LOVED THIS PLACE! We initially were waiting for a different spot, looked over & saw this patio, and swapped! lol. We started with the mimosa flight and the Bloody Mary- both delish. Got the seasonal fruity pebbles beignets and they were over the top good. We also got the fruity French toast and the avocado toast. Both beautiful presented with a 10/10 flavor. Oops, and we shared the bread pudding pancake. Yum. Great service, great location. Would return and recommend.

We have been fans of Ruby Slipper since our first trip to New Orleans in 2017. We don't have Ruby Slipper this far north, in Nashville, but we do have Ruby Sunshine. Ruby Sunshine has a lot of Ruby Slipper's items. Lots of runny benny style eggs with various meats--shredded pork, fried chicken, shrimp. They also have a version with grilled tomatoes (though my tomatoes didn't seem grilled at all). Other options include French toast, omelets, migas, catfish, pancakes. I got the peacemaker, which is a fun option when you're torn between options. I got the cochon (apple braised pork) and Blackstone (smoked bacon and grilled tomato). Again, my tomato wasn't really grilled and could have used more seasoning. My pork was a little dry. But overall it was a good brunch dish. And my favorite part (always has been) is they do SUPER RUNNY eggs perfectly. I had a mimosa, which was fine. A note, they don't serve drinks with liquor before 8 AM (I work the night shift). The margarita I had after 8 AM was tart due to the grapefruit and hit the spot after a long day. It's a large spot, lots of tables and bar seats. Open with lots of windows and high ceilings. I was the first person at 7 AM, but more people came in during the two hours I was there. Wasn't crowded by the time I left at 9 AM though. Parking in back is your best bet. You can get one hour free with the code at the Ruby Sunshine host stand. Beyond that, two hours is just a little over six bucks. I suggest this over trying to find street parking, which is not easy. My server, Cody, was very attentive, but not smothering. He kept on top of my drinks and checked on my often, but not too often. Solid brunch spot in a trendy Vanderbilt university neighborhood.

My boyfriend and I went to Ruby Sunshine for brunch on a weekday early afternoon. When we got there we were very easily able to get a table and were soon greeted by the servers. I ordered their Smashburger. The burger itself was great. I love when burgers have a lot of veggies on them and the flavor was great. The burger comes with fries which were not my favorite since I thought they were too much on the crunchy side and felt more like potato sticks than French fries. Parking anywhere in Hillsboro village is more on the difficult side, but they have an attached parking lot right in the back. This gives you an hour of free parking and you have to pay for any parking in addition to an hour. If you do go I'd be sure to pay attention to the parking time since this area often can be pretty stringent with that.

I brought my mom and her boyfriend to Ruby Sunshine for brunch, since attending the yelp event i've been wanting to go back and try their food, it was a total hit. My mom ordered the Bananas Foster pancakes, and she could not stop talking about how good they were fluffy, perfectly cooked the bananas was not mushy not super sweet and topped with that warm, buttery sauce that makes you want to lick the plate clean. Everyone loved their dishes, my gf got the three little pig's omelet and everything came out fresh and flavorful. My momma bf got the biscuit and gravy with sausage links and fried chicken which was fire! The staff was friendly, attentive, she remembered me from the yelp event and remembered us take tater tots shots lol and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The vibe inside is fun and relaxed, perfect for a slow morning with family. If you're looking for a brunch spot that consistently delivers great food and great service, Ruby Sunshine definitely deserves a spot on your list! I can't wait to go back!

