Travel Eats- DFW. Went to DFW for AC/DC concert and decided to eat at Riscky's in the Ft Worth Stockyards. My friend wanted their all-you-can-eat beef ribs. Started with two frosty "tall" draft beers. My friend ordered the ribs he wanted with fries on the side. It came with 4 giant beef ribs to start with and then he requested two more orders over the next 30 minutes- for each one they brought him 2 more good sized ribs. I ordered the "Big Boy" sandwich which comes with sliced brisket, pulled pork, and sliced sausage on Texas Toast. Basically it is all three of their sandwiches combined into one and it was DELICIOUS!!!! The bites of meat complemented each other every well. The proportion of each of the meats in each given bite, made for a very unique flavor and texture profile, almost each time. On the table they provided a sweet bbq sauce and a spicy bbq sauce (both greatly complimented the meat). I alternated a douse of each on every bite I took. This sandwich was incredibly good! Diamond teeth could not bite and chew through these $20 all-you-can-eat ribs. While I understand that a restaurant serving an "all-you-can-eat" dish has to sacrifice some quality in order to justify the sale, this is just ridiculous. These were the driest and toughest ribs that I have ever tasted. The parts that I could take bites out of were bland, dry, and just an unpleasant mouth experience. They tasted as if they had been microwaved 30 times before reaching my table. This meal ended began at around 6:48pm and ended at around 7:30pm. It's impossible to visit the stockyards without enjoying some good ole Texas BBQ! My mother and I were looking forward to it for months. Riscky's was right across from the rodeo, so we gave it a try. When we checked in, we were told it would be a 45 minute wait but only waited 5-7 minutes. This was great! No appetizers ordered because we wanted to save room for all the yummy entree pieces. My mother ordered the all you can eat fried catfish and it was the best thing of the night! I'm usually not one for fried fish, but this was phenomenal. For my meal I chose the 2 meat smoked combo platter. My meats were pulled pork and turkey. The turkey was just ok and the pulled pork was good, but my mother can smoke 2x or more better and we know nothing about Texas BBQ...! The green beans tasted like they were from a can, coleslaw and potato salad were ok. "Toasted bread" was not toasted at all. I would probably order something different but still give my meal a 3/5. Riscky's BBQ is located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards, serving good BBQ at an affordable price with great views of the historical sights of the Stockards! We came through right after the 1130 cattle herd that is conducted daily to enjoy some BBQ and rest our feet from walking all morning touring the site. They offer indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of benches and heaters outside for the cold winter months. The indoor seating seemed a bit too dark with minimal natural light but was designed and decorated nicely. We went ahead and took our seats and placed our drink orders and appetizers from the waitress. We started the day off with a draft Shiner on tap and went ahead and got the onion strings and fried pickles. After browsing through the menus and noticing the all you can eat beef ribs and lunch specials they have during the week, we went ahead and ordered 1 beef rib all you can eat, a 3 meat platter with brisket, beef ribs and pork ribs. We also got the fried catfish and smoked sausage plate since the waitress basically demanded us to get another entree, saying that the food we ordered wouldn't be enough for our group. We also ordered a chicken salad for the table as well. The food came out quickly fast and was looking great. The appetizers were both fantastic, and the ranch complimented the dish very well. The AYCE beef ribs came out with coleslaw and were looking delightful. They came 4 on a plate and were huge! The ribs were quite tasty, but in my opinion, they were a bit dry and not moist. The BBq sauce they have was nice with a bit of a twist and added tremendous flavor to it. The catfish was not as fresh and overcooked in my opinion as well and seemed to be sitting under the hot lamp waiting to be served since they have an AYCE Catfish option as well. The brisket tasted great and was nice and juicy, but the pork ribs were on the dry side as well appearing to be sitting under the hotlamp for a long period of time as well. Overall, it was a good BBQ spot to enjoy good food with friends and family while touring the stockyards . The prices were fair and decent, especially for the AYCE special that can't be beat, but then again, it's more of a quantity over quality when coming here as well as a touristy spot for out of town guest. After a family outing at the Stockyard & we all were in not cowboy gear; We all went here for dinner. No strollers allowed inside but ample parking up front. Keith was our food & drink assigned server. He hooked us all up got a couple side dishes but a gracious attentive server! A round of brisket balls & drinks, we moved on. He took our orders & tended to our very needs. The restrooms were cleaned & maintained well. Visited Fort Worth Stockyard and had to try some BBQ while we were there. The sign out front boasted their famous wings and I have to say, it was some of the best wings Ive ever had. Truly enjoyed these buffalo wings. However, we also ordered the unlimited beef ribs (only 16.99). One of rhe ribs was very juicy but the others were tough to eat. Still, the bbq sauce wad great. Was a 5 minute wait and we'll worth it as I am picky with my bbq. The brisket bites were absolutely incredible. Not dry or overpriced. They were light and full of juicy, amazing brisket. I could eat those all day and my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Had a great time dining here. Been a couple times, the food is great, decent on pricing. The service was a little slow but it was also pretty busy. In the Forth Worth Stockyards district, there are two restaurants with the Riscky name attached. One is a steak restaurant and the other is a bbq restaurant. I had dinner at the latter last week. It's a large table service restaurant with indoor and covered outdoor seating available. I ordered the two meat platter for $20 with three sides and chose 1/2 chicken and smoked catfish for the meats and red beans, cole slaw and potato salad which is mustard based. The meal arrived less than 15 minutes later. The chicken was decent sized and good tasting. I liked the smoked catfish even more as I could taste the smoke flavor in it. The meal also came with some honey dijon mustard to add to the fish and it was tasty good! I liked all 3 sides with the cole slaw and potato salad being served cold like they should be. I think my fave of the three was the cole slaw as it was a good palate cleanser. Also their bbq sauce was slightly sweet and I enjoyed it on the chicken and red beans. Table service during the meal was good. Riscky's BBQ is what I call a B level barbecue restaurant. All of my food was respectable in taste and represented very good value considering it was alot of food that only cost $20. Yelp currently gives a 3 score but I think it's a little better than that. I really consider this more of a 3.5 score eatery so I will round up to a 4 for Yelp purposes. If in the area and wanting bbq, I would return. read more

My wife, son and I had dinner here. I had the beef ribs. They were juicy and tender. Not fall off the bone but tender. I did not care for the Bbq sauce but the ribs had good flavor on their own. I also had the side salad which was good. By so. Had the ribeye steak medium with fries . He said it was cooked correctly and tasted good. My wife had a brisket. She thought it was good. The meat was tender and had good flavor . The restaurant was nicely decorated for being a Texas restaurant. We were happy with the prices and the food. That they referred to as beef rib!
