First time here, and I was very impressed with the professional service, especially during COVID times. We started with 1 1/4 lb lobster && shrimp cocktail which were both extremely fresh and delicious , I love homemade sauces especially cocktail. The people in the Morristown location are much nicer and accommodating than the Summit location. I feel the Summit location caters to their regulars more. One time I made a reservation for me and my son by accident at the Morristown location but showed up in Summit thinking I had made the reservation there. They were nasty and told me I had to go to Morristown! They couldn't make it work for 2 people (c'mon) I still enjoy the food here just not the attitudes. read more

Decided to visit tonight and was just myself,, immediately then"welcome" staff would not allocate a single person a table and was forced to the bar where I met the combative bar staff.. I ordered the special shrimp and they arrived and were placed in front of me with no silverware to eat... the shrimp scampi were delicious, well cooked and presented, excellent. I ordered the Fillet 12oz asked for it Medium Plus and was ask you want that well done... for a Steak Restaurant personal not knowing the term Medium Plus I was shocked... I eat at the best of the best always... The steak did arrive cooked well and was rested... quality was great and the pricing was exceptionally good,, I normally pay $90+ for a steak like this. The only comment I would make is the mashed potatoes/ whipped potatoes were a little wet and sloppy... but that was ok The desert was the roots warm butter cake with ice cream and compot... I had to ask for it but IFFFFFF the staff were professional and looking out for their employer they would have recommended an excellent finish to my dinner... alas DONT come here for the service come here for the food... its excellent and well priced,, Note to management: pay more for better attentive staff that make people welcome and compliment your great food read more

Came here after doing some apple picking and to celebrate milestones. We weren't planning to go but steak sounded like a great idea and we were glad we came Service was superb! Food overall was good bordering on great. Steaks could be better done, al a Lugers, but not a deal breaker. We enjoyed our time there and would probably come back again because of the service. Left 35% tip. Recommended! read more

My three sisters and I went to dinner last night to honor my mom RoseMarie and all she did for us. Lucia took our reservation asking if was a special occaision and if there was anything they could do to help us celebrate. I told her why, she immediately offered condolences then suggested roses for the table. That experience began our most excellent Journey at Roots. I walked in through the back entrance passing the kitchen on the way to the main floor. Hearing the passion, and seeing teamwork of the staff and chefs to the service staff was exhilirating. I stopped and smiled giving them a thumbs up! When we seated, the staff could not be more courteous and wanting to help us enjoy our time together. Jared, our waiter, was genuinely interested in making sure all of our dining needs were met. The main dining room was filled with energy though not too loud for us to have a converstation. Our steaks, fish, sides and appetizers were perfectly prepared and served timely. We never felt like we should leave regardless of how busy it was because Jared and several others including managers were so kind and seemed genuinely interested for us to have the best time! And, it is sooooo easy to get to especially on a Saturday night in downtown Morristown. A parking garage behind the restaurant provides quick access if you don't want to, or cannot find a spot on the street. It could not have been a better experience, thank you Roots or Motown!!! read more

Absolutely awesome experience. Starting from parking ease to menu to customer service. The starter croissant bread is unique and just amazing. Steaks are cooked to perfection. And great selection of desserts to end. The reason I gave four stars is that the light is too low and you almost have to use your phones light to see the menu or the way to the bathrooms. Definitely will come back. Prices are high! read more

