I often worry about being disappointed when going to a new restaurant that everyone's been talking about... luckily this wasn't the case here. What a beautiful restaurant: sunny, light, clique with a glass column of wine front and center. The seating is mellow and unassuming and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktails and wine selection here are also amazing, with interesting flavors and combinations and enough choices to pair with whatever meal you choose. The food options are all lovely. They are very bright and flavorful and fresh. My favorites are the chicken and the baby ribs. As for the pasta, they are all balanced and cooked to perfection especially the gnocchi. This was a top notch meal. I met up with my friend for a relaxed dinner and it was just that. We sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing( I think her name was Sarah). She knew the menu backwards and forward and gave some great recommendations. We ordered the olives, lentils, beets and turkey pasta. The lentils are amazing, I am not sure what they put in them but the flavor is great. Then the beat salad is light and fresh. The olives were the perfect accompaniment. A charming restaurant with great food and lovely decor. I've been here for dinner on two different occasions and enjoyed my experience each time. My first time here was on a Sunday evening. I hadn't realized how popular the restaurant was and had not made reservations. Fortunately, it was 5:30 when my two friends and I arrived so we were able to find a table. I ordered the duck for my entree that night. I was on some dietary restrictions at that time and wasn't sure about the sides that came with the duck. But the waiter communicated my concerns to the chef, who chose vegetable alternatives that would both complement the duck and meet my dietary restrictions. That's what you call service. My second visit was on a weeknight. The weather was beautiful that night, so we sat at the bar, which faced an open patio. The combination of the weather, our drinks, our friendly bartender, and the overall mood of the restaurant was so nice that I can't even remember what I ate! But I remember what my pasta-loving friend ate: a pasta dish! She seems to be obsessed with Sachet's pasta, so this is definitely a safe bet for pasta lovers. I will be returning soon to Sachet for my pasta-loving friend's birthday dinner, and I look forward to trying more of their entrees. Sachet was voted one of DFW's best new restaurants last year and I have whole heartedly agreed ever since I've started coming here. This review is based on my latest visit in June 2018. The table ordered some mezes (small plates) the crispy pork to share, and a couple pasta dishes. The mezes are very clean and crisp, but the star of the meal was the crispy pork shank. It melted off the bone and was served with a rich brothy grain. So good! I wish they had the squid ink pasta from my first visit here, but the pastas we had this time were sill tasty. The waiter was very attentive and helpful, he even got us a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a birthday. I love this place, a great meal to have for a night out. Nicely done, good level of sweetness, can help make a pleasant evening. I am a lightweight and it did make me buzzed, but I think it would be fine for most people. For an appetizer, I had the burrata. Very interesting, never had burrata done this way, The burrata was already broken instead of a smooth glob. It was mixed with what looks to be a type of tomato paste and comes with two pieces of bread to put it on. Taste? Exceptionally good. For my main I had the rainbow trout. Trout was nicely done. Comes with what looks to be a salad type accompaniment with what seems to be peanuts and also tomatoes. It had a very good sweetness to it which went well with the trout. LOVED this place. Came here last night with a girlfriend and at 7pm on a Wednesday, it was packed! I would definitely recommend having a reservation no matter when you come. I would also advise valet parking in front (it's complimentary) and dressing nicely. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and had plenty of room and did not mind the fact that we didn't snag a table. The bartender (forgot his name but very friendly with a mustache) gave us GREAT suggestions on both food and wine. The wine list was good and I liked the fact that you could do different sized pours. My friend and I shared 3 of the meze (fattoush/burrata, hummus and french lentils). All were super fresh, different and seasoned wonderfully. I highly recommend all three. Nothing to write home about but it was okay! The issue for the most part is that we felt we were being pushed out. I really wanted to like this place, but I was just underwhelmed. I got the short rib ravioli, which was incredibly salty. And when I ordered it, the server told me it would be an appetizer portion. I later found out that I had the option for an entree portion, which would have been useful information to have before ordering. Of course, after tasting how salty it was I was relieved that I hadn't