First visit to Saizon Restaurant in Fresno. My oh my, but this has elevated my opinion of fine dining in this town. Atmosphere is elegant, relaxing, yet no one feels the need to formally overdress(my impression). On a midweek evening, reservations are required, fair warning. We were a group of 5. We were led to a comfortable corner booth and given time to peruse the menu and make our selections. The style of service seems to be small plates. Lots of East -West fusion inspired dishes. (For example, tasty al pastor bao buns. ) We ordered a variety of plates, starting with the beet carpacchio. Each dish was pretty amazing. This is an experience to share with people close to you. Extremely pleasant culinary delights. Examine the photos of each dish. The cocktails here were highly recommended. However, I couldn't resist ordering a Scotch single malt: Obama 14 Year. It accompanied my meal splendidly. If it was this busy on a weeknight, I think it was be too crowded on a weekend. Highly recommend. Our server was excellent.
Gosh! If I didn't like cooking so much I would eat here for brunch and dinner every day. The food is so breathtakingly spectacular, and don't get me started on the handcrafted drinks. I have been to Saizon for a good amount of its dinner services and a few of its brunch services and no matter what time of day, it will always hit the spot (though I do prefer the dinner menu). Parking is a bit chaotic because you have other marvelous local stores and eateries near by I.e Ampersand, Otherside, Revival 23, etc. But the food really does make up for it. You walk in and the lights are dimmed adding a very sultry atmosphere, the music is spectacular when you can hear it from the white noise of chatter from how full it is, which is expected by a restaurant that serves the best of the best, and the hosts as well as their service are beyond nice, always checking in at the right time and nailing at sounding very genuine. Tiniest bit I had was a salmon dish that had a very sweet sauce, which the sauce personally was not for me as sweet/seafood is not really my vibe. However the fish flaked beautifully, the vegetables were perfectly blanched. Every other seafood dish (with a couple of sample-bites of my boyfriend's steak dishes) has been 1,000,000 out of 10. You must try the speciality drinks! As a 'drink snob' these are very unique and you can't find them anywhere else. The head chef that is in charge for all of the Saizon-family restaurants is truly ahead of the game. You will always catch me supporting this restaurant family P.S. (if you don't know where to start, begin with the Truffle Mac and Cheese!!!)
Finally got to try brunch and can't wait to come back! It's packed, so I suggest a reservation. Our server was super nice and attentive, the vibes were great, and the food was delicious. My favorite dishes were the oysters and the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict, but all four dishes we got were superb! Also, if you like espresso martinis, theirs is creamy with just the right amount of sweetness.
Came here for dinner to celebrate two friends' birthdays. Everyone enjoyed the drinks and food. The highlights were the crispy bluefin nigiri and the Cali cut. One critique, we had two orders of the truffle mac and cheese and one had very little truffle flavor compared to the other. The place itself has a good vibe and is on the more upscale side. Service was great! Everyone was nice and attentive! And at the end of dinner, they brought out two sorbets with candles for our birthday girls.
Chose this place to celebrate a birthday and definitely made the right decision. We were seated right away (had reservations). The food was amazing and beautifully plated. The restaurant is has indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great selection of specialty drinks. However be prepared to pay a hefty surcharge for a large clear ice cube. I recommend this restaurant for any special occasion since it is on the higher end of price for restaurants in the area but totally worth it. The restaurant was completely full so ensure to have reservations if you want to secure a table without waiting a long time.
Went for the brunch menu for the first time. It's a unique menu so I would recommend reviewing it prior to going. The price of course is more which was expected. I went with my family for Mother's Day. The staff were friendly and ready to answer any questions. I enjoyed two mixed drinks which was plenty to relax a mama. I think I would stick to the dinner menu. The ambiance is beautiful and aesthetic.
We had some gift cards to use so why not come and have dinner? Amazing as always!! Great service! Great staff! Great food!!! We sat outside on Monday evening and it was perfect weather. We ate and were about to leave but decided to sit down and have some drinks inside. The bartender was great he made me some drinks based off of what I wanted and we talked about baseball. To the point where I ended up buying tickets that night to a dodger game. There's nothing bad I'll ever say about this place. Because when they sent burnt lamp chops out they took it back and made new ones. This is one restaurant I will always recommend and also suggest family style so everyone can share different plates. We usually order 4-5 plates and split it for our group, to start get ceviche both options are great.
Saizon is still one of my top favorite restaurants in Fresno. The service and the ambience are always on point. The shrimp rigatoni remains my favorite dish. It's just so good every time. On this visit, we tried a few new things. The scallops were amazing, and the cauliflower mash they came with was incredibly tasty. The quail, however, wasn't my favorite. It had a lot of breading and not much meat. I think I would've preferred baked quail over breaded fried quail. We also tried a new amaretto-flavored dessert. It was good, but not something I'd need to order again. Overall, it was a lovely evening. I'll definitely be back for the pasta and, of course, the oysters and scallops!
This place is truly amazing. I come here with my girls for both lunch and dinner all the time, and it honestly never misses. No matter the time of day, the vibe is always on point. The ambiance is so cute and aesthetic, perfect for taking pictures and just enjoying the moment. Everything about the space feels intentional, from the decor to the lighting, which makes it a great spot to relax, catch up, and feel good while you're there. What really elevates the experience is the staff. They are always kind, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating. One time, I came with a friend who has a chicken allergy, and they handled it so well without making it feel like an inconvenience. That level of care really stands out. The food comes out quickly, whether you're there for lunch or dinner, and it is always full of flavor. The steak is cooked to perfection every time, tender and seasoned just right. I highly recommend pairing it with their mocktail Hugo Spritz, it complements the meal perfectly and adds to the overall experience. The aesthetic of the place ties everything together. It is one of those spots where you can enjoy great food, great company, and leave with both a full stomach and cute pictures. It is a little on the pricier side, but for the quality, service, and overall experience, it is definitely worth the money.
I've been hearing a lot about this restaurant for quite some time, so I finally decided to try it out this past Sunday. I chose to try their brunch. Not sure how it differs from their evening menu, but there were plenty of intriguing options. The ambience is wonderful! It feels like you've left Fresno and landed in SF or LA. But first, remember that reservations are a must as this place is hopping. We sat outside and it was really sweet. I'm on the wagon for now, so I ordered a na Betty White cocktail. It was so yummy! Very refreshing and pretty. We got both the avocado and beet salad appetizers, and we probably should have stopped there, but we each order a main dish as well. The avocado dip was the very best I've ever had! No joke. Served with toasted tortillas, it was outstanding. The beet carpaccio was good, but I'm not a huge beet fan, so I wasn't as impressed, but the presentation and amount they gave us was immense. My sister ordered the crab tostados and I had the taquitos de papa. They were really beautifully done. I've gotta be honest, I probably would've enjoyed them more if I wasn't already stuffed from the appetizers! The wait staff was very attentive, and service was immaculate. The atmosphere is relaxing and trendy. The drinks, and deserts are fabulous. I don't always order either at other restaurants but do here.