I came here off of recommendations from co-workers. They spoke very highly of the place, claiming it was the best steak they ever had. So a group of us decided to check it out for ourselves. There is limited metered parking here that can be tricky to get during peak times. The street parking, however, is free after 8PM. The restaurant has converted the sidewalk out front into a patio dining area. It is best to plan ahead and make a reservation. I had a party of 6 and we made a reservation and was seated right way. Many people were turned away though because they did not have a reservation. We had to wait a long time to place our order, to get our food, and even to get our bill correct and pay. All-in-all we where there over 3 hours. The sides are made for 2. I ordered the Cowboy steak and bacon brusell sprouts. They were ok, not even considering the price. The brussel sprouts were a bit dry and the steak was not as favorable as you would get from other comparable restaurants. Our server was nice and did her best, but that did not change the fact that we were there for so long. The other 5 people in my party, including one of the guys that originally recommended the place, were very irritated when they left and was still talking about our experience the next day. They were unhappy about the amount of money that spent compared to what they got. As I mentioned, this place was ok. Nothing special and defienetly not worth the price. Our party of 6 came out to almost $100 per head. read more

Motown Review The waiter was great and was tipped graciously as a result.....and the drinks were good. One of the appetizers my group had was very good, the sliders while the other appetizers were pedestrian ..........and that is where the good news ends. I have eaten in every notable steak restaurant in and out of the country so I know what I am comparing it to. The rest of the food was mediocre, at best. At those prices to receive mediocre food is insulting. Although I understand that is typical these days it does not mean I have to accept it. When leaving none of the three women standing, by themselves with no customers nearby or any apparent distractions/work to do, never had the common courtesy/customer service/common sense, to say "thanks for coming" "thanks for dropping hundreds of dollars and come again" "hope you enjoyed your meal and look forward to seeing you again"....totally ignored our party. Generational abyss? Whatever excuse you want to use is irrelevant. I'm not looking for a parade but instead a simple THANK YOU. That was not to be had. I have been invited there once and took family and friends there twice and was never thrilled with the food. As of now, they will never see me or my credit card again. read more

We had patronized Roots for many years and always had a good dining experience. Unfortunately, that has changed over the last few times we dined there with the most recent being the last time we will go there. Service was poor and unprofessional, food orders were not managed properly and quality versus value no longer present. Attempted to contact Harvest Restaurant Group as they advertise a phone number for "important customer feedback" but there is no option to speak with someone live. Completed a detailed form on their website, but never received a response. A lot of good fine steakhouse choices out there, but apparently Roots is no longer one of them. read more

I am very torn with my review! I want to give this place a 4, but I do not have the heart to do so! So think of this place as a 4.5* spot. Is it great, yes! Is it the best? No... My family and I have been here 2x so far and all I can really say is WOW! As soon as you walk in, it is like you are stepping into a real old school steakhouse with dark wood everything. Huge murals on the walls, and a fantastic bar! Staff is very very friendly! And the place is absolutely spotless. They even have someone come clean up the crumbs after every course!! The food here is great! Have I had better steak, yes. How is it compared to 98% of the other places that sever steak? Worlds better hahaha! We probably tried about 1/4 of the menu so far. You need to start every steak meal with a piece of slab bacon! They do a good job with it. It could be crispier, but it does have nice flavor. The French onion soup is killer, and so is their lobster bisque! I highly recommend them! We also have had the calamari, and they are very very good!!! The Shrimp or Lobster cocktails are excellent! So is their Seafood Tower! They are all very fresh, and the sauce has a great kick! Onto the entrée! We usually get the Filet's, Cowboy/Ribeye and the T-Bone/Porterhouse. Personally, the Ribeye has the best flavor, but even the dry aged one doesn't stack up to others that I have had previously. The T-Bone, same, it has nice flavor, but it just doesn't hold a candle to institutions like Peter Lugers. I've never been a filet guy, but the people in my group that get them really enjoy them! Every time that we have come, services has been excellent and it has always been cooked exactly to our liking. Sadly we never have room for dessert.... All in all, if you are close by and want a great steak, this place is for you! read more

We have been going to Roots in Summit since they opened. Always impeccable service and food. However, they have not been up to their standards lately. The past 2 times we went we were seated over 1 hour over our reservation time. Food is still perfect, but overall service has slipped. read more

