Been coming to Saigon Flavors since the very day it opened. Charlie the owner always greats us with a big hello and Lee is as engaging of a server as they come. He alone is able to get my youngest to eat his broccoli! Food is excellent and always consistent. My kids range from 7-14 and when asked where they want to eat it's always " Saigon Flavors"! I love #52 and the calamari salad. My son eats the Charlie special. And we can't live without the summer rolls and peanut sauce. read more

Nice small clean and classy Vietnamese restaurant in Oviedo. Everybody is really nice and friendly and the owner/manager knows all his regular customers by name. All ingredients are fresh. Love the pho although they don't offer vegetarian/vegan alternatives for the broth (chicken/beef broth used in all pho items). All menu items are customizable (except for the pho broth). So glad to have found this gem, and lucky to have it so close to home. The staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere was very inviting. Our server, Lee, was wonderful. He offered some great suggestions and even cracked a smile out of my daughter who was not in the best of moods. They had the best summer rolls I've had in a long time. The peanut dipping sauce was delightful. They offer large portions, however it doesn't take away from the detail and passion behind their creative dishes. For my first time there and also as a newbie to Vietnamese food I will give Saigon Flavors a 4 star rating. Everything was right on to the reviews, it was not busy but I could see how service may suffer when they do get busy. So I would recommend not hitting this place up at a peak time unless your prepared for the experience. Other than that, everything was awesome, we started with pork & shrimp summer rolls that came with a peanut sauce, I mixed in a little bit of the red hot paste on the table and it was delicious, I could have eaten 5 more but Im glad I didn't because I barely finished my entree which was Saigon Beef. Little pieces of flank steak served over a bed of lettuce and tomatoes with sauteed onions and a sweet vinegary fish sauce to go over it all, also came with some white rice which I just mixed into the whole salad. My sister ordered the pork vermicelli with cabbage spring rolls. It was exactly as described and I think its a variation of what I will order my next visit. The noodles are made fresh, the apps are crispy and everything tasted delicious, service was awesome and fast as can be. We were out in like 40 mins total. It was smooth I will definitely come back and I thank everyone for giving honest reviews prior to my visit. Oh another thing I noticed was that they had the travel channel on the tv at the bar which is always a good sign to know that the owners/managers are into foodie type programming, it means they usually know whats good. So....this place has been open for 5 years and is less than a mile from my house and I've never been. Some coworkers plan a monthly dinner night out and this is the restaurant they picked and I'm so glad they did! Lee was our server and he started out asking if anyone had allergies. He was taking somebody else's order when he heard me say to my husband, "I wish they had..." before I could finish my sentence he asked what I wanted. I told him I wish they had something with tofu and curry on the menu. They don't but he had them make me something and it was delicious!!! We also ordered tofu spring and summer rolls. The spring rolls were okay but the summer rolls were super good. I read on another review that the peanut sauce tasted straight up like peanut butter like it was a bad thing but I loved it! For dessert I got the cheesecake and it was heavenly. My husband got the pina colada cake and he said that I picked the better dessert this time and I agree! read more

I've heard and read good things about this restaurant. The first time I came here I was picking up food for someone else and the owner seemed very nice and hospitable. The people I came with on this visit enjoyed their food, so it is possible that I just chose the wrong item off the Chef's Specials. The waitress we had was very pushy asking if I know what I wanted before I opened the menu. After saying we needed some time, she returned a minute later to ask if we had decided. I chose the Saigon Noodles. And these noodles were most the reason for the one star. The chicken was as dry as the Sahara, the shrimp were overcooked, and the noodles were gummy. The waiters came by often to refill our waters and to ask if we were done but not once asked if our meals turned out alright. The manager was too busy closing the restaurant two hours before their posted hours to come by our table. I would say it's worth going to this restaurant as I'm sure they have flavorful dishes, but unfortunately I found no pleasure in consuming a small portion of the food I ordered. read more