An amazing dinner like last time. The food is all so delicious! Both Kelly our server and the gentleman bussing tables (who I swear did not stop moving and kept our water cups full) were incredibly friendly without overstaying at the table. I just love coming here for drinks and food. This was my niece and mom's first time. We ordered dirty martinis, guacamole and queso dips and chips, and we all decided on the lemon pasta with shrimp. Everything was delicious. Our server was very friendly and very attentive. read more

This is my second time at Saizon, and every time I've been so impressed. Personally, I love their winter menu much more than the summer one, but the food always hits. The waiter was really nice and gave excellent service. Every time I've come here, the staff has been super friendly and welcoming. For drinks, I had the lychee martini and the old fashioned. Between the two, the lychee martini was definitely my favorite. The flavors worked really well together. The old fashioned was a bit too sweet for my taste, especially for that type of drink. The truffle mac and cheese is seriously to die for. One of the best I've ever had. It is a small appetizer though, so I recommend ordering two if you are in a bigger group. You won't regret it. The Atlantic salmon was really good. I loved the orange sauce and the summer veggie mix. The sides complemented the dish nicely. The flatiron steak with mushroom risotto was absolutely chef's kiss. I loved how all the flavors came together. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, just how I like it. Not pictured, but I also tried the tiger shrimp ceviche and the guacamole. The ceviche was fantastic. I really enjoyed the flavors. The guacamole was just okay. I will definitely be coming back. This is a must-visit spot anytime you are in Fresno. read more

