I read several reviews before we came here, and honestly I'm just stymied by some of the things that I saw. So with that in mind... We had a great experience here! We got here pretty early, I think it was about 4pm or so on a Friday afternoon. There were only two other parties sitting at the time, so we got a nice booth. Our server was prompt, attentive, informative, and polite. I ordered the limeade and my girlfriend ordered something fancy which was sort of minty and tasty. Both drinks were excellent (and there was a slice of lime on the limeade, if that's some weird dealbreaker for you) and the limeade came with free refills, so I tried the guayaba limeade as well, which was equally delicious! We checked out the salad bar, loaded up, then sat down to start eating. Everything was really nice- the heart of palm seemed actually fresh- I've never had it except for out of briney jar, so that was a really pleasant treat. And they had quail eggs, yo! QUAIL EGGS! So then the meat started coming, and once it started IT DID NOT STOP. Between the bacon-wrapped sirloin, the spicy chicken, the ham, and the pounds and pounds of other meats I eventually found myself staring glassy-eyed at my plate in carnivore heaven. I felt like an ass because I didn't finish my salad, but I honestly had no idea that so much meat would be piled on my place so fast. The bill was reasonable, the service was great, the food was excellent, and I have nothing but nice things to say about this experience. We'll definitely be back, after like a week of cardio. Getting here early might be the key- it seems like most of the people who complain about getting stuffed in the oubliette might have gotten here at a later time on a particularly busy night with no reservation. Which definitely sucks- I can see how that could make for a crappy experience, but you have to understand that a place like this tends to fill up QUICK and most people have reservations. Especially during snowbird season. Or whatever, I dunno, just come here and eat some meat. read more

My biggest complaint about Rodizio was regarding their reservation taking/keeping. We made a reservation well in advance, arrive at the restaurant, and proceed to wait about an hour.... That's not cool and they didn't offer anything to make up for it. Other than that, Rodizio was quite nice. The meats were mostly good and the salad bar was extensive. Was it as good as fogo de chao? Presley was our waitress and she was amazing. So nice, never let a drink get to low, always smiling. Accommodated my daughters birthday request for no flan and changed it to something else. She was amazing and made the night that much better for us. All of the gentlemen walking with the meats were also very nice. I went for my birthday and I left the restaurant feeling cheated, the buffet food looks and tastes like it had been sitting out all day, the meat was not very good tasting and most of it was over cooked, I ordered the 2 desserts, the cheesecake was very bland tasting and the chocolate cake had no frosting and was soggy and wet, my wife ordered a vodka soda and the vodka was horrific and the soda was flat with no carbonation. The bathrooms were disgusting and smelled like sewage, the staff were great and service was very good, I am thoughly upset and it was the worst experience I have had in years, especially on my birthday. read more

I recently visited Rodizio with some friends and has quite the comical experience, albeit not in a good way. The day prior, I made lunch reservations online. After checking in with the hostess, we were promptly seated. The restaurant got fairly busy so I'd suggest making a reservation on you go with a larger party. After getting the run down on our dining options, my party and I were turned loose to explore the salad bar. There are choices for everyone with a variety of fruits, vegetables and of course, meat. When I returned from the salad bar, we promptly started the full rodizio experience where steaming hot meat is brought fresh to your table. There is a good amount of variation in what is served and the serves make their rounds frequently so you aren't left hungry. If you're particularly fond of certain meats, they will bring fresh ones for your party. As I started to dig into my food from the salad bar, I was pretty shocked to find a 3 inch long piece of plastic wrap. I told the server who took my food away and said the plastic wrap is used to preserve the dishes. Well that's fine, but I don't want it to be eating it! I told him I was hesitant to go back to the salad bar and... crickets. No comment. While the remainder of the meal was delicious, 50% of the food either ended up being dropped on the table or on someone while being served which was pretty embarrassing. For the experience and the options available, this is a very good price and I'd recommend giving them a try. read more