I have gone to Saigon Flavors quite a few times since it opened because it so close to where I live, a good alternate to driving to 'Little Saigon'. I have always liked the food at Saigon Flavors, particularly the Vermicelli. Unfortunately I will never go there again after repeated bad customer service. There is a server there, an older gentlemen, who is way too pushy on what he thinks you should get. He has also messed up my order more than once because he doesn't write anything down. I try not to judge a restaurant on the service alone and I would still go back if that was my only complaint. I have had numerous bad experiences with the owner. He was very rude to me when picking up to go orders, telling me I had to wait when I could clearly see it was right there on the counter, just sitting there getting cold. My last dining experience there was the straw that broke the camel's back. Once again we had the pushy waiter, who got our food wrong. My friend ordered a caramel fish, but out came a whole fish on a plate. This person is not the kind of person who enjoys their meal looking back at them. My friend explained to the server that this is not what he ordered. He then got the owner, who proceeded to try to talk my friend into eating the whole fish. The owner went as far as cutting off the head to try to convince him to eat it. He ate it 1/4 of it, didn't like it. We were forced to pay for the whole fish entree, which is twice as expensive as the caramel fish. The owner gave us an 'entree coupon' to make up for this. We didn't want a coupon, we wanted what we ordered in the first place. We will not be using the coupon. We now frequent a Thai restaurant a couple miles down Aloma called Thai Villa. Had gone in to order some hot pho because I was feeling sick, and it defiantly did the trick. The broth was a bit plain but i enjoyed it with some extra limes and cilantro. The atmosphere was better than the food. I'm not gonna lie, everything was really fresh. I got the spring rolls (fried) with tofu, they were excellent and my friend I went with got the grilled pork summer rolls, THEY WERE AMAZINGLY FRESH. I got number 43 the clear noodle soup combo. The meat was odd. I didn't like it. I made the mistake of not switching the noodles too. Worst food I have ever had. Horrible service. There was no flavor and I will never recommend anyone to come here. Not to mention some things were a lot overpriced . Don't waste your time coming. If you know what Vietnamese food is really like then you won't like it . Also I called to try and tell the manager about our experience and he told me to "shut up" and then he hung up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. People like this should not own or manage a business. I have worked in customer service for so long and I know that no matter what the customer is always right. I love, love, love this place, as well does my whole family. We have been passing by this place for years, and always wanted to try it, and we are so glad that we did. Our first experience with the restaurant was with take-out and my husband was so impressed by how the staff treated him and my daughter, and even helped him take the food out to the car. The second time we dined in, and the server named "Lee" was amazing, and my 2 yr old daughter is in love with him. He goes out of his way every time we are in there to spend time with my daughter and give her special treats, he even sat down next to her and colored with her one day. Now on to the food. We are Vegetarians, and have a hard time finding good food to meet our needs. This place is so awesome, in the fact that they have Tofu options for appetizers, and dinners, and you can request any of their meals with Tofu as a substitute. Our absolute favorite is the Mock Chicken, Summer Rolls with Tofu, and there was a Yellow Curry dish, that we used to get with Tofu (not seeing it on the menu online now). We have tried some of the desserts, they are all amazing, and the Boba drinks are good and fun to drink. They are never to busy, that the restaurant will not have a seat for you right away. First time coming here. On my way home I bought a dinner and my friends talked me into trying this instead. This was a great experience from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Lee was our server and repeatedly offered to explain anything on the menu. Mind you this was at 7:45pm and they close at 9. Most places would be in a rush to get you out of the establishment but not Lee. Lee asked 3 of us what we liked and if we had allergies. He catered the meal specific to each. We tried the pork with rice and egg, shrimp with veggies and lemongrass sauce, plus the caramel fish meal. If you want a meal from somewhere that will be courteous, accommodating and authentic this is a place to go. I will be going back frequently. I enjoy Asian food but my husband usually does not accompany me; I have to eat it alone or with one of our grown children. We were with those kids when we voted to try Saigon Flavors. My husband begrudgingly tagged along. My youngest has Celiiacs Disease; she asked about their gluten free choices. Their chef talked to her personally and whipped her up a great meal. My husband really enjoyed his choice, too. All the food was tasty; the best I ever ate; their curry dish I had was not overwhelming being served just right. I'd go back; so will my spouse! I love the food at Saigon Flavors....It is the best Vietnamese cuisine that this town has to offer. I use to go to another restaurant on Hwy. 50 in Orlando, but not anymore. Saigon Flavors has a large menu, and offers a lot of selections. I love the Pho but just ordered the Wonton soup which is GREAT!!! The Pineapple fried rice is wonderful and a whole meal. I also love the Summer rolls and they make their peanut sauce everyday. There are a lot of things that I have yet to try, but I am going to eat my way through most of the menu....Great place good service..... read more