Absolutely cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. I've been here for work lunches, birthday dinners, girls night out, etc and have never been dissatisfied! The service is always top notch and the food is absolutely delicious. It is in the pricier side but I cannot recommend this place enough! read more
Wow!! This was the BEST restaurant we went to in Clovis area! It was AMAZING. Everything we tried was so delicious. We had a reservation and mostly did appetizers and drinks. I can't say enough about how good the apps were. The chicken taquitos and cooked carrots made me want to order another and also one of everything!!! The oysters were a fan favorite as well! Ok this place is as good as they say! We came here for our anniversary and sat in the patio. The service was great! Everyone was so nice and checked up on us regularly. I've been here multiple times. Love the food! Everything is seasoned to perfection. Dessert was so delicious.. Service is great. The drinks are ok, aesthetically pleasing for pictures. It's pretty lively so if you're looking for a more quiet and intimate setting it might not be ideal for that.. I do enjoy the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. We had an amazing meal here for Mother's Day this weekend. I made a reservation the morning of, and there were still a few slots left for the popular times. And there were so many things that sounded good, we had a hard time choosing! We started with the beet carpaccio. When this dish came out, we were like, how do we eat this? There is a thin layer of beets on the bottom with toppings, and it is perfectly portioned for 4 people. Protip: serve it out the SE Asian way -- with a fork and spoon. :) We got the taquitos papas (comes with an egg), and the shakshuka. My partner's mom got the birria benny (which she said was very good). Everything was fantastic. The shakshuka was tarter than I expected, but the yogurt/cream sauce balanced it nicely. The eggs were over easy, and the sourdough bread that came with this was plentiful and delicious. I hate when places serve saucy dishes without enough bread, so the hearty portion of bread was so appreciated. And then, we had to close with the churro french toast. OMG. It's amazing. Melt in your mouth, breaded with panko..... We got a bao to go (the one with scrambled eggs), and that one was good too. Yes, this places is a bit pricier than your usual diner or fastfood, but it's good, and, coming from LA, still reasonable. Mikaela was our server, and she was great. Made sure we had fresh plates after each course, and was friendly and accommodating throughout. We also met some friendly fellow diners who helped us take a group picture at the end of our meal! This place is bustling. It can be a bit loud, but not so much that you can't hear your dinner companions. The parking lot is kind of nuts, so that's something to be aware of, but unlike LA, it does seem like there was parking available if you want it. read more
The food here is consistently delicious! The service is exceptional, and I've always had a fantastic experience every time I visit. The dress code is quite relaxed either casual or business casual. If you're a sushi fan or love crispy rice, the crispy bluefin nigiri is an absolute must and my personal favorite every time. It's incredibly flavorful, and I always ask for extra sauce to enjoy with all my appetizers. The chuleta is also excellent and can stand on its own as a main dish. Saizon offers great food, service, and ambiance. I love the indoor aesthetics of the space - it's perfect for a date night or special occasion. Bonus points for being able to make a reservation ahead of time. The restaurant offers indoor seating as well as an outdoor covered patio. The menu does change so it's fun to try new dishes that they offer. Everything is beautifully plated and the different flavors of each dish complement each other very well. For appetizers, we ordered ceviche, grilled oysters, baos, lemongrass chili crab, and the Chuleta. The baos were a bit plain and the sauce of the lemongrass chili crab pasta overpowered the crab, but the Chuleta was AMAZINGGGGG and one of my favorite dishes. I normally don't order lamb because the meat tastes too gamey but this was delicious. I hope this stays on the menu forever! If you have to choose just one appetizer, definitely go with the Chuleta. The waygu steak and ribeye were both perfectly cooked to order and so tender. There are a few different sides you can choose from if you order a plate. I went with the mushroom risotto and it was really good. If you're in the mood for a fancy drink, they have a selection of pretty (and strong) concoctions on the menu as well. read more