What a great place for a churrasco a rodizio (rotisserie barbeque) experience. The restaurant is spacious and we were promptly seated. After our server explained the concept and the menu items, we were off to the salad bar which had an impressive array of dishes: different prepared salads as well as separate salad components and dressings, ceviche, regular crispy as well as candied bacon, feijoada (Brazilian rice and beans, the national dish of the country), olives, pickles and more. There are also a variety of sauces; don't forget to take a small bowl of chimichurri back to your table because it's the perfect accompaniment for the grilled meats. At the table, the servers brought the skewers of grilled meats - every one of them really good, my favorite being the picanha or grilled top sirloin. We were also provided little trays of side dishes which were a nice touch, especially the bananas fritas which provided a sweet palate cleanser in between the grilled meat entrees. I'm also glad they serve grilled pineapple, not only because it tastes good but also because pineapple contains bromelain, a powerful protein-digesting enzyme and hence really appropriate for a meal that included an abundance of meat items. In all, it was a very flavorful and satisfying feast, and priced right for the quality and quantity of the food we enjoyed. read more

I have been to other Brazilian steak houses so it natural to compare. The salad bar is good but you usually don't pay $44 for a salad bar you pay that price for the meat. At first the only meat that came to us was honey baked ham and sausage. Good but where is the beef? Finally we got to try to prime rib and beef tenderloin. It was ok. I would compare it to Outback. They say they have 12 different choices but we only saw 8. Someone thought they saw shrimp but that never came to our table. I would rather go to Fogo. read more

My husband's company recently hosted their company Christmas party here and It was amazing. Bar made delicious drinks &I'm pretty sure I was full from the buffet of sides, salads, pastas, fruits, before I even made rounds with the meat. Luckily they took their time to come around with the different meats so your tummy has some time to rest up for the dozens of different flavors. From crispy garlic pork, beef tri tip, sweet and spicy chicken, to some glazed ham and pineapple, everything was to die for. We received a free dinner when you get one at Rodizio, so we decided to go last night. Neither of us had gone to a Brazilian grill before and we didn't know what to expect. The meats were all hot Abe well prepared. The salad bar is extensive as well as the side dishes although I've never been a fan of the heated bulk side dishes and I must admit I didn't try any, but they did look very appealing. You have to pace yourself and we didn't. We each had a large salad prior to eating several different meat choices until we were way too full. Then, we couldn't pass up the Creme Brûlée almost too good! We will be back another day after fasting a few days! The only improvement would be the choices in music. Not that it was bad just too repetitive, find more and make the playlist longer so the patrons don't hear the same songs 5-6 times while dinning. Enjoy! read more

We originally saw this place driving by. My husband suggested we try it out for our upcoming anniversary. This building never seemed to have any luck, as restaurants that were previously housed here always went out of business. We decided to try it out. We made a reservation on the website, which was super easy. I don't think it was necessary, considering it was a Wednesday night, but we did it anyway. When we first arrived, for some reason, I wasn't too sure about this restaurant; however, we got seated fairly quickly and didn't wait long at all before our server, Aiden, came to explain how the restaurant worked. Aiden was amazing and we really could not have asked for better service. He really went above and beyond and was so friendly. We ordered our drinks and went over to the salad bar--wow. They had such a selection of salads and sides. For being a salad bar, I was pleasantly surprised how clean and fresh it looked. We made two trips to the salad bar, and then we waited for the entrees. Again, we didn't wait too long. Service here is incredibly fast. The food was EXCELLENT. From the salad bar to the sides to the meat--and the grilled pineapple. Yes, the food gets five stars as well, but what really made the place enjoyable were the people that worked there. I've never had such great customer service from every single person in a restaurant and I was truly blown away. Everyone is so friendly there. We didn't end up getting dessert because we were so full, but we will for sure get it next time, because we will definitely be running back. read more