Had a GREAT lunch at Saigon Flavors! Server was really helpful suggesting menu items when I asked. She told me what she loves right now and eats every day. That says a lot right there - that she enjoys the food enough to eat it daily. They were very friendly and attentive but it was also around noon on a Saturday and they were pretty empty - a total of three tables taken throughout my meal (including mine). I got the fried wontons as my starter per my server's recommendation. The sweet and sour sauce was delicious! She also recommended wrapping the wontons in the lettuce they provide (but she said hardly anyone ever eats or uses) and dipping that combo into the sauce. Great idea as it was awesome! Really couldn't get better as a starter. For my entree, I got the pho ga, as that is what my server "has been craving and eating every day." The broth was perfect! I liked the additional toppings provided as well (bean sprouts, like wedge, thai basil, and jalapeños), as I love thai basil. I added all of the toppings sans the jalapeños. It was just a great mix of the flavors you expect. They also provide spices (pepper sauces / pastes)on the table to increase the heat. I used two of them in the pho and was pleased. There were only two minor complaints I have: 1. The chicken in the pho ga tasted like it had been frozen. The texture was not that of fresh chicken. It was edible, but not great and not on par with the rest of the food. 2. I, personally, did not care about this but others may. And if you watch any of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, he RIPS into servers/owners who do this. The manager (I'm guessing?) would sit at the bar and watch tv when not "working." The bar is right next to all of the guests eating. He did work during this time - getting water, refilling water, taking plates away, getting the check, etc. But, in between working, he was at the bar watching TV. Again, I didn't care as it was pretty empty and I would enjoy doing the same thing. But, it can also be viewed as unprofessional. Overall, though, I LOVED it and will be back soon. read more

Stopped by on a Friday for a casual date night. Was very impressed by the attentiveness and helpfulness Lee showed us. His recommendations were spot on. Please try the wonton soup! And if you feel like changing things up, forgo the traditional pho and get the Dry Clear Noodle Combo. Also tried their coconut boba tea and it was the best I've ever had. I'm happy to say Saigon Flavors will be our go-to Viatnamese restaurant from now on. The service was excellent and the food was even better. I stopped here on the way back from a long day at the hospital and I was famished. I had a 6 year old with me so I had a pretty short window to eat in. Where they really shone was the amazing service and extra attention they gave to the 6 year old. Instead of being exasperated with a choosy child, they were amazing. Our super sweet server asked what her favorite animal was and then drew it on her styrofoam cup...the dolphin was a hit. The restaurant was lightly decorated for halloween which was fun. Our server had great fangs and spider eyes! She helped us pick out great spring rolls with a peanut butter sauce. They were nice and fresh. She guided me on picking out the pho from a nice list. I got a great flank steak one with lots of nice fresh basil and bean sprout topping. The manager /owner? came by and was very nice. Another server came by and chatted with Av about Halloween and let her pick out candy from a treat bucket. Easily the most chic of any Vietnamese resto I know of in the area...so that got me wondering if they were compensating for something...anyway they clearly weren't! Excellent service right of the bat and throughout both of my meals here. Everything tastes very fresh, just bear in mind that this restaurant serves a somewhat more limited Vietnamese menu than most other viet places. Great Thai teas and honestly outside of the lack of variety on the menu, (which is mostly a personal thing in any case) my only other gripe...which again is mostly personal would be the size of the pho...I like being able to swim in my asian noodle soups, and while the pho was very tasty, I definitely wanted a larger portion! read more
