for it along with a beverage I did not have for an additional $4 when I only had water. I didn't notice till I left and looked at the receipt. I've also tried to call several times in an attempt to have my card refunded (paid for everyone else's meals) but the phone is constantly busy. Our server, Lettuce was legit the best guy. He recommended a great platter for us to share and was spot on with the meat options. We weren't terribly impressed with the sides but in Texas I hear it's all about the grill anyway. Lettuce made the experience unique and we would return based on the brisket and service alone. Whoever your pit master is needs to be fired. Ribs tasted fresh out the microwave. It was the first time I've ever had to cut my brisket with a fork and knife, and beans were watered down and poorly seasoned. Your saving grace as to why you got 2 stars was your staff was friendly and attentive, the brisket bites were good (probably cause they were deep fried) and your fries were good as well. Super disappointed in this Risckys.. husband and I had been to the one in the stockyards before COVID and had a really great time! Brisket was super juicy, the beef ribs were phenomenal!! Service was impeccable -- 5 stars all around. We didn't want to drive tonight so opted to walk to the downtown location. Started off well, Gary was polite and took our order. When our food came, we asked for a small plate from the person who dropped our food that never came. Perhaps it was because it was 9 and towards the end of the night.. but our food was outrageously dry. All the BBQ sauce in the world couldn't make up for the fact that it made the meet hard to swallow. TO TOP IT OFF! in the middle of eating we saw a GIANT cockroach crawl underneath our table. We were in Sundance square trying to figure out what to eat and thankfully my Yelp community came to the rescue! The waiter was friendly and helpful as we were trying to figure out what we wanted. We finally made our decisions and shortly after our food was delivered. Everything was delicious and we all agreed that everything had good flavor. We were eyeballing the table next to us who ordered one of every dessert and although everything looked great we were full and didn't have any room for another bite. We thought we would give Riscky's another try, we were there about 5 months ago. They haven't gotten any better. It started with the hostess, she was rude, no smile, she barely had eye contact. My partner got all you can eat ribs which were okay but he had to ask where his fries were and he had to ask for more ribs each time. The waitress could have asked if he wanted more and said I'll bring you more. I got Riscky's Famous chopped beef brisket sandwich. Famous LOL famous for what? The bun was almost mushy, it could have been toasted or warm but it was neither. The meat had no flavor and was more like blended then chopped. The service was okay but slow. Best place to come for all you can eat. My husband loves their ribs! It's not the best ribs I've had but for the quantity and price you can't beat that. Ribs are well seasoned and are very tender. The last time we came I had their maverick burger was also pretty good. I love the atmosphere - especially during the holidays!