I decided to give them another chance tonight. I really wanted this to be my go to place for entertaining clients and getting my beef fix, but it just won't do. After we were seated we waited, perhaps five minutes, to be greeted by our waitress who smelled of cigarettes. From the time we were seated, just before 5:30, it took about fifteen minutes to be offered our second meat option of any type. It took a full 31 minutes to see picanha get to our table. I purposefully never left my seat and timed it, because it was getting so crazy. When picanha did make it to our table the server cut a "cube" off the end of the cut. This was a first... and I asked him to cut it the traditional "C" shape sliced way, so I would be able to get a slice that included both the fat and the meat, and he said they were supposed to cut the charred parts off. If you understand picanha at all, you'll know why this could bring tears to a gaucho's eyes. Since picanha is basically THE reason I go to Brazilian steakhouses, this travishamockery sealed the deal on my last trip to this establishment. In keeping with the tradition of my previous trip, the salad bar was completely out of bread... on two trips separated by at least ten minutes. See photos. On a weird and "first time that's happened" note, a member of the staff came by randomly and jerked away the chair I was using as an armrest and shoved it under the table, because she "didn't want anyone to trip on it." ...I'm not sure what would have happened if someone had been sitting in it. If that chair was a tripping hazard why did they put it there for someone to sit in? On the way out I visited the men's room. Slung over the stall door were parts of a server's gaucho uniform. I get it, employees need to go too... but perhaps a hook inside the stall would enable employees to "go" and not remind all their customers about the guys serving their food doing their business. Also... both automated soap dispensers had blinking red lights and did not work... and the paper towel dispenser at the sink also did not work. Sure, not the end of the world, but it just speaks to the level of pride in their establishment and how they care about serving their customers. On a positive note, they seem to have fixed the water/dishwasher problem, seeing as how the water tasted great, and no longer soapy. read more

This was my first time dining at Rodizio Grill, but I had heard only great things. We did the full Rodizio which includes the full salad bar (that has more than just salad - Mac n' cheese, mashed potatoes, etc) and all the meats! I was impressed by he quality of the food at the salad bar and how well all the meat was cooked. The chicken was all very moist, the beef was not overcooked, and everything was incredibly flavorful. We didn't have much room for dessert, but the table of desserts looked too delicious to pass up, so we ordered the Bolo Brigadeiro! I came here recently with a small group during AZ Restaurant Week because I'd never experienced #allthemeats at a place like Rodizio and Fogo. Their website allows for online reservations PTL, so it was quite easy to get it set up. $33 per person during AZRW is quite a steal based on looking at their menu. Couple of my friends arrived earlier than myself and they were fine to sit them before my arrival. Our server was quite amazing, as were all of the guys coming around with #allthemeats. Can't even begin to rattle off a list of all what I ate. Enjoyed every bite until I couldn't eat anymore. The sides though and the salad were a-ok. Very disappointing! Don't come here unless you like your meat bleeding. Each time we ask for well done meat and have an issue when we visit. It's been awhile since we ate here so we thought to try again. It's got worse. An hour and a half to get some well done meat that we asked for first thing, and even then it still wasn't fully cooked. Long waits for water refills as well. I don't like to leave bad reviews but this was a joke. Finished our meal if you want to call it that. Learned our terrible service was because the kitchen manager Dallas is petty and has a grudge from over a year ago with our last visit because we didn't leave a tip. He also told us he never wanted us to come to the restaurant again and that when we walked in he knew we were not going to leave a tip. read more