The food was actually great in my opinion, but the service was terrible. Our server gave us attitude when we asked a question about the menu, the seafood tower came without any sauces and it took us asking five separate people before anyone cared enough to bring them to us. I was ignored multiple times when I asked for refills on my water or for more drinks. My steak was cooked perfectly but some of the people at my table asked for rare and received well done. I hope this was just an off night for them because I asked for the manager twice and they never came to speak to us. When we left we were told that the manager was "stuck in the kitchen" and couldn't come out to meet us. read more

Roots Steakhouse started at the old Roots mens store in Morristown and then became part of the Harvest Group of restaurants. What was true when it was an independent steakhouse is still true today, great steaks with terrific service and cocktails. Add nice apps and desserts with a wonderful setting and you have an enjoyable evening. read more

Reservation at 8. Sat at 8:20 Got dinner at 9:45 Asked for an extra wine glass - took 30 minutes The steaks here are $50-120. The service needs to be on point. Are they capturing cows out there? An hour and 45 minutes to get food? No thanks. If the food is taking long, then tell your guests it's taking long. Barely any attention. Taste was fine but take your money somewhere else read more

Was staying at a near by hotel and this place was recommend by a friend. Park in the parking garage! Short walk to the place. Inside it's elegant, we were seated promptly and was provided these giant bread (wish I took a pic). It was ok, inside it seems like it wasn't all the way done but the rest of the ones on the table was fine. I started with the tuna tartar, it was delicious. I had the petite filet for my entree and it was cooked perfectly, sides we shared a baked potato, asparagus and creamed spinach, all was great. The highlight of the meal was the pound cake! The bread was great. There's a subtle cheese filling that made the complimentary bread a great starter to the meal (9/10). The Crispy Wagyu Dumplings are a miss in my opinion. Don't let the Wagyu convince you to get it. It honestly just tasted like an average dumpling. Grounded Waygu tends to be one of the more wasteful ways to cook waygu (5/10). The 20 oz Prime Cowboy Steak was a solid steak. I had felt that it did rely a lot of the Blue Cheese Crust (which was an add-on) and the areas with the crust were not as seasoned (7/10). Overall, its a nice and classic restaurant in Morristown with solid service and great ambiance. Was even willing to put together an affogato for dessert as it was not on the menu. Great place with a great wine selection. Typical steakhouse atmosphere and I like the fact that they use real candles on the tables. The tuna tar tar is super fresh, definitely a must order. The potato au gratin comes and goes on the menu but I wish it was there the last time I went. The lobster mac and cheese is super cheesy and creamy, also highly recommend. The steak is fine. It was cooked to our liking but the char on the outside is a little too strong and hits you with a bitter taste. I've been here multiple times and it happens every time. Lobster "pie" is not a pie at all. Disappointing The steak was great though Been here many times and they may have lost a customer if it were based on this experience alone. I'm not sure what is going on at Roots. What a shame because used to really enjoy it there. Went for a work dinner and ordered a steak medium and some sides. Our meals were taking forever. My steak arrived rare with two shrimp - the meal was cold. One of the other guests - same thing, The mashed potatoes were cold. The rest of the sides were Luke warm. We both sent our steaks back to be cooked more - when they came back they were still undercooked. The only part that looked cooked was where I had cut into it originally. Service was a little slow and based upon the cold food, my guess is it was sitting back there for a while. If a steak house can't cook a steak, I would say there is a problem. This was a go to spot for me for work dinners. Hope they get their act together. read more

Just came back from my first visit to Roots in Morristown. My wife and I both ordered their prime ribeye steak. After waiting for over an hour for our main course to be served, our steaks arrived and were very overcooked. We asked for medium rare and what we got was closer to well done. Very disappointing for a place that get premium dollars for high end steak. I wont be going back. read more

