I was pleasantly surprised by Sajj. Despite being a fast casual spot (think Mediterranean Chipotle) the food was very flavorful and service prompt. They have the standard customizable options of plates, wraps, salads, and bowls. I got the bowl with pomegranate chicken - it was very tasty and the quality of the meat was great. I got a couscous base but would opt for the salad next time as it was overcooked. The lentil soup was also very good. My only gripe is they upcharge for every little custom add-on, for instance $3 for a tiny sprinkle of feta cheese, and $1 for a teaspoon size cup of chutney and hot sauce. It certainly adds up and without the add-ons the entrees are rather basic. For a restaurant that has everything premade I would expect a little less in price. read more

Very very delicious and insanely fast service! I ordered the falafel bowl and crispy pita chips with hummus as a side. Let me first say that my order was ready within 5 mins of placing my order on ubereats. I was able to grab it and be in and out in time for my meetings. They also don't go light on the toppings and fill up the bowl with all the works. The falafel was also delicious and creamy (which was great considering falafel can often be a little dry). The pita chips are also addicting and so delicious when dipped in the hummus and in the bowl. We came a little after noon and didn't see too crazy of a line but once 12:30 hit the line was out the door. Be sure to come before or order ahead to avoid the rush! If you're dining in person they give you a cup of soup which I highly recommend because it's so warm and flavorful for being so simple. It paired well with the schwafle bowl I got with chicken. The chicken here was flavorful but the falafel was delicious with the hummus and garlic sauce they put on top. You can easily fill your bowl with greens, veggies, rice, etc and you won't feel guilty doing so. They have plenty of other sauces you can pair with your bowl if you're feeling saucy. I was only able to finish half of my bowl but SAJJ is a wonderful option if you want something flavorful and on the healthier side of options in the area. ** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** I had been meaning to try this Mediterranean spot in South Beach for some time prior to the pandemic but never did. Now deep into shelter-in-place, I thought I should give delivery a try. It was a rainy Saturday night, so things must have been hopping. The downside of experiencing a restaurant solely through a delivery app is that there is a lengthy delay in discovering when their menu has been depleted. That's what happened to me when I originally ordered the $13 Vegan Trio Bowl. Sadly I found out an hour later they were unable to prepare it. At least I was contacted to see if I wanted an alternative, but through the process of elimination, I landed on the $10 Mezze Platter (photo: https://bit.ly/3pyTqkt). When It arrived, it came carefully packaged as if it was already made and refrigerated. I don't hold that aspect against the restaurant as these are unwieldy times. Fortunately for me, the flavors and careful preparation still shone through. It consisted of equal parts Hummus (creamy and almost luxuriant), Babaganoush (chunky and most satisfying), and Tzatziki (the right yogurt-like consistency). As with other Sajj spots, this place is amazing and hospitable. The staff greets you in warmly and offers to explain the menu if this is your first time or if you have any questions. The food was on point, although I felt I've enjoyed the pomegranate chicken more in other locations. Great portions too! We dined in as a group of 6, and I totally appreciated the benches they had towards the entrance as it gave us adequate seating. Towards the end of our time here, the Arabic music playlist kicked in and boy was I really nostalgic hearing some of their music 9.5/10 in my book, and will be coming back again when I visit the city in the future. read more

We ordered through the app which was pretty simple. We got the family meal, fries, steak side, and chicken hummus. First of all, the food is delicious!! (I mentioned this in my first review too - their food is good) The chicken and steak were so soft and juicy. The hummus is good and none of the food this time was oily. The fries were kind of soft but it tastes like real potato and not crazy deep fried. Second, their food is a lot of bang for the buck. Look at the photo! This is the family meal and was only $40. As a family of four, we really only needed this. We got a lot more stuff which made this meal last us forever. The only reason I didn't update to 5 stars is because I'd have to order again (and get a build your own bowl) to accurately say how it went the second time. How I love thee let me count the ways, the falafel mixed green bowl is my jam for sure. You can kind of say it's like chipotle for Mediterranean food. You choose your protein or veggies, then you choose the rice bowl or wrap or pita bread etc, then you can choose any topics you want on that. I chose a lot of different sauces which made my bowl flavorful. Would definitely recommend not adding TOO many toppings, personally I feel that it messes up the overall flavor that way. I had not seen my friend since last year so it was really nice to hang out again. During the normal days, parking would have been a nightmare given the location, BUT I was able to find a spot right in front. There was only two staff working that day. We were greeted and when my friend confirmed the collaboration, we proceeded to create our Mediterranean meals. Now, this is my first time at this SAJJ location; the first one I went to was the one in San Bruno. Here's what we ordered: 1. Chicken Shawafel bowl (hers) 2. Steak Shawarma pita bread (mine) I got the tamarind drink and my friend got lemonade. Each entree is given a small lentil soup; I don't eat a lot of lentils but I really liked the flavor. You can't really see what's inside my pita wrap but I pretty much stuffed it as much as I could with the toppings and boy was it delicious! This meal was such a nice change from the usual Chinese food my parents cook that I've been eating during this whole SIP. The ingredients are fresh and healthy; the meat is juicy, not dry.