Transplanted to Nashville from New Orleans, Ruby Sunshine brings highlights some of the best breakfast flavors and drinks of NOLA. Typically crowded on the weekend, Monday is a great day to have brunch in Hillsboro Village. You have a chance to park. The parking lot behind the building has 1 hour free but make sure you register at the box or they will be sure to ticket. There is plenty of seating in Ruby Sunshine, and whether you sit at the bar or a table, there is a lot of whimsy in the decor. ie. ruby slipper with a fried egg, whisks for lamp shades. Fun. We were seated right away and given plenty of time to choose our meal and drinks. Friendly help from everyone. As it was my first time, I shared a trifecta of bennies to experience the most of the flavors. The St. Charles (chicken) was my favorite. The crunch was great and there was just the right amount of sauce. Yum. The beignets and and beverage were a part of a Yelp event but they are totally worth it. Delicious.

The bartenders rock! The decor is bright and cheerful. The menu has so many great options. Fried green tomatoes is a wonderful way to start. The salads and the Benedict's are yummy!! The egg white bowl is a great light alternative. Try the bloody Mary mix, so so good! The Chai tea was warm, creamy and had such a comforting flavor. The avocado toast is so well balanced and has a beautiful presentation.

I'm not gonna lie I didn't love the food or the drinks. It's a nice little place in a busy area, but it also isn't opened too late so just judging it for brunch vibes but I don't think I'll be coming back. The food was pretty bland and I had to send my food back because it was pink catfish which according to google is bad. They said it was just the seasoning but they took it off the bill and I just didn't eat other than my friends leftovers. servers were super nice though so I will give them that and the biscuits were definitely a crowd pleaser.

    The Trifecta AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

If your around and thinking about trying. Stop thinking and go!!!!! Very spacious cute spot with top notch food. I had the trifecta of eggs Benedict. It was an amazing variety of flavors and uniqueness that I haven't had anywhere before. The Carmel ice coffee was good. Pretty standard. The candied bacon wasn't great. Just bacon with brown sugar dumped on it. But still ok.

If you're in Nashville you'll appreciate the free 1 hour parking lot behind the building! The servers and hosts were super friendly and helpful. I got the omelet with a biscuit and the biscuit comes with a honey cinnamon butter that is delicious. The butter has a nice subtle flavor if you aren't into sweet butters. The coffee is also surprisingly good and I'd go back just to get a coffee! It is also pet friendly on their outdoor patio if you need to grab food while with your pet (they even have water bowls)! Overall it's a great casual place to go with friends or alone since they have bar top seating.

I enjoyed the small bites I had. The blood orange margarita was delicious. It was an event so the service was kinda show, but I assume it was just because it wasn't regular staffing.

Cute huh? Our table of 7 women ordered a variety of brunch sandwiches and biscuits. While everyone enjoyed their meals, I can only give specifics on what I ordered. I had the Mr. Croissant with home fries, and because I wanted to try the biscuits, I also added a biscuit with honey and butter to my order. The croissant and biscuit were great. Next time, I'd give a miss to the included home fries and opt for the fruit instead. My vanilla bean latte was very good and my friend loved her mocha. To celebrate the Birthday Girl, we ordered two bottles of champagne and two flights of juices to make mimosas. We all took homemade strawberry pop tarts to go. We loved the vibe, service, and food and will happily return the next time we are in Nashville!

For starters, the city's natural party scene requires two things: fatty food and hangover remedies. Biscuit love serves both in one package, from buttery dishes to gravies that sooth that hangover better than any detox juice ever could. The second thing that firmly embeds Biscuit Love into its location is the biscuit. Coming to the south and not trying this phenomenal delicacy should be borderline illegal. And, Biscuit Love, perhaps, just perhaps, makes the best biscuits to be had out there. That is a dangerous thing to admit, but their unique texture of borderline croissant-ish layering of dough makes these biscuits dangerously delicate. They aren't those classic crumbly dry ones one many southerners are used to, but rather a revolution into what a biscuit should be. Lastly, Nashville's love for fried chicken and hot chicken is the other reason to come here. Well brined, perfectly crispy chicken at Biscuit Love is spectacular in every way that it should be and will wipe off that hangover from the face of the earth in minutes.