ordered the entree portion. In general, the service was super weird. This is a good place to go if you want a fancier night out and are looking for food with artistic expression. The menu really is crafted by an artisan. Start with something as simple as the French lentils--as soon as they hit your tongue it's an epiphany, and you know someone very talented worked on this. Service is pretty great; we waited longer because the table we'd reserved was taking long to wrap up, but no worries, the owner offered free glasses of wine to ease the tension while we waited--and good wine! The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that there are occasional "misses", and at this price point that should never be the case. The menu changes around but when we went they had a carbonara. It was tasty enough but the sauce was thin, not creamy, because I think they added lemon juice? And the guanciale was cooked way to a crisp, basically burnt. Things like carbonara or cacio e pepe really don't belong on a pricy menu to begin with, unless real artistic liberty is being taken. This was one dish that I just felt didn't rise to that standard. We heard all of the hype about Sachet and had to check it out--we thought it was very good. We tried the three mezze, octopus and pita bread for lunch and liked them all. For the three mezze, we tried the red beet hummus, farro and okra. The red beet hummus was the favorite of the three, the farro (it included mushrooms!) and then the okra (though we still liked the okra). The pita bread was hot out of the oven and went great with the mezze--I wish the pita bread just came with the hummus instead of having to separately order it, they just went so great together. This attention to detail definitely is reinforced in the food an service, as everything was excellent on both evenings On my first visit, I had Orecchiette, consisting of turkey fennel sausage, rapini, and chile. The dish was light, flavorful, and well composed. For my entrée, I chose the Rainbow Trout, with roasted artichokes, chickpeas, chile and mint garnish. Simply put, one of the best fish dishes I have tasted. Tonight, I selected a Butter Lettuce Salad, with apple, shaved heirloom radish, and tarragon. Simple, but elegant in its taste and vertical presentation! For my entrée, I decided to compare another seafood option, selecting the Grilled Branzino, with swiss chard base and Marcona almonds in lemon vinaigrette. Both meals were amazing! Sachet has been getting rave reviews since it opened a couple years ago for its Mediterranean-inspired fare and globe-trotting wine selection. My parents and I had dinner here last week and we agreed that the experience overall was a 3.5/5 (rounded down given the sky-high expectations). From the plus side, the service was impeccable, the high notes among our dishes were extraordinary, and the atmosphere -- set amid tan wood, white brick, and tall glass windows -- was super cool and we felt undeservedly cool just being there. The major downsides for me were that I found some elements of certain plates unnecessary or redundant, a few of the entrees and virtually all of the wine (I understand import costs, but some of the $45-50 wines retail in the $7-15 range per google) was disproportionately expensive, and, on average, the dishes flirted with being over-salty. Here's the run-down: Do not skimp on the meze (vegetarian small dishes) as they are some of Sachet's finest offerings. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts were subtle, nutty, and well-seasoned with a nice crunch. The Yellow Beets tasted super fresh with a hint of sourness due to the creamy labne (a type of strained yogurt). The Picked Turnips were my favorite, spongy in texture with a savory and pungent flavor, though just short of being too salty. Wish we had gone with 5 instead of 3! We also ordered a side of Pita, which were beautifully crafted -- the doughy pouches were not hollow as we expected but instead came with a lovely soft crumb inside. It was, however, lukewarm by the time it got to us and while the hazelnut dukkah (Egyptian mix of spices, nuts, and herbs) was compelling, we found the table-side olive oil to be flat and flavorless. I was excited to try our first main entree, the Bucatini Pasta with octopus and guanciale, but it was extremely disappointing outside of the octopus. The pasta was under-cooked and literally snapped with pressure between our teeth, the guanciale didn't contribute much flavor, and the sauce lacked complexity and resembled run-of-the-mill, store-bought tomato-basil sauce. The skin-on Rainbow Trout, in contrast, was truly exceptional, seasoned and cooked to perfection with just the right amount of salt, herbs, and citrus. The artichoke chunks were welcome, but I did find the crunchy chickpeas to be kind of jarring; I would've preferred a puree instead. The Moroccan Lamb Chops were a lovely medium-rare and tasted strongly of cumin and coriander (in a good way), but the sensational bed of buttery heirloom beans and caramelized onion stole the show. Here as well, I found the matbucha (tomatoes and roasted