Went early one evening for a business dinner. The hostess was very nice. The service was OK. The server didn't seem to be too happy. The overall service with all of the help was very accommodating. The pop overs were so delicious I had to have two. My friend ordered the steak which he said was Mid. The sides were delicious. The scallop potatoes were the best I've ever had the brussels sprouts were so tasty. I ordered the crabcake which was OK. Probably needed some more sauce. The wedge salad salad was a good size. The overall cost of the dinner seemed extremely expensive overall, I would just go back for the scallop potatoes. read more

Met a client at a table in the bar area for a work dinner. The restaurant is well laid out and inviting. We started with cocktails, I had a bullet rye old fashion which was made really well, I enjoyed it. For appetizers we ordered the shrimp cocktail, we asked for it with 4 shrimp, the shrimp were large and delicious, we also ordered the tuna Tartare which was perfect. For our entrees we ordered the NY Strip and the Prime cowboy. The steaks were really solid and good sized. As sides we ordered then onion rings, Au Gratin potatoes and grilled Asparagus everything was really good. For dessert we had butter cake and NY cheesecake, both very good! Overall, Roots in downtown Morristown is a very good steakhouse in the suburbs of NJ, i recommend checking it out! read more

Asked for potatoes to be sutstituted for brocollini, but the kitchen did not follow through with that ask, even though our waitress confirmed it was possible. $39 lamb souvlaki was a solid dish. Filling and hearty. Good quality meat skewer. Smoked eggplant puree had a very strong smoke flavor. Lemony potatoes had bright, refreshing lemomy flavor that we appreciated. Service is attentive and quick. Complementary toothbrushes in the bathroom were a nice touch--a star for this little amenity.

We have been here several times before and we are excited to celebrate this accomplishment. When we arrived, the restaurant did not seem to know we had a reservation. The restaurant was mostly empty, so there was no issue getting a table. Once we were sat, we were offered water but no other soft drinks. Bottles of wine were opened but there was nothing to keep the wine chilled. After being at the table for over 10 minutes, I needed to ask for menus. We needed to ask repeatedly for water and at one point, I went to the back of the restaurant to get the water for the table. It was hot in the restaurant and the music was loud. The music was changed erratically throughout the meal until near the end of the meal, when there was no music or ambience. So odd! The food received was delicious. There was an issue of my ordering the pork chop but being served a lamb chop. I know the difference! The staff insisted I was given a pork chop. I did not eat it. By that time, the other people at my table were done with their food. I went to speak with the server discreetly at the back of the restaurant in attempts to resolve my concerns. The server returned to the table several times to argue about what we spoke about and insist I take a dessert and drink wine. I did not have an entree due to the incorrect meal being served and the insistence that I was served the correct meal. I made it clear that this was a special event but there was no attention given to that, not even a 'congratulations' on her dessert plate. Ultimately, Chef Freddy's Table was generous with the amount they deducted from the check but that wasn't the point of our visit. The point was to have a positive experience to celebrate an accomplishment. I am so disappointed! Suggestion: Maybe not go there on a Sunday, call the restaurant versus booking online or just adjust your expectations if this is a special event.

I didn't realize at the time, but they add in an 18% gratuity, so tip extra at your own risk. On the second night, I ate at a table with two coworkers. I had the chicken paillard, which was a large portion and also very good. Service was strong at both the bar and table on consecutive nights. For the three breakfasts, I pretty much had the same thing every day...an omelette with a side of fruit. It also came with potatoes, but it would've been nice if it came with toast or something similar without needing to pay extra. Again, food was good. Service the first day was fine. The next two days, the older gentleman providing service couldn't have cared less. I (and others) would show up at 6:30, when they opened, but nobody would be there. We'd sit ourselves and then wait. Eventually he'd show up. It was difficult getting coffee too, as both days, my cup sat empty for a long time until I'd eventually flag him down. Everything was on his time. I would've given him little/no tip...if the 18% wasn't already added in. The rest of the restaurant...food and service...gets a 5. This guy gets a 1. I probably should've given this a 3, but it didn't seem fair to everything/everyone else.

