The portion size was the right amount, egg rolls nice and crisp with a proportionate amount of taro, carrot, vermicelli, and meat. Seasoning was not too overpowering or salty. I rarely write reviews that r negative but I feel like if I make every effort to allow company , restaurant to make it right we'll then I am left with no choice So $80 dollar dinner to go of soup and Eggrolls and I asked if I could order hot tea while I wait . Sure that's $6 bucks and change I get the hot tea and ask for lemon I taste it and it takes like soap No problem with me it happens. SO I quietly tell the waitress She states that's impossible we don't use soap as she is spraying down the countertop next to me with simple green. So she ask what do you want me to do. I explained can't drink she takes it and walks away . At the same time a gentleman brings my food out to go. So I assume she is going to return with my refund or offer to replace it with tea to go. Few minutes go by and I have to flag her down and asked are you going to bring my change ? She said do you want me to replace the hot tea? No I am leaving He asked what do you want , I state a refund she walks away and is gone for about 5 mins And asked me do you want an ice tea to go as no refund you ordered it and didn't drink it. Just wow I order like weekly from here so disappointed and just sad over like a .40 cent tea I won't be returning. The pork was very tasty but I had to ask for another side of fish sauce cause everything else didn't have flavor. :( In addition, I wanted to try their broth so I asked for a side order of pho broth. I've had their appetizers, their rice plate, their vermicelli, and more! The strip mall and logo are misleading, because this place is a hidden gem! The interior is tastefully decorated, and the service is fast. There's an asian dish called spicy fish filet in flaming chili oil. The fish is poached in hot spicy oil and is super tender and flavorful. My review is about service mire than food. I ordered through UBER a small 2 item order, difficult to mess it up right? Well, think again! I only got one item and the uber drive Scot seemed nervous. I called the restaurant and they told me they had checked everything before giving it to the driver and I needed to call Uber and report Scot because he obviously had helped himself to my spring rolls. I wasn't happy about their initial "is out of our hands" attitude so after much back and forth I told the lady that I will be leaving a bad review. I ended the call, called Ubereats, reported the issue, foto of the receipt and driver's name. I got refunded almost right away plus 10%!! About 5 minutes later I got a call from the lady at Saigon telling me that although they were sure they had packed everything they wanted to make it right and to reimburse me for the missing item. Wow! That's why they are getting 5 stars!! They cared to make a customer happy, that was important to them. We have been here a few times now and always leave here full with leftovers. The ambiance is casual, this would be a good first date especially if you want to keep things light. They have booths and the dining is private with some space for larger groups when that is allowed again. They have a full menu with traditional Vietnamese Pho and Thai dishes. Today we both had the hot and sour soup, wontons, and we each got an entree. This was way too much food, but we get to enjoy it again for another meal later. The soup was really good, it had a mixture of tofu, chicken, and mushrooms as proteins and was a very large bowl. The wontons were crispy and fresh, just right. The dipping sauce was so good, not too sweet but more savory which went really well with the wontons. Onto the curried chicken with brown rice: this was so good, lemongrass and coconut with that delicious blend of curry flavor. My husband got the filet mignon, which was served sizzling and came with rice and a salad. I tried a bite of his steak and it was tender and moist-just right! They also have a full menu of drinks, we usually do tea but they also have wine and beer. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. There are also desserts, if you save some room! Pretty good pho place on Friars in Mission Valley. The place was super quiet and super nicely decorated. The spring rolls were very good and the pho broth super tasty.