Yesterday was Tuesday, my husband's birthday. We walked into Rodizio's as a party of 6, and you would've thought we had a party of 50! "No reservation, and you have a party of 6?!" The hostess exclaimed, "It'll be about a 45-minute wait...but maybe less, we'll see." So, we chose to wait. (Meanwhile dozens of tables are sitting open, but apparently staffing issues result in those areas going unused.) After our 45-minute window passing, and after watching multiple people finish eating & leave, I politely asked the hostess what the status of a table opening up for us was, and she said, "Oh, you guys are next in line. Our guys are cleaning your table off now, so it shouldn't be too much longer." .....Another 10 minutes goes by. My husband goes to ask what the status is. Basically gets the same answer, but with a "2-minute" time frame. ANOTHER 10 minutes goes by. I go talk to the hostess, seeking clarification on this "table of ours that's getting cleaned off", and she tells me "Actually, the table IS cleaned off, buuut the people are still sitting at the table, so we're just waiting for them to leave." I go sit down (it's now been OVER an hour of waiting) and I explain the situation to my family. After yet another 5 minutes of waiting, I go talk to the manager. I explain our situation, I inform him that it's my husband's birthday, and I express frustration about the hostesses leading us on about this table & not just telling us the truth so we could've chosen to go elsewhere instead of waiting forever...and his response was, "Well, I'm sorry but you really should've gotten a reservation. There's not much we can do until these people leave." I was shocked. Yes, we were walk-ins...but it was a Tuesday night!...and we were being treated like diseased peasants at the foot of a king's throne! Its probably been 15 years since we've been to Rodizio's, & we didn't realize it was [basically] a *reservations only...OR ELSE* restaurant! My husband & I then BOTH went up to the hostess booth, expressed our mounting frustration at not being told the truth about our table back at the 45-minute mark, so we could've just gone somewhere else...and magically, they were ready to seat us. We had high hopes at that point, that now we could eat & begin to change the trajectory of our night, but after 10 minutes of waiting for a waiter, we soon realized our problems were not over. We informed our waiter of our plight, hoping his awareness of our experience would help him help us end on a good note, but no. We gave said waiter our food & drink orders, then went on to [help ourselves] at the salad bar. (*Mentally noting at that point, that 'ok, so these "waiters" just bring us drinks, we do the rest'*.) After about 5 minutes, all 6 of us had returned to the table and started eating, and after 10 minutes, realized we had no drinks. In those 10 minutes of being back at our table with our food, we waited through FOUR separate 'happy birthday' songs, performed by ALLLL the wait staff, to FOUR different dinner parties, before I was able to chase down our waiter, and ask if we could please get our drinks. AND, after waiting another 5 minutes, I went & asked the supervisor why we hadn't received our drinks, and of course, just then our waiter brought [SOME of] our drinks out! Half of our party waited 15 MORE minutes before they received their "bottomless" limeades...with only 1 follow-up visit from our waiter after that, before we got our bill. And after listening to 'happy birthday' songs all night, my husband got nothing. The supervisor guy on duty last night, knew everything about our situation, yet never once came to check on us or offer any sort of assistance or compensation! No one in that entire establishment, from the hostesses, to our waiter, to the manager, showed any concern for us the whole night. It was such a disappointment because the food was good, but nothing else was. Unfortunately, this type of experience is a common occurrence for a lot of consumers these days, and is disturbingly consistent with the new lower standard that, anymore, the service industry seems to be operating at. read more

I have been going to Rodizio Grill for a long time. I went yesterday for brunch with a buddy of mine. Our waitress was Chontel. I'm not sure I spelled her name right. My apologies if I didn't. She was the best waitress I have ever had there. Always checked on us and made sure your drinks were always full. This place is racist - Asians beware. I came here with my parents and they stuck us in the corner at the worst table when there were plenty of better tables near the salad bar. They did this again to my brother and his wife when they came with they parents. When we mentioned it, they told us the good tables were reserved even though we also had reservations. They seat Asians at the worst spot so they are not seen in the restaurant. I hope that management changes their seating priorities and treats guests equally instead of hiding the Asians in the corner when there are plenty of better tables. Shame on you Rodizio! read more

The service was ok but having to wait for very long stretches to see a goucho to get served was quite frustrating. And the management seems to be lacking. read more