It was a stunning appetizer, fragrant and clean and beautiful. Dandelion is definitely not an acquired taste. We loved it right off the bat. The greens sit in a rich and beautiful oil and garlic combination topped with crispy onions. The fattoush salad was splendid with just the right amount of sumac and mint. Another dish redolent and healthful and rich in flavor. The pita that's a hallmark of this particular salad was crispy and delicious. My spicy herb fish was a cod swimming in an absolutely delectable sauce consisting of tomato, cilantro, chili sauce, walnut and (definitely) red pepper. It was a revelation. Layers of flavor. My husband was presented with his Maqluba with a lot of fanfare, which was fitting given the quality of the dish. Maqluba, by the way, is a slow-cooked rice with chicken, eggplant and tomatoes. Paul (husband) reported it was excellent. I stole a sliver of his eggplant and relished every bite. Let me add that the aforementioned Khaled guided us along our dining trajectory with a winning combination of sweetness and skill. And a special mention must go to the restaurant's irrepressibly charming manager Charbel. This is a man utterly dedicated to your having a deeply rewarding dining experience. It's real for Charbel, this desire to make diners happy, and it's palpable. Again, a wonderful dinner in a restaurant that insists upon joy. Who can pass on that?

They also passed out bottles of cold water and even let parents with young kids order first. It's little gestures like these that really show they care about their customers and their community. Beyond the amazing food, the father and son owners were some of the kindest people I've met. They genuinely radiate positivity, treat everyone with respect, and create such a welcoming atmosphere. Horrible Lunch! If I could give the service and the Manager, Richard on a scale of 1-10, it would be -5. We booked a 2pm lunch resi today Sunday 8/01. The place was literally dead empty. Waiters were present standing around basically just setting up tables and re-arranging glasses due to the lack of customers. We drove an hour away just to give our support to this restaurant as we have dined here several times before and during the Covid pandemic that we are still going through we felt the need to support this establishment. This was a big mistake today I must say!!!!! We sat down. 10minutes later our waitress comes over and asks what we would like to drink. We ordered unsweetened iced tea's one of our guest had a cocktail and we also requested a bottle of Aqua Pana water. 10 minutes later the ice teas come out and cocktail but no Aqua Pana bottled water so we gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought she would be right back with a bottle of water however unfortunately she never returned back. She disappeared literally! I had to flag down another waiter that I saw who is standing around rearranging glasses he came over to the table and I asked him for a bottle of water which he ran within two minutes came back and brought to the table. Two of my guests had dirty glasses they noticed and they told the gentleman who brought the water. Five minutes later our waitress appeared!!! Wow!!! She's alive and present!! I thought to myself. She dropped off two queen glasses walked away and didn't even pour the water for my two guest. We put an appetizer orders 20 minutes later they came out the crabcake was full of breadcrumbs and there was barely any crab meat as they advertise it on the menu as colossal crabcake. Nothing but a joke because there was no crab meat that you could barely even taste. The salad was over drenched with dressing and you could barely taste the ingredients that were in the chop salad. OK we thought to ourselves maybe the entrées will taste better. Once again nobody came over to ask us if we needed anything or any refills and again the waitress went missing into thin air!!!! I had to get the hostess attention to flag him down but he was on the phone so a gentleman dressed in a black suit across the way saw me with my hands up in the air looking for somebody he comes over with another waiter and says can I help you with something and I said well our waitress disappeared and we would like to put our entrée order in and get the table cleared off and get some refills. He was the manager, Richard! No emotion no personality no apologetic attitude whatsoever an older gentleman said I'll take over and be a waiter and take your entrées. He took a order clear off the table brought refills and then 10 minutes later our waitress appeared again at our table!!! She said let me give you clean silverware we said please bring us all new utensils she returns back to the table with two steak knives and one fork mind you there are three of us at the table. We asked her to please bring enough for all of us she comes back brings the silverware and again she disappears into thin air. Mind you as all this is happening not one time has the manager Richard come over to check on us or ask us if everything is OK or if we needed anything. This is the management that is representing this restaurant!!!! Richard was not present as well. Disappeared. Our entrées came out and my mother ordered the filet mignon which was very good and the mashed potatoes I had the sliders they were Kobe beef a little greasy to be quite honest and my partner had the lamb chops which looked like burnt pieces of meat sawed off a cow's butt and thrown on a plate!!! The presentation was poor quality was to her and to be honest it tasted like leather!!! Again no manager comes over and asked us if everything's OK nor the waitress because again she has been missing