Stopped in after an appointment locally. Waited 15 minutes for a table, not an issue considering late breakfast early lunch. After that things went down hill. We had over an hour wait for food, continued remarks from our server about the kitchen being backed up, one meal was hot the other two were cold. Food was tasteless and the 20% discount didn't make the $70 (after discount) breakfast bill for three people worth it. Won't be returning. First look at the location, very chic, clean, relaxed vibe. Hostess was very friendly and attentive. Server was nice but not very knowledgeable on what they had to offer. We asked for coffee and a mimosa(ruby) to start with. Wife was happy with the mimosa, my coffee had great flavor but it was like warm. I drank the first cup right away hoping to tame my migraine but the second and third cup were nice and hot. Food was good. Ut if you're expecting a true New Orleans creole experience, this is not the place for you. I had the Spanish omelette expecting that nice bold flavor you would've gotten in NOLA, eventhough it was good it wasn't what you'd expect from a NOLA's inspired location. Would I try it again? This was my second time coming to a Ruby Sunshine (or Ruby Slipper) and the food was just as good as I expected. I got the Chicken St. Charles and for the price I wish it would've come with a side of fruit or something, but it was still good. The service was a little slow considering we waited an hour and a half to be sat, and we only saw our waitress 10 minutes after sitting down, once to make sure we got our food, and one last time to pay. I would've liked for her to come by a few more times to fill waters or for us to get our checks earlier, but overall it was a nice experience. read more

The staff was lovely and friendly. The food was not impressive. It was barely palatable. I had Eggs Blackstone. The biscuits were as hard as gum balls around the edges.. so hard you really needed a steak knife or some sort of chisel to cut them onto bite size pieces. We ate there today for a late breakfast, the place was packed because of large group of Ironman participants were in town. We were told it was going to be a 30-40 minute wait and we were seated in less than 20 minutes at the outside bar area. Food and service were both excellent, I had the Migas & my wife had the Costa Rican, both were delicious. The hostess quickly sat us to a table outside. We ordered the kid's pancakes with bacon right away and those came out quickly. The kids were happy. The pancake with butter and syrup was very good. Will not be coming back. I was really excited to check out this new place, but fell extremely short. We waited over an hour for our food because our waitress told us "they are waiting on biscuits". However, we saw several other tables get their food with biscuits no problem. The food itself was bland and honestly not up to par with the Nashville brunch scene. Our waitress told us she would bring the manger which we didn't even ask for. I thought they were going to try to make things right for waiting so long. Carrying on the tradition from the New Orleans location (Ruby Slipper), the newly opened Ruby Sunshine continues to amaze. Large crunchy biscuits hold up the creamy sauce and pork merging into a wonderful, savory plate of goodness. This is our fourth excursion to dine at Ruby's across the South. Hubby loves the chicken biscuit. Unfortunately his favorite corn beef hash isn't available at this location. But he "manages" to make do with the couchon, my favorite. The bacon infused vodka bloody mary matches the N.O. location. Expecting over an hour wait like other locations, we were pleasantly surprised to get a patio table immediately. People just don't know what they are missing. Lily was our waitress and she did a fantastic job bringing out the bloody mary at the stroke of 8am per law!We'll be back in another year and will need to plan to wait in line! read more

I came here around 1:15pm on a Saturday afternoon so it was pretty busy. We had already added ourselves to the waitlist online so although there were a ton of people outside we only waited about 5/10 minutes for our table of 5. I ordered the Peacemaker with the Eggs Cochon and Chicken St. Charles. I'm really glad you can mix and match the eggs benedicts, because they all sounded so good. The service was a little slow, but that's to be expected during peak brunch hours and our waitress was really nice. Overall, the food was very good. The portion sizes were pretty good for the price. I like the Eggs Cochon better, but both were fantastic and the chicken on the Chicken St. Charles was perfect. My only complaint was that the eggs were more hard boiled than poached, but there was enough hollandaise so that even without a runny yoke it still wasn't dry. Also, I ordered a side of bacon and it was cooked perfectly and a great amount for only $3.50 extra. I had high expectations going into this place, but I would definitely say they met if not exceeded them! I would definitely go back! read more

We were a party of 4 from 2 generation with the younger half being in their 40s. This place is LOUD. We went on a Saturday morning and had called ahead which made for a very short wait. Unfortunately, there is no clear system for returning to the host stand once you're paged and since we didn't hover, several parties basically "jumped ahead" and we ended up with a table beside a large party of about a dozen ladies. This was not an issue for us, but the lubricated young man obnoxiously celebrating their beauty and taking selfies and shouting expletives was a bit much. Come on dude, I was with my mother. The environment did not lend itself to much visiting as we basically had to yell at each other and neither my mother nor my aunt could hear the server ask for their drink order. Neither of them has hearing issues. Well, at least not prior to this outing. And finally, the food. I think everyone was happy with their selections. I had the shrimp bennie which was strangely cold. I mean the flavors were good but it was so weird that everything seemed to have been made in advance and then poorly re-heated and assembled. My wife and I tried this restaurant per the recommendation of the front desk clerk at our Moxy hotel. This is quite possible the best breakfast spot I have ever had short of a $50 buffet. I ordered the Trifecta; it had one serving each of Eggs Cochon, Chicken St. Charles & Bayou Shrimp Benedicts. I don't care for normal eggs benedict but these were all very different and completely amazing. My wife ordered the Beignets and even though I was completely full from the Trio, I ate about half of her order - they were wonderful; I don't believe I've ever had beignets anywhere that good - New Orleans included. Ok. So the food was good. However, our server needs to make some major changes to the covid protocol. We split our tab and the server had a handheld credit card machine with a touch pad screen. Most restaurants we go to, they allow the customer to place the card in the machine to avoid the server touching the card and at most, the customer touches the touch screen to pay. This server handed the whole unit to me after she placed the card in the holder and then she handed the machine to my girlfriend to hold with the same process. I can only imagine this server had completed this same process all day so basically we were exposed to every single person's potential covid that the server helped the entire day. She is facilitating a 100% transmission rate. And the hostess and server had no clue about the menu items. The server actually brought us someone else's ticket. Not a good experience and not a safe place to eat if the server doesnt change her process asap. read more