We recently did my son's 1st birthday party here with a party of 50. With such a large party, there was only one person serving beverages (many people bussing though). We allowed our guests to order whatever they wanted to drink, but with such minimal service, they were not able to accommodate adequately. When the meats came out, it was only one at a time, sometimes 2. But when they did, it only came from one direction, so by the time it went to the end, the people at the end were left with slim to none. Being the host of the party and trying to make sure everyone was ok, it didn't allow us to enjoy the party from that aspect. Communication with Emily was slow. It typically took days for a response. But she does work the floor, so not faulting her for this. Just make sure to wait a few days, if emailing them or call the restaurant for a faster response. First time here with a party of 4. I have eaten at Brazilian steakhouses and this meets up to the others as for service, meats, and salad bar selections. And even better yet, the price is less. The other couple had not gone before and totally enjoyed it all including the experience of carving at tableside. Nick, our server, was super. They also have monthy special events so look for that as well. I read that in August they are having a 2 for 59.00, Mon thru Thur which is an amazing deal. Too bad I have to give this place a bad review. We used to come here all the time for special occasions but I would say the service and the food quality has dropped. Our family went here for a birthday brunch with 10 people. We made reservations and prepared ahead of time and told everyone that the brunch price was 29.99 which was posted on their website and on their posters outside. The service took very long and often times we had to track our waitress down. When it was time to pay, we saw the bill and we were charged 42.99 each for brunch! I acquired about it and the waitress said that today (8/27) was the first day for price changed. I told her there is no where in the store and no one told us of the price changed. Even the website still says 29.99. She replied she didn't set the rules and that's what the manager says. Then I asked so the price changed to 42.99 for brunch? She said no it changed to 32.99. I told her the bill was a mistake. She didn't even apologized for charging us all dinner price. But the price did go up to 32.99. At this point, I was already waiting over 20 min to pay so I didn't want to fight with the manager Because everyone was already annoyed with the service. I think it is wrong to change the price without telling anyone and it is not like there is menu. They should tell people of the change before when they book the reservations and honor what the website and sign outside says. I felt scammed and very unprofessional. If you do decide to go here, I would definitely check my bill before paying anything. Overall it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Your gauchos were some of the worst I have seen! Sloppy, wasteful, and did not seem like they wanted to be there. It was the first Brazilian steak house I have ever been to where the didn't and would bring anything to a table except drinks and meat. Not even plates. 6. When asked to speak to a manager service stopped all together, except for Gaucho Dallas. 7. Lastly most at the table thought it was over priced for what we actually received! Now we are getting ready to call it quits and a Manager by the name of Thomas came by and asked how it went? I expressed our issues and he apologized and said it is not generally like this! And asked if we would allow him to help us see how it was supposed to be like. Mind you this is well towards the end of the evening and we had been there an hour already. Being reasonable people we said sure. For the additional 20 minutes of Green that we had decided to try with Thomas our experience changed. The meat that was being delivered was outstanding the service from Thomas and Dallas was outstanding, like I would expect from a Brazilian steak house. Not that the negatives weren't still there. Happy Birthday Dinner Spot! Warning! You need to be hungry when you come to this place! Special recognition to Sirina our excellent server and Chad the super friendly meat man for going above and beyond the call of duty! Actually everything and everyone was great. The salad bar is rather exceptional, it is filled with actually great tasting items. Just be careful not to eat too many or you won't be able to eat any meat! Excellently cooked meats, a great rotating selection brought to you at your table sliced out onto your plate for your enjoyment. The non-alcoholic limeade drinks were really good! Especially the coconut mango strawberry cream one, it was outstanding. I really like the banana appetizers. They are wonderfully flavored and absolutely delicious! The water is fresh cold and wet. The service was friendly and professional. Our water never ran low, and the food always was overflowing from our plate. All in all this is a nice restaurant for a date or even a business meeting.