now for 25 minutes!! I asked when we were finished with a entrées for the check and that the crabcake to be taken off the bill because I was being kind and generous by saying the entire bill should be comped due to the lack of service and quality of food but I chose to only ask for the crabcake to be taken off the bill again I am trying to support this establishment during the Covid pandemic but I am not getting any reciprocation back to me as a paying customer. At the end I asked to speak to the manager Richard who walked over and I explain to him all of the issues and the quality of food he looked at me stonefaced did not offer one item or one cup of coffee or even a dessert and said thank you very much I will look into this. Again this is what you have representing Roots!!! My advice is to save your money and go somewhere else!! This place is consistently poor, On Saturday my girlfriend and I decided to go to Roots since she had a gift card, we both went in with open minds as our previous 5/6 experiences were sub par at absolute best... We were seated at 7:07 pm, ( I no cause my iPhone let me no I parked my car at 7:01 and we were one block away). We were placed in the back of the restaurant facing the kitchen, which we could watch them prepare the steaks which was pretty cool....The restaurant was not packed at all and there were a lot of open tables. After about 18 minutes someone came by to take to our drink orders, we already were suspicious of how long that took, we figured maybe since we were tucked away in the back we fell out of mind with the waiter. We placed our complete order when he came back with our drinks, as we were anticipating it could take a while to get our food........Boy were we right with that thought............We were served 2 awful muffin looking pieces of undercooked bread. Granted these were free so I guess you can't really complain about them, but god these are brutal, and the butter is completely tasteless and unsalted and frozen into a small brick. We ordered appetizers- The Bacon, which was OK, way too much maple syrup and it tasted a bit over cooked, tasted like we were eating a piece of beef jerky dipped in cheap Aunt Jemimas maple syrup....We each ate about a bite and half each and looked at each other and said we were going to save this for the Dog..... Next up, the 2 Ceaser salads....What can I say about the 2 $11 Ceaser salads......Browned Romaine lettuce leaves, Extremely stale tasteless croutons, the dressing was extremely watered down cause I guess they just washed the lettuce, which I guess is one of the rare positives of this place...We tried our best to like it, but it was extremely tasteless...Nobody came by to offer us Fresh Pepper like all the previous other times we have been there, but I guess being tucked away in the back causes for out of sight out of mind... After leaving about 3/4 of our ceaser salad each and barely eating any of the bacon, We were starving as you could imagine....For the next hour things went completely ghost....We finished our bottle of sparkling water and wanted another bottle but could not get the attention of our waiter, so we asked someone else who helped us out with drinks while we patiently waited..... We ordered the Filet Mignon and the NY STRIP, Side of Asparagus, Loaded Baked Potato and Mashed Potato.... nothing crazy, nothing out of the ordinary, (They didn't ask how I would like my Filet, so I had to get his attention and let him after he took the order). Now after waiting ONE HOUR after our delectable (Sarcastic) salads, and almost 2 FULL HOURS since first being seated, we have had enough...(We thought we were victims of a Hidden Camera show or something). We finally grab the attention of our waiter and kindly let him know " Can we get our entrees to go please", He say's while giving a nasty look "Oh, to go.......OK let me see what I can do"....Now my GF is tearing up from being disrespected and being completely frustrated with this wait...After 7 minutes a Manager looking kid comes over and says "Oh, they were literally just ready to come out now, Do you want me to bring them out" , I respond with "No Thank You, We did not anticipate such a long wait to receive our food, can we just have them to go please", He says "OK" and walks away sulking and upset....Our waiter comes back after 9 minutes with the check and the food packaged to go and says " We didn't charge you for one the sides you ordered since it took so long", We said "Thank You" and paid with CASH since we didn't want to wait there any longer as it probably would have taken them another 15 minutes to run a Gift card, We tipped 25% on the original bill not the discounted bill... When we got home we thought the bag was really small to be able to fit all of our food we ordered...We had 2 steaks, Asparagus and A plain baked potato with no condiments on it, or on the side like mentioned on the menu ( only reason for ordering it was the "loaded" aspect) No mashed potatoes were included in the bag so they didn't gift us anything, they just gave us a $7.00 discount and we were missing an item... So all in all we waited OVER 2 hours to be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED....I could have purchased the same exact cuts of meat at Kings and grilled them myself, had them taste identical, not deal with rude employees and not wait OVER 2 HOURS to eat...Needless to say I will NEVER return to this place ever again...This place is so overrated it's sickening...J & K Steakhouse , Fiores, Shit even Godafther makes a better steak than this place..Do yourself a favor and save yourself the money and avoid this place if at all possible.... read more