I tried to swing by around ten minutes to noon, but it was a disaster. There were heaps of people waiting outside, and it didn't look promising. I went to the hostess stand and asked the guy if I could get a table for one, and he said, "Oh, you can sit at the bar; it's open seating. There's one open seat right there!" So, I walked through and was approached by another worker who asked me what I was doing. I told her the guy said I could sit at the bar, and there was an open seat, even though I never saw one. I did see open seats outside at the bar, though. The bar has two sides, one outside and one inside. It seemed alright; it wasn't too hot or humid, so I went. There were dirty dishes all over the place, and I sat down. Another worker asked me, "Are these dishes yours?" Which seemed a bit strange because the guy works the bar and wouldn't he have known the person sitting there before me left them? Anyway, I said no, and he cleared them. I then waited about 5 minutes before another worker skillfully wiped the bar of debris and then got three menus and three sets of silverware (two more guys sat down next to me) and asked me if I wanted water. I said, "Yes, please." She went off, and then shortly after, I saw the same guy come with a menu and a set of silverware and a water. Thumbs up for the water but thumb down for the slowness. I saw the menu and was torn between pancakes and biscuits. I didn't really want anything heavy, so I got the biscuits and gravy but added an egg. I also got a coffee. The wait time for the food was super quick, and the food was really good. The biscuits are small, and they're okay. The egg was good, but it's kinda hard to mess up an egg. I saw the food the people sitting next to me got, and it looked amazing! Pancakes, etc. Overall, the service was pretty bad, but the food was good. I saw no sense of urgency in the workers when they were obviously swamped. I might come when it's not so busy next time. Side note, maybe I'm showing my age, but the price of regular drip coffee was a bit steep. ($4).

Our server, Cody, truly made the experience unforgettable. Hands down, he is the best server I've ever had anywhere. He took the time to thoroughly walk us through the menu, explain the daily specials, answer all of our questions, and offer recommendations based on what we were looking for. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire dining experience. We ordered the pancakes, omelets, and of course, the famous biscuits. The biscuits absolutely deserve the hype! They were warm, buttery, fluffy, and practically melted in your mouth. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious, and the omelets were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. One thing I really appreciated is that while Loveless Cafe offers a supper menu in the evenings, breakfast is served all day. Maybe this location isn't as good as the original. I think Nashville could do better than this though.

The 4 of us came in for breakfast last Saturday morning, with a fairly reasonable 30 minute wait…read morefor our table. Their text system for handling that was efficient and we were all lucky to find a comfortable place to sit both inside and out. Our waitress (Amanda) was sharp in terms of communication, understanding our selections, friendliness, and the ability to move a lot of plates (with food or not) without losing balance. Our table near a front corner was also pleasant and comfortable. Gayle and Erin started off with a pitcher of Mimosas, while I went for OJ and Coffee, and Jim Coffee. Our selections involved 2 orders of Waffles, 1 set of Lemon/Blueberry Pancakes, and French Toast. Meat sides were evenly split between Andouille sausage (for a little extra spice) and bacon, while eggs were either poached, scrambled, or over easy. I especially appreciated that my "Poached Hard" request came back spot on. The Pancakes/Waffles/French Toast were all light, tasty and well served by the maple syrup. It was all delicious and perhaps too much food. We were all happy with our choices and appreciated our upcoming walks to work all this off.

Once inside the staff was so kind and helpful. Our waitress was the best! They did have Gluten Free options which was very nice and they were good. I ordered the Cold Brew and it was gross. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would give it a 5 on cleanliness. I guess they allow pets so we listened to this dog bark as the owner threw waffles on the floor for him to eat. I happened to not be a pet person so this was a struggle for me + I felt bad for the dog. All those dirty feet walking on that floor and that dog was eating off of it. Didn't feel right. They did mess up our bill and we ended up realizing after that we over paid. Overall I do not recommend and wouldn't go back. If our waitress wouldn't have been amazing this would have been a 1 star review.