Woah. Okay. Yes it's boujee and yes it's expensive. But the quality of the food and the service of the staff are unbeatable. Im not normally a huge fan of oysters and crab, but the seafood tower was so fresh, and so delicious. The Cali cut was tender, juicy steak. Came here during the work week to grab some dinner, service was great! He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He also shared with me that the owners own my go to fav Fresno restaurant-Heirloom! Go figure! For an app I got the recommended tiger ceviche, which was really good! For dinner I got the crispy bluefin nigiri-also recommended by the waiter. It was good, I really like the sauces it came with! The restaurant has great vibes, super sleek and modern. This is a true hot spot for brunch time affairs. It's got the amazing ambiance, it's got great service and food to boot! I think to top it all off from all of this is that this restaurant is very inexpensive for the price, service, and location you're getting. I had went with a huge party and the service was amazing. They were super crowded on a Saturday brunch, but we had no mistaken orders. The food was exceptional as the bacon was crispy and chewy, the crab tacos were meaty and rich. The oysters! THE OYSTERS! They were so succulent and delicious, I had to order another round. Haha! If you're looking for a great brunch spot, this is one not to miss. read more

OK, round two. Went back today for brunch, had a wonderful experience. The food came out super fast and was wonderfully made. I love, love the view of the kitchen and y hat you can see everything that's going and being prepared for the customers. Everyone that works there is working super hard to provide great service. Everyone from the hostesses in the front, the cooks, the waiters, the people helping keep the tables clutter free. Everything we ordered and received today was spot on. The food was excellent, I would not have changed a single thing on anything that we ordered. The bathrooms were clean the floor was spotless. It was our first time here. Ambiance was entertaining. Definitely a good "nightly outing" type of vibe. We came for my birthday, and although I told the back up server it was my birthday, sadly my server didn't acknowledge it so I did feel a little bummed out but it was fine. She was still attentive and answered our questions. The food I would give a 4/5. We ordered the steak Bao (wow was it amazing), the lamb chops (so tender and juicy), the pork chop (it was a little dry for my particular taste) and the skirt steak with green beans. The first few bites were great but after a while we both realized everything tasted really salty. We kept munching on the beans because of their sweetness with the fig sauce to balance it out. The toffee pudding was so delicious ! I loved the toffee pieces with the ice cream. It added a great crunch. Overall experience was a 4/5 and despite all the fancy plates we only spend $170 which isn't too bad! Definitely would try them out again! read more

Everything about this place was amazing. The food came out perfectly prepared and you can tell they put care into every dish. Tried this place out after seeing reviews. The ambiance caught my eye off the bat. I came with a friend and I ordered the chilaquiles and shared the toast with my friend. The toast was amazing! It came with cajeta or caramel sauce and butter on top. So good! The chilaquiles were also killer and very filling. Not too expensive, good quality food and relaxing ambiance. Server did a good job being attentive and giving recommendations as well. Overall great experience will be back. read more

I finally got to try Saizon after having it on my list-try list for a few years. I was in town for the Holidays and met up with some previous coworkers for a Christmas dinner. We had a reservation and our party was for 9 people. Yelp didn't disappoint me with the chicken Taquitos recommendation. They were amazing. We also got the queso dip as our appetizer and it was also really delicious with a nice hint of jalopeno but it wasn't spicy. We have great service from start to finish. They were also kind to let us split up the bill in pairs. Also friendly wait staff to take our group photos! read more

Hi! On Saturday and Sunday, our kitchen closes for brunch at 2:30 and we reopen the kitchen for dinner at 5:00. We do not serve food from 2:30-5:00.

What is the different between a Patio Reservation and Side Patio Reservation when making reservations online?

Yes!!! It's like any other restaurant booth. Just on the bar side (close to the entrance).