bell peppers) to be an unnecessary addition as it didn't really mesh with the rest of the dish. This review is probably needlessly harsh, as we did enjoy the meal and some of the dishes, notably the Rainbow Trout, Lamb, and Pickled Turnips were A+, but we expected sheer perfection from D Magazine's no. 5 restaurant. This mediterranean restaurant is a little upscale, which is typical of places in this area. My friends and I tried the rainbow trout and the swordfish, and both were delicious! The swordfish came in a spicy ragu sauce that was excellent- hearty and definitely could taste the spice, but not overpowering. The fish itself was cooked well. However, the portions were noticeably smaller than the rainbow trout dish. The rainbow trout was also cooked and seasoned well, and the chickpeas added a nice texture. The three of us sat at the bar since the restaurant was a little busy when we went (Thursday night around 9 PM), and the bartender was attentive and helpful with recommendations and explaining the menu. However, we noticed that the restaurant was particularly noisy because the space is very open with walls that seemed to echo instead of absorbing sound. It was hard to hear each other and make conversation, so it's not an ideal place for a date if you're looking for a more quiet and intimate atmosphere. read more

Sachet is a fun tapas-style Mediterranean restaurant from the owners of Gemma. We visited a few weeks after they opened, and the food was tasty. The service needed a bit of improvement, and not all of the drinks were on point, but overall the experience was enjoyable. We had a group of 7, which was easily accommodated at their large round-top table (typically used for 6). We were seated right away, though the restaurant wasn't busy at all on a Sunday evening. It does appear to be quite the hotspot when I drive by on other nights. The menu is broken up into 3 sections, two of which are small plates/appetizer-sized, which wasn't obvious until they told us. For the meze, you can choose a combination of 3 for $14 or 5 for $21. If you choose a salad, traditional appetizer, or pasta, these come out in an appetizer size as well, unless you opt to upgrade the pasta to an entree. We tried the yellow beets, which were interesting, in addition to the spicy carrot tabbouleh, Lebanese okra, Persian cucumbers, and pickled turnips. They were all intriguing, although you should know that they are all quite small, such that sharing with six others meant you maybe got one bite of each. I enjoyed the Lebanese okra the best of the meze. I didn't get much flavor out of the tabbouleh, but it was liked by the others in our group. House-made ciabatta with olive oil was free and well done. However, the real winner is the pita (which you have to pay for), which is served with a delicious dukkah spice blend that was flavorful, unique, and enjoyed by everyone. We also liked the arancini, which were rich, savory fried balls of rice. The drinks were a mixed bag. Two people got gin and tonics, both with relatively nice gins (Ford's and Hendrick's), but they were both very watery despite their generous size. This probably comes from the house-made tonic (which isn't mentioned on the menu), and I could hardly appreciate the gin. Regardless, I would steer clear of these. The rest of the drinks we tried were all on point, including a spritzer and some kind of bourbon drink whose name escapes me now. There is a large wine menu as well. I wasn't completely sold on the service either. Our waitress was friendly and quick to explain that they prefer to take your entire order at once to allow them to pace the meal adequately. There were a few problems with this approach. First, we were waiting for a few late arrivals, but after the initial greeting, she didn't really come by again for a long time, meaning we couldn't place drink orders until I waved her down 10 minutes later. I wish she had taken drink orders first instead of leading with an explanation of their ordering style (which made it seem like we couldn't order drinks until we had decided on our meal). Once we ordered, the food came out in a timely fashion, but the timing was a little off. We got all of our appetizers at once except for one, and when I asked about it she said it would come out with the next round (the entrees) in order to have enough room on the table. Having to keep track of what did and didn't make it out was an unnecessary mental burden and made it hard to notice if there was a kitchen mistake. Delaying one appetizer and serving all of the rest didn't feel like a paced meal, it just felt disjointed. Given the small size of the plates we could have easily found room on the table for one more, or alternatively, they could have presented two rounds of appetizers before moving onto the main course. The entrees were overall nicely made. Another couple with us tried the crispy pork shank, which was presented well but a little gamey for my taste. My Iberico Secreto was delicious and about as close to a well-cooked steak as I've had pork prepared. The pimento sauce was flavorful and took it to