During my recent visit to Roots Steakhouse, I had a mixed experience that fell short of my expectations. The service at Roots Steakhouse was excellent. The waitstaff was attentive, and my waiter promptly addressed the issue I encountered with the steak. Their quick response and willingness to rectify the situation demonstrated a commitment to customer satisfaction, which I appreciated. Additionally, the appetizers I sampled were delicious and showcased the culinary skills of the kitchen. The flavors were well-balanced, and the appetizers were presented beautifully. It was evident that the chefs put thought and effort into crafting these dishes. Unfortunately, the main issue arose with the steaks themselves. I ordered a ribeye cooked to medium rare, but the first steak that was brought to me was severely overcooked, burnt to a crisp. Upon notifying the waiter, he promptly replaced it with another steak. While the second steak was not burnt, it was cooked well done, deviating significantly from the medium-rare request. Although it was an improvement from the first steak, it was still disappointing, considering the reputation of the restaurant as a great steakhouse. I will never go to roots or huntly tavern or any other establishment ever, there's no loyalty to chip burnsski and Moors family they could care less all they care about is how much money they can make accommodations are a joke you never have any's places for anybody and all they care about is themselves I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, it's over priced and if you've been there so many times over and over they could care less how many times you've been there it does not matter all I care about is how much money they can make and the fact that they're always book and is never any seating committee call there it doesn't matter I do not recommend this to anyone, and the funny part is I started with them at three W. in Basking Ridge it doesn't even matter so I was done nothing but anything I can do to make them not successful I will try read more

My review may not be "helpful" to those who seek a steakhouse like Roots - as I've only been for lunch and ordered the seared tuna salad - but overall, I thought the restaurant was eh. First off, my colleague was looking forward to having the corn beef sandwich as they were out of it the week before - low and behold, they were out of it again. It took awhile to get our food and the biscuits they gave before were rather bland (but a nice change from typical dinner rolls/bread). The seared tuna was definitely prepared nicely but overall it was eh - nothing amazing. The ambiance was very fitting for Morristown - definitely not my style - but it is appropriate for the historical area. Not my kind of place, but if you may want to read the reviews of the meat-loving, traditional guy to get a better understanding - if that is what you're into. read more

I have dined at their Summit restaurant and found it to be more relaxing, the morristown location was too loud, there was a large party near our table making it hard to hear friends sitting next to me. For that reason I'm rating it a 3. Dining out is more than just good quality food for me. Overall the steaks were good, cooked perfectly. The salads are pricey, $15 is a bit too high.