another level, and the potatoes added a nice texture. My wife tried the mushroom pasta, which was rich (but not too rich) and had a nice, complex flavor profile. Overall, I enjoyed the food at Sachet, though there is some room for improvement. It certainly isn't craveable, and for that reason I'm not sure I would go back. Outstanding experience at this restaurant. Pleasant and laid back environment great for conversations. All of the items our party had was of high quality. So many flavors yet refreshing and light. The servers were attentive and took the time to explain the menu and give helpful suggestions. We ordered mostly from the "meze" menu which is a selection of small plates. I particularly enjoyed the red beet hummus and the spicy roasted eggplant. However, it seems you can't go wrong with anything here. Their pastas are also excellent and I liked the octopus/chorizo spaghetti. Finally, their fried donut dessert is a must have as well. It was not apparent to me but I was told after the fact that there is additional self-parking in the back of the strip complex. This place has only been open for three weeks and without reservations, I was greeted with a smile and Allison did not turn us away. That's awesome enough for a new restaurant in DFW. We were seated almost immediately and great service began. The Towers of Bologna cocktail was simply good. We went straight to the entrees and ordered the Branzino and Whole Dorande. Both were flavorful and filling. We had the Squid ink spaghetti which was absolutely delightful as a side. Don't worry, it's a small side but complimented both entrees. One of my friends saw a Sachet add somewhere and invited me to come with her and a group. I love Mediterranean food so decided to give it a try. We had no reservation but the gentleman said we could have one of their tables till a certain time so we took it. Mauricio was our server. He was very nice! He explained how the menu worked and was very patient answering all our questions. To start, he recommended the arancinis so we started with that! It was so so so good! After that I had the pork ravioli. It also tasted very good but I thought the portion could be a bit bigger for the price. Mauricio did mention it was a small portion but it could be a liiittle bit bigger. It came with fried kale. Tasty!!! Then we decided to go for dessert. I had the almond cake which was delicious. Went here on a date last month. Parking can be a bit tight but the entire experience once inside the restaurant was great. The place didn't blow me away per se, but the food was exquisite and the staff was very nice and professional. The lamb chops were probably the second best I've ever had, and my girlfriend let me try a little bit of her crispy chicken and it was cooked perfectly. The ambience was nice for the first date I've been on in a while, and my girlfriend was just happy that we got out of the house so no complaints there. Only thing is that I don't know if there's anything too special about this restaurant to set it apart from any of the other nice date spots in the city. Come hungry, and come with a group, as you tour a food and wine menu that stretches across a wide belt of the Mediterranean. The meze are solely vegetables, and are a great way to start the meal. They're $6 a portion, but will go cheaper for a bundled price. I chose eggplant, pistachios, yellow beets, escalivada, spicy carrots, and brussel sprouts. All of them were fantastic, but the yellow beets were my personal favorite of the group. The tangy labhne kept me coming back for more. The pistachios and marcona almonds are simple, but hit the spot with the right amount of saltiness. The brussel sprouts are solid, although I would have liked to see more char on the edges. The eggplant was a great texture, although it's a little jumbled with the tomatoes and olive oil. Its good, but its not as composed as I like. The escalivada was good, but nothing about really stood out to me. Charred veggies are always a good choice, but nothing here seems too exciting about it. The spicy carrots were my least favorite meze, mostly for the gritty, crunchy texture of raw carrots, when I was hoping for a grilled carrot. The pita here is absolutely fantastic. What looks like a dry hockey puck, is actually a firm, yet fluffy soft piece of warm bread. Although I was expecting hummus to go with this, the salt and seasoning is a nice approach. The quail lollipops are executed with finess and craft. The pomegranate glaze is what truly excited me about this dish. Sweet, yet spicy. The fennel was a nice touch for an herby spice to go to top of the already spicy harissa. The carrots underneath seemed more like garnish, as they were shaved for a beautiful presentation, but nothing memorable to eat as they were mostly dressed in olive oil. The quail itself was juicy, moist, and had a nice chicken thigh gaminess. My biggest gripe is how costly it is for four quail pops. I know its not cheap to use quail, but I feel it could have used a bed of pearl couscous, or pita to feel substantial. It's a delicious small bite, but choose wisely if your wallet is tight. The "grilled" octopus shouldn't have been called grilled. Grilled octopus should have a crispy, charred outside with plenty of grill flavor. This was sous vide, surrounded in a soupy salmoriglio, a huge bed of beans and chards, with barely any grilled texture. Moving past the "grilled" aspect, this dish isnt that bad. The salmoriglio soaked in the octopus juice, and tied everything together. This dish wont change anyone's mind on octopus if you didn't like it to begin with, but it wasn't a bad dish. The lobster spaghetti was simple in its approach, but highly satisfying. The lobster was well pronounced, with a reasonable amount of lobster meat present. The noodles were cooked just right to al dente, with just the right amount of olive oil. The tomato sauce was actually quite spicy, which took me by surprise. Overall, if you like spaghetti and lobster, this is easily a winner. The butternut squash agnolotti packed a heavy punch of oil, due to wielding the hammer of the mighty brown butter. The sage offered some herbal freshness, and the butternut squash soaked it all in. This dish a heavy, yet sensual blanket of comfort food that wont give you heartburn, but will make you reach for a glass of water. The agnolotti itself was the right texture: firm yet soft. The duck confit was the real highlight of the entrée choices. Slow cooked for tenderness, yet had a beautiful, crispy skin on the outside. Although I will admit it's a little on the salty side, it more charismatic than overbearing. Overall, Im glad a place like this exists. It offers fine dining within an elegant, yet casual setup. read more

My second visit was as good as my first. That's a great sign if you ask me! Consistency. Since I always crave trying as much as I can on a menu, this place has small plates. Whoop! I usually sit at the bar to see other people's delicious plates being served. Everything on a plate looks just amazing. Great spot for a day date and nights too. read more

Nasty nasty rude hostess who was on shift Sunday night 6/30/2019 around 8pm. Tried to call in a take out order and was told they don't do takeout and hung up on immediately. Called back to try again and was told its against their policy for any takeout from the restaurant. Since I get takeout here very regularly at least 6 takeout orders here in the past month alone that I've called in I found that hard to believe and told her so. I was then informed "fine you can come order takeout at the bar and wait but im not taking your order on the phone". I used to come here 3-4x a week at least and spent plenty of money here. After tonight I will not be returning again with such nasty rude staff. There is no shortage of restaurants who will gladly accept my money for an expensive take out order on Sunday nights at 8pm when they are slow and could use the business. read more

I wanted to really like this place but sachet made it hard. First let me say the restaurant is beautiful. They did a great job with the interior, high ceiling, hughs, and finishes. The olive oil at the table is top notch, the ravioli short rib has excellent taste, and the falafel is also done nicely. The margarita is a great drink. Sachet lost me on the seating arrangement and apps. We were seated at a shared booth. I don't know why high end restaurants do the shared booth concept, but it's terrible. I shouldn't be able to touch the person at the table next to me. I also shouldnt have the waiters butt in my face when he is addressing the table next to me, but that's the impact of shared booth. I was facing the wall and even though there is a short mirror, it's too short to be of use, so I'm looking at nothing but my companion and the wall. My chair had no padding. It was hardwood. This might work at a diner where they turn the table quickly, but at a multi-course restaurant like this, by the third course I wanted to stand up. While the main dishes were great, the meze was pretty terrible. We went 0 for 3 on the eggplant, Brussels, and Farroh. All cold dishes, all poorly executed, all really small. Overall just trying to be too foodie here. Finally our table was a very small two seater. Again for a place that brings out so many dishes, a small table won't work. I know you're trying to create two more chairs in the restaurant, but it cheapens the experience big time when you're at a table that can barely fit 4 dishes and you're crammed next to the guests beside you. I hate giving one star, but for $95 you've got to do better. read more

Amelia is AMAZINGGG!! She took care of our table and gave us the upmost best service! As a table who works in the service industry, we were all very pleased with the service, phenomenal (to die for) food, and the staff was exceptionally caring and attentive! 15/10 recommend to all! read more

The food was delicious. The restaurant was lovely and very tasteful. Our waitress was amazing, checked in on us routinely and was happy to swing back by to get our orders after we had gotten distracted by our conversation. We'll definitely be going back for the amazing food and cocktails. read more
